good place for a quick overnight stay

Black Bear Lodge was the perfect spot for our ski vacation. Such a short drive across the border to Rossland and Red Mountain. Jack & Daniel were stellar hosts and the view was breathtaking! We would love to come back again soon-

It was so cozy and lovely. It was in a beautiful neighborhood that was quiet. It was very clean, and everything was accessible and easy to find. We loved the soaker tub, that was part of why we picked the place! The bed was also very comfortable and we were thrilled with it being a king size. Chris was very friendly and responded to each of my messages very quickly. We plan to stay there again next time we visit!

A hidden gem! Natacia could not have been kinder! We had a great stay. Super comfy bed, great lounge set up and some very appreciated snacks! Would highly reccomend staying here.

Awesome place to work from with a colleague for the week. We each got privacy, lots of places close by to walk too. Close to tons of hikes. And also quick trip to downtown and surrounding area for work meetings

I loved my stay in Bunkieland. It was so peaceful with a beautiful view from the deck. Exactly the escape I was looking for. It was also great to have a place my dog could stay, he loved the bunkie just as much as I did. Also a great location if you are coming to Nelson to bike... very close to Morning Mtn trails. Maria was super nice and helpful. Would gladly visit again!

We wife and I came to visit friends in Rossland and are so happy we got to stay at Karen’s place. She is such a warm and welcoming host and has an eye for detail such as leaving out milk, bread and cookies for us as well as treats for our puppies. The place is very well appointed and even has underfloor heating in the bathroom which has a gorgeous sunken bath and nice separate shower with good water pressure. The setting is very calm and peaceful with great views out over the surrounding hills. We didn’t have time to get to use the hot tub or pool but will do on next visit. You can easily walk into town, plus there is lots to do on your doorstep including hiking, golf and mountain biking. Thank you Karen for a great experience!

Great location overlooking the river, seemed like we were on acreage!

Amazing place to enjoy nature. Our dog enjoyed the stay and all the space to be off leash. The river was quite cold but we did swim once and wade a bit at the beach. The river was quite fast so if you had a dog which wanted to jump into the water it would be difficult. Mosquitoes weren’t too bad, but I would still put on bug spray if staying outside for long. We saw an elk herd on the other side of the river so they are around.

We had a Dad‘s mountain biking weekend in Rossland and this was the perfect house to accommodate all of us. Lots of space to spread out over multiple levels. A real feast for the eyes with lots of artwork and unique decor at every turn. All the amenities we needed were there, including some great coffee and selection of teas to start the day. The ping pong table was also a hit as we battled it out for king of the table. Would definitely stay there again if in the area and it would even be great for a couple of families. The place is amazing! The location is perfect — 7 min away from Red Mountain. The place is so large and comfortable, highly recommend this place and we would definitely love to visit again.

I had a phenomenal stay at Iris’s property. The historic schoolhouse was very clean, comfortable, and nostalgic with modern amenities. The property itself, and entire area, are very picturesque. Iris and her husband really stole the show during my stay.. they went above and beyond to help me achieve my goals for visiting the area; for which I’m thankful. I absolutely recommend.

Breanna’s place was the perfect spot for us to stay with a baby. She anticipated our needs and put out a high chair for us. Having a dishwasher and laundry was so helpful when travelling with a little one, and the sauna gave us something to do after the baby went to bed! The space was clean, well decorated, and very comfortable. We’d highly recommend staying here! Thanks again, Breanna!

Meegan is such a great host, and her place is marvelous! Private, eclectic, comfy and cozy.

Based on these reviews, I chose Whisper Ridge for our honeymoon. It is as advertised and then some: an homage to the spirit of their horse, Whisper. Clearly Nikita and Savannah created this space out of love. It was the perfect place to consecrate my marriage. Could not have been more perfect. We spent two days exploring the area, visiting Nelson and nearby Ainsworth Hot Springs and then another full day lazing around the tent on the spacious deck. Could not be more secluded and private. We roasted duck legs in the fire pit, as our faithful hound Basho stood on the look out for stray wild turkey. On the final morning a deer tip toed through camp, moving as if in slow motion, ethereal, gracefully blessing our time somehow without Basho noticing. The golf cart is a nice touch. Though, I'm surprised guests haven't rolled it yet. It is quite powerful and I had fun racing Basho back and forth to the car a few times. Élise and I will hold Whisper Ridge in our hearts forever.
