Places to stay in Alton
Enjoy our picturesque little cabins tucked away in our own little hidden valley. Set in remote Southern Utah, our cabins are in close proximity to Zion (34 miles) and Bryce Canyon (41 miles) National Parks, and to Cedar Breaks National Monument (38 miles). Nestled next to the unique small town of Alton, our cabins will take you back to “the simple life.” Whether you are traveling solo, as a couple, or with friends, our cabins have something to offer everyone.
Located 5 miles off Highway 89 on 23 acres of southern Utah landscape, these studio cabins are located in the cozy little town of Alton. This location is a prime, central stay if you are looking to see all the sites that Southern Utah has to offer. We are only an hour away from Zion and Bryce Canyon National Park, and Cedar Breaks. 45 minutes from Kanab and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, and even closer to many more “local” hikes. This cabin has a unique history dating back to the 1920’s when it was built in Bryce Canyon National Park. Instead of being torn down it was moved to its current location in the small town of Alton in 1980. It has recently been renovated to fit its unique simplicity. This cabin is one of a series of five other quaint cabins. You will have your own cozy private studio with a queen bed and a full bathroom with a walk in shower. The room includes a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. A propane heater, AC units and ceiling fan are in the room for guest comfort (according to season.) There is WIFI but no phone service for most providers. This is truly a “get away from it all” experience. The closest shopping areas are in Orderville (20 minutes away) if you are coming from the Zion area, or in Bryce Canyon City (1 hour away) if you are coming from Bryce. Please be aware that these shopping places usually close at 9, so be prepared and stock up before that time. There are also local restaurants that are located between 20 to 45 minutes away.
  • The cabin had the amenities we needed and the space itself was perfect for a weekend away to explore the outdoors. Cellular service was limited to none, but the WiFi was working superb!

  • We stayed here for a few nights while exploring Bryce canyon and zion national parks - it makes a perfect base. It is cosy and comfortable and not too far off the main road. We really appreciated the disposable plates and cutlery - a thoughtful touch. I am sure we will return to explore the area more - would thoroughly recommend

  • Very clean, private and cozy little cabin. BBQ and fire pit on site. Highly recommend

    Chanel2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and easy communication. Comfy bed (what else could you ask for after a long road trip) easy to find with their location and details provided. Good value for money. Would recommend and stay again!

  • This place was just perfect for our needs. With so much outdoors to explore around, we loved having this little cabin as home base for our time in the area.

  • We were expecting a little boui-boui in a cabin but we were pleasantly surprised by the comfort of this accommodation and its bathroom. In addition, the communication was excellent.

  • Super cute cabin! Beautiful stars and interesting history. Really enjoyed my stay!

  • We visited Zion park and then stayed here over night before visiting Bryce canyon. This place was perfect as a quick overnight stay. It was quiet, comfortable and clean. It was a lovely little woodland cabin.

  • This home was exactly as described. Home is comfortable and has everything you need for a few days stay. The host had warned us that there are no restaurants or stores in Alton, so we can prepared with our own food. We were able to cook several meals with utensils and dishes provided in the apartment. The surrounding area is very beautiful and very rural.

  • Great place to stay! Very cute and cozy. Place was very clean and had everything we needed.

  • Julie's cabin was a sweet, idyllic stay. It was perfect for us because we wanted to have a central home base between Zion and Bryce Canyon. Since we visited before busy season the traffic was nonexistent and the drives were gorgeous. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle outside of the National parks I would definitely recommend this cabin!

    Baylie2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We fell in love with this place! A must visit if you are in the area! The hosts were very helpful.

    Anna2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's place is wonderful, we had such a relaxing getaway to go hiking. Close to Zion and Bryce National Parks, you can't go wrong! Would definitely recommend!

  • Awesome place to stay, and close to a bunch of cool places to hike!

    Josie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's place was probably the best bang-for-buck experience I've had on AirBnb. The cabin had plenty of space, heated floors and plenty of thoughtful touches. It was the perfect place to end a long day of hiking! We didn't break in the workout equipment but appreciated this being available to us as well. Thanks!

  • Tracee’s place was one of the few available for us booking the week of.. Although I’m not upset about it! This cute little cottage is off the grid but if you’re willing to drive for entertainment, it’s worth it! We went to both Kanab and Bryce Canyon which fulfilled our hopes for an off roading adventure! It’s extremely clean and roomy. The kitchen was equipped with everything far needed and the TV was awesome for late night movies. Very nice place to stay!

  • This is where you find the charm of a nice little town with great people.

    Peter2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tracee was an excellent host. Her home is spacious and clean. Plenty of room for our whole family of grown kids and one grandbaby. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner there and the kitchen was perfectly serviceable. We plan to stay again.

    Mariah2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • It's a cute place, very clean and good thing there is wifi because there is no signal in Alton AT ALL haha. We got lost at the beginning because the map sent us to the wrong house but it wasn't too hard to find. They were very accommodating with a minor family stepback we had but all in all, glad to have stayed.

    Denisse2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Ranch House was so wonderful to stay in. Check in was perfect and easy. The house was ready and had everything we needed. There were even little treats left for us which was a very nice touch. they had information about cool things to do nearby. Perfect location between Zion and Bryce and Cedar mountain. Thanks Tracee!

The Ranch House is a large and spacious cowboys retreat. Decorated with authentic western saddles and tack along with hand made rustic furniture. The house has a wrap around porch, a large lawn and mature shade trees. Three large bedrooms all with their own bathroom and plenty of nooks and crannies for the kids to play in. The Ranch House is nestled in Scenic Southern Utah, located between Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park and The Grand Canyon.
The Ranch House is large and spacious with 3 master bedrooms (first bedroom is located on the main floor, second and third bedrooms are located on the second floor), kitchen and common areas, for a relaxing stay after a long day at the parks or just to enjoy the quiet beauty of Alton. There are a lot of places for kids to play through out the house. There is a 50 inch TV and Blu-ray in the basement to watch movies or your favorite streaming service. A large lawn for the kids to play on. A washer and dryer conviently located on the main floor.
The Ranch House is located in a unique neighborhood, with old barns and a history strong in agriculture with many of the barns still being used today. The streets of Alton are lined with large beautiful pine trees and cottonwood trees.
  • I can not rave enough about Carrie's beautiful home! We spent the Thanksgiving holiday with our family this past weekend and it was spectacular. The house is extremely large and can host more than 6 people - it would be perfect for a couple of families with kids. There is a large basement area with couches and a tv that allowed additional privacy. Also in the basement looked like an indoor kennel and a small dog run (with access to the backyard) that would be perfect for pets. Each bedroom had its own bathroom which was an extra bonus! One of the upstairs bedroom has a fun loft area (ladder included) that had another mattress which would be perfect for a couple who had kids. It was cold, however the house was well heated and the wood burning stove made it feel so cozy! As far as hospitality, it was amazing! The power did go out for about 6 hours and Carrie and her husband came over to check on us. She brought candles and he brought up more wood from the shed. After the snow storm, they also came and clear the snow from the steps and around our cars. If you are looking for a place to stay near the parks (or just to get away), this is the place!!

    Delaney2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to spend a few nights with friends or with the family. We stayed with 2 small kids. The spacious house with big rooms and all en-suite bathrooms as well as the big garden really made us feel comfortable throughout our stay. The kids had plenty of interesting things to discover and play with! We also loved the central location between Zion and Bryce. Fantastic base to explore the area. The town itself is very quiet, but this was great for us, as we love the peace and quiet in the evening.

    Mikaël2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Plenty of room.

    Bruce2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean in every aspect. Spacious getaway off the beaten path. Good midpoint between Zion and Bryce National Parks. Very quiet at night. Lots of sleeping arrangements. Good WIFI but limited to no cell service for Verizon.

    Dan2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Ranch House was so spacious and clean. Most of the house has been recently updated and is beautiful. It is perfect if you are looking for a quiet getaway in beautiful southern Utah.

    Wendy2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the house very fitting western decor, gem of a little town in Alton. Great location. Well appointed kitchen, Wifi strong, nice television area. Clean spacious bathrooms. HVAC good but rarely needed while we were there. Comfortable beds. Only caution, 2 different GPS (phone and car) lead us to wrong place so follow directions in the house information provided by the hosts.

    Mari2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Clean. A LOT of space. Plan in advance for food, etc as the remoteness of Alton (which is AMAZINGLY AWESOME) also presents some challenges for planning meals, etc. Amazing place!!!

  • A really lovely little cottage. And especially the location is the best. When you drive up there every corner comes with another surprise. How nice to be greeted by some deer!

    Nicole2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. The location is right next to Dixie national Forrest and not far from Zion and Bryce. We enjoyed all 3 locations during our stay. Frank was great and responded very quickly to all of my questions. He gave us great advice on where to eat and buy groceries. We read the other reviews and brought a little hot plate to took our breakfast and dinner and had an amazing time. The views were fantastic. We would definitely stay again!

    Alisha2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • It is a quaint, cozy cottage at the summit of a hill, making stargazing truly incredible. I’m pretty sure we even heard an elk while stargazing. The cottage was impeccable, with so many nice touches, like extra blankets to snuggle with in the Adirondack chairs, a coffee maker, extra toiletries, a fridge, and a table and chairs. I’m not sure how to regulate the temperature in the cottage (something we struggled with in other tiny homes) but it was perfect. It was very clean. We actually found the place fairly easily, but definitely made a wrong turn once in the dark. Follow all the wooden signs!

    Angela2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • On our cross country road trip this was by far my favorite place we stayed. It was perfectly sized with an absolutely stunning view. It really lived up to the name Cozy Cottage!

    Riley2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful, quiet, and truly lovely place to stay. Beautiful views and so peaceful. We loved all the amenities and the bed was so comfortable ! We would love to come back and stay again! Thanks for a wonderful place to stay!

    Amanda2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Cozy Cottage. The space is very clean and stylishly appointed. The bathroom is actually quite large, and the shower is great. We found the bed to be very comfortable. Also, the view from the cottage is unparalleled. We loved sitting on the porch and gazing at the scenery below. The stargazing at night is absolutely sublime. Highly recommended!!

This cozy little cabin is surrounded by Ponderosa Pines and plenty of solitude. After a long day of adventures, this is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. After the sun goes down, you will enjoy a spectacular stargazing experience you won't soon forget. In winter, if there is snow, four-wheel-drive will be required. If there is a major snowfall, the road may not be accessible. In this case, we would give a full refund for cancelation.
It’s located one mile from the Junction of Hwy 14 and Hwy 89 and is the halfway point between Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon (35 minutes to both parks). It is very private as there are no close neighbors, yet only 2 miles from the main highway. The road is a dirt road but is maintined and accesible with any vehicle.
This cozy little mountain cottage is located on 120 acres with its own private hiking trail. You will rarely see another person as you enjoy solitude in the mountains.
  • This was probably hands down the best AirBnB I’ve had the pleasure of staying at. The location was perfect, the place was clean, it really is a cozy cabin!! The kitchen was fully stoked with all the things you need to cook with. Check-in and check out was easy. Lisa was attentive to any questions we had!! I highly recommend her place! Book it while it’s there!! P.S. Please note that if you are going to rent a car, make sure it’s 4 wheel drive. The road to the AirBnB is a bit bumpy. We had to put snow chains as it was snowing and the days prior the road was muddy. But other than that I give it a 11/10.

  • I took my family to Utah for the very first time the weekend before Thanksgiving and we stayed in this cabin. There are three main things we really liked about it. 1. The host was helpful. She was quick in answering my questions, accommodating, and gave me great recommendations of places to see. 2. The cabin had a good location. It was in the middle of many acres of land so it was very private. But at the same time, it was only 40 min to Bryce and 1 hr to Zion, both with beautiful drive. 3. The cabin had great amenities. There was a heater but one of the bedrooms was tucked away so it didn’t get warm like the rest of the cabin. There was a TV with Netflix but it was mounted too high that you had to look up to watch. The kitchen was fully stock that all we had to do was buy the food we wanted to cook. There were toys, books, pack and plays for the kids, outdoor fire pit, and many more. We would love to stay here again in the summer and do more hikes within the property. Thank you Lisa for hosting us!

    Roy2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great, quiet place! Perfect for visiting Bryce and Zion and for watching the stars at night!

    Daniel2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Secluded but close to hiking and sights. The beds are super soft and warm, was made to feel very welcome. The cabin has lots of fun ammenities and is very functional.

    Kevin2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time to this area and we really wanted something secluded! This cabin was perfect! We could truly hear the “quiet” that we never get the pleasure of experiencing while living on the east coast. The cabin had everything that we could possibly need! The heat and water temperature were wonderful as the temperatures dropped at night. The beds were extremely comfortable and the shades kept the cabin dark. We appreciated the movies that were left and access to Netflix as a way to wind down after a long day at the parks. Location was perfect! About 45 min to both Bryce Canyon and Zion! Very easy drives as well. We took advantage of the scenic byway 12 as well. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever re-visiting the area. The view of the stars at night were amazing with no light pollution! Thank you so much for everything! It was truly a time to remember!!!!

    Lyn2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at this amazing location!

    Christian2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin, very private space. The beds were super comfortable and she had plenty of towels in the bathroom. What a great place!! Wish we could have spent more time there.

    Nikki2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s cabin was very cozy and comfortable. It’s remote and very private. The location was perfect for my husband and I to visit both Zion and Bryce Canyon. We enjoyed the fire pit, grill, all of the wildlife, and the beautiful evening sky. It happened to be a full moon during our stay and that was a spectacular sight.

  • This was an excellent base for 10 days spent exploring Zion and Bryce NPs as well as skiing at Brian Head. One advantage of being midway between the parks instead of having two shorter stays closer to each: we could choose which park to go to each day based on the weather - worth considering. Anyway - a great home that is kept spotlessly clean, spacious, very well equipped (particularly the kitchen), all needs are considered and provided for, very good value, cosy and warm, excellent communication. Highly recommended!

  • We love this cabin! It's centrally located between Bryce and Zion -- it's remote enough for the peace and quiet, but not too far away from small towns if you need to get stuff. Lacey was very responsive to my messages, and never had to wait more than an hour to get a reply back. The cabin has everything, that all you need to bring is food -- the kitchen and pantry is stocked with all the cookware you need, as well as spices, cooking oils, food storage, zip lock bags (all of which I'm sure were brought in by other renters). There are plenty of towels and bathroom supplies, and a washer/dryer to clean your clothes. We were there for Christmas and it truly was a winter wonderland. The development does have plows and they even plowed the driveway while we were there, although we do recommend an AWD car if you plan on visiting in winter -- that saved us a lot of headaches. The cabin is big enough for 10 people, especially with a family room downstairs, and hope we can bring some friends next time. We'd stay here again!

  • We had a great time staying at this place! The cabin is fully stocked with all the essentials (including laundry machines), its located in between Zion and Bryce Canyon which is great if you want to visit both places. Everything was just easy and hassle free. Lacey was also great to communicate with and responded quickly to any questions we had. Our family felt very much at home.

  • Very clean, kitchen well stocked with most any condiment you would need. Coffee bar with everything you need as well! The whole unit was stock with everything you would need, extra bedding, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, lotion, and games. Great location to experience Zion and Bryce Canyon💕 I would highly recommended!!!!

  • Ideal location between Zion and Bryce Canyon parks. Great space in the cabin for larger groups. Lacey communicates timely and thoroughly. Appreciated a limited number of departure instructions. Recommend highly.

  • The cabin was beautiful, clean, well stocked and centrally located to all the hiking trails and parks of the area. I would definitely stay here again.

    Shaun2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lacey's cabin is absolutely wonderful! It's the perfect location, just about 45 minutes either way to Zion or Bryce Canyon. There is a huge deck for watching deer grazing at sunset, and stargazing after dark. The pantry and fridge were well-stocked. We had everything we needed to make delicious meals in the big open kitchen. The entire cabin was super clean, spacious and comfortable. The mattresses are on the firm side, not too bad though. There were only 3 of us, but the cabin would work great for large families - with 3 bedrooms and 1 full bath upstairs, and 1 bedroom, full bath and family room downstairs. Thanks, Lacey for such a fabulous stay! Hope to return in the future!

Visiting Zion and Bryce while staying in a Conestoga wagon is unique, spiritual and down right exciting. WhisperingPines Glamping Resort allows you to do it with all the luxuries and conveniences of the 21st century. Along with staying in our comfortable wagons, our guests enjoy all the activities we provide such as a horse shoe pit, many hammocks for reading and relaxing, 2 separate waterfalls and streams for the kids to play in. A 4,000 sqft grassy lawn to play soccer and volley ball.
Experience the Wild West in Luxury! When you think of Western United States, you think of the early pioneer settlers. Rolling below the beautiful cliffs of Zion and Bryce, our pioneer ancestors experienced the simple yet breathtaking landscapes through the windows of their covered wagons. Enjoying these beautiful parks while staying in a Conestoga wagon is unique, spiritual and down right exciting. WhisperingPines Glamping Resort allows you to do it with all the luxuries and conveniences of the 21st century. Whispering Pines Glamping Resort is easily accessed off HWY 89, perfectly located only 35 min from Zion National Park and 40 min from Bryce Canyon. (Right in the Middle) WP Resort currently has 4 Conestoga Wagons located in the most beautiful valley. After entering through our unique gate, you will meander 1/2 mile under towering Ponderosa Pines, through our flowing grassy meadow, below the white cliffs, past grazing mule deer up into our hidden getaway full of waterfalls, manicured bluegrass sod and old time relics from past. Our Wagons are great for couples, solo adventurers, small families and even large family reunions. If your family is larger than 18 individuals, we have a large grass lawn for pitching tents and additional parking areas for campers as well. 1. Each wagon sleeps 4 with 1 king bed and 1 bunk bed (One of our wagons sleeps 6: 1 king bed and 2 bunk beds) 2. There is no water in the wagons, but you will be within 50 feet of a water hydrant and your private bath and shower room. 3. Each private bathroom has a shower, sink, toilet and heater. Towels will be provided. 4. Each wagon has a small refrigerator, a microwave, Coffee maker, BBQ grill, picnic table and a fire ring. Along with the national parks, our guests enjoy all the activities we provide such as a horse shoe pit, many hammocks for reading and relaxing, 2 separate waterfalls and streams for the kids to play in. A 4,000 sqft grassy lawn to play soccer and volley ball. We also have a basketball hoop, a trampoline, a large swing, a tomahawk throw (adult supervision needed) a tree hut with kitchen for the little ones, beautiful hills for hiking, and a huge meadow for flying kites and playing kick ball. We even have special fairy huts and lightning bugs in the trees bringing that fun magical atmosphere. The large grassy meadow lying beneath the white cliffs is always full of grazing mule deer. Make sure to bring your binoculars so you can see them up close. We have gone to great lengths to display some of the original history of our valley. The site is carefully decorated with original features such as the two seater out house used by Old Grandpa Tom and his wife. Also, Seamans Canyon was originally homesteaded by John and Alice Seaman in the mid 1800 s. They had a lumber mill. We found their big pile of scrap wood and have made some neat displays of items commonly found in lumber mills at that time. ABOUT US, THE BARRICK FAMILY - (Fun History) 2016, Dr. Robert Barrick and Family of 6 kids left their 6000 sqft home on the golf course in Cedar City, and moved into a 700 sqft, 1960 s hunting cabin off the grid. At the time, it only had one bedroom and a loft. With a record breaking winter (350% of normal) the Barricks grew close as a family and learned how to do hard things as they labored together to help build what you see today as Whispering Pines. That first year proved to be a defining and character building time for them all. From their generator shed burning down leaving them with little power for over a month, to their daughter being attacked by a bear and courageously chasing it off the mountain. The Barricks had a year to remember. As you sit and watch the deer peacefully graze out into the meadow, you can hear the wind whisper through the pines. Listen closely and you will hear Ol Tom Haycock welcoming you to his cherished valley. Grocery stores are 20 min away so make sure to stop at a grocery store on your way in. Coming from the North, shop at Panguitch, Coming from the south, shop at Terry s or Family Dollar in Orderville. If coming from Cedar City, shop in Cedar city. There is a gas station only 2 min away that provides your normal gas station food along with some pretty good steak burgers, chicken wings, and hotdogs. If you are wanting to eat out, I suggest traveling 15 min to Duck Creek village where there is a great deli called Martin s Corner Deli. Hatch also has the Cafe Adobe (closed Sundays and Mondays and close sometimes at 7pm) so go early. Orderville has a great german bakery and a pizza place.
Complete seclusion (except other guests). Private Gate. Towering Ponderosa Pines, Large meadows full of Deer.
  • Fantastic way to turn 40! Close to the national parks. Lovely accommodation; very different and we enjoyed it tremendously.

  • We loved our stay at the covered wagon! It was nice and cozy and super clean. If anyone is in the area and wants a neat experience, stay here! The bathrooms were also very very nice too. Definitely recommend staying here!

  • This is a great place to stay between Zion and Bryce. Clean, beautiful, comfortable accommodations with delightful hosts. The beds are comfy w heated mattress so you stay toasty warm at night. Bathroom is clean with great water pressure! This is a great compromise if you are looking for a bit of camping without any of the hassle with tents and bags.😊 My teenagers loved the uniqueness- I mean, how many people can say they have slept in a covered wagon!

    Elizabeth2019-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • A truly unique place! We loved every second here. Warm hospitality, fantastic facilities - never again will I camp when you can glamp like this! My children loved playing in the grounds with the hosts children and special thanks to hunter for the ace fire starting skills! Perfect location for Bryce Canyon. Thank you so much!

    Melanie2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend staying here. The covered wagons are really great. Kids would love staying in a wagon. The owners thought of everything!

  • If you are looking for an incredibly unique experience please stop by Whispering Pines! You will not regret it. Rob and his family were super gracious and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. We were even met by their littlest one with fresh-picked flowers from the yard. What a treasure this visit was!

    Shellie2019-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Roberts place is a hidden gem! My family and I absolutely loved our stay here. You get to experience the outdoors while still feeling at home. Robert and his wife Christy provided us with exceptional hospitality. We recommend to all!

    Candy2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • If your looking for a unique experience, don’t think twice, just BOOK IT! Kristy and Robert are kind, funny and awesome hosts. These covered wagons are UH-mazing and brand spankin’ new! They come with a heated mattress pad, portable heater and a/c, if needed for warm or cooler nights. Each wagon has its own designated private bathroom/shower on site within a few steps of your wagon. You can park your car right in front of the wagon. The location is very beautiful on a private ranch right off the road in between Zion and Bryce Canyons and not too far from the Pink Coral Sand Dunes. The site also includes individual fire pits, bbq/grill, seating and picnic tables. This was a great stay and highly recommend it over any motel. We only stayed one night and would of stayed longer if we weren’t on a time crunch. We will definitely be back in the future.

Very unique and amazing desert style home with professional design and decorating. Professionally managed from maintenance to cleaning. Set in a very quiet quaint magical town with all the amenities you could think of. Smart home features and additional activities at house with fire pit, volleyball, trampoline and hot tub. Plenty of room for the whole family. Set in between the worlds most beautiful national parks Bryce and Zion.
Beautiful views from the house of Bryce Canyon. Local VIP tour guide that handles all adventures from hiking, fishing, UTV's and much more!
  • You can't go wrong choosing this wonderful home! My parents, siblings and our children (ages 10 to 3) gathered here for a family reunion, and it was truly a special and magical location. The home offers so much to do for the kids (sand box, play structure, trampoline, volleyball), plus it's near Bryce Canyon and other great southern Utah locations when you're ready for an excursion. The town of Alton is a fun place to walk around. The home itself is comfortable and stylish. It has a large gathering room where all ten adults plus the kids could comfortably hang out together, and a kitchen table big enough to seat 10 with additional seating for 6 at the bar. There are 2 other TV family rooms (upstairs and downstairs) with ample seating as well. The kitchen is very well equipped with cookware/cooking utensils as well as kitchen towels and plastic wrap/bags -- basically everything you'd need is probably there. There's great attention to detail, like having lotion and tissue boxes in each room, various pods for the Keurig in the kitchen, extra mattresses and comforters, labels on all the cupboards and shelves for ease of finding things. In the evenings we loved using the outdoor gas firepit (no smokey-smelling campfire clothes!) for stories and songs under the gorgeous night sky. Saren and Ty were so welcoming and absolutely wonderful to work with. They responded promptly to our questions and were just super nice. We can't say enough about this place, but to sum up, we highly recommend it and hope, hope, hope to stay here again!

They are definitely prepared to make sure large groups are comfortable And have everything they need. Definitely a great location and launching pad for some southern Utah adventures.

  • Alton Lodge was the perfect place to stay to be in between Bryce and Zion. The drive to either doesn’t seem long at all. The property is nicely decorated and is very cozy considering its size. We had 5 families for a total of 24 people. Plenty of beds as almost every room has a loft (that’s why the number of people it sleeps is higher than the number of beds listed). Kitchen was well furnished (including 4 crock pots) to easily prepare meals for our large group. Julie was extremely responsive to any questions we had and even rented a ping pong table for us! We booked the house because it had the sand volleyball court (all the kids and some of the adults play volleyball competitively) but since it was a long snow season, the volleyball court was covered in snow. Instead we took full advantage of the ping-pong table and had some. Rey competitive tournaments! Was such a joy to see kids and parents disconnect from electronics and spend time engaging with each other, indoors and outdoors. We took full advantage of the huge yard to play football! Highly recommend Alton Lodge for large groups looking to enjoy quality time together enjoying some of Mother Nature’s beautiful gifts!

    Amy2019-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Alton Lodge was just absolutely amazing both inside and out! Upon arrival you’ll see the beautifully kept lands surrounding the lodge. There was about a foot in a half of snow that was just beautiful during our stay. When you enter it’s as if previewing MTV cribs, the large picture windows are adorned with an amazing scenic view of the 20acres of land. The large open concept that conjoins all of the common areas had plenty of seating for every. It’s the perfect location for a large group. Each bedroom has comfy mattresses, its own bathroom and are nicely decorated. The Amenities in the kitchen are perfect. There’s no need to bring your own pots, pans or silverware unless your like us and rather have plastic plates and silverware to prevent you from having to wash many dishes while on vacay. Julie and her husband Wade were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. They were also very responsive to our needs. All seven families in our group over 30 people were very pleased with our trip. We definitely plan to book this lodge again. See you soon Wade and Julie! Thanks again!

  • Our stay at Deer Crossing was exceptional! The cabin was perfect for our long weekend. The owners have beautifully decorated the cabin and made it a very cozy space. Everything was well organized and the space was very clean. The owners had extra blankets, pillows, board games to play, and the beds were very comfortable. Would highly recommend.

  • This cabin is a wonderful spot to stay off Hwy 14 close to the 89. It was not as secluded as we had thought, but the neighbors weren't a bother. The property managers were quick to help us with anything we needed. We adored the cabin! It is beautifully decorated and furnished, and the desk and fire pit are perfect. Our only complaint was the dog hair, which was abundant.

  • A friend and I reunited to go hike at Zion and Bryce National Parks. We weren’t for hotels but neither for full camping. Then this showed up. It’s perfect! Gives you the full experience of nature with the amenities of a clean personal bathroom, and small essentials (fridge, microwave, heater, A/C, etc.). Although we didn’t have pleasure to meet Rob and Christy in person (we were all day at the park, leaving early coming back at dusk), communication with Rob has been impeccable and everything went as hoped for. We did meet their adorable dog, thought, who kept us company during breakfast... Really nice place. A good location if you want to have a central point not necessarily within a single park. I really had a good time!

  • The place is magical decor and a unique decoration a total change of scenery. The trolleys were so comfortable and the beds came from the best beds we slept on. Located between Bryce Canyon and Zion this is the perfect location for visiting both parks

  • What an amazing place. The wagons are great, so comfortable - it was the best nights sleep we had on our 10 day vacation. The property is beautiful. The very talented family put on an amazing show for us. The only bad thing was that we had not booked more time. Very conveniently located between Zion and Bryce.

  • This place is glamping perfection. Just enough to feel like you are “roughing it” but all the amenities to make you feel pampered. The bathhouse was nearby the wagon and each wagon had their own private bathroom. Sparkling clean and beautifully done. Nicer then the hotel bathrooms on our trip. What a treat after a hot day of hiking! The wagons are filled with great amenities like refrigerator and microwave. The beds were so cozy and perfect for the chilly night. Best night sleep of our trip! Beautiful location perfectly situated between Bryce and Zion.

Enjoy grilling on a 2-story porch with views, or toasting marshmallows over a wood fire in the fire pit (fire wood provided). The forested hillside and private adjacent lot add to the feeling of privacy.
This is a great home-base for your Southern Utah vacation. Enjoy the National Parks, hiking, fishing, ATV trails, and horseback riding just minutes away from the cabin. Central to everything in Southern Utah: Bryce Canyon (43 min), Zion National Park (43 min), Red Canyon (29 min), Cedar Breaks National Monument (36 min).
  • Clean with great amenities. Awesome location.

  • Bran'ts place was everything we hoped for and more. We got to spend Thanksgiving break there and experienced a big snow storm. But Brant made sure to have a lot of extra blankets and extra heaters so we could keep warm and cozy. The neighbors were also very welcoming and helped us shovel snow out of the driveway. The house came with all the appliances we needed to make Thanksgiving dinner. I loved that everything was labeled and we knew exactly where to find things. Brant was really helpful even before our arrival, making sure we were aware of the weather and any road closures (this saved us a lot of time) and communication was easy and fast. We visited Bryce Park and Zion (short drives from Brants place) and it was nice to come back to a warm home. We would definitely stay here again!

    Soila2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Brant’s place. He was very responsive and provided all the information needed prior to our arrival. The house is in a great location and central if you are planning on visiting both Bryce and Zion. Zion Vistior’s Center is across the park from the entrance you most likely would be coming in from and can add to your travel time but it is absolutely gorgeous so not much to compliant about. The house was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed.

    Mario2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with deer or turkeys in the morning. Beautiful cottage, comfortable, beautiful view, well equipped. Ideal for visiting Bryce and Zion. We will definitely return if the opportunity arises!

    Marc2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Brant's place lived up to expectations and all the other reviews are spot-on ... easy access to both Bryce and Zion - quiet location away from the crowds at the parks - wonderful sunrise and sunset view on the ridge a few miles away - cabin was spotless and I think as well equipped as any AirBnB or VRBO that we've stayed at - we've recommended the place to all our friends and if we are in the area again we will stay here in a heartbeat. Perfect for a large family that is tired of cramming into a single hotel room, we got our own space to relax after long days at the national parks.

    Brent2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for trips to Bryce, Zion and Cedar Breaks. We saw young bucks, does with their fawns right outside our windows. Evenings on the deck were beautiful. BBQ'd every night and ate out on the deck.

    Dale2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great house in the center of Utah's playground. Everything is at the most an hour away - Zion, Bryce, Cedar Breaks. Dixie National Forest, Grand Staircase. The house is a perfect base camp for groups of adventurers or families. Our family of four loved the place. Hiking and exploring all day... kick up with a beer and enjoy the great view from the porch at sunset. Note: The only real grocery store (pharmacy, etc.) is 45 minutes away (the convenience store around the corner can fill many quick needs). We had to get some groceries and fill a prescription, and you do need to drive to Cedar City. No worries. The drive is beautiful. My family loved the remoteness, but it's something to think about as you plan your trip to this fantastic house....

    Jason2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fabulous home to enjoy while taking day trips to Zion and Bryce. It is about 1.25 hours to Zion and 45 minutes to Bryce. Beautiful drive in both directions. Sunrises are gorgeous off the balcony. WiFi is strong and all the amenities were great! We would definitely rent again.

  • What a great vacation!! This was our third time staying here and it was awesome as usual! The cabin was perfect for our family and friends. Cabin easily accommodated 2 families. Love that the cabin is stocked with almost everything we could need... games, toiletries, sleds etc. Falisha is always very quick to respond with opening package info, and super knowledgeable about the area!

  • Rexford's Retreat is a beautiful little cabin located inside a small quiet community in Alton, Utah. The cabin is beautiful, very clean and the beds are super comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to whip up a home-cooked meal. The downstairs den area has a small TV and lots of board games. It was such a great area for the kids to hang out in. The upstairs living room sits adjacent to the kitchen and has a perfect little wood-burning stove to keep the entire upstairs area nice and warm. In total, we had 6 adults and 2 kids but could have easily accommodated another 2 adults and another child. Overall 10/10 absolutely loved this place.

  • Had an amazing white Christmas. Cant wait to go back again.

    Gissell2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • As soon as I booked Rexford’s Retreat, Falisha was on top of communication. The R&R opening package email was well thought out and very helpful. We arrived to a spotless cabin, ready for us to make our own for the weekend. We brought food, clothes, and some sleds, Falisha’s cabin had everything else we needed for the weekend. For the next 2 days we spent hours sledding in the front yard, playing in the snow, being visited by wild turkeys, playing family games, and watching movies. Falisha’s cabin had plenty of games, toys, and movies to keep the kids occupied when not outside. You can’t go wrong with Rexford’s Retreat, it is centrally located to the various attractions nearby. The roads are maintained, and it is perfect for a getaway with kids that will keep them occupied without ever needing to leave the property. Rexford’s Retreat is a wonderful cabin with an equally wonderful host.

    Harry2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Rexford Retreat felt like our home away from home! The cabin was stocked well with everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner there! The cabin was conveniently located between Zion and Bryce and it was so nice after a long day of hiking to go back and enjoy the peaceful scenery and the family friendly board games!! The cabin was very clean and cozy. This was by far the best Air B & B/ VRBO that we have stayed in! Will definitely be back!!

    Taralyn2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, very cozy, they have every kind of games that helps to lose time while you're not on a trail and also they have very nice neighbors.

    Narcis2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect vacation retreat. Especially loved sitting on the porch swing in the evenings with a cold beverage after a days hike in Bryce and watching the deer feed in the front yard while the wild turkey family strolled by.

    John2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Falisha- Thank you so much for letting us stay at your home. It was spacious, clean, plenty of amenities and felt like home. We cooked almost every meal and you had everything available. The upstairs/downstairs layout was perfect for our two families. You were very quick on responses and we had a wonderful stay while watching Deer TV. We will book again in the near future. It was a perfect location for our Bryce Canyon and Zion adventures.

  • Great place to stay, lots of room and very clean!

    Armando2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great! 40 min to Zion and 30 min to Bryce Canyon! As East Coasters we were worried about not having AC, but it was not a problem at all in late May. We even used the space heaters at night. We enjoyed the fire pit and there is firewood available at the convenience store in walking distance. The hot water heater (or some other appliance) in the laundry room was very loud, it was disruptive when sleeping in the room connected to the laundry room. Would recommend the house sleeps 10 comfortably, avoiding the room connected to the laundry room. The nearest grocery store with limited options is 20 min away and larger options are 30+ minutes. Kitchen had all supplies we needed. We enjoyed dinners in the dining room with windows on all sides of the room. We also previewed photos on the large screen in the living room! Highly recommended!

  • Kim’s place is very clean and specious. Living room was bigger than it looks in the pictures. One of the bedrooms are very small but the other two are good sized. House fits six adults comfortably. There was heavy snow on our first night and Kim was very helpful scheduling a snow plow. She was very prompt in her communication. The place is close to both Bryce and Zion national parks. We enjoyed our stay here.

    Doug Beth2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very nicely located half way between Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. We even made it down to the north edge of the Grand Canyon on a day trip! At night, it is perfectly quiet. We enjoyed the black out curtains in the bedrooms and they were furnished simply, but tastefully. Kim also had a great cookbook in the kitchen if you wanted to try out some tasty new and old recipes. House is easy to get to and nicely decorated. Great host!

    Kay2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great comfy place. Perfect for visiting Zion and Bryce.

    San2018-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's cabin is located within 40 minutes of Bryce Canyon which made it easy to easily spend more than one day exploring it. We also found Strawberry Point off Rt 14 was an incredible view of the surrounding cliffs as well. The cabin was sparkling clean, good instructions and easy to get in and out of. Kim was quick to communicate when questions were asked. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans and utensils to do your own cooking if desired. Comfortable couches, lots of windows in the LR to watch the deer meander by in the mornings and evenings. I would recommend this lovely cabin to other guests.

They have it well stocked and prepared for guests. Very comfortable and nicely decorated. Furniture is all very comfortable. Quite and mostly secluded. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

  • As my co-traveler said "I've never before been in an airbnb or VRBO where I had absolutely nothing to complain about ! This place is perfect!" It's an ideal space for two couples - or more, with the basement rooms added. Fully equipped kitchen. Location between Zion and Bryce National Parks was just what we needed. Bertha and Wayne offer a gem of a home.

  • We as a family had a really wonderful time in this cozy and beautifully furnished house. Especially the location in between the woods was very enjoyable from the beautiful wooden balcony. The great mixture of modern equipement and wooden/ vintage fourniture gave the house a nice flair, even though the road, which was somehwhat close to the house was pretty disruptive to the quietness.

  • The loft was an awesome retreat for our trip to Bryce Canyon, the home was extremely clean, the furniture, bedding were comfortable and in great condition. The home was equipped well and has more than enough room for 6 - 8 (we only had two, but would definately bring our families next time). We would definately rent the loft again!!

    Judy2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our overall experience was good. The house was clear and the kitchen was well equipped. There was enough space for the all of us (we were 10) and we didn't even use the basement... The house living room isn't big even when the two sofa beds are closed. We had an issue with the hot water, but were instructed very quickly how to solve it. Recommended! Although requiring at least a 40 min drive from main canyons locations.

  • Home was easy to find, located close to all my favorite fishing spots. The house was very clean with lots of personality. Loved the huge garage space and amazing views. Walking around the neighborhood we saw deer and met some really nice people. Also liked the fact that the roads were paved which kept the dust down and if we need anything the gas station was right there. Epic trip, tons of fish and a great house to come home too. Thank You Matthew, you were a great host.

Come and enjoy this beautiful 2642 sq. ft home in Elk Ridge Estates! It is a beautiful spacious home with many upgrades. The gorgeous interior wood, rustic tile on all kitchen/bathroom counter tops and kitchen/bathroom floors, a beautiful river rock fireplace, high vaulted ceilings and lots of windows gives this home a great mountain feel. There is a covered wrap around deck with built in benches.
KB Express is a convenience store located 1/2 mile away. There, you can get gas, most basic food items, and even cook a hamburger. More information Duck Creek Village is 12 miles west of the cabin. There are a few restaurants, shops, and a hardware store. There are no grocery stores within the immediate vicinity. Cedar City, a town of about 30,000, is located 45 miles to the west and has a Super Walmart and several large chain supermarkets. There is a small store in Orderville and a small store in Panguitch.
  • Lovely Cabin, very clean and beautiful. The scenery was breath taking. We had a lovely White Christmas, white snow all around us!!!

  • We travel a lot around the world and have stayed in many places and this is in our top 5. AMAZING. Stunning home with everything you need and more. Beautiful little extra touches. Super clean. Comfy beds and plush towels. Loads of room for our two families to spread out and relax. Unfortunately the day we arrived the weather changed and we got -7 to -14 weather but the whole home was toasty warm. Lots of extras like movies and board games that created a great family vacation. Nice and close to Zion and Bryce canyons. Lovely to watch the elk in the field below with their babies. Grab your groceries before you get there and don’t forget the wine so you can enjoy the view and fireplace. We are from Australia and will be back for a longer stay next year. 10/10

  • Great well maintained cabin at an excellent location to visit Zion and Bryce park. Deers passing through at the end of the day and if you are lucky you'll see wild turkeys and a big brown owl during the day. Big porch to observe nature and enjoy your glass of wine at the end of the day. Great kitchen with everything you need. Good beds and everything was very clean when we arrived. Great place to stay with a group or family but we stayed with two people and enjoyed the enormous space and utilities. The main bedroom is upstairs with an open direction towards the living area.

  • Great cozy cabin. We stayed here to visit Zion and Bryce and it is almost right in the middle. Tons of wildlife and great views as a bonus. We plan on returning.

  • Beautiful holiday cottage in the countryside. Very modern, all necessary equipment available. Ideally placed to visit Zion and Bryce Canyon National Park

  • We spent 4 nights in this beautiful "cabin" all in wood. We see the hinds (not shy) from the terrace. 1 master bedroom in mezzanine (open on the living room) with gigantic bath and shower, really great! The 2 bedrooms with double bed and dorm are on the ground floor / basement. Less fun because no view and quite cold / wet. 1h30 from Zion and 1h from Bryce, but nothing to do in Alton ... Very good communication with Amy! All in all, a very good stay.

    Frédérique2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great location between Bryce and Zion. We watched deer every morning and evening from the wrap around porch. Comfortable beds, great washer and dryer. Responsive hosts. Even left fresh cookies for us when we checked in.

Capturing your attention as you’re coming around the mountain, relive your cowboy dreams and sit by a flickering campfire. Rough it in style and convenience with modern amenities and a down home country feeling to boot. Hit the trails nearby on your fancy ATV, or lower your hat over your eyes as you lounge on your saddle blanket, and wait for supper to roast.
Each cozy cabin has been named with a theme, with matching décor for a unique and pleasant stay. We know you may like what’s been done, so just choose the cabin that best fits your needs. Campfire Cove has one bedroom on the main floor with a queen bed, a bathroom with linen and amenities, and a full-size kitchen and dining area plus a small sofa. There is a latter that leads up to the loft where you will find two full futons that come with extra mattress toppers and bedding. There are two bean bag chairs, a table and family games to play. In the lower level of the cabin, there is a futon, a mini refrigerator, a table with six chairs, a pool table, a three-quarter bath, a laundry room with full-size washer and dryer, two extra cots, and more bedding. Outside there is a BBQ grill and a fire pit for your enjoyment.
  • What a wonderful getaway into the Southern Utah backcountry! Cozy Cabins are somewhat off the beaten path, which is exactly what we were looking for. My wife and I took the family away for the weekend after Christmas to unwind, get some fresh air, and relax after a stressful holiday season. Cozy Cabins delivered, and then some! The cabins pack a great punch for their size, due to their wonderful location, setup, cleanliness, and layout. While we went in the winter, and it was VERY cold, we still were able to get outside just enough to tire the kids out, and have room inside to spread out and relax. If you are travelling there during the winter, chains are almost a must, or at least 4 wheel drive with some snow driving experience is recommended. It can get pretty difficult during winter storms. The cabin has what could be considered three levels; a downstairs game room that has plenty of space, a bathroom, laundry room, games, and a tv; the main level that has the kitchen, a small couch, a bathroom, and master bedroom; and the loft, which has a couple couches and bean bags. We had such a wonderful time, we plan on travelling back here during the summer months to do some more of the extensive hiking that is possible in the area.

  • This cabin is great! Would definitely stay here again.

  • Super cozy spot in between Zion + Bryce. Only downside is that there are no restaurants around this area so make sure you eat up before you arrive! Other than that we all enjoyed the lovely fire pit! Can't wait to come back! 5 Stars!!!

  • This place is beautiful - very nice touches from the little boots that hold your shower curtain, to the usb chargers on the night table. Definitely one of those places that make you want to buy a similar place right away 👍🏽☺️ - love at first site. 😍. If you ever sell, please think of me! I will be back! D

  • This was an absolutely beautiful space! We had Swiss friends with us who were just enamored with a true American style cabin. Thank you for thinking of everything we could possibly need for a pleasant stay. It was just perfect!

  • The Campfire Cove cabin was amazing and a wonderful place to stay for our trip to Utah. The proximity to the National Parks was convenient - within reasonable driving distances but well away from the crowds. The cabin itself was immaculate and the thoughtfulness behind the amenities was fantastic and greatly appreciated. We will certainly return!

  • Great place! The location was amazing as well as the cabin. It was a perfect getaway for my friends and I. We wanted to go hiking at Bryce and this was only about 40 minutes away. The wrap around porch was amazing, we spent a lot of time hanging out on it. The beds were comfortable and I love how open the floor plan was. (I kept wishing it was my own cabin, so beautiful!) They late us check in early and out late which was very appreciated. The place was clean and cozy, it was honestly perfect. The only minor complaints were that the oven wasn't working (or we couldn't figure it out) and the 3rd room down in the basement is a bit secluded so if you have kiddos they might be scared but it worked fine for our group. The basement had a bar and popcorn maker and another area to lounge. Multiple bathrooms, washer and drier, huge fridge! Definitely would stay here again in the future if we head down south again! Thank you, Matthew!

  • This location is great. It's beautiful, we saw deer every day along with other wildlife. It has an amazing view and is easy to get to from he highway once you know where you're going. Beds were comfortable, there was more than enough space, and all emenities we needed were readily available. Make sure you do shopping before you arrive- we picked stuff up in St George about an hour away and put cold items in freezer bags for the drive which worked out great. Enjoy your stay- I recommend! Oh- tip for arrival, look behind bushes when searching for the street sign to turn in on. There is a bush that blocks visability of the street sign on the right when driving up to the cabin. If the road starts to descend, you've gone too far.

  • If you want to enjoy family time in a beautiful location near Bryce and Zion National Parks like we did, Nate and Melissa’s home will add to your enjoyment. Their home is new, in a delightful area of homes spread out in a wilderness area. There are three floors, each with a bedroom and bathroom so my husband and I had the top floor with a master bedroom, complete with jetted tub and gas fireplace to ourselves. Our son and wife had the downstairs with their own bedroom, bathroom, living area and television which they enjoyed . Our single son had a bedroom and bathroom and the living areas on the main floor. The kitchen had every dish, pan, linen, glasses and gadgets you could want to cook if you desire, as well as spices and condiments to help make your meals complete. The booking was easy, communication quick and pleasant and the home was easy to find and access. The decor is new, fresh and charmingly outdoorsy with many moose, bear and nature related accents. The beds and linens were comfy and we all slept well. The master bed is on the soft side. The downstairs stays a little cooler so a space heater is available and warms it up cozy. There are games to play, four televisions, starlit nights and many outdoor activities. Gas is available a few minutes away with a small minimart. If you need actual groceries you will need to pick them up about 25 minutes away. We stayed three nights and would have liked to stay longer. Because of late snow, most of the hikes in Bryce were closed, but we were able to enter the park and walk from Sunrise Point to Sunset Point witnessing wonderous views. At Zion almost every hike was open and there were plenty to choose from and a wonderful visitor center. Zion has an area just outside the park serviced by shuttle buses that run frequently where you can enjoy many restaurants, rock shops, a candy store and other interesting stores highlighting local crafts . We would highly recommend this home for your family if you want to make more precious memories and we thank Nate and Melissa for their hospitality and the care they spent making their home a treasure .

  • Beautiful modern cabin. Our family loved the large, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting areas, fireplaces, nice beds, and all the space! Nice decor with lots of hardwood and tile floors. The cabin is located conveniently between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. Access from the highway is easy yet the cabin is still semi-secluded. We wish we could have stayed longer! Nate and Melissa were great hosts.

Downstairs there is a place for the kids to play boardgames and watch tv. Bryce en Zion are only 45 minutes away. There is a walmart at 45 minutes for your shopping. • Nice house, as described. Beds were comfortable and plentiful and access is very easy without 4x4. Kitchen well stocked and clean. About 45 to 90 minutes from parks and Grand Staircase sites. Just be careful driving at sunrise and dusk--deer everywhere!

  • The Elk Cabin is amazing! Tastefully decorated with all the amenities you can think of. The location could not be any better, almost equidistant from Bryce and Zion. The cabin itself is a half mile drive from highway 89, and unfortunately for us, Alton received more than 2 ft of snow the previous weekend. As a result, it was harder to locate the house in the dark, since the snow ploughing had blocked the driveway. Joe and Liz were very helpful, especially since the arrived past midnight in sub-zero temperatures to help us turn our stuck cars (yeah, they were FWD) around and advised us on leaving the non 4x4 vehicles at the gas station in town.

A propane heater, AC unit and ceiling fan are in the room for guest comfort (according to season.) There is WIFI but no phone service for most providers.
Alton is a small little town surrounded by rolling hills and has a beautiful view of the edge of Bryce Canyon. This is a small, family community consisting of only nine blocks. On warm evenings feel free to stroll around town and enjoy all the sight of fields, hills and possibly even some livestock. Don't forget to take a picture with our unique "Whoa" stop signs.
  • The hidden cabins are a really good off-the-beaten-path home base to explore southwestern Utah. Simple and quiet and just what I was looking for. Make sure to catch a view of the red cliffs over Alton in the sunset light!

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. The stars were brilliant! Alton is a charming place. The directions to the cabin were clear. We arrived after dark, but we're still able to find our way there.

• The place was very clean and the host was extremely nice. We got lost in our way there and the host was able to guide me through the small town even though it was late, after 10pm. I also managed to lock myself outside. The host wrote back within minutes and was able to unlock the place. The place is small, but it had everything we needed. It is an isolated area, perfect if you want to take photos of the Milky Way.

  • Great stay, has everything you need and more. Cabin was cozy, host was wonderful. Read directions carefully to find, it’s off the beaten path but great proximity to national parks!

  • The Hidden Valley Cabins are a perfect home base from which to explore southern Utah! This is not a resort location, but the description is absolutely accurate - simple, clean, warm, comfortable, and perfect as a place to lay your head after a day of hiking around the region. The bed is incredibly comfortable, and the room is comfy and simple. For those requiring their technology, there is NO cell service in the area - however, they have a solid Wi-Fi signal that is strong and fast enough to stream a television show. The location is not "near" any specific location, but it is very central to many gorgeous locations in the region - less than an hour to Bryce Canyon NP and Zion NP, about 75 minutes to Kodachrome and Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Parks, and about 2 1/2 hours to Capitol Reef NP. From a hospitality standpoint, our host's representative reached out to us ahead of a serious drop in temperature to make sure we knew how to control the heating unit. It was a small touch, but reminded us that we were a valued guest whose comfort was important. It was a great value, and when we return we intend to stay with Jacey and Josh again!

  • We enjoyed our stay at Jacey & Josh's cabin. It was only for one night, but with a good location, easy to find by car, hassle-free check-in and -out. The cabin had everything we needed.

  • Communication with the host was very easy prior and during our stay. The cabin was great for a one night stay between our visits to Bryce and Zion NPs. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

  • The cabin was just what we needed for our trip. The bed was very comfortable and the stars from our doorstep were unbelievable!! We loved the area and had a great stay!
