Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Monterey County

We had a great visit!! Tory was very responsive, and quickly fixed a small issue with the stovetop. We loved the location- easy distance from the aquarium and Point Lobos, and the sunny living room was lovely.

The copper nest was a great place to stay for our long weekend trip. It was ideally situated 30mins drive from UCSC. The beach house exceeded our expectations, and comfortably accommodated 8 guests. All aspects had been thought about by the host, from the detailed text messages pre arrival through to the prevision of supplies, saving the immediate necessity to go basic food shopping. The house was pleasantly furnished with high end product and the beds were so comfortable. The state beach (only foot steps away) was so peaceful, with barely a sole on this stretch. Both hosts were responsive to any issues or questions. Thank you

My husband and I stayed for a couple nights with our 1 1/2 and almost 4 year old boys. The place was so welcoming and perfect for little kids. Right away we felt at home. The boys had so much fun with their toys! The beds were comfortable and the place was super clean and well home was well stocked. Sean had reached out to us to make sure we had everything we needed and to offer any recommendations for local restaurants and things to do. We would definitely stay here again!

This guest house is a great place to stay. Quiet, clean, great outdoor space, and much larger than represented by the photos. Nicely stocked refrigerator and thoughtful touches throughout.

This is the perfect spot to stay if you want to visit Pinnacles National Park and then come home to a warm bed. Don’t get me wrong—I love camping, but we did some tough hikes in the rain so we decided not to rough it. The house is literally 15 min away from parking lots for a lot of the popular park trails. And the property itself is beautiful and offered lots of great birdwatching opportunities. We’ll definitely be back the next time we want to visit the park!

Great place that is only 10 minutes away from Cannery Row. It was relatively clean, though I think the carpets could have been cleaned better and had dog smells. The neighborhood has plenty to do, and many grocery shops or (good!) restaurants in the vicinity. I would stay there again.

We had the pleasure of staying at Anna's Vineyard House in mid-June 2025 with two of our adult children, and it truly exceeded our expectations. This hidden gem was a perfect retreat—spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly peaceful, with breathtaking views in every direction. One of our favorite moments was gathering around the outdoor gas firepit in the evenings, reminiscing about old memories while creating new ones together as a family. We also enjoyed taking scenic walks around the vineyard, spotting condors and rabbits along the way—it felt like something out of a nature film. If you're looking for a quiet, restorative escape with serene mornings and evenings, yet still within easy reach (just 30 minutes) of Pebble Beach and Monterey Bay, Anna’s Vineyard House is exactly where you want to be. We can’t wait to return.

This spot was great for a weekend getaway! Right at the start of Lighthouse Ave where all the shops and restaurants are located. We were able to walk to the beach as well which was lovely. My partner and I felt extremely safe walking around at night as well. The space was very clean and cozy. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Monterey area. We’ll definitely be back as well:)

My husband and I recently stayed in “Fancy Free by the Sea”. It met all of our needs. I loved the way it was decorated and it felt very homey. We appreciated the filtered water in the refrigerator and the available coffee, although we purchased our coffees in town. All in all, very cute, very relaxing space. I would stay there again. I gave it 5 stars.

This place was exactly as described in the listing and the pictures. It had all the conveniences of home that were needed for a small family and is very efficiently laid out. The living area with the huge windows made the space feel open and gave you views of Monterey Bay. It is very conveniently located in Pacific Grove--walkable to Lover's Point Beach and short drive or long walk to Cannery Row or the "downtown." Although the single parking space is tight, it was very convenient to have dedicated parking close by. Check in was very easy, instructions were clearly provided. They had a washer and dryer in the building, which was also convenient for a week long stay. Mermaid Cove is definitely a convenient, comfortable, and peaceful place to stay. I highly recommend it.

Perfect oasis in the beautiful Carmel. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sunset, a perfect place!

Great experience—unique and cozy. If you want to fully immerse yourself in the richness of Carmel culture, this is your place. The bed was so comfortable with quality linens. Everything was clean and ready to go.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Jane’s beautiful property. It was very welcoming and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the patio and fire pit. The location is close to restaurants, Monterey Bay Aquarium and other attractions. Jane was always available and let us park in the driveway if there wasn’t a space nearby in the afternoon. Spaces always opened up so parking was not a problem. I can’t wait to go back! Thank you!

Wonderful condo nestled in the Pajaro Dunes Resort. We traveled with two elementary aged kids and they had a fantastic time. A great family getaway. We brought our own groceries and there was plenty of amenities in the kitchen for eating in every meal. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach and beautiful views from the inside as well. We appreciated having the beach chairs & tennis items. The resort recreation area was a lot of fun and we spent several hours there. Comfortable beds and upgraded furnishings. Overall, a fantastic experience and we can’t wait to return again someday.

Stayed with my husband and parents here for our wedding week that was happening in the area. The place was plenty spacious for 4 people! Much better than a hotel room would’ve been. Gave us quality time cooking in the kitchen and hanging out in the living room, enjoying the hottub & heated pool and the beach! The ocean view from the dining table and the front porch is STUNNING!! The place is nice, well kept, and has everything you need! Any small things that popped up, Patti was helpful and fixed right away! Would definitely stay here again!!

This stay is absolutely amazing. Comfy bed and furniture. Stocked Kitchen. Steps to the beach. Closet full of beachy things. We had fun flying the kite. Built bonfires just over the dune on the beach. 🏖️ Don’t hesitate to book. This place is it.

Staying at this Airbnb was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and thoughtfulness—fresh local flowers, many beautiful books related to the neighborhood in reading material. The space was immaculately clean, beautifully designed, with everything I could need—toiletries to fast Wi-Fi .The host went above and beyond, checking in to ensure everything was perfect. It felt less like a rental and more like a five-star boutique hotel with the heart of a home. I truly didn’t want to leave!” This is a real heartfelt space in the middle of my home town that provided the soulful connection to home.

Everything was just as described - kitchen was well stocked and had the staples which I appreciated - plenty of coffee too! Beach location was wonderful - 5 out of 5!

We’ve stayed at Pajaro Dunes before, but it’s been decades ago. Marc’s place was perfectly situated for privacy and views and was very clean and well appointed. The peacefulness and serenity were exactly what we were looking for. The beachy feel of the furnishings was charming and the unit included all that we needed including an upgraded and well furnished kitchen, a gas fireplace, a comfortable, king size bed and other essentials like extra blankets and a Kuerig coffee maker. Our only difficulty was when inadvertently trying to use the TV remote to change channels…Don’t Do That, Use the cable remote like it says in the instructions. Spent a thoroughly enjoyable four days here with side trips to Monterey and Carmel. Perfect home base for dining out and exploring the coast, and an excellent, proactive host.
