Cozy 1850s Windmill with City and River Sunset Views

Climb the curving staircase in a historic windmill to admire sunsets from a vantage point like no other. The interior has been updated to provide modern comforts, but there are plenty of quirky original details to make this a unique romantic getaway. Enjoy a delicious breakfast from a tree house with views to the city and river (optional — €20 for 2 people). For little ones', or the grown-ups', fun we do have an small swimming pool during spring and summer. Here you'll find a great getaway from the city buzz, but only 10min away by walking to the ferry that takes you to Lisbon. 5 min walking distance to the Fluvial station of Porto Brandão from which a 10min boat trip will take you directly to Belém. The Windmill was totally refurbished but kept the original feel, with practically no alterations to the original structure preserving all stones, windows and iron pieces as initially found when the property was purchased. This accommodation offers the unique experience of sleeping on a building with more than 150 years of history, originally used for grinding flour to be sent to feed the inhabitants of Lisboa. In the kitchen on the ground floor you’ll find 5 millstones that will bring you closer to this past time. This cozy Windmill is equipped with a very comfortable bed for well-rested nights and a lounge area that provides a great spot to chill at sunset, enjoy a glass of wine or even to have a meal, but that can also accommodate 2 additional people on a double mattress. Adding to the character and comfort found in this Windmill you'll find stunning views from here. You’ll be able to see several sights along the river such as the 25 de Abril bridge, MAAT, Museu da Electricidade, Padrão dos Descobrimentos, Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and as far as the Sintra’s Palácio da Pena goes. Depending on the time of the year you will also be presented with blossoming trees, be able to pick fruits directly from them, or even enjoy a meal on top of an olive tree treehouse. Ideal for slow-paced tourism, nature lovers, romantic escapes, or family trips this accommodation offers plenty of opportunities due to its characteristics, vicinity to cosmopolitan Lisboa and a bunch of interesting sites. Don’t miss: - Beaches - 8Km -> Beginning of the longest continuous beach in the country, with an extension of approximately 30Km - Serra da Arrábida – 32Km - Sintra – 37Km - Cascais – 39Km - Mafra – 52Km - Óbidos – 96Km Please note the following: - Kitchen equipped with coffee machine, toaster, electric kettle, small electric stove and fridge. - Windmill with 3 floors. Stairs may not be suitable for kids under 6. Bikes can be arranged upon request for an extra fee of 10eur (whole day). Inflatable Kayak 3p - 40€ (whole day) Kitesurf equipment -150€ (whole day) I really like to receive my guests personally and share my favorite places in Lisboa and on the surroundings. The windmill is on the south bank of the Tejo River, just across from Belém. It's in the quiet of the countryside, and is just 10 minutes from Lisbon by ferry boat and many beaches by car. 5 min walking distance to the Fluvial station of Porto Brandão from which a 10min boat trip will take you directly to Lisbon (Belém). From Belém to city center there are plenty trains (10min). Please check the time schedule for the ferrys at Transtejo website. Connection between Belem and Porto Brandão. A taxi/uber drive from Lisbon city center to the windmill usually it's about 20eur.

Carefully restored traditional house in Porto Brandāo. We used the best materials to provide you a quality charming home with nice terrace. High quality natural pillows, sheets and eco king size (180x200) mattress "Made in Portugal" give you the best of comfort upstairs. Downstairs there is a sofa bed with 13cm comfortable mattrass (140x190). Close by the Caparica beaches or Lisbon/Belem by boat. Als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach Lissabon oder in die Umgebung sehr gut gelegen. Busse und Bahnen in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Auch Geschäfte sind in der unmittelbaren Nähe und in der Rua Cândida dos Reis, die zum Fährhafen führt, gibt es einige sehr nette Restaurants/Cafés. Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und durchdacht mit allem ausgestattet, was man so brauchen könnte und nicht unbedingt auf Reisen mitnehmen möchte (Bügeleisen/kleines Bügelbrett zum Beispiel😅). John Nicolas ist ein sehr netter und hilfsbereiten Gastgeber, der schnell auf aufkommende Fragen antwortet. Die schönste Zugabe für mich in Almada - unbedingt bei Sonnenuntergang zum River Garden gehen und die tolle Aussicht auf Lissabon, Ponte 25 de Abril und Cristo Rei genießen.

Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt. Emmanuelle ist eine sehr nette Gastgeberin, mit welcher man sich gut über GoogleTranslater verständigen konnte. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber, es gab einen rießigen Balkon und das Zimmer war sehr schön her gerichtet. In die Stadt hat man mit dem Uber, je nach Verkehrslage 15-30 Minuten gebraucht und es gab kostenlose Parkplätze um die Wohnung herum
