Family-friendly holiday rentals in Otonabee-South Monaghan

My friends and I had a great time at Elias' cottage! The cottage was so comfortable with plenty of seating room, enough bedrooms (with super comfy beds!), and a great screened in porch. Unfortunately we didn't have great weather, but we spent the majority of our time in the covered hot tub which was amazing. We look forward to coming back soon!!

What a great spot The Rogers Retreat is! Such cozy spaces inside for family hangouts, and a beautiful view of the lake. We appreciated all the amenities and comfy furniture. It was the perfect backdrop to our cousins' reunion. Chris was a welcoming host - very accessible and great communication. Thanks for everything!

We really enjoyed our stay at Erica and Adam’s place. There’s so much to do in and around the cottage,it’s a great spot for a relaxing getaway with plenty of options to stay active too. At one point, the water went out, but they were super responsive and had it fixed in less than 30 minutes, which was impressive and very appreciated. The dishwasher wasn’t working quite right, but honestly, it wasn’t a big deal for us. Overall, a cozy, fun place with great hosts who clearly care.

Carola was very responsive whenever we needed to message her, which wasnt often. Her air b&b had everything we needed for a comfortable stay while we were 4 hours away from home. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and show her passion and pride for her property. There were a couple minor hiccups that were out of anyones control during our stay and she rectified them right away while also keeping us informed, and were not inconvenienced by the hiccups at all. The condition, location and her communication made our stay totally worth it. We rented the hot tub and it was a beautiful treat with the typical May 2/4 weather fluctuating. Carola added in thoughtful comforts hanging at the entrance to make our stay that much more enjoyable, it was thoughtful, sweet and appreciated. This is a must stay at location. We will definitely be back!

We just spent 5 nights at the postmaster's house and we had a wonderful time. Communication with Trevor was easy and everything was as described. The location is fantastic for a vacation, even with our 2 year old son. The environment around the house and the view from the backyard is very calming. We would, without hesitation, stay there again!!!

Sarah’s property is one of the best I’ve stayed at so far. Everything from the warm hospitality and peaceful ambience to the top-notch amenities and the thoughtful organization of the space was absolutely perfect. The quality of every detail truly stood out, and the team was absolutely great, friendly, responsive, and professional throughout. A must visit for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful and refreshing getaway.

We stayed a weekend in May. The place is immaculate and the view is beautiful, exactly like the pictures! Because it rained intermittently and cool we didn’t get to use the outdoor amenities including the firepits. The trail towards the back of the property around the pond was washed out due to the amount of rain we have been getting. It didn’t dampen our weekend though but we look forward to coming back and explore. We enjoyed outings like brunch in Sterling and a water buffalo farm 3 minute drive from the house which had great gelato. We also walked around the main road the house was on and met a few friendly neighbours. The hot tub was great and so was sitting on the deck having a drink and taking in the beautiful scenery. The beds were comfortable and each bedroom had their own bathroom. All amenities were there including the kitchen - we cooked 2 dinners and found everything we needed. Overall a great choice if you are looking for a place to relax with a view, this is it.

my stay at Mrinals place was amazing! it looks exactly like the photos and was so clean. my family stayed here before moving out of the country and it was literally stocked with anything you’d need! anything we needed in the kitchen they had as well as laundry detergent and cleaning supplies. there was so many extra towels, sheets, and bedding. the check in was super easy and everything was exactly like the photos. The driveway has good space as well, me and my family were able to fit 2 SUV’s. Mrinal was an amazing host and very responsive and kind. I highly recommend!

Beautiful cottage with a spectacular view of the lake! Very quiet and peaceful for rest and relaxation. The fireplace made the cottage even more cozy on some very cold winter days during our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the entire cottage was well set up for a relaxing atmosphere. Everything was easy to find and anything you could possibly need was there. We loved that amenities like grocery stores and restaurants were close by and easily accessible.

We love the location of this cabin on the lake. It was perfect for us with great access. The cabin is well appointed very clean and had everything we needed. We would enjoy coming back again.

My husband and I, along with our two adventurous pups, absolutely loved our cozy cottage escape in the Kawarthas! This place had everything we needed for a peaceful and relaxing retreat. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of privacy, even in a small neighborhood—those tall bushes really made it feel like our own little hideaway. Our dogs were in heaven, running around the beautifully manicured backyard with plenty of space to explore. Inside, the cottage was just as charming, with adorable, cozy bedrooms and a kitchen stocked with everything we needed, whether we were grilling outside or whipping up a delicious meal indoors. The kitchen appliances were spotless and felt brand new. And the view from the living room? Simply stunning! We spent countless hours just soaking in the beautiful lakeside scenery right from the comfort of the couch. Although we didn’t get as much fishing in as we’d hoped, we’re already planning our next trip back! Big thanks to Mel & Stu!

Our stay at Stoney Lake was nothing short of amazing, thanks to the incredible hospitality of Patti and Dennis. From the moment we arrived, they were exceptionally welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our experience was perfect. The beauty of Stoney Lake left our family in awe, and Dennis was kind enough to give us a memorable boat tour, which we will cherish. The suite was impeccably designed, providing a relaxing atmosphere that truly felt like a home away from home. We made full use of the amenities, enjoying the fire pit, BBQ grill, and badminton net. The beach was beautifully maintained, and we couldn’t resist spending hours there, making the most of everything it had to offer.

Robyn is an excellent, responsive host and we had a nice stay at the property. The views of the lake are amazing. The cottage itself is a little dated with some small scuffs here and there (like peeling paint, one of the steps is wobbly but the host assured us this is getting fixed very soon), but nothing major. The baseboard heaters worked well. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Overall an excellent stay

Natalia and Evgeney were great hosts. They were both very responsive, friendly, and accommodating. Check-in was flexible and easy thanks to Evgeney, who did a great job at setting us up with our cabin. The cabin itself was exactly as advertised. We found it to be very clean. The view of Rice Lake from our cabin was great, and the area is really peaceful and quiet. Overall, we had a great time here! It was a perfect relaxing weekend.

We just returned from a weekend with our extended family at Crossroads of the County. The home is beautiful, extremely clean and has everything you can think of. Kitchen is stocked with utensils and spices making it easy to make your own food there. The location itself is also a quick drive to anywhere you want to go in the area. We loved how kid friendly the location was with toys for the kids, and even plates and cups + playpen and high chair making it a lighter packing trip for us. We would definitely (and hope to!) return again!

Margaret seemed very nice, she left croissants in the kitchen for us to have in the morning. Overall a very cozy spot to stay and we had no issues. One thing I noticed is that there's an adjoining door that connects from her side of the building to ours and I'm not sure if it locks, maybe it does but I didn't see a lock option on my side. Anyway it still felt private and we definitely got what we paid for.

Enjoyed being in the country. The place was very spacious, big kitchen with everything you need & the beds were comfortable. Stephen was a great host, very responsive and being close by, he was able to help with anything you need. The place is well situated between Port Perry and Uxbridge.

Heather’s house was a fantastic place to spend the weekend in PEC! The house and property were beautiful, spotless and came stocked with any and every amenity you might need. The location was also great as it was private but still close to many wineries. Heather was friendly, informative and responsive and made the entire process easy. We would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a getaway in the county!

We had a great time Gord’s place!The cabin is spacious, cozy, and functional with a fully equipped kitchen and two full bathrooms. Great location with easy access to the pool and a beautiful view of the lake where you can enjoy stunning sunsets right from the deck. The grounds are meticulously maintained with beautiful flowerbeds and ample lakeshore space, very quiet,creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Gord and his family are exceptional hosts—friendly, respectful, accommodating, and quick to respond to any questions we had. Gord even offered a flexible check-in time and provided two heaters for a couple of chilly nights. His local recommendations for nearby attractions were also greatly appreciated. Additionally, their thoughtful gesture of providing a play kitchen structure with toys made our toddler incredibly happy. We highly recommend Gord’s place to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. Thank you for a memorable stay—we look forward to returning!
