Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Our place is close to the great Tongariro National Park. It includes Mt Ruapehu for skiing or snow boarding and tramping. Walk the world famous Tongariro Crossing and discover the cycle ways, kayak the Whanganui River and explore the 'Bridge to No Where'.
