English Country Cottage

An ultimate English cottage with nearby Highclere Castle a 10 minute drive away. Lovely walks and pubs nearby and shopping in Newbury town centre. A lovely retreat for couples, friends, artists, writers, and those just looking for a peaceful getaway. The cottage is NOT suitable for children under 12 years of age because of the spiral staircase and pond. NO pets because we have severe allergies. The have fibre optic WiFi, so most of the time it’s brilliant. ***The cottage has very low ceilings.

Hawks Barn is a refurbished, self contained, two bedroom getaway, located a stones throw from Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey). Surrounded by stunning views and walks, the barn is just 10 minutes from Newbury and Whitchurch station to Paddington and Waterloo. Opposite the main house, with parking for 2 cars, the barn has a king bedroom and a twin bedroom, and a small bathroom. Downstairs is a modern sitting room with a 7-seater sofa, large TV, fully fitted kitchen, and a dining and work space.

Ideally situated quiet annex close to Newbury

Situated just outside the village of Highclere and a few minutes drive from Highclere Castle. We are a 10 minute drive to the centre of Newbury and 15 minutes from the M4 (J13). The Annex enjoys rural outlooks over Highclere Estate to the front and Great Pen Wood to the rear. It is a first floor separate annex providing privacy during your stay. The newly decorated cosy two bedroom cottage has a kitchen, sitting area, a separate modern bright bathroom. Private outside space is also available.

Lovely self-contained annex with outdoor space

A lovely self-contained annex furnished to a high standard in a quiet rural location on the Berkshire/Hampshire border, close to Newbury and Oxford and walking distance to Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey). Fenced secluded garden area with seating and BBQ for outdoor dining. The Annex is completely separate from our house with its own entrance and there's an allocated parking space for one car. Well behaved dogs are always welcome and there are some lovely walks on our doorstep.

The Annexe offers a unique, positive environment. Renovated to very high standards, it is an ideal country retreat or a relaxing space after a hard day at work. It’s location is rural but super fast fibre optic broadband installed. The nearest town is Newbury - about 5 minutes drive away. In addition, it is only a 10 minute drive to Highclere Castle, of Downton Abbey fame. Horris Hill school is within walking distance and St Gabriel’s a 2 minute drive.
