Mill Cottage Bunkhouse is situated in Nenthead, one of the highest villages in England, standing at 1,500ft above sea level. It is nestled within the stunning Northern Pennines (AONB) UNESCO Global Geopark and sits next to the historic Nenthead Mines site, which was once a major centre for lead and silver mining. Mill Cottage Bunkhouse is on the C2C cycle route, it is also next to Isaac’s Tea Trail and only a drive away from the Lake District, making it an ideal base for cyclists and walkers.

The Mill

Recently refurbished to a high standard. The Mill nestles on the banks of the River Lyvennet. It is a tranquil setting surrounded by wild life. This property accommodates up to six people. The Mill is surrounded by footpaths to explore. There is free fly fishing for guests along our private stretch of river banks. Kings Meaburn is a small farming village 5 miles west of Appleby and 10 miles south of Penrith. You will find the White Horse Inn in the village serving local ale/food.

We offer attractive self catering accommodation in a quiet picturesque rural Cumbrian village in the Lyvennet Valley at the northern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. You will enjoy exclusive use of this well equipped house for 5 guests (with additional mezzanine double sofa bed if required). Set in it's own beautiful garden with an open aspect over fields, this area is wonderful for walking and cycling and with easy access to the Lakes District. Dark skies are a notable feature.

The garden is abundant in wildlife throughout the year, and has a lovely terrace to sit out on with comfortable outdoor seating. Ideal as base a for exploring the local area or a stopover en-route to & from the north. Dogs welcome with enclosed garden and walks from the doorstep. Accommodation provided in delightful character house in Morland near Penrith. The Eden Valley is a charming unspolit part of Cumbria but only 20 minutes from Ullswater. Private annexe, with separate entrance, small kitchen, sitting room with TV. Downstairs toilet. Private outside patio with table and chairs. Facilities to cook simple meals. Tea, coffee and milk provided. It is important to note the bedroom is en-suite but with access through the main house.

A baby gate is provided which can be used to limit access to areas of the apartment, but guests with small children should consider this when booking. Situated on the coast to coast route, Shap has many amenities and is a fantastic base to explore the lakes.
