House holiday rentals in Orrest Head

We had an amazing stay! The cottage was just as described and in the perfect location so we hardly had to use the car at all and were able to walk to Windermere, Bowness and Brockhole with our two girls ( 13 and 8). The use of the nearby pool was an added bonus after a day in the mountains. We’ll definitely be back! 😀

This place was beyond our expectations. Immaculately presented, super clean, tidy, jaw dropping views. I can't fault it in any way and I can't rate it highly enough. Will definately look to return in the future. Stunning!

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Badgers Rest. The home was beautifully clean, had everything we needed and in a great location. The facilities were amazing nearby too.

The lodge was fabulous, really enjoyed our stay. I even picked up a couple of decor ideas. Had a lovely time feeding the ducks, swans and other wildlife, very relaxing. Shops and amenities easy to get to by car, lovely restaurants around the area. Would absolutely recommend.

I'd stay at Jackie's place again whenever I next visit no question. Good price, and the place is exactly as she's described. And whenever I messaged her she always responded back to me within 30mins at most which is excellent

House was as described, beautiful setting with wonderful views of the hills and mountains. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and bathrooms are nicely finished with good showers. Kitchen is a good size and has all required implements. A great location for exploring the central lakes and soaking up all that Ambleside has to offer.

Our family had a lovely stay at Burrowbank at the end of the summer holiday. The house is fantastic with all the facilities you could ask for. The kids loved the swings and most of all the pool, while the covered (heated) BBQ area meant evening meals outside watching the sunset. Great location and setting, very private and we would definitely come again and recommend to others. Martyn and Christine were very helpful and went the extra mile (even posting my daughter’s disposable camera that she left behind). Can’t think of any negatives and we made some great/happy memories.

Debs is an absolutely wonderful host, so helpful and provided a beautifully clean and welcoming home for our stay. Easy location for shops, restaurants. Highly recommend

Wow, wow, wow. Absolutely perfect! Delightful cottage in a peaceful, private location but a short distance from Windermere and Bowness. The property was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Stunning views. We are already planning our next stay!

We did a lot of different activities in the Lake district but the house was the highlight of our trip, we’d have been happy just to spend the whole time in the house. The house has been designed to get the most out of the views and the decor is amazing too, it is really clean and feels brand new. I’d say it is definitely worth paying a bit more to stay here over anywhere else in the local area, and we will be returning at some point in the future, we miss the house already. Also Team Laik and the owners are all fantastic, communicate well and make everything easy, so if you haven’t used Airbnb before I’d go with these, you can use the messaging system on the app and get a response almost straight away should you have any questions.

This little cottage is beautiful. The location is amazing to get around the lakes, it was so peaceful, we loved listening to the birds. We had lovely weather which helped, we were able to sit out the front and admire the beautiful view. the inside of the cottage has high end fixtures and fittings, the kitchen was very well equipped and the oven and microwave were very clean. The bathroom was spotless which was great, as so many other airbnbs have mouldy bathrooms. The reed diffusers also smelt lovely. The bed was comfy and the big fluffy towel were great. The bottle of prosecco was much appreciated 😊. I would recommend this property to anyone but be aware it is very small, I'm not sure it is big enough for more than 2 adults and a baby/toddler. I do also think it is slightly overpriced but I guess that is due to location and the view. Having said that I would love to go back.

We had a lovely stay in Alastair's home. The home is centrally located a short walk from Windermere train station and in close proximity to local pubs and restaurants. Grocery shops are 3 minutes away where you can get everything you need. There is also a bus stop from where we could take buses to surrounding towns, the start of multiple hiking routes, and the beautiful lakes. The house was clean and tidy, beds were amazing, and everyone appreciated the personal touches such as tea, coffee, hot chocolate and fresh milk as well as a collection of local hiking maps. Alastair was the perfect host, we could check in and out using a lockbox, when we asked him about local recommendations, he responded immediately, had a wealth of knowledge about the local mountain trails, and went out of his way to accommodate our needs and ensure that we enjoy our time. It was easy to give our stay a five start review, and I hope to come back again in the future.

A really lovely Airbnb set in a lovely location conveniently situated about 15 minutes walk from Windermere town Centre We found the property to be exactly as described in the reviews and we couldn’t fault the place.Everything we needed was at hand and the amenities at the property were really excellent.. The house was spotlessly clean, modern and excellently maintained. We found the lovely secluded garden a lovely place to meet for afternoon/evening drinks in the sunshine.. We did experience very cool and inclement weather for the month of June and the addition of Sky/Netflix TV and central heating a great addition for our holiday.. The host was very accommodating and easy to contact at the end of a text or a telephone call. Would I recommend this property? Absolutely !! It’s just a really lovely Airbnb

I don't think we could have found anywhere better to stay in Bowness-on-Windermere. The apartment is very spacious and immaculately clean. It is fully equipped, well furnished and tastefully decorated. An electrical fault with the boiler was resolved soon after arrival by the owner with good communication through our host Hannah. The location is excellent within easy walk to all shops, bars and restaurants and there is a bus stop outside the door. The car parking space was also very useful. I highly recommend you stay here. An excellent, comfortable and quiet apartment convenient to all you need. Great shower, comfortable beds and plenty of towels provided. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing 2 nights at Lizzy’s place! It was warm and cosy, TV had Netflix and Disney which kept us so entertained at night! Location was the best! Convenient and close walking distance to everything!! Loved it, thank you!

Such a gorgeous stay away in Cumbria, the place was so tidy and cozy, it had everything you could need - so many amenities! It is located inbetween other buildings but still managed to feel very private, and had stunning views around. It is quite remote and is single track roads down to the property however the hosts were really clear and answered any questions about where we can park etc. It is also only a short drive to either Kendal or Windermere, so really convenient location for a nice day out! We can’t thank the hosts enough for such a lovely stay, would definitely recommend ☺️

A very rare find in the lakes! Beautifully presented property which a huge amount of space. A great base for families or small groups of friends keen to explore the surrounding areas. Sarah was a perfect host, helping us with whatever we needed throughout the stay. We’ll do our very best to return!

Lovely very clean accommodation. Towels and bedding immaculate, bed comfortable, kitchen seemed well equipped. We had a one night stay and only made drinks as we ate out. On site parking was a great bonus. We walked into Bowness for the evening but much of the road does not have pavement so got a taxi back.

The house is in a beautiful, peaceful location perfect for walking in the area. The kitchen very well equipped, comfortable bedrooms. The views from the lounge and the patio are absolutely stunning. The furnishings are a little sparse in the lounge also the stove is difficult to operate ( we did not manage) but overall we had a great time and we would highly recommend this place.

We have just returned home from 4 nights at Julie's ex-guesthouse and we absolutely loved it. We were a group of 5 adults, a 9 year old and 18 month old and there was space for all of us. Each room has its own ensuite and the kitchen is well stocked. The whole place was very clean and the utility room is also massive which helps if you need to do any washing while staying there. We will definitely look to use Julie's place again in the future. Julie replied in good time to any messages and is very friendly. Highly recommend as a great place to get around the Lakes from too.

We had a wonderful stay here and made amazing memories. The surroundings were stunning, and we felt right at home. We loved the cottage and the little touches made the stay even better - the brownies were to die for. Rosie was a great host, and we’d love to come back in the near future.

Fantastic accommodation! Great location - a short walk (5-10 min) to Bowness town centre and with its own private parking space. Very peaceful (and private) surroundings with superb garden and outdoor decking with beautiful views over Lake Windermere. Property was very clean and comfortable, with great facilities (dishwasher, washing machine, log burning stove, very comfy beds) throughout. Hosts were extremely responsive and helpful, both before and during our stay. Can't recommend highly enough.
