The house is fully equipped and is located in the middle of Steinlandsfjorden at the foot of Langøya's highest mountain, Snykolla. In the fjord outside the house there are opportunities for good fishing from the jetty. The house is located close to the popular tourist destination Dronningruta and the fishing village Nyksund. It is also a good location as a base for exploring both Lofoten, Bø, Hadsel and Andøya.

Farmorhuset passer best for inntil 5 gjester, men kan romme 6 ved bruk av ekstra madrass på ett av soverommene.
