Cruxton Studio, an Idyllic Countryside Escape in Dorset

Tucked away amongst fields down a Dorset country Lane, Cruxton Studio is the perfect getaway. After an invigorating walk, return for tea and a homemade Dorset Apple Cake or simply sit outside and listen to the wildlife. Clean lines and soft tones create a fresh feel, while sweeping skies make it an ideal spot for stargazing. To view external images, visit the details of our other studio, Kingfisher Lodge. The studio is open plan and newly fitted with a very comfortable double bed, table, chairs, sofa, wardrobe, Smart TV, WiFi and very efficient heating. The kitchen is well equipped with an induction hob, multi function cooker/microwave and fridge. The bathroom offers a good size shower, wash basin, loo and heated towel rail. Outside there is a purpose built shed for coats, boots etc. Laundry package upon request. Guests are welcome to spend time by the river bank. Access is through a little gate with a willow arch further down the lane. The studio is independent to the house but I'm usually around if you need anything Cruxton is a small hamlet with a handful of dwellings. The river Frome meanders its way through the fields next to the studio. A mile down the lane is the village of Maiden Newton with its newsagent, fish and chip shop, garage, restaurant, and shops where locally sourced food and the 'Cook' range are available. The property is surrounded by beautiful countryside with walks and cycle rides straight from the door and the Jurassic Coast is only a 20 minute drive away. The accommodation is accessed by car although we are on the National Cycle Trail route 26 and Maiden Newton has a main line train station. Welcome pack includes home made Dorset apple cake or seasonal vegetables from the garden.

The barn is a beautifully converted stable. Open plan, cosy but stylish. Great music system, tv, free sat. On a farm but private. Under floor heating throughout and a well kitted kitchen. 1 lovely bedroom with bath and storage. Separate bathroom. Camp beds available for 2 : no older than 10ish. The Victorian Reading Room of West Stafford is of historical importance. Used before the war as a Reading Room for the villagers and estate workers, the newspapers were provided, the village shop in the late 1930s, then a workshop and a store room for the church. Piddlehinton is a special place, 20 mins from the Jurassic Coast and 10 mins from Dorchester, in the renowned Piddle Valley, with beautiful walks, views and award winning pub, The Thimble Inn. This property is a beautifully converted garage. It is detached at the front of the property and you have complete privacy. You can park your car directly in front of the Airbnb where there is seating for Airbnb use only. It is a very quiet village and at night if you switch all the lights off and it is a clear night you can see the Milky Way. A newly converted hayloft set up as a one bedroom house. Pitched, beamed ceiling in bed/sitting room, own kitchen downstairs. Spacious shower room, separate small WC No TV but WiFi. Private entrance from village lane into property. In the heart of the Bride Valley so perfect for all year round walkers and nature lovers. Jurassic Coast 5 miles away. One of the richest areas in the UK for hill forts and ancient earthworks. Very houseproud so regrettably no pets and no smokers.
