As a base for sightseeing in Azumino, Hakuba, and Kamikochi, you can enjoy a comfortable stay for one night or for extended periods. Access to Hakuba, Kamikochi, and Tateyama-Kurobe is also good, making it suitable for group trips, family trips, and long-term stays.With a washing machine and bathroom dryer, it's comfortable for extended stays. You can also get here by public transportation, but having a car is more convenient. Free pick-up and drop-off are available at Shinano-Matsukawa Station and Akashina Station.Other transportation and sightseeing transfers are available for 2,000 to 8,000 yen (both ways) depending on the distance, for trips within 2 hours one way.For groups of 5 or more, please consult in advance as we can arrange a rental car. Located in the town next to Narai-juku, a post town on the Nakasendo, it has a historic townscape that has flourished as a production area for Kiso lacquerware since the Edo period. It was built in 1931 in this town, which has been designated as a Jūdenden Kenpon Zone and still has lacquerware shops lining the streets. Our house is available for rent as a whole, limited to one group per day, without meals. It takes a little time to get around, and there are no supermarkets or convenience stores in this area, but I think that's why this place has quietness and the beauty of casual, simple everyday life. I would be happy if you could stay as if you were living in this good old town, reading, taking walks, enjoying local drinks (sake, wine), sleeping in and waking up slowly. It is an old house in a mountain valley, and there are no screen doors, so in the warm season, wildlife may come in. The 95-year-old building is not polished to a high shine down to the last detail. We are preparing to welcome you with the house as clean as possible, but we would appreciate it if you could come with an open mind. We use the accommodation fees we receive from guests to repair the building, and I would like to take care of this wonderful house for about 20 years so that it can be passed on to the next generation.

The 20-tatami living room has a sunken hearth (currently unavailable) and you can enjoy the old Japanese private house. There are 3 bedrooms, so you can stay with a large number of people, such as family and friends. No meals are provided. You are welcome to use the full kitchen freely. There is a backyard at the end of the dirt floor that continues from the entrance, and you can walk around freely. Good access to Shimosuwa Station! We renovated an 80-year-old Japanese house into a traditional and clean space. (New open in 2023!) You can spend a comfortable time by renting the entire building. Recommended for families, couples and small groups. This area is rich in history and nature. Suwa Taisha Shrine, hot springs, Nakasendo. Hiking in the mountains and strolling around Lake Suwa are also recommended ways to spend your time. It's also great to explore the Suwa area on a rental bicycle.

Just 10 minutes from downtown Matsumoto, Yokoya Farm is a family-run working apple farm in the countryside. Our private kura (Japanese storehouse), next to our family home, was renovated into a guesthouse in 2018. Enjoy the unique experience of staying in a real farmer's kura with the entire building all to yourselves. Our apple orchard is about a 5-minute walk away. During the apple season (late August to mid-November), you're welcome to enjoy complimentary apple picking.
