What a stay. Quick family nature escape. The Kayri trees at Erin’s, the waterfall, the beach, all spectacular. House was immaculate; not a spec of dust or sand. Incredibly spacious and gorgeously designed. All perfect. And so peaceful. We will be back.

Wonderful special gem. The first thing my son said when we arrived was, “This is the house I’ve always wanted!” Loved the views over beautiful bush and sea. Slept super well up in our little nest above the forest. Lovely bush walk down to the beach. What a unique place away from the hustle of the city.

Such a lovely peaceful place close to city but on the edge of Waitakeres and close to west coast beaches like Piha. We used it as a springboard to theatre in the city, lovely hiking around Arataki visitor centre and a comfortable drive to Piha. Close to many supermarkets. Comfortable and warm. If u like cooking as we do the full kitchen makes that easy. Lovely all round.

It’s taken me a while to write the recommendation for two reasons: 1. Because I came back so relaxed and calm inside that I have been avoiding my computer and phone when I absolutely don’t need them. 2. I’ve been trying to find the right words to convey the exquisite experience. The place was beautiful and incredibly calming (something about the energy there is seriously different!). We had four nights, and half of the time there it was pouring rain - so we got to have cosy days inside, playing cards and games, reading for hours and hours on end, flopping from chair to couch and back again, and then half the time outside with the roaring fire, exploring the peninsula and getting the most incredible wines from the local winery and wine-patch (IYKYK) Awhitū Wines. Barbra and Stanley were incredible and responsive hosts, if you’re lucky Stanley might let you know about his favourite Syrah and where you can find it - I can attest to its brilliance. I absolutely will be going back.

Maybe one of the best views in the area, The location is really good. You don't really notice the road because you can't see it and it is below you. You are lined up with the public roadside overview, which also doesn't intrude on the space, it's private, but it means you have an amazing view. indoor outdoor living, I really liked it, but am used to cabin living. It's a bach, a bit quirky. You cook outdoors, which could be challenging if it were raining. Altogether I found it to be a very pleasant place.
