Fitness-friendly holiday rentals in Outer Banks

The cabin was clean and well managed. There was enough beds to sleep 6 and if we consider the sofa bed it can be 8. The location is good and very near to shops and restaurants. The only limitation would be the low and slanted ceiling in the living room and foyer. The host was very responsive and helpful.

Our family had a wonderful trip to Manteo - and Faryn's place was fantastic. Great location with beautiful views. The condo was very clean and comfortable. Faryn was very helpful and responsive and helped make our vacation a relaxing, stress-free week! We hope to come back another time.

Lynn was extremely responsive and helpful. The neighbors upstairs were extremely loud, and Lynn was very helpful in resolving that. My kids enjoyed their time at the beach, and we had all the room we needed.

We loved our stay at James’ condo. The location is away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to get to everything within minutes. The condo itself is directly across from the pool, which was perfect for us. Our kids loved walking around the marina and watching all the boats. The condo is updated, very clean, and had everything we needed. James was very responsive with any questions we had. We can’t wait to go back!

Such a great location and apt. Super cute and lots of kitchen equipment for making something at home or reheating leftovers. Close to downtown Manteo which was super fun. Love the beach island vibes of it all. The property is awesome. Very dog and kid friendly.

Loved our stay here. Great place to get away for a quick weekend to enjoy the Outer Banks in the fall. The proximity to the beach and the bit of a view we had was great (even saw some dolphins,) and the condo had everything we needed. Would 100% stay here again when we're back in town.

The view from the large balcony is spectacular and the location is perfect! You’re right on the beach and not next to a public access, so even on the holiday weekend it wasn’t too crowded. We were also able to walk and bike to great restaurants, shops, and local attractions. Chris and Karen’s place was very clean and well-equipped, with thoughtful touches. It was a perfect couple’s retreat. We will certainly stay here again!

We had a great stay! Highly recommend this spot for families- lots of very convenient amenities and a really nice community super close to the beach.

A beautiful condo in a beautiful location! The furniture was very comfortable and the condo was fully stocked. The living/dining space was bigger than we expected from the pictures which was a nice surprise. The community was peaceful and had tons of opportunities for walking around.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a beachfront Jeff’s property , and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning views and the soothing sound of the ocean waves. The location of the property was perfect - just steps away from the sandy beach. The accommodation itself was impeccable. The owners had thoughtfully designed the space to provide all the necessary comforts of home. I can't wait to return in the near future!

This was a second time staying at Salty Shenanigans and we had another fantastic stay! Beautiful upgrades were made this year to the unit. Condo is super clean and includes all of the amenities. Cost is worth having the ability to walk to the pool, beach and back again without getting in the car. Our 3 year old loves the splash pad and zero entry pool.

Lyn’s place was absolutely beautiful! Looks just like the photos. The location was perfect- everything you need is in walking distance which was exactly what we wanted. Amazing restaurants within 5 minute walk, lots of shopping, arcade, mini golf, ice cream shops. We had an issue with the internet due to the severe thunderstorms and she took care of the problem immediately and had workers on site taking care of the problem. Lyn was very responsive and rate 10/10 for a host. We can’t wait to come back next year. Thank you for a beautiful week.

The condo was clean and beautifully maintained—perfect for our stay before the fishing trip.

I can’t say enough good things about this perfect house. It’s absolutely beautiful (and huge)! There was SO much room to spread out— every bedroom has its own bathroom and outside deck- it has 3 fridges, 2 sinks, 2 dishwashers, 2 washers and dryers, etc. so no one was tripping over each other. We spent a ton of time playing cards and board games each night, the big tables were perfect for them. There is also an ocean view from most, if not all, the bedrooms! The pool and backyard were just awesome- We went in April (8 adults, 9 kids under 10 YO) so we splurged for the pool heat and I HIGHLY recommend, the kids were in the pool every single day for hours, even when the weather was in the 60’s. The grass next to the pool was the perfect size for games, and location next to the pool while the kids were swimming was perfect. Everything outside and in was well maintained and pristine! The island itself is so peaceful and beautiful, we truly could not have asked for a better time!

Jorge was an excellent host - very proactive and responsive, and just a pleasure to meet and speak with. We thoroughly enjoyed his beach home, and we are very happy it was available to us.

This location is perfect for families. It’s a stone’s throw away from Kitty Hawk and Duck, an amazing water park, and fantastic amenities like a pool, tennis, pickleball courts, gym and more. Love Wendy’s place!

It was the ideal retreat for our two families, with six children ranging in age from 3 to 13. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. There was ample space for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. The location was fantastic—just under five minutes’ drive to the beach and local shops, nestled in a peaceful neighborhood surrounded by trees. It felt wonderfully private and serene. Cindy was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We were genuinely disappointed not to have booked for longer and will absolutely be returning in the future.

Absolutely loved this beach house — it was everything we hoped for and more. Spotless and well-kept, with plenty of space, including extra rooms that came in handy. The walk to the beach was quick and easy, making it perfect for spontaneous trips to the shore. The house had everything we needed, from kitchen supplies to beach gear, which made the stay super convenient. The hot tub and pool were a major highlight — clean, relaxing, and just what we needed after a day out. And the best surprise? Just a two-minute drive down the street, we got to see wild horses for free. Make sure you guys have an all wheel drive car to see the horses! It felt like a hidden gem. This place is 100% worth it. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

The house was in a great area, really close to the beach and really spacious. Our hosts were really kind and responsive to anything we needed. I would definitely come back and stay.

The House was beautiful and cozy! Great for family’s and big groups. Close walking distance to the beach. Lots of activity’s within the house and out. Dawn was very responsive and helpful with the area. Great place and Great Host!
