Pheasant Ridge

We had such a memorable stay at this stunning tiny home in Te Hapua Bay Estate! Nestled right by Lake Taupō with serene lines of pine trees and sweeping farmland views, the setting was nothing short of immaculate, absolutely breathtaking from sunrise to sunset. The home itself was spotless and thoughtfully designed. The heat pump kept us warm and toasty during our winter stay, and all the appliances felt brand new, which made everything from cooking to relaxing effortless. The amenities were super convenient and well-stocked, making us feel right at home. A huge thank you to Sarah, who was a fantastic host—clear directions, fast responses, and genuinely warm communication throughout our stay. One of our favorite highlights was enjoying the BBQ while soaking in the uninterrupted views of the landscape, truly a moment of peace and beauty. Highly recommend this special getaway to anyone wanting comfort, nature, and a little slice of New Zealand magic. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

Lake View Lodge - Taupo Holiday Home

MatthewRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Wonderful stay - the house was in the ideal setting for our getaway, and easily accommodated a large group including a baby. Lots of games and the pianola was fun! Exactly the cosy house you want for a quiet weekend inside due to foul weather, and a base for exploring the region/skiing if that's your game.

Stunning Lake Retreat

Really nice spot on a hill that has terrific views of Lake Taupo. The place is modern and has everything you need for a nice getaway. There are some really nice touches from the hosts with the goodies provided, they were also very responsive and helpful helping us to get Netflix working. Would happily stay again.

Perfect for You @Motuoapa, Lake Taupo

Shona is a great host, she is very friendly and quick to respond. Her dog Maggie is the sweetest! Shona’s house is easy to find in a quiet neighborhood, and it is conveniently located between Tongariro National Park and Taupo. The accommodation is clean and well decorated and the hygiene products made by Shona’s daughter are a great touch. We were able to choose between 3 bedrooms (as all had been prepared), which was a luxury! The only thing we had not understood from the pictures is that the living room is actually the house’s garage that was converted into a living space. So there is no window there and it can get quite cold at night in autumn (even with a heater). It wasn’t a big problem for us as we were only there briefly and our days were busy but I think it’s worth mentioning. If this is not an issue for you, then I fully recommend this apartment!
