Cabin holiday rentals in Newberry

It was exactly as advertised. It was very comfortable. It was close to town. It was stocked well with kitchen items. I would definitely stay here again and I would definitely recommend it!

Great place on the river, awesome cabin!

Cabin was just as described! Loved the rocking chairs in the sunroom and the hot tub was amazing! Although we didn’t utilize it, the convenience of firewood available for sale on the property was a great touch!

Place was perfect and private for our anniversary getaway trip. It was clean and well kept! Would stay again if we ever were in the area in the future.

This home was great for our 4 day trip! The space was very clean and tidy, felt like home and extremely welcoming! Accessing markets and restaurants were super easy due to being located close to the interstate and Mackinaw City. The area itself was stunning and beautiful. It’s very peaceful and the outdoor amenities were a plus for relaxing nights after sightseeing all day. Plenty of parking space as well. Luke was very informative and extremely helpful! I highly recommend this area😁.

Everything was super close, we visited all the water falls in the area, we recommend au train falls, such a beautiful underrated area. Danielle was very friendly and communicated very well. We have absolutely no complaints and will definitely be returning.

What a beautiful getaway! Steve was full of knowledge and we enjoyed his company. His dogs were absolutely adorable and the property is gorgeous. Just what we needed!

Perfect fall getaway! Aside from the outhouse (which was not bad at all for an outhouse) you hardly notice you're “off grid.” The solar-powered lights, woodstove & furnace, propane refrigerator, cookstove, and kitchen set-up made it a significant step-above camping. The hosts provide a book of area resources and maps that we found very useful. We wish they would have provided directions to their “secret rock spots.” We enjoyed the base camp and the excitement of daytrips in our Jeep on the backroads — but it was hard to leave the enjoyment of the camp. The setting is breathtaking: the Two Hearted below a stroll by day and a bonfire under the stars at night. What a secret gem!

Nothing but praises for Patricia & John. Out of all of my airBnB stays, the welcoming rustic environment they have created at the Balsams is untouched in comparison to others & holds a special place for us. This was our second stay and it only expanded on the amazing first time we had. Simple things like local suggestions, dvd titles on hand to browse through (no cable or wifi here folks), owners available to just talk added so much to the care of our stay + comforts available. Plus the history of the Balsams alone adds depth for those willing to dig in a little bit on the knowledge provided (check out the cabin binder for more). Thank you both again - we look forward to our next trip & wish you both the best!

Great couple days of snowmobiling! Cabin was close to trails and rentals. So nice to come in with fireplace to warm us. Kitchen and bathroom were well equipped. Really enjoyed the whole experience!!

We stayed for a week and loved our visit. The location is beautiful and having a canoe and kayaks were great for exploring the lake. Tony was very easy to work with and very responsive. We strongly recommend staying here!!

This was a hidden gem!! We wish we would have booked another day to just explore the cabin and all it had to offer! We will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful stay. Susan was very helpful with local recommendations and very quick to respond to any questions we had. Great location for snowmobiling. Very central location to head in all directions. We rode right from there and put on about 500 miles in 3 days. Very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful time! The cabin/location was everything we hoped for and needed. Each boy had their own room- always a plus. Beds were comfortable. We loved drinking our morning coffee/hot chocolate while watching ducks float by on the river. Evening campfires were perfect. Even spent time laying in my youngest son’s “secret” soft moss patch and finding clouds shaped like animals. Close enough to drive to Lake Superior each day to find agates. Went to snowmobile, great house, easy to get to trails, great drive way to pull a trailer into and turn around at the house, made things very easy...will stay there again, thank you...

perfect for what we were looking for. a great get away and place to unplug. would recommend for anyone looking to have a central location between all the hotspots of the UP. thank you steve and mary!

The place was quite clean and looked just like the pictures. Great location. I do however wish I would have not booked this on AirBNB and instead gone to their website directly and booked it...why you ask? Well, they charge an additional $70 fee for 'damage insurance' on top of all the AirBNB fees that are already baked in. If you don't want to pay the $70, you have the option to do a $1250 damage deposit (yes, that is correct!) on top to be refunded some days after they inspect the property. Just seems like they could be much more transparent about these additional fees on top of an already higher priced (for the area) property.

This was the most adorable cabin in a beautiful, remote location. We appreciated all of the amenities provided (fire pit being set up and gas grill), along with extra firewood if needed! There were things provided we did not remember, such as marshmallow sticks!! Not To mention the most comfortable beds - this was so nice to come back to after a day of exploring. Additionally, we appreciated the recommendations for restaurants, sites to see, and grocery stores! While watching movies, we loved the tv speakers and Bluetooth speaker to listen to music while cooking. Diane and Allen responded so quickly with any questions we had and it gave us such peace of mind. The area itself is gorgeous and we definitely want to visit again! Thank you Diane and Allen!!!!

Kim is an outstanding host, she not only sends you a plethora of great local spots/major attractions, but also has a binder packed full of brochures, maps, and Michigan info. The cabin itself was clean & cozy, and it just felt like home. We arrived after dark, and were greeted with a warm glow from the lamps, and porch lights. It’s the perfect spot to get away from everything, but still be in a location to do touristy things. The stars are absolutely phenomenal, and the outdoor shower is really clever! The property is beautiful. There’s a good selection of games/dvd’s. We watched Narnia the night before our departure, which was perfect because we planned on stopping at Bush Bay Trail (Narnia) on our way home! The kitchen has an abundance of cookware, dishes, and utensils. You can tell someone who actually cooks stocked it. Perfect if you plan on bringing your own food. The homemade jam was delicious, and very thoughtful!

This cabin is absolutely lovely. Located on the shores of Lake Superior, the daily views are picture perfect. The cabin is cozy and clean, with ample cooking supplies. I booked this spot for a girls trip with my sisters and everyone had a most enjoyable vacation. I will definitely be vacationing here again!

We loved our stay! It was so quiet and peaceful. The cabin is so nice! It is very well built. Decorated tastefully with a woodsy theme. Everything was clean! Plenty of household essentials. There were games, puzzles, coloring books, and crosswords, for both young and old. Comfortable couches and beds, and a large dining table that worked well for games and puzzles. The setting is AMAZING! Nobody around. Trees surrounding the cabin. Nice fire pit and chairs on the porch. It was a slice of paradise.
