Driving instead? The expressway exit is 4 minutes away and two parking spaces are free. Either way, Toshogu is about 15 minutes by car, Edo Wonderland 16, Lake Chuzenji 30 — and Tokyo about 2 hours. 🍜 Dinner is a stroll, not a drive Within walking distance: a long-loved unagi restaurant, a proper sushi bar, yakitori, ramen, a shaved-ice legend in season — and a small sake brewery founded in 1880 that welcomes visitors. The roadside station with a bakery, souvenirs and a 7-Eleven is walkable too, and a supermarket sits nearby if you’d rather cook. Nikko is rich in nature, so — as with any stay in this area — an insect may occasionally find its way in, especially late summer to autumn. Walls carry sound the way apartments do, so quiet hours start at 21:00; insulation is modest, so summers can feel warm and winters crisp — aircon and blankets are ready. If you prefer hotel-grade silence and climate control, I'll honestly say a hotel may suit you better. But if you'd like to live a few days the way this town does, you'll be very comfortable here. 👥 Who sleeps where · Bedroom 1 — two single beds + work desk · Bedroom 2 — one queen bed + work desk · Living — a sofa bed, used for the 5th and 6th guests For 5–6 guests the apartment feels snug and sociable; for 4 or fewer, it feels just right. 🌙 Why I run this place Nikko is the town I love most in the world. Close to Tobu Shim-Imaichi Station, you might even hear the steam whistle of the Taiki if you're lucky in the evening. 8-tatami Japanese-style room (bamboo room), 6-tatami Japanese-style room (temple style), 8-tatami living room (retro style) IH kitchen, microwave, toaster, rice cooker, fridge, washing machine, gas dryer, etc. are fully equipped, so you can use this place as a base for sightseeing in Nikko, Kinugawa, Ashio, and Kuriyama. There is also a parking lot, making it ideal for touring with fellow bikers. Breakfast is a free loaf of freshly baked bread (home bakery). Mountain Biking, Calligraphy, Games, BBQ (The usage fee for charcoal is 2,000 yen per use. Dishes are available for rent, so please prepare your ingredients at a nearby supermarket.)
