Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Platanias

Sometimes it’s such a cliché to say “the photos did not do it justice “ but this is one of those rare occasions when it really does apply.. The Villa Tile is the perfect place for a couple or small family and has everything within a few metres.. the beach literally is on you back door step, next door is a beach bar with a pool which you are welcome to use. The hosts went above and beyond to make everything perfect for us during our stay, even undertaking some emergency sewing and pillow adjustments when we said that the pillows were a little too firm for our liking… We are already planning to come back in May 2025 and hope to use the Villa Tile again.

The place was great. Location was perfect for us: close to some true gems food wise, beaches, wineries, etc. We loved it. We stayed 1 week, so we truly got a chance to enjoy it. Was also able to yoga in the morning with a view on the olive trees. All the little attentions made us feel welcomed.

We really enjoyed our stay at this vacation home. The location is quiet and offers a great view of the sea – perfect for unwinding. The house is tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you need. The landlords were friendly and helpful and made the stay pleasant. All in all, a nice house for a relaxing beach vacation.

The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. The place was super clean and everything well maintained. Just felt right at home with an amazing view, great beds and a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend!

This place was an amazing place to stay, the views are the best views you can get if you want a wonderful sunset. I would highly recommend staying here. The beds were comfortable, and the host is very kind. They also were thoughtful with setting out and providing the toiletries and left a little snack in the fridge with homemade products. Absolutely magical! Roula’s stone house is an incredibly picturesque and charming place to stay. The terrace is a dream – shaded naturally by a tree and offering a stunning view of the sunset. The house is beautifully and comfortably furnished, with everything you might need. A little heads-up for tall people: the doorway to the terrace is a bit low – you might want to duck (don’t worry, we laughed every time!). There are some fantastic tavernas just around the corner, and it’s the perfect starting point for scenic hikes through the area. We loved every minute of our stay and would come back in a heartbeat!

Our stay in the apartment was perfect. The place was clean and had all the amenities listed online. We were able to park near the apartment which meant we could explore all of the local beaches and visit the old town. The apartment was located 10m from the beach, ideal for a early morning swim. We would love to stay at Georgia's place again :)

Great place directly opposite the beach - fantastic if you have toddlers like us. We ended up having dinner at the restaurant next door every day because the kids could play out there while we ate. If you want to visit the most beautiful beaches on Crete, this west coast location is great (though it should be noted that the beach near the house is actually facing north, which means it is thankfully not frequented by tourists). The host is very friendly and willing to help with any issues. The airbnb was very well equipped and prepared for our visit (including items we would not ordinarily expect like fruit, cake, and even a dinner on the first night - though we obviously knew about it based on previous reviews). We would come back here in a heartbeat!

Maria is a fantastic host. She met my husband and me at the bus stop and showed us around the apartment and neighborhood, giving us recommendations for dining and things to do. Her apartment is located in the heart of Old Town just steps away from the waterfront, great restaurants (we especially loved Tamam), and shopping. She stocked the apartment with everything we'd need for our visit, including beach towels, breakfast items, candy, guidebooks, and more. The apartment itself is cozy and comfortable in a charming building. Despite a decent amount of foot traffic nearby, it was quiet at night. We had the best sleep of our 10-day trip to Greece during our three-night stay. I can't recommend Maria's place enough for a visit to Chania!

We had an awesome week in Crete! The space was clean, with everything you need, and exactly as described and surrounded by olive trees, but what really made it special was the hospitality. They are absolutely excellent hosts, warm, responsive, and went out the extra mile to make us feel welcome! Truly rare form of hospitality that make us proud to be Greek. We will definitely come back. Εις το επανιδείν!

Quite simply one of the best places I’ve stayed on AirBnB, which is over a long time. The place is just about perfect, relaxed atmosphere, calm gardens - great cottage with superb views. A pool that they take great pride in (especially Nikolas’s father - and rightly so. He seemed genuinely upset when Sahara sand blew over but diligently went about getting it back to his exceptionally high standard). We arrived late, about 10:30 to a warm welcome and the chef happy to make us anything from the menu, the food is as good as anywhere locally. Very considered, well presented and served with genuine love. Everyone wanted to check my children were happy, and that all was well. Take a car so you can explore the beaches on the west of the island and we took a yacht for a day trip from Chania harbour, which was excellent fun. Really very good place Nikolas has built, his father - who is always around - is proud of his son and daughter, and I understand entirely why.

We had the best time staying at Tanja’s amazing studio. From the second we arrived, we were struck by the beautiful landscape of flowers and orange trees. The pool and patio were so peaceful and the studio was incredible clean and accommodating. The highlight of the stay was Tanja’s excellent recommendations of beaches, tavernas, and excursions. She was both incredibly friendly and communicative. We’d definitely stay again.

Great location, very short walk to the port, beautiful view of the ocean from the balcony. The host was extremely responsive and always willing to help make our stay comfortable! Apartment was very clean and the jacuzzi is a great feature. Multiple cafe’s/bars just downstairs with great food, drinks, and service. Highly recommend staying at this property if you want to be close to the venetian port and all Chania has to offer.

We were there for a total of a week. The room corresponded exactly to the photos – we especially liked the large balcony, where you can linger wonderfully. Unfortunately, the kitchen was very sparsely equipped - there was no salt, no pepper and no detergent or sponge, only some dishes, a pot and a pan. We then took care of the missing things ourselves. Since we couldn't take them with us, maybe the next guests will benefit from them :) Communication was impeccable at all times! A positive surprise was that during our stay the towels were changed and the room was cleaned - an absolute luxury, because you quickly bring sand into the room from the beach. We can definitely recommend the accommodation – we had a wonderful time there!

The apartment is very well located, just a few meters away from the beach. Everything is easily reachable by foot (supermarket, restaurants, beach, cafés). The apartment is bright, clean and modern with 2 big bay windows to the balcony oriented towards the sea. Possibility to use the washing machine and plenty of towels and bedsheets were available. Antonios and Vicky were really friendly and full of tips. During our stay mid October, restaurants were beginning to close for the winter season but plenty were still available. We would recommend this accommodation :) !

Our host was very careful for details, kitchen had all necessary stuff, fridge, etc. everything was clean. Host gift us welcoming gifts and that was lovely ❤️. Nice location, beach is close and you can go to supermarket in 10min on bus. And 25 min to Chania, bus stop is near. Living there was a pleasure.

This is absolutely our favorite Airbnb that we've ever stayed in (and we've stayed in a lot). The place is adorable. Katerina is very responsive and lives right by the apartment. The view is wonderful, and both the living room and twin bedroom have doors that open onto that view. It has everything you need and more, with Katerina providing treats and even cereal and milk for that first morning. The air conditioning worked well, but there is also a lovely breeze from the sea. There are tons of restaurants and cafes just below the apartment as well as with 5 and 10 minutes walk in Old Town. It would be comfortable for a couple and a third person (such as a child) or two people, each with their own room. The washing machine was great to have, and you can dry clothes on the lines off the balcony. We did not want to leave.

Totally recommend! My wife and I loved the place. Very convenient location, close to public transportation, supermarket, beach and great restaurants. The apartment was cleaned, comfortable and in a peaceful location. Besides all that, Eleni was really helpful during all our stay.

We had such a great time here! Nikos' place looks exactly as advertised, if not more beautiful. I especially adored the high ceiling, spacial living room/kitchen and lots of natural light. In May Greek weather it's a perfect appartment to comfortably sit outside/inside and sleep at night. The center of Chania is about 10 minutes away by car so a rental car is recommended. Luckily you can easily park it right next to the house. You can also get a taxi to get there, which costs for us 10-15 euros for 2 people. The communication with Nikos was lovely. He gave recommendations, answered questions quickly and made it so everything was clear and comfortable for us.

From the start, Sia and her husband were very warm and welcoming. At check-in, they walked us through the apartment, which looked exactly like the photos. The view is fantastic from the front balcony. Everything was very clean. Loved that there were electronic blinds for most windows. We rented a car and there was a parking spot available for us in Sia's garage. We did find the bed a bit too hard for our tastes (to each their own!), and we sometimes had trouble with the wifi dropping in the main bedroom. Overall, we loved Sia's place and would stay there again!

The apartment’s large balcony & location at the quiet end of the Venetian Harbour in Chania old town, was perfect for relaxing and exploring the labyrinthine little alleyways of the old town of Chania. I started and ended the day sitting on the balcony, watching sensational sunsets, the quiet chatter of people in the restaurant below and the mooring and unmooring of boats in the harbour! Christina, my main contact, was outstanding in her responsiveness and assistance in ordering a taxi etc. I would definitely stay here again!
