  • This adorable cottage with an unbeatable view was the perfect location for our 2 couple family getaway. The house was warm and cozy, comfortable and peaceful. We slept like rocks in the comfortable beds! The house was clean and well set up with lots of homey touches. By far, one of the best parts of this experience was Mike and Bonnie themselves. Funny, accommodating, and generous, they made us feel like old friends coming to stay, not strangers. They even helped us get our US money exchanged for Canadian. They truly went above and beyond. I highly recommend staying here if you get the chance. You won't be disappointed.

  • This has to be my favorite Airbnb to date. Everything from the amenities to the location was absolutely perfect. The views from the living area windows are phenomenal and was mesmerizing to watch the ever changing tides. The entire home seemed new and was spotless! Every convenience of home was found easily and then some. Many thoughtful amenities including binoculars to watch the birds, brochures/maps, fire pit, nice patio area with table and chairs. Very roomy with two bedrooms and two gorgeous full baths. The upstairs King bed has to be the most comfortable luxurious bed I have ever slept in. Satellite TV, WiFi ( spotty at times) Landline phone, washer/dryer, grill, fireplace and so much more. And the view, did I mention the view!? Such a private location but close enough to Digby for food and shopping. Chris was a super cool host and was such a pleasure to met. Such a fabulous value stay. If your dates are available, do not hesitate to book, you will regret it if you don’t!!!

    Mare2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • I went to Digby primarily for whale watching, which was promptly cancelled due to weather. However, this Airbnb made up for it and turned out to a highlight of the trip. Very well appointed, clean, and comfortable. Thoughtful touches abound and you can't beat a peaceful yet convenient location.

    Katie2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Beach House was amazing! You won’t be disappointed if you stay here! Chris and Terry are responsive and very friendly and have built a luxurious home! The views from the deck are postcard worthy. We were sad to leave and plan to return again!

    Mark2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Beach House is located on a secluded bay, which is characterized by the Tide. Bald eagles, hummingbirds and cormorants can be seen there every day. The house has an exceptional decor, very thoughtful in every respect, with modern appliances and exceptionally tasteful decoration with artistic aspiration. The view of the sea is "awesome". The highlight, however, is the owners Chris and Terry, who took great care of us during the Dorian storm and subsequent two-day power outage.

    _Erich2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this place. The location was beautiful, peaceful and very clean and we'll decorated. Very easy to feel at home. Exceeded our expectations a great deal!

    Heather2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This home is in a private location with nature all around and has great outdoor space as well as indoor space. The view is fabulous. The beds are exceptionally comfortable and have high-end bedding to top it off. The home is very stylish and feels welcoming. Chris is a gracious host. She is just next door if you need anything, but provides lots of privacy to renters. It is by far the nicest Airbnb that I have rented and is an excellent value. It is very well located for exploring the area. This home is a gem!

    Lorien2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from a beautiful week at the beach house, where do I begin. This place is one of the most beautiful relaxing places I have been to. The house, the view, everything about this place is perfect. Chris and Terry are amazing hosts they make sure you have everything you need and more. If you are planning on booking here you definitely need to book more then a few days to make sure you are able to enjoy the tranquility of it. The town of Digby is only a few minutes drive and has everything you need. We made sure to book another week for next year before we left and look forward to enjoying this little piece of heaven again.

  • Bring a pencil & eraser to participate in the crossword books located in both drawers beside the bed! I thought this was a super fun and thoughtful touch to the room! Everything was sparkling clean, cute and thoughtful little decor/plants - this was my first AirBnB that I have stayed in so it has definitely set my expectations of my future stays high. My partner and I made a super last minute reservation and Edward was happy to accommodate us. We really enjoyed the balcony and watching the tide/boats go in and out throughout the day and night. If ever in the area again, I would 100% book here!

    Ashley2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely loft space with an amazing view of the harbor. I will always remember waking up to see the fishing boats heading out as the sun rose, breaking through the mist over the ocean. It doesn't get more quintessentially Nova Scotia than that!

    Heather2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Edward’s place is a great location, nice view spacious room, super clean and comfortable bed, I would definitely recommend his place.

    Amanda2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Edward's place is very stylish, clean and is in an awesome location. It was an overall enjoyable stay!

    David2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • A comfortable and spotless suite with amazing waterfront views in the heart of Digby. A great place to stay while you explore this part of Nova Scotia. Edward is very responsive and helpful.

    David2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very attractive apartment. Easily found and accessed. Well appointed. All you need for a short stay. If it had been warmer it would have been lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down.

    Trixie2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Bright, roomy second floor suite, looking out over the harbour. Very quiet & private. Comfortable king sized bed. Kitchenette was adequate for breakfast & the Dockside Restaurant next door was so good we went back the second night!

The patio doors off the living room take you to the front deck which overlooks the spacious front yard and lake. A fully equipped kitchen, laundry room and also bonus amenities (Wifi & Satelitte TV) await you at this cottage. Come enjoy lake living on Porters Lake!
  • Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! The cottage was beautiful, comfortable and modern! Everything about our stay was amazing and easy! We were even able to use the small utility room in one of the rooms for a dark space for our playpen for our 8 month old daughter! We also very much enjoyed being able to have our fur babies with us! Thanks again!

    Angel2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible place to stay! Porters Lake is a hidden gem and the host went above and beyond our expectations! The sunsets and stars are incredible!

    Krystalyn2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is nestled among the trees overlooking the lake. The view is just breathtaking and the cottage is so cute! However our trip was cut in half because of Hurricane Dorian and we were sad to leave. My daughter is blind and the cottage was perfect for her to get around independently. She absolutely loved it too. You are about 10 kilometres from the town of Digby, where you can find groceries, restaurants, and anything else you would need. It’s also just a day trip to Brier Island on Digby Neck. We are looking forward to our return trip!

    Kelly2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • A team of us stayed at Stanley's Air BNB for the Wharf Rat Rally. As we arrived Stanley greeted us and welcomed us to the property. The actual cottage was spotless and very clean! We had a washer and dryer on site which made it very comfortable as we could wash our clothes as needed. The bedrooms were spacious and provided a cozy feel. There was coffee ready in the cottage, which was so nice to start each day with. Lots of cooking supplies, dishes, utensils, baking sheets etc. Overall, our stay was wonderful - we didn't get to use the paddleboard or canoe, but we definitely will be back! I would highly recommend staying at this cozy cottage in the woods.

    Julia2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a hidden gem. A peaceful oasis close to fresh seafood and lots of small town charm. The cottage is sparkling clean and very well equipped. We wanted for nothing during our stay and the kayaks/paddle board were an unexpected surprise. We would definitely stay here again.

    Tanya2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a fantastic family getaway! The property was stunning with beautiful lakefront and a classy, well decorated and maintained cottage! This was our first Airbnb experience and we truly could not have asked for anything more! Everything was available onsite including kayaks and a paddle board. Our family thoroughly enjoyed these! We are already planning a return trip next summer!

    Stephanie2019-08-23T00:00:00Z

Water front 1740s second oldest on the Granville Ferry. 1000 sq ft loft up/down completely renovated charming with a 8x10 ft deck. Visit one of Annapolis oldest neighbourhoods. Access to the water and on low tides a sandy beach that you can walk. Lily pad is a great place to play cards, laugh and make memories.
Completely updated with some old charm highlighted. Enjoy the modern comforts of heat pumps with air conditioning while enjoying reclaim details from various spots in the house built 200 years ago. What a view and neighbourhood, expect friendly hellos from the neighbours while being super close to all the attractions of the area or simply enjoy a local IPA or wine from the valley on your private deck watch the tides and shoreline.
  • This little gem was exactly what the Dr. Ordered...no literally! We arrived for 4 nights just as the Covid-19 pandemic was taking hold. Jay was so thoughtful to have done extra cleaning and sanitation before we arrived and even left extra disinfectant supplies to make us feel comfortable during such a crazy time in the world. Jay is a very gracious host that had some awesome treats waiting for us!! Very well stocked kitchen and even toiletry products incase we forgot the essentials. We absolutely loved our staycation and can't wait to come back in the summer! Time your morning expresso or latte (great machine provided) around the sunrise...they are breathtaking! Thanks again Jay!! :)

    Lisa2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this little spot! It is tiny and perfect. Tastefully decorated and full of many extras in the kitchen, which we wish were included in every Airbnb. Gorgeous view, private and comfortable. Jason was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We wouldn’t hesitate to rebook.

  • Very charming home with everything you could possibly need for a great stay and really great hosts.

    Trevor2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 would stay again!! This space was carefully thought out, with everything you need. We enjoyed a bonfire which was a real treat. And our dog loved it too!!

    Casey2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot use enough words to describe how awesome this place was. I had great expectations based on the listing, but they were surpassed when I arrived. I think when the concept of Airbnb was thought of, this matches the model!

    Lawrence2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place. Very few homes have made me feel as comfortable, relaxed and energized ! Great local hiking trails, FULLY equipped kitchen which was a dream to cook in. I’m usually not a fan of shower stalls, but that shower is a DREAM. Our pups were so happy! We had the best vacation and would go back anytime. I’m sure this will be a hard spot to book because it’s so great. THANK YOU!

    Ashley2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is amazing! We got to meet the hosts - lovely folks. Beautiful view. Nicely decorated and organized. So many thoughtful touches in Mama’s Lily Pad. We especially loved the beautiful dishes and mugs! The kitchen is wonderfully equipped. Bed was comfortable. Very cozy!

20min from Annapolis Royal with it's vibrant seasonal Farmers Mkt., Gift & Antique Shops, Restaurants, Arts & Culture. 5min to Port Royal Habitat., 25min to Upper Clements. But really, why go anywhere?. Everyone loves Jimmy's Cottage. This place is good for your soul. Amazing view of The River & The North & South Mountains that form The Valley. Access to beach is at end of lot , be amazed at the high & low tides., hunt for sea glass & watch seals. My place is good for solos, cpls &, families.
Master bedroom is on the main floor. 2 other small bedrooms are in the converted attic. Please note that The Cottage maximum is 4 adults (there is only one bathroom (off the kitchen) and the bedrooms in the attic are just 2 small rooms with beds (see pics). It gets hot upstairs in the summer, and chilly in the winter, but there are fans and heaters in both rooms. Hot Tub back up and running :)
Pls note this Cottage is in Port Wade ( Postal Code points to Granville Ferry)
  • We are return guests to this lovely cottage. Such a great place to unwind and enjoy nature. Sandra is a gem to deal with!

    Nicole2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jimmy’s cottage most definitely exceeded our expectations. It was so cute and cozy, exceptionally clean and tidy. The location is spot on with many places to Hike and adventure close by. The cottage overlooks the ocean, providing a great view when dining or relaxing in the hot tub outside. Sandra and Jim were great hosts, I could text them at any point and receive a reply very quickly. They were so kind to provide complementary drinks to get us started on our vacay, and a smart TV and wifi(with good connection!!) to enjoy as well. Overall, a 5 stars is definitely deserved here. Thank you for helping us make our weekend so wonderful!

    Victoria2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view, quiet, wood stove and hot tub.....need I say more

    William2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this place- quite the view! The very friendly touches of the cottage make all the difference for a weekend getaway. We will be delighted to return.

    Jennifer2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a long weekend in the winter and it was so cozy! The woodstove is great and really warms up the whole cottage! Sandra and Jim left a really great supply of wood and kindling for us. The hot tub under the stars, overlooking the ocean was dreamy. We had such a lovely time. Get over to Pension Pies if you can (roadside sign on your way back towards Annapolis Royal/Halifax) or stop by their stall at the market!! Swoon over those pies and scones, I'm tellin' ya. This cottage was lovely - plus, great value!

    Robyn2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • My parents had a great stay at Sandra and Jim’s cottage! Loved the hot tub and woodstove, and just a short drive to Annapolis Royal.

    Jocelyn2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place. Amazing time. You can’t ask for better hosts, invisible and completely accommodating. We will absolutely be returning.

    Shelley2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely charming place. It was the first time I've felt truly relaxed in years - I attribute it to the woodstove and hot tub! Bed was comfy (king size memory foam), the beach combing was great, and Sandra was very helpful and friendly.

This charming building was built 1720's in the oldest home is well located in the heart of Granville ferry village across the water from Annapolis Royal. You have full parking, your own entrance and the freedom to come and go as you need. The unit is its own space completely private. Recently moved to Nova Scotia from BC, we are LOVING the area, Whale watching, great lobster, sunsets and great local wines and beers. Get ready to say hello a lot as the locals are as charming as the sight seeing.
New queen bed with extra sheets, towles everything you need from home. Enjoy the coffee, tea and other things in the fridge. Enjoy a campfire while the sun goes down and Pets are welcome. The charm of the place is the post and beam construction, In the 1720's nothing was perfect so, you feel it in this home and part of the charm. :)
Neighbourhood is terrific, 2 minutes from Annapolis Royal, 15 minutes from Victoria Beach, 7 minutes from the shore, 20 minutes to Digby, 20 minutes to Bridge Town. Basically, your surrounded by culture, history and close to everything.
  • Beautiful stay. I stayed in the Lily Pad place instead of my booking at their other AirBNB due to renovations . The LilyPad is well stocked with anything you may need to cook a few meals, extra bathroom amenities, great wifi and some very thoughtful touches to make me feel welcome. It has a stunning view and a nice chunk of backyard. It has all the modern things you need to make life easy while maintaining the charm and beauty of an old home.

    Allison2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Old world charm with modern amenities. Jay more than accommodated us when he allowed us to check in 3 days earlier even though he was renovating next door. As he felt we wouldn’t have the best stay under those circumstances, he upgraded us by moving us to his other rental property. My husband especially enjoyed the terrific view of the basin and the daily flow of the tide. Lily Pad included a spacious kitchen with a large island. Jay stocked cupboards and the fridge with many complimentary items. The espresso machine was a much appreciated addition. Overall, we enjoyed our stay immensely. Thanks Jay!

    Susan2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • This space was absolutely lovely and I'd highly recommend you stay here. Not only is the view spectacular but the peaceful energy and love poured into this space by Jay, was definetely felt and enjoyed. Until next time Jay...and they'll be a next time! ;)

  • Jay’s place was great! We were in the Valley for a wedding and it was such an excellent location. The place is very clean, nicely decorated, and very cozy. I loved the little gas fireplace in the bedroom. We had a great weekend there and would definitely go back for a longer stay!

    Jenna2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Mama’s Waterfront cute Bachelor is exactly what it is. Quaint, cute, comfortable and clean with all you need for kitchen amenities. Jay is friendly and welcoming. • We loved our stay here! Amazing spot inside and out. Love the way it was decorated and the hosts were amazing, always quick to respond when I had a question! Highly recommend this cabin/chalet!!!

    Cl2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! Everything you could want in a place to get away. A little further off the beaten path than we expected but very quiet in fall and amazing fall colours everywhere we looked! We would definitely stay here again, so much to do and see within a 2hr drive and only 20min to Annapolis Royal for groceries or wandering historic sites and the waterfront. Had no issues with the internet data cap (despite watching election results for 4+ hrs). Coffee maker is a multi option one cup (you can do k-cups or it has a brew basket for ground coffee) and a small teapot also available. Amy was very quick to respond to questions and the guide she provides when you book was very helpful (with directions, details and recommendations).

  • Great cottage, would highly recommend!

    Jenna2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location. Spectacular views. Immaculately kept cabin. Perfect for a relaxing getaway!!! Amy was super helpful and communicative. I'd highly recommend!

    Ami2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cottage. It looked just like the photos. Waking up by the lake was beautiful and the atmosphere was very peaceful. We couldn't have had a more relaxing stay. Amy was great at communicating before and during our stay. She provided several recommendations for food and local activities. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen and pantry had everything we needed and we even played a mean game of Life. We wish the cottage was much closer to us in Maryland. Thanks for everything Amy.

  • Exceptional spot. Everything was as advertised or better. We stayed just after hurricane Dorian and Amy was extremely communicative about the power situation and let us know as soon as it was back on. 10/10 would stay again.

  • Tall Pine Cove is absolutely amazing. It has everything you could ever need and more. We enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back next year and stay much longer. Truly the best getaway and a place for relaxation.

  • Staying at Amy’s beautiful cottage on Grand Lake was the best way to end Summer 2019. We were so impressed by the stylish and comfortable space. You have everything you need..The lake was amazing, we enjoyed a few canoe excursions and our dog loved being able to swim. Close by to the cafes, restaurants, shops and more in Annapolis Royal (but it’s certainly hard to leave the cottage!). I can’t recommend Amy’s cottage enough it was perfect! We hope to return next summer.

  • Paula was an excellent host and the unit met our needs for the one night stay. Paula gave us lots of helpful suggestions on where to go and what to see. The unit had pretty much everything you would need including an air conditioner which was very helpful as it was a very hot day. The landscaping is beautiful and having the deck to relax on was a definite benefit.

  • The Barn at Lazy Bear Brewing was one of the most breathtaking accommodations I have ever staid in. The barn itself is a beautiful space, with modern updates, comfortable living and sleeping spaces and gorgeous views. It was spotless with no detail left out. Erin was welcoming, helpful and respectful of our privacy. We came in the off season, but will be back to stay and to take advantage of the brewery below.

  • Gorgeous views from a great space to stay. Wonderfully renovated barn property, clean and bright. Great for a little getaway. Had everything you could need to make it home away from home.

  • The pictures do not do this place justice. What a gorgeous spot. The apartment was so spacious with a very comfy bed and deep tub. The kitchen was fully functional with everything I needed at my fingertips. Quiet, private and very relaxing. The view of the bay was absolutely stunning through the huge windows, even in winter. We loved watching the boats come in and out of Digby Gut. The walk to the beach was beautiful. The beer was also really yummy and affordable. We would absolutely stay here again.

  • Thank you Erin for a wonderful experience for our family. We appreciate the extras for the little ones that made our stay smoother. An incredibly tasteful, clean and spacious space... and the view!!! I think it is one of the nicest spaces available and the price point is very reasonable for everything it has to offer. Thank you again!

  • Amazing spot!!! So relaxing, tastefully decorated and beautiful view! Erin and Andy are such great hosts! So quick to respond and very accommodating! They opened the brewery for us and even let us run down and fill another growler after hours! Their beer is absolutely delicious as well! We can’t wait to come again :)

Located within the historic summer resort property of Harbourview, this 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment is fully self contained for your comfort and convenience. Full access to all property amenities (pool, tennis court, play area) are included in your rental and only steps away. The unit is bright and spacious with a set up conducive to privacy. Close to Digby, Annapolis Royal, Bear River, Digby Neck and Islands and the Acadian French Shore there are no shortage of things to do and sea!
Originally built as a casino in the 1930's ( dance floor large enough for 150 couples) the property was the site of weekly dances and other social gatherings. In 1941 the building burnt to the ground but was rebuilt to the exact measurements on the original site. My parents bought the Inn and Harbourview property in the early 60's continuing to utilize the dance hall into the 70's where it had eventually evolved into a children's program site ( children of guests staying on the property and Inn could put their children into daily supervised programs ) . The dance hall was eventually transformed into apartments, laundromat and workshop in the early 80's then most recently into a private residence. The guest unit I am renting has been fully renovated and reinvented this past winter 2019.

  • My partner and I went here for our anniversary and it was so special to unplug and be away with each other! Bryan and Tanya were great hosts, and even brought us fresh eggs from their chickens when we told them we forgot to pick up eggs. The cabin is magical and so cozy. We will definitely be back :)

  • This is a perfect spot to run away! Me and my friend needed a break from kids and work, we really enjoyed a night at this cabin. It's very clean, was pretty easy to find and Tanya was super nice and helpful! We loved everything about our stay. We chopped some wood, got a nice toasty warm fire going and slept amazing! Highly recommend if you need a getaway! Thanks again for having us!

  • This was the perfect place for my husband, dog and I to get away for a few days and enjoy nature and each other without distractions. I booked this as a gift for my husband and we spent two nights here over New Years. It was just the recharge we needed after a stressful few months. This is a cute rustic camp with adorable touches (candle holders, flowers, doggy watering hole) it is just enough space without feeling cramped. I’m not a huge fan of outhouses, but this was more of a bathroom than an outhouse. The first thing I noticed was a hilarious statue and more thoughtful touches. We were able to explore the woods with our dog and cook meals on the wood stove. I was even able to read a whole book! I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to put their phone away and explore. Bryan and Tanya are wonderful hosts and will make you feel at home!

    Jessica2020-01-01T00:00:00Z

  • This property left me 100% satisfied. The communication with the owners was very friendly and prompt. The access and check in was so easy. The property was very clean and well maintained inside and out. This property is within walking distance to everything Annapolis Royal has to offer. I stayed at this property for 3 nights as I was traveling for work. I will be sure to use this Air BnB as long as it is available for all of my trips to Annapolis. I highly recommend this rental.

  • Great spot to stay

    David2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Angela is a great host. Our little guy loved the play room with plenty of toys, and the playground right across from the house. Nice grill in the backyard. It was a complete house with everything we needed, really! Would stay here again.

    Gillis2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely historic house right in the centre of Annapolis Royal. The house has real character and comfort, within easy walking distance of everything Annapolis Royal has to offer. Angela was a great host and kept in touch before and after to make sure everything was okay (we stayed one week after the hurricane so this was especially welcome). The house is ‘fully equipped’ with washing machine, two bathrooms, good WiFi, and Netflix access (account or extra payment required).

    David2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint spot right in town. Angela is a wonderful and thoughtful host!

    Paige2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Roomy and bright. Excellent location close to everything.

    Kenzie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed 3 nights at Angela's Riverhouse and loved the house. The location was great for exploring the town and close to places to eat and shop. It was centrally located for visiting the area. Everything was clean and well kept. If traveling with a family there were plenty of games and other things to do in the house if you happen to have a rainy day. The towels were plush and the bed I used was very comfortable. The jam that Angela left me was delicious and gave me something to eat in the mornings before venturing out. There are two smaller grocery stores nearby, one even walkable, if you need to pick up any supplies. The internet access was also great. Having the back yard was nice also and I even had a short visit from Snow one of the local cats which I enjoyed. I would recommend this rental to anyone visiting the area.

  • This lakefront spot is truly a gem. The home is exceptionally clean an outfitted with comfortable furniture and an amazing tub! We visited in October so couldn't take advantage of the pool, but the deck overlooking the lake with the fire pit was magical and I didn't want to leave it. Sharon is a wonderful, considerate host who is available at a moment's notice.

    Emily2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Hidden Gem is such a special place. A great place when you really need some RnR. We spent two nights there and totally took advantage of the amenities the first night (Mother Nature had other plans for our second night with hurricane Dorian) however Sharon was all too quick to continually check in on us and make sure we weren’t in need of anything, even went above and beyond our last morning with hot water for us to have coffee delivered to the door and offered to feed us breakfast at their home. We have already started looking at future dates, and can not wait to return to the hidden gem. :)

    Sheila2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place will not disappoint. It is extremely quiet and peaceful, the pool is absolutely lovely, and the view is stunning, especially the sun rise and sun set over the water. Sharon went out of her way to add a personal touch to make our visit even more special. Truly a wonderful place to stay!

    Melanie2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing hidden gem. Our family had a great time playing the pool, enjoying the waterfront patio, and watching the humming birds and bald eagles. Highly recommend.

    David2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truly perfect if you want a beautiful, relaxing vacation! The view as you drive up to the side of the cottage will take your breath away! Our whole family LOVED having our morning coffee on the deck down on the lake...the lake is so calm at times it looks like a mirror...the sounds of nature as you breathe in the morning air are perfect for recharging your energy... We also LOVED spending time in the beautiful pool as a family and taking the paddle boat out for a few spins was super fun. Ending our days with a bonfire lakeside as a family was also a huge highlight for us! Sharon is a wonderful host. We are a French Acadian family and were there over the Acadian celebrations on August 15th. Sharon had sent us the itinerary of the local activities for that day. We made our way down to the “Tintamarre” and free concert in the evening. What a fun experience! The whole community of Clare sure knows how to show their Acadian pride!! Sharon had also recommended a restaurant with authentic Acadian cuisine in the neighboring community of Saulnierville, “La Cuisine Robichaud”. It did not disappoint. Delicious food and very generous portions! Overall we had a WONDERFULLY MEMORABLE family vacation and would not hesitate for one minute to return to Sharon’s property! In fact, we truly hope to be able to return some day! Thank you Sharon and David! This was exactly what our family needed this year! Having been diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of the year and going through chemo and radiation was a pretty trying time for me and my whole family...but being able to come together as a family in such a beautiful and peaceful location was perfect! Thank you for sharing your “hidden gem” with us! It was a pleasure meeting both of you! A la prochaine!

    Lynn2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Hidden Gem was all we expected and more. There were so many thoughtful little touches like balloons for my daughter's birthday and a map to the best fishing spot for her boyfriend, coffee, bottled water and a little basket of toiletries for things one was bound to forget (which we did ha ha!). We felt spoiled with the private pool (80 degrees!) and gazebo and only wish we had a few more days to enjoy the peace! We hope to come back again next year! Thanks so much for hosting us! :) Scott, Lurinda, Kailee and Jeremy

  • Right on the ocean!

    Renae2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience staying in Sunset Cottage was all we hoped for and more. The cottage location was perfect for our participation in the Gran Fondo. So clean and comfortable. We walked on the beach, sat on the deck and cooked some great meals. An added touch was finding breakfast foods and condiments in the fridge. Beautiful quilts on the beds and really intriguing art work. Speedy Internet. Hope they will have us back.

    Susan2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house was impeccable. Very clean and EVERYTHING you would need. Fantastic for extended stays. The breakfast materials were a lovely touch and perfect for our late night arrival with no time to hit the grocery store. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The view of the water was wonderful and I got to collect a few shells on an early morning walk on the beach. Lovely deck for a coffee in the sun. SO clean, lots of space, epecially for 4 ladies to do a little cooking and dancing in the kitchen. The communication was so clear and helpful, they even offered to let us stay an extra day when the power was out from the hurricane. Overall a wonderful place to stay and a joy to come back to after a day of whale watching.

    Amy2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stayed at the cottage was awesome, it clean, the view of the ocean was breath taking specially in the early morning and evening, watching the sun rise and set. Just wonderful!

  • This is an unique experience you must try! The bus is lovely and comfortable. We stayed two nights and had an amazing time. Sean and Tamara are really nice welcoming hosts and gave us many tips what to do around the area. We enjoyed 2 amazing sunsets at the bus and although the nights outside were cold with around 5 degrees, it was really hot and comfortable inside the bus! The communication with Sean and Tamara was perfect.

  • Clean, cozy and cute. So happy with our stay. Lots of privacy.

    Katie2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • It was a marvellous place to stay. Anyone can stay in a house, or an apartment, but a bus. That is decked out with all that you could want. Where would you want to stay? And the sounds of the fields, ponds and Bay of Fundy were magical. Would go back in an instance, this is a definite place to stay for everyone.

    Sam2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was a really nice place to stay! As expected, sleeping in a bus comes with some intricacies, but the hosts provided a nice booklet with explanations of how things work. They also did a walk through and showed us when we first got there. The cooking supplies were good. We were able to boil water for pasta and making pancakes and bacon in the morning. There was only one pan, so a second one would have been welcome when making breakfast. The hosts invited us in to their home to have showers and provided soap, shampoo, etc. The bus was parked perfectly to watch the sun set over the water in the evening, and watch the sun rise through the curtains in the back of the bus in the morning. Two small complaints, we did run out of water, but it wasn’t clear if it was due to our use or an unfilled tank and, however the hosts gave us extra bottles of water and offered to finish our dishes. Finally, use caution when saying hi to Sam (the dog). He is sweet and friendly but very hyper and will jump on you. Unfortunately he left scratches from jumping on my car as we were leaving.

    Peter2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Stay here!!!! It’s the coolest Airbnb I have ever stayed in!! Tamara is a wonderful host!

    Tiffany2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Tamara and Sean are incredibly welcoming and the entire experience was awesome. The bus is very well finished with both ingenious and stylish touches. Everything on it is well-made and feels good - right down to the lantern. At night you can see the flickering lights on the far shore - so that the view is amazing both day and night. Loved it and highly recommend treating yourself. It’s special.

Our rooms include: Queen Beds Desk Noise Cancelling Machine Ceiling and Window Fan Coffee/Tea Keurig, Sugar and Cream or Milk Microwave (in common area) Kettle (in common area) Bar Fridge (in common area) Continental Breakfast (Bagels w Cream Cheese, Granola. The History and Things to Do in the Area: Built in 1804 we are the second oldest house in Lequille NS. Our house was built by Thomas Easson the grandson of John Easson who came to Annapolis Royal in 1738 as the master carpenter at Fort Anne. We are an Annapolis County registered historic property and upon completion of the house in 1804 it was named The Ashdale. It is because of this that we named our farm Ashdale Acres. The house has historically been used for many different agricultural purposes and was a working dairy farm up until 1968. Scott and I fell in love with this house and property as soon as we saw it. Annapolis Royal, the oldest (and one of the quaintest) towns in Canada, is the home of The Historic Gardens and Fort Anne as well as many unique shops, galleries and restaurants. You can take a local tour like the Acadian Heritage Experience or the Candlelight Graveyard Tour. Have a look at the Annapolis Royal website for more ideas about what to do in Annapolis Royal. We think Lequille is pretty special too. We are a 5 minute walk to the famous Lequille Country Store which is popular for hunting and fishing supplies, but also features snacks, sandwiches, and lets not forget, Ice Cream. Right across the street, and also a 5 minute walk is Still Fired Distillery– it is the first “legal” still in Nova Scotia and it now specializes in the production of the fine, hand-crafted and unique spirits produced here. They have a beautiful tasting room and you can even sample their product in a cocktail, which makes the 5 minute walk very beneficial!
What is nearby: There is so much to do in the area, you definitely will be busy! And no matter where you go, you are guaranteed a scenic drive. In the area there are many art galleries, several wineries, quite a few breweries, antique shops and theatres. Music: You won’t get very far in Nova Scotia without having the opportunity to enjoy the great musical talent that exists here. You do not have to leave Annapolis Royal for live performances, many of the restaurants in Annapolis Royal host live music on a regular basis as does the Annapolis Brew Pub right downtown. Dawn Oman, an artist in neighbouring Bridgetown has purchased an old church on the main street. It houses her wonderful Art Gallery as well as regular music jams. The acoustics in the church are fabulous which makes every live performance a special experience. Lunn’s Mills Brewery in nearby Lawrencetown has regular music events and great food. Below we have categorized a few attractions by their distance from our location. 2 km or less: Downtown Annapolis Royal – drive, cycle or take the rail trail Lequille Country Store Still Fired Distillery Historic Gardens Fort Anne O’Dell Museum – Local history and a geneology research centre with staff to assist you. Sinclair Museum Fort View Golf Course also on the property is the Founders House, listed below. The Founders Restaurant Annapolis Royal Farmers and Traders Market – Wed/Sat in the summer Under 15 KM Port Royal Melanson Acadian Settlement Tidal Power Station Mickey Hill Loop - Hiking Trail Dunromin Campground – canoe, kayak, paddle boat rentals Upper Clements Park Nautical Seafood in Parkers Cove Under 25K Bridgetown Valleyview Provincial Park Raven Haven -beachside-family-park canoe, kayak, pedal boat rentals Bear River – galleries, wineries and cafes A Little Farther: Digby – 35KM with a store named Frenchy's that is Nova Scotia famous. An elegant turn of the century Victorian home, with wrap around veranda. Beautiful garden, and proximity to the world renowned Bay of Fundy tides, whale watching, Acadian shore of Nova Scotia. Breakfast included.
The house was built in 1901 by an Acadian craftsman, it was later purchased by a local merchant.
Weymouth was founded in 1783 by United Empire Loyalists, (Americans who were on the losing side of the American Revolution, and resettled in Canada). Next door are French speaking Acadians who settled this region after being expelled from their homes in other parts of Atlantic Canada
  • Super clean, comfy bed, and friendly folks made me feel like I was at home :)

  • Debra and Scott were amazing hosts, who were incredibly accommodating on my visit to Weymouth. Their house is beautiful, and the room was great.

    Duncan2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Debra and Scott are a charming couple and their place is a lovingly restored old house with a lot of characters. We stayed there while our son played in a tournament at University of Saint Anne, which is 12 minutes away. Debra and Scott went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

  • This is a very homey, lovely place to stay. Debra and Scott are wonderful hosts and take care of their guests making us feel like family. I would highly recommend staying at their house in Weymouth - in additional to cozy rooms and super hospitality, the breakfasts are exceptional (my favourite, peach crepes)!

Wake up to a beautiful sunrise .... across the waters of historic ANNAPOLIS ROYAL. All the conveniences plus HOT TUB & SWIMING POOL privileges. Close to town - 20 min walking, or 5 min cycling. View the spectacular changes of the BAY of FUNDY tides from your window. Swim in the pool, or the ocean (at high tide).... or relax in the sun or shade in our waterfront gardens, our little piece of PARADISO !
Our place is great for couples & solo travellers, as well as a family (using the futon bed). If you like a quiet private setting with a waterfront, this is it. The cottage is cozy, open and airy, and with a full kitchen and bath. You have your own private yard/garden space with lawn chairs and barbecue .......and that gorgeous waterfront view !
A quiet and friendly little waterfront village next to the historic town of Annapolis Royal - vibrant in arts, theatre, dining, museums and shops. Central location for all of southwest Nova Scotia, including from Kejimikijik National Park to the famous whale watching of the Bay of Fundy.
  • A lovely little cabin by the sea. Everything you will need, cosy and the most beautiful view. A warm and friendly hostess, easiest stay you can imagine.

  • Janis' cottage is a perfect size for two people. Everything needed is supplied. The backyard faces the water with a very nice view and a cute garden. Janis and Cam live next door and seem to love to speak with their guests, though I am sure they would not intrude if guests want to be left alone. They are delightful company - well-traveled and well-read. The cottage is very close to Port Royal and Annapolis Royal.

    Julia2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Janis and her husband Cam were EXCEPTIONAL hosts! They were so welcoming and generous. We LOVED their little cottage and property. Quite possibly the best view of Annapolis Royal you could ever get. Fully stocked kitchen. Sweet little bedroom. Bathroom sparkly clean and lots of towels/soap/etc. Will definitely stay again and can easily and wholeheartedly recommend to friends and family.

    Lana2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Jan and Cam’s cute little cottage. Thoroughly enjoyed the view, waterfront location and the hot tub. Jan and Cam gave us a lot of privacy as well. Would love to visit again!

    Paul2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Janis and Cam were awesome hosts and their cozy cottage and bay side gardens were lovely at the end of a busy day. Returning each day was a pleasure after days of hiking and exploring the quaint harbors and coves along the Bay of Fundy. Close to everything we wanted to see in our visit to Nova Scotia. My wife and I couldn't have stayed in a nicer place. Tim and Jean Griffin

  • We adored our stay here. The view from the cottage is spectacular, we adored having our breakfast out in the little garden, our daughter enjoyed the hot tub and pool, Cam took us on a wonderful kayaking trip, beds were comfy, and Janis and Cam were fantastic hosts.

    Denis2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Luxury takes many forms. If you are expecting the Ritz then maybe Nova Scotia isn't for you let alone Waters edge ! But if you are looking for a quaint and comfortable home for exploring the Annapolis valley then you've arrived.Jan and Cam live next door and you share the yard and pool and hot tub as public spaces but the grounds and views are spectacular. They are welcoming hosts with great local knowledge but respect your privacy as well. We explored the valley on day trips to wineries and had a great day whale watching with Jan's cousin Penny. Each day we returned home to our little refuge with stunning water views of Annapolis Royal. Thank you Jan and Cam. We hope to return someday soon. You won't find a better home away from home in the area!
