Unique and dramatic location at the point of the island between boat lock and waterfalls. Couldn't help but imagine the history of this building, with a waterwheel turning grinding stones, and the aroma of spices in the air. One day I watched the swift water rescue team practicing their rescue techniques directly into the waterfall. The nearby restaurants were wonderful, though I may not need to eat for the rest of the summer. The central location made for quick visits to the main sites. There are quite a few cobbles on Petit France, so for travelers coming from the station with their rolling bags, I recommend using Rue du 22 Novembre up to Rue du Fosse des Tanneurs(there is a market on this corner for convenient grocery needs), then down to the water at Pl. Benjamin Zix.

We were personally welcomed and shown around. Beautiful and clean accommodation with spacious rooms (each with toilet and separate bathroom), fully equipped kitchen and all around roof terrace with furniture. With all the comforts, everything was thought of! Cozy decor of the spaces. Beautiful and unobstructed views over the meadows, in the evening nice and quiet and complete privacy. Parking on private property and possibility to charge electric car about 600 meters away. Furthermore, it is possible to use the fantastic swimming pool in the garden. Fun conversations with Régine and Christophe and had the chance to admire the huge collection of Fiat 500 and old scooters. Colmar and Strasbourg are easily accessible from the property. Also got nice tips about other places to visit.

Caroline and Jean were very welcoming, friendly and responsive, helpful with dinner reservations, figuring out the pellet stove and advice on things to do. We definitely recommend La Stube!! The small apartment is ideal for solo travelers with a car. You can get to Strasbourg and Offenburg quickly and easily. Functional and good amenities, parking in front of the door. Supermarkets are in walking distance. Alexander and his wife responded quickly to messages. All in all, a great stay - happy to come back!
