This place was beyond our expectations. Immaculately presented, super clean, tidy, jaw dropping views. I can't fault it in any way and I can't rate it highly enough. Will definately look to return in the future. Stunning!

The lodge was fabulous, really enjoyed our stay. I even picked up a couple of decor ideas. Had a lovely time feeding the ducks, swans and other wildlife, very relaxing. Shops and amenities easy to get to by car, lovely restaurants around the area. Would absolutely recommend.

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Badgers Rest. The home was beautifully clean, had everything we needed and in a great location. The facilities were amazing nearby too.

Extremely pleasant week in Kendal and surrounding area using Cathy’s lovely accommodation as our base . Fully equipped , very comfortable , lovely decor and the bonus of private parking blended with some very fine weather all added into a perfect week for our family holiday get together. Highly recommended to anyone wishing to be close to amenities within lovely surroundings…..

House was as described, beautiful setting with wonderful views of the hills and mountains. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and bathrooms are nicely finished with good showers. Kitchen is a good size and has all required implements. A great location for exploring the central lakes and soaking up all that Ambleside has to offer.

Our family had a lovely stay at Burrowbank at the end of the summer holiday. The house is fantastic with all the facilities you could ask for. The kids loved the swings and most of all the pool, while the covered (heated) BBQ area meant evening meals outside watching the sunset. Great location and setting, very private and we would definitely come again and recommend to others. Martyn and Christine were very helpful and went the extra mile (even posting my daughter’s disposable camera that she left behind). Can’t think of any negatives and we made some great/happy memories.

Melissa was a great host, who communicated all the essential information and was always on hand with any questions we had. The property was in great condition and perfectly met all of our needs. I would highly recommend staying here. Amazing.

It was the perfect place for our trip. My friend, my dog and I felt at home in this cottage. There was a lot nice about it but there are some things that are more important to me so il mention those. The place was spotless, the owners made an effort to have small things like biscuits and milk to make our stay more comfortable, shower pressure was fantastic and the beds were really comfortable. The place is quiet so you get a good sleep to get ready for your hikes. Loved all the touristy info in the place which we really used! It was lovely to be able to bring our doggy! 🐶🐾🐾. Thanks for a lovey temporary home❤️

We have just returned home from 4 nights at Julie's ex-guesthouse and we absolutely loved it. We were a group of 5 adults, a 9 year old and 18 month old and there was space for all of us. Each room has its own ensuite and the kitchen is well stocked. The whole place was very clean and the utility room is also massive which helps if you need to do any washing while staying there. We will definitely look to use Julie's place again in the future. Julie replied in good time to any messages and is very friendly. Highly recommend as a great place to get around the Lakes from too.

The location is being perfect with amazing views, and the property was just what we needed. It’s clean, cozy and feels just like home. What more could you possibly want? Will definitely visit again in near future

A perfect getaway - so cosy, comfortable and inviting. Literally 5 minutes walk from amenities, the town centre and the castle as well as the bus station and rail station, this is perfectly located. Will definitely be back and we are so grateful to Ruth for letting us stay in her wonderful home!

We had a fantastic stay at Kirkbride Hall. The house was beautifully kept, spacious, and impressively well-equipped—from a generous welcome hamper to logs for the fire and charcoal for the BBQ. The 2-in-1 pool/dining table was a real hit and kept us entertained every evening. The large garden and peaceful setting were perfect for our group, and our dogs loved the space—as well as the thoughtful treats left for them. The house was spotless on arrival, and the detailed local info packs helped us plan each day with ease. Christine made the whole booking process smooth and stress-free, especially impressive with six dogs! She was welcoming, responsive, and made us feel completely at home. Every detail was clearly considered, and it’s clear the Rowley Estates team takes great pride in their properties. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kirkbride Hall and look forward to booking another Rowley Estates stay soon. Thank you for a memorable break!

We loved our visit to Michael’s place. He was kind to accept a last minute reservation when we had issues with a previously booked spot. The location was perfect for exploring Corebridge, Hadrian’s Wall, and the beautiful countryside.

The house is fab and very well appointed - everything we needed (clothes dryer, kitchen gadgets and table football!). Kathryn is a lovely host, sadly we didn’t get to meet, but she was really responsive and provided very clear instructions and useful information. The barn’s setting is gorgeous, but it is rather remote. It’s up in the fells above Helton, not in Askham village as the pin on the Airbnb website suggests (I suspect a limitation of the website, which can’t cope with a postcode covering miles of fell). Perfect for what we were looking for - we did a lovely walk straight out the front door - but may not be everyone’s cup of tea. The final 50m or so of track to the barn is a little tricky to navigate in city cars with low clearance, but all 3 of our cars managed (a VW Polo, Toyota Auris and BMW). As per Kathryn’s advice it’s really helpful to check-in in daylight - makes navigating to and along the track for the first time a whole lot easier. I can wholeheartedly recommend!

We had a great stay and would love to return one day. We went as a family of 4 - with our 17 & 19 year old sons and all really enjoyed the holiday cottage. The stand out 'wow' is the beautiful garden that leads down to the river at the bottom....a very rare find. The cottage is in the heart of the village, so there's easy access to small shops and variety of pubs to eat in. We had mixed weather and so enjoyed local walks but were glad of the log burner and heating to warm up at the end of the day. There's still a beautiful view of the garden even if it's raining. The cottage was well equipped and homely - it was much lighter and brighter inside than we'd thought it would be. Great stay - Thank you.

Leonys house is exactly ideal for our needs. Walkable to the town. Also not far in the car to wonderful countryside .The bath is a true pleasure. The place very tastefully decorated and clean. Wish we could of stayed longer.

Nice clean cottage in a peaceful location. Host was very responsive to pre-check in requests. Great couple days had in Grasmere.

We couldn’t have requested a better location, stay or hospitality if we had tried! Quite seriously, everything was perfect and the open fire is an added bonus! We had a beautiful time exploring the local area, knowing we had a wonderful semi home to come back to. Leonora was available at all times, not that we needed anything, but reassuring to know she was always available. Wonderful host and will definitely book again x x
