Family-friendly holiday rentals in Ringebu

Large nice cabin with plenty of space, we were 11 people from 2 to 78 years, everyone enjoyed! Cross-country tracks just a few 100 meters away, and also in the mountains at pellestova. 7 minutes by car to the lift in Gaiastova. Very well equipped cabin! Here we would love to come back.

After a stormy crossing, we reached Gala in the most beautiful sunshine, a short argument with the Norwegian castle, then we immediately felt at home. We had seven wonderful cross-country tours in changing sunny-cold weather and a little fresh snow. The hut was always cozy and warm. We almost stayed forever. Now, unfortunately, everyday life has caught up with us again. Thank you, Marianne

Nestled in the heart of Oppland, Elisabeth and Thomas' farm is set in an idyllic setting. You feel like you're in a real cocoon in this house perfectly maintained by Elisabeth. Plan a stay of at least 1 week to fully enjoy the comfortable and authentic accommodation. The bedding is very nice, the bathroom and kitchen are very well equipped. The advantages are: strawberry jam and homemade bread, the wood stove, the view and the calm. Feel free to give Thomas a hand when feeding the cows and calves. I would definitely recommend this place.

This is a magical place to stay if you want to experience a true Norwegian wild getaway. The cabin is spacious, secluded, and rustic. The firewood stove makes it really cozy and atmospheric. The area is great for hiking and cross country skiing. Our hosts Oscar and Nina were very friendly and always available to answer our questions! Great place :)

We have with great satisfaction spent a week's winter holiday (week 7) in this lovely cottage. We were 5 adults and 1 infant. Johan is a great host who responds quickly and is easy to communicate with. The cabin is large and spacious. However, the kitchen and dining area will be tight if you use the cabin's designated full capacity for 13 people. Two of the beds are also short, so the actual capacity is probably closer to 8 adults and 2-3 children. There was some lack of cleaning and cleaning upon arrival, but we got it done with Johan. The cabin is beautifully located with great views of the valley and mountains. It's a really good cross-country ski area with lots of trails with different difficulty. There is also a small alpine facility that fits nicely for beginners. We used the outdoor jacuzzi extensively - both during the daytime in the sun and in the evening hours with nice and clear night skies.

This was a wonderful place to stay. An authentically historic home with the beauty of old wood, the original large pine table and working old hearth. Yet it had all the comforts we expect and was spotlessly clean. There were several additional historic buildings on the large working farm. The view from the dining table and either porch is breathtaking. Best for us was Inga’s exceptional friendliness and the invaluable help she gave us in tracking down information on local family heritage. A reminder to bring your own shower toiletries. Exceptional place to stay!

Høvringen provides great nature. Knut’s cabin was warm, cozy and is a great and authentic Norwegian way to enjoy the mountains. The ski rental is 200m away with reasonable prices and run by very helpful people. We love the cabin and the area. The “løyper” were fixed and ready to go -even after the new snow arrived.

Lovely cottage where you immediately felt at home. Very cozy and everything was very clean. Everything you needed was present (only we didn't find a colander:) ) Our sons loved all the toys present as well. You could walk to the beach to take a refreshing dip in the lake and in the wide area there was a lot to do. We really enjoyed our stay an Audun is a great host.

Staying at Jan's cottage felt like being invited to stay by a friend who trusts you to look after their belongings. It's very comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. The cottage is right out in the countryside, which is wonderful - peace and quiet, lovely views, and we saw a mountain hare very close by. You definitely need a car, or to be a good skier in winter! We had very unusual freeze/thaw conditions and our hired car was inadequate for driving up and down the small road. Jan was really helpful, making sure the road was snow-ploughed, and responding very quickly to queries. We had a great time.

The second time we rent the cottage. We hope to come back again!

Henning is a very nice host. We felt very comfortable for 2 weeks. Anyone who reads the listing will definitely not be disappointed. For me with a height of 191 cm, the doors were already very small. I hit my head twice vigorously. After that, I knew the height. Gala is a dream for cross-country skiing. If you like it a little special, Henning's house is just right.

We were already there last year, knew what to expect and chose the house again because of that. There is just everything you need, it is very cozy and comfortable, and the ski conditions are perfect. Sitting outside on the sofa in the sun in the afternoon simply cannot be replaced :-) Only the communication for the appointment for the booking was a bit difficult, as we come from Germany and rely on vacation/ferry trips. But it may also be due to the automatic translation. Unfortunately, a short-term cancellation on our side was no longer taken into account in the price. But apart from these formalities: the house and Bjornar are great, I would go back anytime, perfect for a group of 8 people to ski in Kvitfjell!

Our Third Trip, We love the place and feel that we are entering the home of a family that has spent years adding to such a traditionally Norwegian mountain retreat. The drive to Skeikampen is wonderful and we love the fact that a new supermarket has opened in Skeikampen. The Neighbour is so knowledgeable on local wildlife and is ever happy to share with us his insights. This place is a rare find and highly recommended. Tony O'Dea

Our group of 12 Birken skiers had a memorable stay here. Plenty of room to stretch out, beautiful view of valley from the main room. Hans even provided wax bench and iron. House actually has 3 showers and 3 toilets/ sinks, which was plenty for us. Since we were from USA, we did incur extra expense for linens/ towels, but that was fine with us. There is a 300 meter hike from parking lot to get to house -well worth it!

Christina and family were very responsive to all queries throughoutour stay, particularly in relation to local weather conditions. The house was lovely and warm and it was very close to the local ski areas.

A traditional farmhouse in beautiful surroundings. We felt very welcomed and the communication with Gunhild was quick, informative, friendly and swift with a quick responsetime. A great plus here: Incredibly comfortable matresses, comforters and pillows. Also, plenty of bed linens and towels available. The interior has the feel of an older, charming family farmhouse. Three livingroom spaces. A large dining table surrounded by lots of windows, letting in natural light and scenery. Also, lots of space and light in the kitchen. The kitchen and bathrooms were functional and had everything we needed. There are some minor quirks, like always in older houses. Note that there is a steep staircase up to the 2nd floor where all the bedrooms are, in case that is an issue for you. The key box and door lock were a bit "stubborn" to work with, until we got to know their "personalities". But don't worry, they work. All in all, we liked Gunhild's charming farmhouse and would stay here again. :)
