Nagano city and Zenkoji Temple are about 20 minutes by car, Togakushi is 20 minutes by car, and Iizuna Resort Ski Area is about 10 minutes by car. In addition, Hakuba and Jigokudani Onsen (snow monkeys) are 1 hour and 30 minutes away by car, and Kurohime and Lake Nojiri are 30 minutes away. In winter, many guests go out to Myoko, Tangram, and Shiga Kogen every day. In winter, a company is contracted to remove snow from public roads. You can also check in with peace of mind in winter! Mimo's Cottage is a renovated pottery studio cottage. It is located in a place where you can enjoy the beautiful nature of Shinano-cho, Nagano Prefecture, which is rich in nature, and there are many magnificent mountains nearby, so you can enjoy various activities such as skiing, trekking, and water sports at Lake Nojiri throughout the year. The cottage has an atrium tatami mat living room for families and friends to gather. The three bedrooms are clean and warm, and all rooms are relaxing. There is a Japanese-style room on the ground floor and a total of 3 bedrooms, 2 large and 1 small, on the second floor. During the snow season, it is in a great location just a 5-minute walk to the 6th lift of the Tangram Ski Circus, with excellent access to the ski slopes. Famous ski resorts such as Myoko area ski resorts, Nozawa Onsen, and Roketa Alpine Resort are also 30-40 minutes away by car. It is the perfect place for those who want to enjoy winter activities. In the green season, you can enjoy water activities such as kayaking, SUP, and fishing at Lake Nojiri, which is a 5-minute drive away. Enjoy the great outdoors of Shinano-cho.

The renovation was attended by Studio Sayapu led by Mr. Kitazawa, an artist based in Nagano.Focusing on Mr. Kitazawa's sensibilities, the company's craftsmen, who bring out the power of the old private house, have worked hard to create a space that is quietly sophisticated while making use of the charm. This house overlooks Lake Nojiri and has a superb view. There are several ski resorts (Myoko, Kurohime, Madarao) about 15-20 minutes away by car, making it a perfect base for winter sports. Enjoy the wood stove sauna and the water bath with a view. There are no private houses around, so you can listen to music and watch movies loudly. Because it is a house located deep in the mountains, we take the best measures, but in the warm season, insects come out. It snows a lot in winter. In autumn, fallen leaves dance. You will also need to adjust the wood stove fire yourself. It's not an easy house to live in, but we promise you a great view and experience. Enjoy cooking with a counter kitchen with a view, condiments and cooking utensils. (There is no equipment for BBQ)

There, you can buy local produce, craft beers & wine, and walk around the beautiful area. We recommend driving to explore more around the highlands and snow tires (or chains) are a must have during winter. We are 1080m above sea level, its cool in summer!
