It has a fireplace for the cold days of Mértola and air conditioning in the bedroom and kitchen, so that the whole house stays cool on hot days.

Very nice, freshly renovated house in a very rural and cozy little town. The neighbors are very nice and we were warmly welcomed. It is a few kilometers to Mertola, where everything is available. 3 times a week, the baker comes in the morning to sell fresh fine bread and cakes.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay! Teresa was extremely helpful with any questions we had and gave us many recommendations of things to do in the area. We loved visiting the nearby town of Mértola. It is a very remote and quiet, small village in the countryside - just to note depending what you are looking for :) It was such a relaxing stay for us which we needed on the first stop of our honeymoon! Everything was very clean and as it appeared in the photos. It was easy to get in and out of the house. The only thing was that we weren't sure where to park when we arrived, and our Google pin of the location was a bit off at first (you can park anywhere though!). It all worked out well in the end! Would definitely recommend for a nice getaway to the Portuguese countryside!

Uta's place is magical. Set up high, it overlooks a small village to the south and the sprawling sera to the north. The surroundings are peaceful, away from the tourist bustle of coast. The casa itself is beautifully appointed. All of the practical things are just as they should be (great dinnerware; comfy beds; plenty of sitting areas) and, beyond this, the place is aesthetically joyous. Plenty of art and other thoughtful touches, carefully curated, that make it so inviting. Surrounding the casa are small pathways walled with verdant plant life. The whole place is clearly a labour of love. Uta is a responsive and thoughtful host. We liked it here so much we immediately booked for a longer stay next year. One of the very best places we've ever found on Airbnb.

An authentic stay in a very peaceful and secluded setting. Good value for money. Some things could do with updating in time (kitchen, utensils etc), but can't complain considering the very reasonable price. The pool was lovely and outdoor space was perfect. It was our first time in Portugal and we didn't mind travelling to beaches etc from the location as we were able to enjoy the rural countryside and quiet roads. If you like a peaceful, quiet retreat then this is a great place to stay.

Beautiful property, and very beautiful room/loft. Relaxing surroundings, very peaceful during the day, nice pool, we were able to swim during the end of May. Host was helpful and responsive. Wish we planned to stay longer!
