Passer derfor best til familier eller gode venner, samt det er mulig å re opp ei ekstra barneseng på "biblioteket". Det er ca 10 minutters gangavstand ned til sentrum med jernbanestasjon og Høgskolen og 3 km opp til Birkebeinerstarten, samt ca 3 km til Rena leir. Det finnes også ett lysthus/drivhus på eiendommen som kan benyttes til å inta morgenkaffen eller slappe av med en god bok

Pannehuset and Birkenhytta
As you can see the pichtures show you two cabins, built together. The new cabin have two bedrooms, bath and a smal kitchen. Separate toilet. The old cabin has tow rooms one a bedroom , the other a living rom. The furniture is old in this rom , and has some old paintings as well. There are a stove to make it warm, nice and cosy. Firewood for free. There are plenty of space to sit outside, in wintertime this is on the starting place for Birken skirace. 3km from Rena.

Det gamle sommerfjøset til Hovelsrud Gård ligger idyllisk til mellom Mjøsa og en bølgende kornåker – et enkelt og unikt sted for den som vil komme tett på naturen og nyte roen på Helgøya. Huset passer best for et par eller en liten familie med inntil to barn. Inne er det et soverom og en åpen stue. Ute er det en kjøkkenbenk, med et gassbluss og grill, en liten strand med bademulighet og utedo. Det er ikke strøm.
