We stayed with Soatep and Manthana, and it was AMAIZING!! This place isn’t for everyone because it’s quite isolated, but if you’re after a pastoral, local, authentic experience with wonderful people, this is the place for you. When we arrived, Sotap greeted us warmly and we headed together to the market. We bought fresh vegetables and fruits, then cooked a meal together. He let us taste his family’s special dishes, preparing a unique vegetarian Tom Yum soup, tofu Pad Thai, and sticky rice with mango that were simply heavenly. He helped us with everything we needed, taking us for a local-priced massage, waiting until we were finished, and even taking us back. We loved our stay! everything was organic and inviting, offering an experience no hotel can match.

I had an absolutely blissful stay with the host Nepat couldn’t have been more helpful. Recommendations were provided for everything needed and the service provided in cleaning, cooking and doing my washing couldn’t have been better. This small house had a cosy, warm, clean and mediative feeling. Perfect for two people to share. You are surrounded by greenery and natural materials. Somporn lives next door with her family, dog and cat who are very well behaved and do not bother you at all. You can wake up in the morning to watch the sunrise from bed, bird watch, reflect and relax. The lake view is also a very lovely feature. There wasn't much of a walk to do in the area, or anything else really if you don't have transport so it is a place that allows little activity. We would've enjoyed this house a lot more if the house wasn't on the main road. The road noise is intrusive and sometimes there were street vendors right outside the door making noise. Somporn was a very communicative, helpful and respectful host and was always available to help. I really recommend to order from the local farm shop advertised, receiving the produce really made our stay a lot more interesting and the produce was great.

Probably a special fate for us to stay at Moon and Hank's country cottage, which was the biggest highlight of this trip.Self hire car drives past, very good find with clear signage.After going in, it is like a cottage in Tao Yuan Ming Poetry, and I think the scene in Taohua is no more.Clean kitchen and bathroom with a cozy bedroom as well as beds. Moon prepares a super hearty Asian breakfast every morning and comes over from time to time to show us the spices from the yard, the seeded fruit as well as the super big snails in the pond.Moon and family also took us to a Bushkund event in the opposite temple, which was a special experience.For leaving, very reluctant, I hope to have the opportunity to stay here next time and experience the most relaxing and comfortable Chiang Mai life.May Moon and Hank be safe and happy and trust we will see you again. ⸻ A true peaceful retreat in the countryside! This accommodation, installed on an old rice field, offers a zen and exotic atmosphere, like a leap out of time. The setting is exceptional, between nature and serenity, and the infinity pool is simply incredible... A perfect place to recharge and reconnect. The restaurant is stunning, in a beautiful setting. All this while being 15 minutes from the city center of Chiang Mai. I would recommend it in a second!
