• This was a great surprise to stumble across when a trip to Barcelona I had planned for my boyfriends 30th had to be cancelled due to Corona virus. I felt lucky to have a haven in our own country to go to and when we have the sunshine there really is no need to go abroad. The treehouse is stunning and I would have been happy to self isolate for months there! The hot tub is especially a great touch in the pine trees and when the sunsets it is beautiful! A very beautiful place hidden away - we could have been in Canada! Thank you Katy!

• Wonderful location! The cabin was cute, clean and modern - the hot tub was magical to sit in and turn off the lights to watch the stars. Spoilt for choice to either just stay at the cabin or go on adventures in the local area.

• Great remote location you feel very secluded and private when in the hot tub and home. Comfy beds and nice living area perfect for a cosy winter stay like what we had and I should imagine great for a summer exploration stay aswell. We would definitely consider coming here again.

• We spent Christmas at Toad Hall and had the most magical time. The house is so unbelievably beautiful and no picture can do it justice. The house had been decorated tastefully which was a lovely touch. The hot tub was just amazing and was well used on the cold nights! We would definitely go back again without hesitation. Thank you Katy! Xxx

The cabin is a light comfortable carefully designed and newly built Scandanavian style self-contained building with a complete kitchen, separate shower room and pull down Very comfortable Queen sized bed. It has a television with integral DvD player and heating under the wooden floor. Great Wi-fi, Contemporary lighting. Please note that hot water runs for 5mins very hot then takes 30 mins to reheat to same temp. Please don't change the settings as this will blow the thermostat.
The cabin is in my garden, with parking and just one minute fom the quay And it’s own private patio.. It is central to the shops and restaurants and bars in lovely Wells. Twenty minutes walk to the beach. I make sure that essentials like tea and coffee are available. The bed is made up and there are lots of towels. Shampoo, shower gel and washing up liquid are also ready to go! The kitchen is well equipped for two guests.
Wells is lovely. The sea when the tide is up. Early mornings, the beach. The super independent shops, the pubs, cafes and delis. The ease of living in a small town with a bank, post office and friendly neighbours!
• Really lovely space in a really lovely spot. Amazing to wake up and be just one minute’s walk from the sea.

North Creake has a friendly local pub within a short walk of the cottage. Creake Abbey, renowned for its restaurant, farmers' market and craft fairs, is under half a mile away. There is a huge network of excellent footpaths on the doorstep for dog-walkers. There are some great pubs and eateries nearby, including the Duck in Stanhoe and the Black Lion in Walsingham. The cottage is 2 miles from Burnham Market and within 5 miles of Burnham Overy Staithe, Holkham, Wells and Brancaster beaches which, if you do not already know them, are well worth googling as they are amazing.
• Great location in Norfolk, short drive from the likes of Holkham, Wells, Burnham Market. Kate gave us lots of local tips and advice and communication was very good. The cottage itself is very cosy, well kitted out and there’s even a well stocked games cupboard. We also found the beds very comfortable! 10/10

• A great cosy cottage in an excellent location Clean and comfortable Friendly host and well equipped accommodation Recommend for short break or longer stay

Tristan2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
• Kate's cottage is really lovely - so cosy, clean and welcoming (it was great to walk in and find a tea tray set out on the table, complete with chocolate biscuits!) It's very well located with off road parking, but so quiet and has pleasant green views (and quite dark skies for stargazing). There are free range chickens outside the front door and a good sized enclosed rear garden. We enjoyed relaxing with the log burner in the evenings and slept really well under the feather duvets! Another stand out point is how well equipped the cottage is. Plenty of plates, cutlery, cooking utensils etc in the kitchen, extra toilet rolls - small points which really make a break easier. There's also a very well stocked games cupboard, and lots of books and DVDs. We loved our stay and would love to return for longer!

• Kate is an excellent host, really helpful and happy to share local knowledge.

Ditch the car and explore Wells-next-the-Sea, staying in a stunning shepherd's hut. Cosy wood burner, deliciously comfy bed, en suite shower & WC, kitchenette, garden area, parking. Walk into town to see the working fishing boats, chic shops and fantastic restaurants. Or to the Coast Path and magical views over the salt marsh, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's become a treat to host special birthdays, anniversaries and mini-moons. COVID-19: No bookings from 23 March until next update
It has been a real labour of love to source and prepare the shepherd's hut for guests and I hope you enjoy the results. From the plants in the garden to the stylish crockery, everything is designed to create a pretty environment for you to relax in. The rural location gives you a sense of space and the hut has its own drive, parking and garden. Birds and butterflies thrive in the wooded dell, including the resident cuckoo. Sitting at the table inside, you'll see the trees silhouetted against the sunset as you eat an evening meal. In the sunny garden you can spread the day's newspapers out on the picnic bench, topping up coffee from the cafetiere. I also provide deck chairs for basking in the sun. The bed is deliciously comfortable and inviting. The en suite shower and taps have instant hot water. The wood burner is seriously effective and out of season you'll soon find that you're more than toasty. New for winter - heated towel rail in en suite! The hut is also insulated and double-glazed. We have mains water. The electricity is partially supplied by solar panel. I've found ways to provide you with nearly every comfort you'd expect in a normal self-catering property. The only differences are that heating is by the wood burner, cooking facilities are limited and there is currently no wifi or TV. However, the 4G reception is extra good (a by-product of the offshore wind farm) so you can still get online and stream videos. When there are lots of people on the campsite using their showers, the water pressure to the hut may sometimes run low, affecting the consistency of the hot water supply. Bed: Pocket sprung double bed with Cath Kidston duvet cover and hotel-quality towels, sheets and pillows. Storage for your clothes: baskets under the bed, a bespoke ottoman, lots of hooks, hangers. Dining table and chairs, digital radio, Bluetooth sound bar, kitchenette with gas camping stove, full size fridge with ice box. Door leading to en suite shower, washbasin and wc. Liquid soap, shower gel and moisturiser provided. Shelves and storage for your additional toiletries, shaving mirror. Garden: Picnic bench, garden bench, deck chairs to relax with a book and glass of wine, Weber BBQ. Parking: Designated car parking for one car. Heating: Wood burner. Also provided: Enough wood and kindling to get you started with the wood burner, gas for the camping stove and charcoal for the BBQ (more wood, gas canisters and charcoal for sale on-site), chocolate treats, milk, tea, coffee, sugar. We have no mains electricity, so the fridge and lights are powered by solar panel and leisure battery. I provide a 12v charger with various adapters so you can power your mobile etc but there is no TV, WiFi or microwave. I provide a gas-powered cordless curling tong. I used to provide a hair dryer but it was prone to trip the 12v system. Cooking: We have no oven but you can cook simple meals on the gas camping stove. Pans and cooking utensils provided. Keep the window open if you use it inside. You can also cook using the charcoal barbecue in the garden. Instructions and a couple of roasting recipes are in the guest information folder. There are also plenty of great restaurants, fish & chip shops and cafes plus good supermarkets, delis, bakery, butcher and fishmonger in Wells. Tea/coffee: Boil the kettle on the gas camping stove or wood burner. Tea, coffee, sugar provided.
Wells beach was named Sunday Times "Beach of the Year" in 2016 and it's not hard to see why. The wide open skies, the sense of freedom even on a busy summer's day, the sweep of colourful huts against the pine forest. Located one mile from the harbour, you can walk along the beach wall to get there, taking in the view of the channel lined with leisure boats and the salt marshes and sea beyond. You can also take the little narrow gauge train part-way there or there is a car park if you choose to drive. We have fantastic gastro pubs, fish & chip shops and cafes a short walk from the shepherd’s hut (I can make recommendations) and great independent retailers along Staithe Street. Or to find solitude and wildlife you don't have to walk far. Local OS map and walks books available for use by guests. Wells has a rich calendar for art and culture. Live theatre screenings with Screen-next-the-Sea, music and theatre at Holkham Hall and the annual festivals. Norwich attractions are an hour away. Sport: swimming pool at the school, sailing, tennis courts, park run at Holkham Hall, lots of great running and cycling routes on your doorstep. As well as the landscape, it's the lively community feel that makes Wells special - the historic fishing fleet landing the day’s catch on the harbour wall, the sailing club ‘sharpies’ racing out by the lifeboat shed, children ‘gillying’ for crabs, and the popular annual calendar of events, including Wells Carnival, Poetry-next-the-Sea, Wheels-next-the-Sea, the Pirate festival and the magical Christmas Tide.
• Zoe was an excellent host, she was polite and charming and helpful and welcoming , she advised me and my girlfriend local places to eat etc , the hut was excellent but did get cold easily so make sure you have enough firewood and kindle, and be sure to be careful with the battery switch

• Lovely space, simple to use and gives access to a vast wodge of stunning coastline

James2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
• we had the most wonderful weekend at the shepherds hut! it was such a cosy little spot for my partner and I to get engaged!! Zoe left us vegan treats which was so thoughtful, and we had everything we needed for the weekend. Zoe gave us so many recommendations for local places, we felt like locals ourselves with all the knowledge she gave us! thank you!

Grace2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
• Great location, walking distance from the lovely village of Wells Next The Sea. Cosy, quaint and well-equipped cabin with good sized shower and on-demand hot water so long as you remember to switch the power on! Radio, mobile speaker, glasses for wine and champers provided. We stayed in March so needed to use the wood burner for heat but there’s a Weber BBQ for when the weather is warm enough to cook outdoors. All very lovely and Zoe replied to our messages asking about local eateries by return.

Trish2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
• Thanks for making our stay extra special with all of extras the hut has to offer! The log burner was a lovely centre point with enough logs to keep us warm each morn and eve! Wells is such a great location too, with great walks, scenery and places to eat and drink. Thanks again, Chris and Ellen

Christopher2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
• This place is amazing. Zoe is very hospitable and care a lot about her hut. The wood burner makes great atmosphere (and is very warm!), you can find in the hut everything what you need. Close to town, 10 minutes to shop, but still you can feel like in the middle of nowhere and no one disturbs you. Thank you Zoe!

Anna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
• Zoe was the perfect host, great communication and always on hand for any advice and local tips. The hut was lovely, exactly as you see in the pictures, with lots of nice touches and the log burner kept me warm and cosy. Wells town centre is a 10 minute walk away, where there are some lovely coffee shops and pubs - The Globe Inn is a must! There are lots of walking routes within a short distance so perfect for my little getaway...I'll be back!

Lisa2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
• The cabin is even better than it looks- perfectly snug, super clean, with so many thoughtful touches and everything you could need for an easy and enjoyable stay! We could tell that a lot of time and care has been put into making the cabin as lovely as it is, so please do give it a visit. We stayed in January and were perfectly warm (once we'd worked out how to keep a fire going in the wood burner!) :-)

Pretty balcony, own private garden and parking on drive. Sleeps 2 adults + child/baby. Great sea/country views. Enjoy our huge, wonderful starry skies. Quirky home from home
Wonderful long sandy beaches. Huge big Norfolk skies. Fabulous open countryside.
• Dot’s studio is very stylish, cozy and comfortable and has everything you need. It is a short walk from the centre of Wells less than 10 mins.and there is parking just outside the studio....The studio has everything to enable you to cook which we did and Dot kindly left us bacon, eggs, butter, milk, tea and coffee and scones which were yummy and which we felt was a lovely kind gesture. Dot’s place is very warm and the bed and the sofa are very comfortable. The bedroom has views looking out to the sea and it was very quiet just hearing the birds. Dot’s place is very stylish with a rustic country feel. Dot was very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend this studio and would stay again for sure Thank you Dot 😊

Were were grateful for the scones and milk that were ready for us on arrival, and that the heat was on to warm up the living room. Really lovely little house and we would definitely stay again!

Crabpot cottage is 60-seconds from Wells harbour in the heart of the town. It is a snug, 200-years old fisherman's cottage; cosy living space, gardens and parking. Wood burner, central heating, washing machine and WiFi make it ideal for short breaks or weeks away.
Crabpot cottage comprises of a relatively compact kitchen (oven, microwave, induction hob, fridge, breakfast bar table and chairs, washing machine and dish washer) opening onto the garden and a cosy lounge - with woodburner. At the top of the (steep) stairs are two double bedrooms - two single beds and a double - and a bathroom. Bedding and towels are provided. In addition to the woodburner, the cottage is fully central heated. 200-years ago people were shorter so, while there is good ceiling height, the door frames are LOW! It is a traditional self-catering holiday cottage, and the photos give a good impression of what the cottage is like. It works especially well for families or couples who want to enjoy the delights of a Norfolk rural/coastal small town and fishing port.
Wells-Next-The Sea is a bustling seaside town during the summer but becomes a quite haven during the winter months: very popular with walkers and bird watchers. The town offers numerous good places to eat, to drink and to shop! The local area offers a wide variety of scenery and other attractions.
• Crabpot is a fabulous cottage, oozing character and in a perfect spot in the heart of Wells. It's cozy but was perfect for us (a young family of four) and Adrian was an excellent host with great local tips for food and activities. We are already planning our next visit.

• It is an amazing place to visit if you want to get away from everyday life. I turned my phone off for the whole time and enjoyed everything the place had to offer. The property itself has some great places to wander around and take in the beautiful scenery and wildlife. The Shepard hut was particularly wonderful, it's a luscious small space that was perfect for me and my partner. We couldn't recommend a stay somewhere more than this place! You will love it 😁

• Absolutely beautiful. The cabin was very clean and cosy. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a little hideaway trip.

June2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
• This place was AMAZING. Gorgeous little shepherd's hut, tastefully decorated and absolutely spotless. A bigger bed than I expected, sometimes the beds in shepherd's huts are diddy but my long-legged SO had no complaints. There was a wood burner inside the cabin that made the place really cosy when it got started. And the showers/toilets were heated which made the stay so much more comfortable, big thumbs up there. I liked the wood fired hot tub but at the time we went (right over Halloween) it took absolutely ages to heat up – the guide said up to 3 hours but it was closer to 5, and it was actually only really warm by that point, not hot, but we'd run out of patience so just decided to jump in. Stargazing in a hot tub is pretty nice, getting out into the freezing cold was not. Interesting though, we checked the tub the next day just to make sure we hadn't left leaves in and the water was still warm after what, 8-10 hours? So if the hot tub was in regular use I think it'd have been much less hassle to get it going. There was lots of info provided about local amenities, but for nature you don't have to go far as there's a forest right next to the cabin! Only had time to walk in there once but we caught sight of a pretty big hare and the tail-end of a deer, absolutely picturesque. • Absolutely beautiful. If you want to have some time away from the world then this is your place. I have never been somewhere, where I’ve never wanted to leave. We had a beautiful welcome note which is always a great touch! We were provided with so much information in regards to the area and places to see, and places to eat etc. I made two new chicken friends who really made me and my boyfriend feel at home aha! It was nice to have company when washing up!😂 The walks, cabin, scenery and experience was out of this world! Thank you x

• This house is lovely. Nicely decorated and lots of space so guests don't feel on top of each other. For the money we paid we were surprised by the quality. Very nicely decorated with lots of nice touches we liked all the different toilet seats 😊 Thank you for the bottle of wine -that was a nice treat after travelling and getting the kids to bed. Great location to explore all what North Norfolk has to offer.

The local pub, The Crown, offers a wonderful menu, has a pleasant ambience and cheery staff. We personally love Holkham Beach and enjoy long walks along the sands or through the pines. Lena is a great host and very thoughtful leaving a beautiful welcome pack of groceries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lynne & John

Unlike many other English towns which are dominated by multiples, Burnham Market has a traditional post office, butcher, baker, hardware shop, fish shop and chemist for all the necessities of everyday life, but there are also over 30 highly original independent and specialist shops, selling a wide range of exciting deli products, vibrant and stylish accessories for home and garden, smart clothes shops, and books old and new. There are some great places to eat, the best being the renowned Hoste Arms which is a 17th Century old coaching house and is open all day. As a result Burnham Market attracts many celebrities and cosmopolitan visitors, getting very crowded in the holiday periods, earning the nickname “Chelsea-on-Sea.” There is an annual summer music festival with professional musicians entertaining residents and holiday makers in various venues such as the lovely church of Burnham Westgate at the western edge of the village. From the end of November the village is beautifully lit with Christmas lights and it makes the perfect place to visit for Christmas shopping.

• Comfortable, charming, well appointed historic cottage with very modern conveniences. Its location is excellent, with an easy walk to restaurants, shops and pubs on the green. Convenient to the beaches and Holkham Hall, Burnham Thorpe and the seaside town of Wells.

• Great location and beautiful little cottage. Well equipped with everything you could need and the open fireplace in the lounge was just wonderful. I would keep in mind as it's a character property it does have lower doors ways and a steep staircase, not a problem for us though. Also Burnham Market is a great place for foodies and is only 15mins away from a great beach for dogs. Highly recommended.

• Beautifully cosy cottage tucked away in the small village of docking. Me as my partner took our dog and found it the ideal location to explore the north Norfolk cost from with beaches and costal walks only a few miles away. A Lidl supermarket was close by and a spar in the village for any last minute bits. Hosts were extremely hospitable as we were treated to numerous extras upon our arrival which went down a treat! Would defiantly recommend and return.

• Bill and Di have a lovely cottage to let out. Very cosy with some excellent welcome touches upon arrival from them. Docking is a great central point to get to all of the main hotspots of North Norfolk. Will definitely return one day!

• If you're looking for a traditional English home in a rural setting, this is ideal. The house is beautiful and the village has a pub and a cafe, as well as good links to nearby towns. The road noise may bother you, but if you're used to traffic it is fine. Helena is a great host: warm, welcoming and makes you feel at ease.

• We highly recommend Lena’s cottage. It is stylish and cosy. The bed is very comfortable and the whole place is beautifully presented and clean. The log burner is fabulous and Lena left a big basket of logs for us. Lena is a great communicator and there was a lovely welcome tray on arrival. The Crown does a good meal but is a restaurant rather than a pub which is great if that’s what you’re looking for. We had a fabulous stay!

There's a super large field that leads to the deli/cafe where they welcome dogs and have an amazing menu with delicious food. • A lovely stay. 😊 The cabin is much more spacious than we thought, plenty warm enough too, even in a few cold nights as our stay was in March. Sizeable kitchen area was great to make our own meals in. A very comfy bed too, with clean and warm warm shower. Terri was lovely and welcoming, providing a few nice touches with tea, coffee and some milk in the fridge when we arrived. Great location too with Co-op just over the road to grab essential supplies. Ideally located for strolling down into town, but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of centre. We will be back soon 👌

At its centre is a large village green surrounded by striking Queen Anne and Georgian buildings, with 2 churches that lie at each end of its broad main street.Unlike many other English towns which are dominated by multiples, Burnham Market has a traditional post office, butcher, baker, hardware shop, fish shop and chemist for all the necessities of everyday life, but there are also over 30 highly original independent and specialist shops, selling a wide range of exciting deli products, vibrant and stylish accessories for home and garden, smart clothes shops, and books old and new.
