Cottage holiday rentals in Monte Rio

This is a charming place, beautifully kept with lovely furnishings. We really enjoyed the well appointed kitchen as we cooked every day. The yard and gardens are beautifully kept, peaceful and serene. Oranges growing right outside the house! We were in town for a wedding, and Santa Rosa is right in the middle of so many enjoyable things to do. We hiked on the CCT out past Bodega Bay, enjoyed restaurants in Healdsburg, visited the redwoods and shopped at the Barlow in Sebastopol. Thank you Cheryl for sharing your lovely home. We had a fabulous time!

We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage! The hosts, Lynn and John, were friendly and welcoming. We brought our baby and they left out a booster seat, child plates/bowls, toys, and made up the crib for him! We were able to do a barrel tasting, which was fantastic! We loved the hot tub and the garden. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the corn hole and fire pit! Will have to come back!

We loved Sarah and Keith’s house! Great location, close to everything, quiet, great neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again.

My family and I had an enjoyable weekend stay at Peter’s cottage. The location was beautiful and home was cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed and I appreciated a clean porta-crib that was provided.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Bed was comfortable. Hot tub chemistry was well maintained (not always the case). Best of all, such a great location for anything in Monte Rio. We were there to see a concert and could walk to the beach, to town, and to and from the event. And after the event, we could sit out in the backyard in the hot tub under the beautiful redwoods (which were nicely lit) in the evening. Great spot. Would recommend and will stay there again if we ever have reason to be in Monte Rio. Plus Tom was very communicative as a host which I appreciate.

What a great cottage! When they say it is a high tide cottage, that means when the high tide comes, the ocean is completely underneath of you. It was exhilarating! It reminded me of owning a boat and hearing that soothing sound of the waves while I’m trying to sleep. Totally relaxing. It is a bright and cheery cottage with lots of light coming in from the windows. There is a small hot tub outside on the deck where you can sit and listen to the waves at night as well. I heard back from the host every time I texted and they were very helpful. The place was clean and has an enclosed deck that wraps around the house. There are sunset views, and you can poke at the tide pools on the beach right in front of the house at low tide. I would love to return to this place.

We had a great time at The Cottage. It is well described in the listing, the place is a great place to chill and enjoy, especially the patio. It has everything you need (the listing mentions no stove but between all the other amenities and grill you can cook most things), is clean and very comfortable. The continental breakfast and cooking basics is a nice touch. We really liked our time there.

This was a perfect location for our mother and daughter getaway! We were able to explore both Sonoma county and Napa Valley. It was lovely that the host provided great dining, shopping and vineyard recommendations. The home was well maintained and the outdoor space was a pleasant place to enjoy at the end of each day.

Our group of three stayed here for a night to enjoy a vineyard experience before making our way to Yosemite. The cottage was clean and well maintained and the hosts were extremely responsive.

What can I say, it was a perfect stay. For me, the mattress and overall sleep quality is very important and I can confidently say these have been THE MOST comfortable beds of any airbnb I’ve stayed in by a mile. Chad has every detail covered and is a great guy. It was a great experience overall, everything was high quality!

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Dennis and Dan’s amazing cottage! The view was amazing and the beach less than a 5 mins walk away. We walked down to the beach for long walks with our dogs twice daily, they had a ball! It’s wonderful to be able to let your dogs run off leash on a beach, there are so few places in CA that you can. We had planned on venturing out but found ourselves glued to the deck people watching, listening to the waves and chilling out. The cottage was immaculate! We’ve never stayed in a place that is so well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The hosts have literally thought of everything! We couldn’t leave without first booking for next year.

The unit was clean, cozy, and right in the heart of incredible nature! The creek is incredible for bird and animal watching, and Colin is a communicative and thorough host. Couldn't recommend more highly!

I had the very BEST stay at Mark's place! Everything about the stay was magical - the cottage was quaint and lovely, surrounded by redwoods. Mark's hospitality was of the very best I have seen...he was so kind, helpful and caring and lovely to talk with during the stay. He cares so much and wants to make sure his guests have the best experience. And wow the baked goods are incredible! This was the best mini retreat I could have imagined..I will definitely be back!

This cottage was lovely! The beds and linens were clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Everything was welcoming and cozy. Gorgeous fresh cut flowers were all around along with a gift of delicious local cheese, fresh fruit and crackers. And there were even treats for the dog. The kitchen and the espresso and coffee makers were perfect. The host was amazing, kind, thoughtful, and responsive. Such a clean, well kept, cozy, and tastefully decorated cottage. We enjoyed our stay very much, everything was perfect and as described…even better!

The Creekside house and extra cottage was ideal for our family. The deck in the middle of redwoods was relaxing for reading. Kitchen was well appointed. We will definitely stay again! Healdsburg is the best small town CA for dining, wine tasting, shopping.

Pictures do not do this place justice. The cabin location is so beautiful and peaceful. Very close to the river and local restaurants. We had a great time!

I can’t say enough positive things about this beautiful home. It was a little bit of magic in Sonoma county, very close to the town center but private and in the valley surrounded by fields. The home was gorgeous with beautiful linens and towels and a perfectly stocked kitchen.

The school house was more than we could have ever expected. It took our breath away the second we pulled up to the property. The kids loved walking up the long drive way and exploring the tree grove. Everywhere we looked there was something even more beautiful to discover. The house itself was stocked and cozy. We felt at home immediately. Lisa was in communication the entire time, everything was ran very smooth. We will definitely be back and for a longer stay! Thanks again for a wonderful stay 🤍 Lauren

Our second visit, loved as much as the first time. Really enjoy the deck, saw families of geese several times during the day and at sunset. Love the view of the beach in the distance and the incredible sunsets. Love the swooping birds around the house and saw quite a few hawks. Very peaceful. Also love that can see the creek and green hillside from the sitting room area. Enjoyed a walk to the beach each day, looking at the creek and the houses along the way. Clam chowder from Spud point restaurant was delicious and once again had an amazing dinner at Terrapin Creek restaurant. Went to the small grocery store nearby for the first time for a few items, well stocked and convenient. Love this getaway place and will be back!

I’d like to start by saying it was amazing my husband and I were celebrating our 20 year wedding anniversary and Linda’s place made it absolutely the vacation we were looking for. Linda was the best host always responsive and had great recommendations. The cottage was so private and had everything you needed for your vacation. The salt water pool was a great way to end an evening after a day of wine tasting and shopping. The kitchen is very well stocked she even has spices. Linda has truly thought of everything and we will most definitely be back. Her husband Mike is so nice and showed us his garden and even gave us some jam to take home. Thank you for sharing your home with us can’t wait to come back already

We really enjoyed our stay here! Beautiful home and garden. Area was easy to navigate and parking was a breeze. Host was incredibly responsive as well. My only regret is we were too early to see the wisteria in bloom! We would stay here again!

You won't find a more peaceful place for a getaway. If you sit in the rocker on the front porch and look out a the mini vineyard, the view will mesmerize you. If you want a more active stay, downtown Sonoma is only 10 minutes away. The kitchen is well outfitted, and there's a grill out back. The grounds are filled with flowers, there are olive trees lining the property (you'll find olive oil from the fruit of these trees in the kitchen cupboard!). Katherine is a wonderful host: warm and friendly; responsive; thoughtful . There are many nice touches around the house, which is comfortably furnished in all the rooms. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you, Katherine!

Such a cute cottage - well appointed with more than expected in terms of the kitchen. Love the swings and outdoor picnic table. So very close to the Lavender Farm we wanted to visit - and we loved the Wild Poppy Cafe, also quite close. It was fun exploring Sebastopol and lovely to have Mary's cottage as a home base.

This is the second trip to Susan's, and it was even better than the first. Use the house as a j jump off point for local mountain biking and oyster consumption, so it is perfectly situated...peaceful, comfortable, and in a beautiful setting. Indeed, the house itself feels like your own, and Susan is wonderful. Help when or if you need it, leaves you alone if you do not. Looking forward to trip #3!
