The Kyoto Machiya, which forms the beautiful scenery of Kyoto, has been remodeled into a building with high airtightness and thermal insulation performance so that you can spend comfortably in the hot and humid summers and cold winters unique to Kyoto, while retaining the structure of the time. From the Japanese-style room on the first floor, you can see the "roji" (the garden leading to the tea room) and the image of the tsubo garden. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts.
