Artistic Cabin in the Forest was a great place to stay for my wife traveling alone. Here is her review: Anzu was attentive and kind. The cabin felt very private and safe. I had everything I needed. The bed was perfectly comfortable. The front porch was a great place for morning coffee and watching the sun rise or hanging out any time of day or evening. And the view of the gardens was so beautiful. I appreciated the supplies provided for every need, for the kitchen and beyond. I also appreciated all of the ways the host made my stay more comfortable, including the lovely art on the walls. And It was convenient to get to Hilo, Pahoa or up to Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. Next time I am in the area I would definitely stay here again.

What an amazing place to stay! I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to visit the Volcanoes National Park and the beaches near Hilo. Especially for animal lovers, don't hesitate to make a reservation. Rachael's dogs, cats, and a pig (!) would not disappoint you every time you come in and out of the unit.
