The Horseshoe - Ditchling

JeffRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a fab stay at Melanie’s place. The apartment itself was spotless and very very comfortable to stay in with all you need for a great stay. It is right in the centre of the village within walking distance of a lovely cafe and two great pubs. Would highly recommend both the place and the host.

Former Game keepers lodge with woodburner

ZoeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Sally's lodge is a piece of heaven. The photos do not do it justice so expect a lovely surprise. It fits in its environment perfectly: the old-world charm of East Sussex. It throws you back to a time when the world might have felt peaceful, genteel, smelling of wildflowers and log fire, yet, with all the mod-cons. The very best of both worlds. Sally is an attentive, reactive and kind host. I felt warmly welcomed after long day of flight delays, as if I'd come home. A home in a parallel universe where all is well. I truly did not want to go back to my home in the real world!

Staying at Polecat Barn was a delight. Light, airy and spacious coupled with amazing barn design. We were lucky to visit when the bluebells were out in the adjoining wood. Delightful and restful stay. Thank you!

Self contained studio apartment in quiet lane

WendyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A hidden gem in the beautiful East Sussex countryside. The studio was spotless, extremely well equipped and comfortable. Great hosts too, Alison warmly welcomed us when we arrived. The local pub, just a few minutes walk away is great, with excellent food and a very friendly welcome so would highly recommend that too.

South Downs Cosy Cottage

ChloeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I was so sad to leave! I spent 6 glorious nights here, mostly solo. It's bigger than the photos and even lovelier too. Stunning view into the walled garden from the (super comfy) bed and the living area doors and the porch are a few metres away from a field of sheep. Lambs and everything! It's so close to Lewes...chock full of fun stuff, but also feels beautifully tucked away. Great hosts, super friendly and generous with amenities. Honestly, this was a great value, beautiful place. I feel very lucky.

Cosy & secluded Shepherd's Hut in Plumpton Green

LizzyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
I cannot recommend this Shepherd's Hut enough! The hut itself is in the most beautiful private woodland (I've seen many birds, squirrels, a badger, foxes, deer), with gorgeous ancient woodland and really beautiful bluebells it you're lucky enough to visit at the right time. Glenda and her husband are the perfect hosts, really good communication before and during, and they're both just very nice (they also have a lovely dog who is a very good boy, but don't worry if you're allergic as he won't come to or in the hut itself). The hut is very well equipped for a cosy stay with all the bits and bobs you need: big bed, table and chairs, storage, mini fridge, crockery and cutlery, hob, kettle, toaster, loo, shower, and heating. There are also plenty of electrical outlets. It was pristinely clean inside. It's a great base for setting off for local walks, exploring the South Downs, getting to the seaside, or other towns like Lewes, and visiting Glyndebourne.
