With a beautiful view over the mountains, it is the ideal location to enjoy the many river beaches, hiking, cycling and other activities which can be arranged. Your host is a vegan pastry and professional chef and loves to spoil you if you wish to have meals prepared.

House of Schist in the center of Portugal

Three schist houses being restored at the village of Cunqueiros, in the municipality of Proença-a-Nova, form the Casas da Encosta project. Here it’s possible to relive the life history and culture of the region’s people in the comfort of a typical Portuguese village. According to the owner, Nuno Caldeira, the houses are being restored following the local construction tradition where schist, clay and wood are featured. One of them, Casa da Lagariça, has already opened.
