Farmstay holiday rentals in Nova Scotia

We had a wonderful stay at Ruth’s place in Margaree Valley—a beautiful, serene location just off the Cabot Trail and close to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Easy drives to Egypt Falls, Cheticamp, and Ingonish. The house was well-equipped for our family of four, and the 3-season room was perfect for enjoying the outdoors while staying protected from bugs and weather. There’s a short walk to the river near the bridge. No cell service, but the Starlink WiFi worked great. Ruth was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Heads up: gas stations are sparse and many close early without self-serve—when we visited, the only self-serve in Cheticamp was out of gas. Mosquitos and black flies were in full force, but bug spray (provided!) helped. Our kids loved the games and puzzles inside during rainy moments. Highly recommend to families looking to unwind in nature—we’d happily stay here again!

We had a lovely stay at Melanie's cottage. The cottage was very spacious, clean and had absolutely everything that we needed. (bottle of wine was a nice touch) Melanie was very responsive to our questions and responded right away. The cottage is on a busy street but is relatively quiet when you are on the beautiful front deck. We would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to explore the area.

We had an amazing time at this unique guesthouse! The home had so much character and the hosts were great! Breathtaking views, and peaceful, quiet location. Awesome walking trail to take it all in!

Our group was extremely happy to find this gem for accommodations for the Wharf Rat Rally! We had 3 1/2 couples in our group and there was plenty of room for all of us and our gear. It is located realtively close to Digby and the ride to and from was absolutely wonderful! We were happy to find plenty of rooms, a fully stocked kitchen, 2 spacious bathrooms and a diningroom large enough to fit us all. The property and views were beautiful as well. It was a great place to relax after a long day of riding. Last but not least, our hosts were amazing! They made sure our stay was the best! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Meine Familie (4 erwachsene Personen) und ich hatten erst eine andere Unterkunft für Prince Edward Island gebucht und wurden bitter enttäuscht, sodass wir ziemlich schnell wechseln mussten. Zach hat uns spontan am selben Tag noch persönlich empfangen und seine Unterkunft kann ich sehr empfehlen: es sieht genauso aus wie auf den Fotos - wie in einem Pinterest Board oder „schöner wohnen“- Katalog. Zach hat das ganze Haus mit so viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und dabei wirklich auf nichts vergessen: die Küche ist super ausgestattet, es gibt viele gut riechende Handtücher, ein gutes Wlan.. Das Haus hat eine beeindruckende Aussicht, einen magischen Lichteinfall und eignet sich auch besonders gut für schöne Fotos/Videos. Wir haben uns gleich wie zuhause gefühlt und werden definitiv wiederkommen. Besonders gut hat uns gefallen, dass überall schöne Blumenbouquets aufgestellt waren.

What a beautiful place to stay! Andra had clear directions laid out for us, since the service is spotty on the way, and it was very easy for us to find! Private, quiet, and just an overall wonderful stay. Andra was quick to help us with anything we needed during our stay. Nice open concept and great for the kiddos. Would definitely stay again!

Picturesque accommodations that were spacious, very clean and totally relaxing. Although it was “in the woods”; it was easy to find and had ample parking. Warm temperatures and sunny skies allowed us to take full advantage of its location - so near to Baddeck and The Cabot Trail. The owner lives on the property and was able to respond very quickly to requests.

The cabin was exactly as described, very clean and the view was absolutely stunning! The bed was comfortable and clean which is always important when we travel. The instructions on how to get to the cabin were very clearly stated and it was easy to find. The road is abit rough going right into the area but we knew that before (only about 1km so not an issue). The location can’t be beat and we took full advantage of the chairs by the ocean and the picnic table for dinner. Great place to stay!

Shonna's place was compact, very efficient and comfortable. It is exactly as shown in the pictures. We really enjoyed our short stay there and would highly recommend it. Darlene and Terry

My partner and I stayed at the Wintergreen yurt while in the area for a weekend trip. It is clear how much thought and care Patrick and Dorothée have put into the place. Although we visited in October and the temperatures were low, we were cozy warm the entire time. It was such a peaceful reset.

Completely amazed by our time at Alexa’s farm. The property was absolutely stunning. The hosts gave us a tour of the land when we arrived, and the farm animals were so sweet. The trailer was super cozy, and our sleep was peaceful—with the windows cracked, we could hear the sounds of the river and wildlife outside. We really appreciated all the care and thought the hosts put into the space. It was stocked with so many thoughtful amenities—everything you could possibly need!

We felt like we had a break from the world. It was peaceful, very cozy, charming, and comfortable. We slept like babies, even though it was cooler weather and we had to put wood in the stove for heat (something we enjoyed immensely). Kitchen was reasonably equipped, so we just cooked our own meals. If you’re ok with a few bugs and spiders here and there (nothing dangerous), you’ll love it. We plan to be back.

Staying at Clarke & Shelley’s was great! The place was very nice, tidy and clean. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. There was shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. The rooms were spacious and the windows let in a lot of natural light. The place felt very private, as there is nobody else living in the house (the top floor is just for storage). Great to see the sun setting over the sea on a cloudless evening. Shelley was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable.

We had a fantastic stay. the river water was already warm and shallow for wading. Bring water shoes if you want to go in. there is also a magical playground in a pine forest designed by children. Jessica and Allan are very friendly and excellent hosts. a vase of flowers greeted us as we walked in. space had everything we needed. the large bed was super comfortable and there were fireflies at night!!!!

Nancy Elizabeth's cottage was absolutely perfect for what I needed. I travelled solo and it was a cozy place to rest and relax. It was only minutes from Hopewell Rocks. I felt right at home. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well in the peaceful surroundings. I would totally recommend this cottage if one is visiting the Hopewell Cape area.

Sharon’s riverside cottage was a great end to our NS vacation. We spent many hours enjoying all the amazing seating areas on the property, but especially enjoyed coffee and meals down on the water. Sharon made us feel at home and was the most amazing host we’ve had throughout our stay. We would recommend this beautiful cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing location on Cape Breton.

Shobac farm is a unique architectural and farm experience. It was great to have gaffs point and Hirtle’s beach within hiking distance. The sheep were a constant fascination for our pup. Appreciated having access to a lap pool, steam shower and sauna. Thoroughly enjoyed having a wood fire and enjoying and vast country side views from the gatehouse.

We absolutely loved our stay. The home was exactly as is pictured online, but the views were better in person. The house was clean and spacious and had everything a family could need to cook and be comfortable. The hosts were incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with. We hope to be able to stay again someday!

A spacious place with wide window views of the Minas Basin and Cobequid Bay, beyond the late spring growth of the owners’ vineyard. It was always quiet, with a beautiful country road providing quick access to Port Williams and just five minutes to Wolfville — ideal for jogging, running, or cycling. We would have liked to have stayed longer!

We loved our time at this airbnb with the family! it was a beautiful view and the home was so cozy 😍 Our family enjoyed our stay and it was extremely well stocked. we especially enjoyed the baby swing they had for our 6 week old. Hosts are great, we highly reccomend!

We had a great time at the Point House. The house gave us panoramic views of the cove and pond. Hot tub a plus. Emma was very generous, friendly and welcoming.

GORGEOUS home with nice big windows making everything bright and sunny. PRISTINE, everything was so clean and tidy. 4 big bedrooms and two bathrooms made for lots of space for our group. Perfect kitchen space/table to sit around for meals or to play board games … outside space was PERFECT, lots of seating, nice clean hot tub for us to enjoy. Couldn’t have been better. Had a wonderful time and made some great memories!
