Tethera Nook - a beautifully crafted retreat

Matthew James RichardRating, 5 stars2 days ago
We had a lovely stay at Tethera Nook with our dog Luna! Emma and Craig were brilliant and it was lovely to see them working so hard on their gorgeous garden while we were there! It provided a lovely place to sit with a drink in the mornings! Their very friendly dog Capone always happy to come and say hello! It felt very private the whole week, walking distance to Kendal town, and we even hiked up to Scouts Scar which was recommended in the guide book (the views definitely did not disappoint). Tethera nook had everything we needed for our stay and with it being extremely hot the fan was an added bonus in keeping us and our dog cool! The eggs and veg that Emma leaves out is incredible and the little gifts of brownies, gin and jams on our arrival kept us going for the whole week! Everything was just perfect for our relaxing week away in the lakes, with close links to the rest of the national park! We would absolutely stay here again!

White Scaur Annexe, Bassenthwaite, Lake District

What an incredible weekend. Adrian and Stefania’a place is just beautiful. The grounds of the apartment were private, peaceful and very green. The garden is well maintained and the annex itself was absolutely spotless. You can tell there has been a lot of time and effort put into making it such a beautiful home to make the perfect stay. Adrian and Stefania were very responsive if we needed anything but considering they had already thought of pretty much everything you could possibly need, we managed just fine. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Birch view

Lovely host, incredibly helpful, gave us recommendations of where to visit while we’re in town. Location is stunning with views of the hills. Perfect location situated within all the major trails and a short drive of Keswick - would recommend Ullswater for a swim. Toilets and showers super clean. Cabin itself was cosy and as pictured, just remember to bring lights! 10/10.

Charming handy for Lake District

This was one of our favourite stays during our trip of the Lake District. The cabin has everything you need and we loved the private garden. It’s a short drive to popular towns and is only a short walk to the local pub. We’d highly recommend!

The Ullswater View

MattRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We have just returned home from 4 nights at Julie's ex-guesthouse and we absolutely loved it. We were a group of 5 adults, a 9 year old and 18 month old and there was space for all of us. Each room has its own ensuite and the kitchen is well stocked. The whole place was very clean and the utility room is also massive which helps if you need to do any washing while staying there. We will definitely look to use Julie's place again in the future. Julie replied in good time to any messages and is very friendly. Highly recommend as a great place to get around the Lakes from too.

Ingle Neuk Cottage

Lovely location and easy to find despite how remote. Very good value for money and easy access to Keswick. Would be a lovely stay in summer with the back garden. Would just be aware that it’s very remote and would recommend bringing some tea bags and essentials as these weee not provided and no shop nearby. Other than that it was a fab stay and would stay again :).

Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding

BridgetRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A beautiful house in a lovely setting, great for family get togethers, location right on the lake was amazing, & easy access to lovely local town of Glenridding for essentials. Wide range of facilities at the cottage, we really enjoyed the private outdoor eating area next with the wood fired outdoor grill. Very nice well appointed kitchen with quality appliances, bathrooms clean and with quality fittings. Outside garden/woodland area was perfect for us and our dog, although the many steps and steep paths would not suit everyone, but this factor is clearly explained in the information host provides. We found some rooms a little dark, especially on a rainy day but there are some lovely lamps which can be moved around if required. Overall I would recommend this cottage as a great place to stay & enjoy the lake district and all it has to offer.

2 Bed in Mosedale (SZ218)

This is my first ever time using the Airbnb app and I have to say that this specific bnb was quite possibly the best first impression ever. Not only was it quick to book but the host was extremely quick to give us instructions and directions. Everything was exactly how it said it was going to be and the location couldn't be more picturesque. The road was freshly paved and flat (no problem for low profile cars) and the area has enough parking for 2-3 cars easy. The location is perfect for a drive into keswick or penrith, each being around 20 - 30 mins drive and the light pollution was completely zero as its within a valley. All in all, 10/10 would stay again :)
