Family-friendly holiday rentals in Pocahontas County

Perfect accommodations! Very clean and ski in/out was great. Enjoyed the hot tubs and really appreciated the lockers to keep the ski equipment in. Bus rides into the village came on a timely manner and we never had to use our own vehicle. Also, the underground parking is great to load and unload out of the weather.

I did wish the check in and check out times were more flexible. As a property manager myself I know it isn't always feasible but I felt like that there wasn't much of an option at all for it. The condo was good for us and our needs. My Children raced and it worked great for us.

Great ski in/ski out location. Condo had everything we needed except a hair dryer. Keurig coffee maker has both regular brew option and kcup option - bring your own coffee with you. Beautiful condo!

We had a great time. The passport sent was useful and very accurate. The space was clean and the heated pool was great.

This is a cozy cabin on beautiful property with hiking trails right out the door, a small stocked pond, and great sledding hills. The road to the cabin was rougher than expected but we also arrived after lots of rain. I would not advise arriving after dark. The main floor is spacious with lots of seating and a large smart TV. The woodstove is awesome and puts out an incredible amount of heat. The mattresses are all medium-firm. No plush pillowtops here. But we knew this ahead of time and brought mattress toppers for those who needed them. Lots of warm blankets and comforters. We loved that the house uses solar and hydroelectric. This did mean monitoring the house’s power and several power outages, but it was always easy to get back online. And the house has a generator if needed. As a host, John‘s service and welcoming feel are unparalleled, and it felt like we were staying at the house of friends while they were out of town. He truly wants his guests to have a great experience.

This was our second time staying at TOTRC and it did not disappoint! Lynn’s place is perfect for larger groups visiting Snowshoe that appreciate privacy. The cabin sits on 10 acres but is still only 20 minutes from the Village at Snowshoe. The cabin is so well stocked and has tons of amenities which made our last day in WV perfect even though the weather wasn’t ideal for skiing - we played board games, sat in the hot tub, sang karaoke, and made a fire outside.

We loved our stay here during the World Cup Mountain Bike event. The house was exactly as described. The kitchen was very well appointed and we used it a lot. The only thing is, yes, it could sleep 10 but with 4 beds and 2 pullouts, it was really only comfortable for 8 unless you were sharing a room with kids on the pullout. Or very small people. We had 4 couples and two single men, so a little awkward. We would definitely stay here again.

Our little family (2 adults, 1 baby and 1 dog) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Greenbrier Cottage. It was clean, private and cozy without feeling too cramped. Wifi worked great. As did the AC and fans, thankfully! It was very hot and humid outside but inside the cottage it was very, very comfortable. The area is very peaceful and relaxing. We saw some deer grazing just outside. We went for a walk along the river nearby. If you're looking to get away from the craziness of the world for a bit, to relax, breathe and hear yourself think, this is the place. Would easily stay here again.

Nice location and place

Me and my and my 3 kids stayed here for a weekend trip to snowshoe. The property is located about 40 minutes (weather dependent) from the ski resort and had the perfect amount of space for us. We recieved about 4 inches of snow while we were there making for incredible views of the surrounding hills.

Great old house with interesting historical structures out back. The view is beautiful. Comfortable living room and kitchen works well for cooking. Dining room was great for meals and board games. With two full bathrooms and four bedrooms, we had more than enough space for 4 adults. The wind was howling at night but earplugs help cut down the noise. Check out the weather before your trip, this is at a high elevation and can be windy and colder than you might expect in march. We went into McDowell and Monterey for the Maple Festival. Got the trout at Highs restaurant. Oh, also really enjoyed the walking trail behind the house. Highly likely we’d like to return some time, thank you!

This was our second stay there. This place is the ultimate for a quite peaceful get away. I would recommend it to anyone for sure.
