Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Pike County

Beyond expectations! Everything we needed and more. Very clean every stay. Plenty parking for more than our 4 trucks and trailers. Easy access to devil anse, buffalo and rockhouse trails. The home is very spacious. And the private creek is definitely a favorite. In the middle of 3 towns so plenty food choices. Not far from bearwallow either. The onsite corner store is convenient for souvenirs. Definitely recommend to anyone.

We had a great time at the house. It is very convenient drive to town, about a 8 minute drive. When you take a right out on Buffalo road you have access to trails 11,12,14, and 15. Loved being able to access the trails just a short ride up the road. There was more than enough parking for our 2 trailers (mine was a 20ft gooseneck). The carport was nice to park the razors under. Big yard for the dogs to run and play in. Elizabeth was very responsive and accommodating. Definitely planning to stay here again.

Place is nice and clean. Beds were very comfortable. We stayed here for this trip cause we had a group riding the trails. Parking was tight with our truck hauling 2 SxS with a 24 foot trailer. I do recommend and I would book this location again.

David was an awesome host! Always responsive and accommodating. We extended the stay for our crew due to work extensions a few times and he was amazing about it!

My husband and I loved the historic downtown vibe, for a history buff you will love the area. House was very clean and beds were comfortable bathrooms were very clean. The owner was very polite and helpful with any questions we had about the area and responded to messages within minutes.

Glory's place was perfect for our group. We loved being able to hangout on the covered front porch. Being able to access Devils Anse Resort's trail access point because of Glory made it the perfect location. We will definitely be booking again.

I would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Matewan area. Paula was a fantastic host and was available at all times to answer any questions we had. Great location for a riding trip, or just to hang out with family and friends. Very private location hidden off the main road.

We loved our time here. It was perfect for us. We drove in to participate in the Hatfield and McCoy Marathon. The location was perfect! The unit was absolutely amazing. It was well decorated and felt like home. We will definitely mark this as one of our favorites. We look forward to returning next year. The people were super friendly.

If you decide to explore Breaks Interstate Park and the Crooked Road, consider staying at this newly renovated apartment in Virginia. The ground-level accommodations (very comfortable) feature a spacious bedroom with two queen-size beds, a kitchenette with seating area, and a bathroom with shower and washer-dryer. The location, which overlooks a river and rolling hills, is only 8 miles from Virginia’s “Grand Canyon.” The Crooked Road leads visitors to attractions including the Ralph Stanley Museum, the Carter Family Fold, and the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. Our host was welcoming and eager to meet our needs. The town of Haysi, Virginia, offers a small grocery store, restaurants, shops, and a gas station. We would certainly consider staying there again.

Perfect for our group of 5 couples! Beds were very comfortable! We stayed the night before the Hatfield and McCoy half marathon and rested well before race day. Temps were nice and adjustable , clean fresh bathroom towels. Comfort and cozy living room and kitchen

I thought Misty's place was great all around. It was very clean, nicely decorated and nicely furnished. The bed was very comfortable; the bathroom was clean with ample bathroom supplies. The kitchen had everything we needed, and there were freshly cut flowers in the kitchen, a nice touch. There were various books in the apartment, one was about the history of Haysi, which I found interesting. We were there to visit the Breaks Interstate Park, and the apartment was very close to the park. The area where the house is located is not much to look at, but it was very quiet and peaceful. If we are ever back in the area I would stay here again. Misty was a great host, always responded quickly to my inquiries, and was very nice in her responses.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay. It was very clean and well equipped. Shawna was very responsive. For check-in, the instruction was clear, but I didn’t expect there would be a mobile coverage. So I struggled a bit. The location was very convenient for me, as I stayed there for a running event. The only thing was I could hear “neighbours”. So I would suggest to bring ear plugs, if you need good sleep. I do recommend the place to anybody who visits the area.
