  • We’ve just spent Xmas at The Chapel, and what a beautiful, cosy place to be! Very comfortable beds, unbelievably spacious bathrooms. 5 adults and a Labrador in living area - no problem - still plenty of space!!

  • What a stunning place in a fab location. Right next to a public footpath through fields and what a gorgeous walk down to the River Cover. We even got to see a sheepdog in action! Very impressive views and amenities. From the fluffy robes to the Nespresso machine (and milk frother) we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The food at the Blue Lion pub is exceptional! The portion sizes at the Cover Bridge Inn are huge!! Such a relaxing getaway! Would highly recommended this place to anyone.

  • Great house, super location.

  • Beautiful, stylish conversion with plenty of space and high quality furnishings and linen in lovely village. Very enjoyable stay.

    Sue2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • A very lovely place to stay. A great blend of old and new, stylish and spacious. Very comfortable mattresses, and quality linen, plates and cutlery. We were able to visit the Dales and the Moors from this home (the Moors being a longer day out) and also York, so a great base if you want to visit the wider area. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Alison2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The first thing we told each other after we were warmly welcomed by Georgina was how much more impressive the place looked compared to the already amazing pictures on this site. - Spotless (as in Brand New) - Spacious (the biggest en-suite bedrooms you have ever seen with a walk-in shower and seperate bath we wished we had at home, a large sofa, a wall to wall kitchen, the most fantastic windows you'll ever see...) - ultramodern (a big flatscreen SmartTV, WIFI that runs faster than the speed of light, dimmable and variable lighting) the Old Chapel is located in a very quiet village (Can you call two streets with a big green running in between a village?), next to a public footpath that runs all the way down to the River Cover and the Coverbridge pub or all the way up to Middleham Castle). We did our grocery shopping in Leyburn (about 10 minutes by car) and during our stay of 7 nights we had lots of fun visiting Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Castle, Skipton and York. We can only recommend Georgina's Old Chapel and would love to come back to the Yorkshire Dales and this unique holiday home.

    Tony2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Chapel is ideal for special short breaks and longer holidays whether to relax, seek adventure or celebrate. Ideal for one or two couples with every amenity that you could expect. Luxury, style and architectural design showcase this exclusive accomodation. Perfect location in this quiet village for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. We will be back.

    Paul2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful retreat in a lovely location. Ideal for a relaxing break away from it all, but close enough to amenities (including two good pubs!), walks and places to visit. Georgina is a great host. We plan to come back!

  • Fabulous apartment with all the home comforts. In the centre of the village watching the racehorses pass the window was just lovely. The pubs very welcoming and in general we loved our stay.

    Emma2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little space, clean and comfortable, in an absolutely wonderful location, just off the main square and a minute's walk from the castle. It was so nice watching the horses trotting past in a near constant stream in the morning! Hosts' communication was excellent too - although we didn't get to meet them, they sent incredibly detailed directions, making it very easy to find the place. One small thing though - as other reviewers have pointed out, there is no Wi-Fi in the property, despite it being mentioned in the description, which I guess might be an issue for some guests; that detail really needs to be taken out.

Friendly locals.Good range of shops in Leyburn for supplies although the village store has most of what you would want. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

  • What a beautiful cottage! My husband and I (plus a pooch) have had an amazing weekend here at Harmby. The cottage is so cosy and a great place to get away from all the hustle and bustle. Plenty to do locally from visiting a waterfall to local villages. We Walked to Leyburn (25 minutes) which had lots of pubs, restaurants and shops. Thank you to Tracey for the little welcome hampers and for all the local tips. Would definitely recommend staying at Tannery cottage. Thank you Tracey for letting us stay in your beautiful home xxx

The cottage is well equipped for self catering accommodation and is furnished as a farm cottage, with a light and cosy feel inside. We have spent a lot of time ensuring that there is everything you could want and need in the cottage to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
On the ground floor there is a comfortable living/dining room, with a log burner and TV, a kitchen area fully equipped, and a bathroom and toilet. The double and single bedrooms are located on the first floor, with a traditionally windy cottage staircase.
The village of Newton-Le-Willows is a very friendly and quiet village. There is plenty of local eating places nearby and plenty of dales market towns to enjoy, such as Leyburn, Masham, Middleham, Bedale and Hawes, to name a few.
  • Amazingly comfy bed and great hosts and cottage! Could not have asked for more, also, great cakes!!

    Louise2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Sheena's place. Its a lovely cosy place on a working farm. Our dog loved to roam around the gardens; a bit too much may I add. The bed was very comfortable. Thank you for the warm hospitality and the welcome cake. The cakes themselves need a separate review, absolutely amazing cakes. We had everything we needed for a weekend stay and it would be plenty for a stay for 3 or four nights.

    Niraj2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sheena's place is clean, cozy and comfortable and quiet, I would recommend it, excellent 👍😁

Market view looks over the ancient and attractive market square with its old buildings and areas of interest. It is central for hotels, shops and scenic walks. You’ll love Market view because it is spacious, well equipped and has a lovely atmosphere. There are a combination of small shops, offering art, clothing, and souvenirs. There is a great selection of hotels, pubs and tearooms. There is an excellent range of local food shops. Many scenic walks are on the doorstep. Babies welcome.
It is a large studio apartment on the ground floor. The king size bed is separated from the lounge. There is a separate kitchen and a separate bathroom. The bath has a shower over it.
It is a lovely and friendly place to live. Everything required to relax, be occupied or to eat well is available in this market town. It is very old and the buildings are beautiful.
  • Amazing, perfectly located in the village. The flat is spotlessly clean and has everything you need and more. Cant recommend this place enough

  • Had a great stay at Sue's place, absolutely ideal location for walking, eating and drinking. Lovely to have a pint of milk already in the fridge and welcoming cake etc. Just the the job for a few day's away

    Adrian2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful! Sue thought of everything. Being from Florida, I appreciated the extra blankets everywhere! We stayed here specifically because it was close to Black Sheep brewery, however, we didn’t know it was in the middle of the market square! It was a pleasant surprise! Lots of parking with a honesty box, warm blankets, comfortable bed, what else can you ask for? Thank you Sue! :)

    Cindy2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • A great little find in a really good location. Clean and comfortable, with everything you need. The little touches like milk for a cuppa and biscuits were a really nice touch, thank you

  • Great little one level cottage. Surprisingly spacious. Everything was there that we needed. Superb location

    Linda2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovey spacious accommodation, great location !

    Melanie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved our stay at Sue's place! It was lovely and cosy and we loved the thoughtful touches like the biscuits Sue left for us and the daffodils. It was also really useful to have some local tips regarding the local shops and pubs and walk suggestions! We went to all 4 pubs which were all brilliant and friendly and we had a gorgeous meal at the White Bear. On our first night we had fish and chips from just next door!! It was a shame that the market wasnt on Saturday morning due to the weather but we enjoyed all of the quirky shops in the area. We also visited the Black Sheep Brewery which we found really interesting and we had a delicious lunch there! We only stayed a couple of days but felt very much at home and wished we could have stayed longer! Would definitely recommend!

    Eleanor2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed a second night as Sue's apartment and it's location were what we needed to explore the area.

A cosy bed and breakfast situated in the wing of an attractive, old stone house, In the village of East Witton, in Wensleydale, the start of the Dales. One open plan bedroom with sitting area and amenities to make coffee, tea, toast, chill your favourite wine. Ensuite bathroom. Home cooked breakfasts, dinners if required. Lovely village green which you can wonder around and then stroll to the award winning Blue Lion Pub, serving great local food.
Although you are attached to our house, you have your own front door, and a large bedroom, with a seating area, and eating area also. Quiet, beautiful walks at your finger tips and then either relax and have your meals cooked for you in the peace of your own room. Or take a stroll down to the bottom of the village where you will find The Blue Lion pub.
I walk down to the river most days, it is a beautiful walk, when you walk back you look up at the Fell, it takes my breath away most days, I never tire of looking up at such beauty. Our village is tranquil as our the people. I feel very lucky to live in such a beautiful place. The Blue Lion pub is a 2 minute walk from our front door. There are many other good pubs in and around the area.
  • The Grange had been double booked, and Georgina very generously allowed us to stay in the Old Chapel next door. It was beautiful, spacious, luxurious, and a footstep from lovely pubs and great walking / running routes. I would have loved to make a longer stay of it.

    Jenny2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice host. Huge room in a beautiful village. There are natural alarm to wake you up (the rooster =)) and nice breakfast too. The food in The blue Lion pub and restaurant nearby is just amazing!

    HoYin2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Georgina is a wonderful host and the accommodation is fabulous; the interior feels much larger and spacious than the pictures portray, the room enhanced by a high beamed ceiling. Breakfast was perfect and Georgina was flexible about timings, the room also has a coffee maker, toaster and a fridge which was really handy. There are great riverside walks directly from the property, and other popular attractions such as Aysgarth Falls are just a 15 - 20 minute drive away; we had our big bouncy Labrador dog with us, who also had a great time, especially swimming in the local river. Local eating places - excellent food at the Blue Lion Inn just a two minute walk away; although quite expensive, it serves quality food with a professional service. About a kilometre down the road (which can be accessed by a footpath) is the Cover Bridge Inn, an award winning CAMRA pub with fantastic ales; we didn't eat here but the menu looked okay and reasonable priced. Highly recommend this accommodation; Georgina is superb friendly host, she respects the guests privacy but is there if needed, and was also flexible about checking in/out times.

  • We had a great weekend in the cottage. It’s lovely and a great pub just next door - we particularly liked the huge comfy towels!

  • Dairy cottage is well situated and spotlessly clean. The host Victoria is beyond helpful and we thoroughly recommend staying here. Thanks again Victoria.

  • This cottage is really lovely. Very well decorated, spotlessly clean, everything you need is in the kitchen and the beds are really comfy! The radiators heat the whole house very quickly as we stayed in October and it was starting to get chilly at night. The location is also excellent - in the centre of Masham and a short walk from several excellent pubs and the co-op supermarket. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and nice walks. Would thoroughly recommend - a premium cottage in a fantastic location. Thank you for a lovely stay! P.S. The National Trust property Studley Royal Water Gardens isn't far away and is well worth a visit.

  • Great place, very well equiped with a truly central location in Masham. Nothing could be better.

  • Brilliant place right in the heart of a town that is perfectly placed to explore the local area. Immaculately clean all over the house and very well decorated and laden with great amenities. Lots of great local deli’s, bakers, butchers etc a minutes walk away. Rooms were spacious and well appointed and the en suite was very handy. We managed to squeeze our travel cot into the single bedroom so our 7 month old even had her own room. Shared by 4 adults and a baby the house didn’t feel crowded at all. Fantastic find that we will absolutely come back to.

  • We stayed here for my Dad's 60th birthday. There was 5 adults plus a baby. The double and twin rooms were perfect size to accommodate a travel cot/ Moses basket (plus all the other stuff that comes with travelling with a baby!) Like a home away from home. We loved it.

  • I booked Andrews place as a surprise getaway for my parents and they loved it! Couldn’t say enough nice things about the place and the surrounding area, so much so they’re looking to move to somewhere around Leyburn! They said the cottage had everything they needed for self catering with plenty of pubs and restaurants near by. They enjoyed some beautiful walks and loved being in such a beautiful part of the country! Andrew messaged me with some places for them to visit and things to do which all came in very handy! The whole booking experience was seamless. Would definitely book through Andrew again!

  • Katie’s place was fabulous! I’m the decor was spot on and it felt cosy yet stylish. The kitchen had everything we needed and the location was great - a 10 minute walk from a pub and a short drive to discover the Dales from. Katie was also super helpful with navigating the challenging road conditions with the recent storms.

  • Such a cute cottage in a beautiful location. It's super clean, warm, so quiet and the log burning stove is wonderful. Would recommend the Black Sheep Brewery tour and food in the bistro afterwards. We also went on a walk recommended by the host around Masham which took around 3 hours and was very scenic (and muddy!). Katie's was very responsive to my messages but also respected our privacy. Would recommend this Airbnb.

Brewer's Den is a truly delightful apartment found in College Lane in Masham, North Yorkshire. A two storey stone building which has been converted into apartments with the ground floor apartment known as Brewers Den, so called because it was here that the Theakston's Brewery first stored their casks of ale in the vaulted cellars beneath.
Entry to the apartment is to a hallway with natural slate floor, with underfloor heating. Immediately off to the right is a bedroom with a double bed. On the far right of the hallway is an open plan room with a traditional pine boarded floor reaching throughout the well fitted kitchen, dining area and lounge. At the end of the hallway is a fully tiled bathroom with a bath and associated sprinkler shower, washbasin and toilet. The apartment is modern in its decor and tastefully furnished with a mix of modern and traditional. The lounge and kitchen areas are themed with brewing and distilling memorabilia including a barrel table. Duvets, pillows, linen and towels all provided. Electric central heating and electricity included. Television, FreeView, DVD/CD, radio, hob, oven, microwave oven, fridge, hairdryer and iron. Free wifi. Free nearby street parking or on the main square. Shops, pubs, bus route, restaurant, within 5/10 minute walk. Dogs welcome. Strictly non smoking.
In the last reaches of the Pennines the river Ure twists and turns with the undulating landscape. The river is now so full and wide that bridging is difficult and sites of crossings are route centres, around which important local settlements were founded. One such settlement is the small market town of Masham, a 'Gateway to The Dales'. An ancient market town since 1393 with one of the largest market places in the north of England, now faced by stylish Georgian buildings which surround the central market cross. While some of the buildings are homes others house local businesses including art galleries, sweet shops, delicatessen, butchers, wine shop, walking shop, pubs serving lunch and evening meals, restaurant serving evening meals and cafes serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. The once famed annual sheep sales, where over 80,000 head would be sold in just three days still continues to this day during September, albeit on a much smaller scale, as does one of the North's largest steam rallies in July. Now most famous for the Theakston's and Black Sheep breweries, both owned by the Theakston family who first started brewing in 1827 and warmly welcome visitors to watch them ply their crafts and sample the rewards of their labour. Masham is now home to the Spirit of Masham distillery where you can take a tour and distil your own gin. The town is embraced by the river and surrounding slopes and sits picturesquely with the tall spire of Saint Mary's church visible from miles around. Pretty riverside walks with parkland and playing fields on the doorstep, and Hackfall Woods and Marfield Wetlands Nature Reserve both within reach. Masham was proud to welcome Le Grand Depart in 2014 and since then has welcomed the Tour de Yorkshire on numerous occasions, why not try the routes for yourself, bring your bikes or hire one locally and have it delivered to your holiday property. The nearby stately grounds of Swinton Castle with its delicious restaurant and Spa, the fun-park at Lightwater Valley, Fountains Abbey World Heritage site with fabulous Visitors Centre and Saturday morning parkrun and the not so distant attractions of Ripon, Harrogate and York offer enjoyment and excitement for all.
  • The Brewers Den is a super place to stay, it is warm and cosy with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Very thoughtful touches when we arrived and very clean. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area and wanting somewhere to stay.

A newly renovated property (completed April 2019) with two bedrooms - one double bed and two singles. New kitchen, bathroom and new comfy beds... Large garden. Close to Masham (10-15 mins walk across fields) in a quiet location next to Marfield Wetlands (nature reserve). Next to Old Fever Hospital, also available through AirBnb. Fast WIFI. Hot tub available at extra cost.
Newly renovated, two bedroom property, one double bed and two singles. It's a 15 minute walk (across fields) to Masham itself, and Marfield Wetlands is literally on the doorstep. It's a unique space - massive garden, cosy but spacious cottage (perfect for four guests, blow up mattress can be added for five), dining and living area (open plan), open fire and wood burning stove. You can have the best of both worlds - countryside, fresh air, nature and all that Masham has to offer, plus all you need for a comfortable stay.
Masham itself is a lovely town with independent shops, pubs, cafes, and is also famously home to both Theakston's and Black Sheep breweries. The Cottage has Marfield Wetlands literally on the doorstep - depending on the season, on a good day you can see tufted duck, crested grebe, herons, kingfisher, egret, or even deer. On a 'normal' day there are swans and greylag geese. Ducks and pheasants can often be seen in the garden and a woodpecker is a regular visitor to the bird feeders in the garden. Within easy reach of Harrogate (45 mins), York (1 hour), Leeds (1 hour).
  • Angela was a thoughtful host, with great communication and made sure we were very well catered for and looked after. The cottage was in a lovely spot, nicely decorated, clean and very comfortable throughout. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfortable. Our dog in particular loved the garden and the many walks nearby. It was joy to look at the birds which came to visit the garden. We had a relaxing trip, even though it rained a lot and was very windy.

Sean was a great host...welcoming, helpful and came to our rescue when we managed to lock ourselves out within five minutes of arriving! Breakfast was 5* and the BBQ hut was brilliant. Would thoroughly recommend the Deer Lodge for a romantic, relaxed break

  • Fantastic get away Lodge. High quality finish with excellent amenities and breakfast! Would absolutely recommend to anyone

  • If you like what you see advertised in the pictures, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find a lodge even bigger and more beautiful. The hospitality from the host is outstanding, and the opportunity for great walks and exploring nearby towns is there for the taking. We will absolutely be back to experience the Deer Lodge again!

Located in the popular Dales village of Harmby, just one mile from Leyburn is 2, Rose Cottages. This charming country cottage is oozing with character, and would make the ideal base for a holiday in the Yorkshire Dales at any time of year. You are greeted by a welcoming rustic pine kitchen creating a homely friendly feel, retaining many interesting original features such as an alcove which was formerly a bread oven. The dining table and butler’s bench finish off the look and offer a true ‘country cottage’ feel. There is brand new double oven cooker with ceramic top and new fridge/freezer. The charm of this cottage does not end in the kitchen. The lounge boasts an original ‘Range’ cleverly incorporating a wood burning stove to keep you cosy on those cooler winter evenings after an invigorating walk on the fells, before retiring to the four poster bed in the master bedroom.
Check out Blue Lion, the Wensleydale Heather, and the Sandpiper for great food. The Pheasant one minute walk at the top of the hill is a friendly local pub (and often has a pub quiz!)
  • My partner and I had a wonderful stay in Harmby, Tim left detailed information regarding local walks and stays. The town of Leyburn is a 3 minute drive away and has some great spots to walk. All in all had a lovely stay and spent every night by the log burner in this cosy home!

    Anthony2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Tim's cottage is delightfully quaint and traditional. This is the second time we have stayed here and just love the welcoming relaxed feeling we get from the cottage. A superbly well equipped kitchen, lovely log burner and comfy sofa make it a perfect quirky little retreat. Leyburn is great for a bit of shopping, cafes and pubs. We also take the bus to Hawes for a change of scene and to visit the cheese factory. This visit we walked the 'Shawl' walk which was lovely and just far enough before a few beers in the locals.

    Sharon2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fabulous stay at Tim’s place during our Christmas get away. The cottage had everything we needed. Check in & out was very easy and Tim’s directions were extremely helpful and easy to follow. We popped into The Pheasant which is literally a minute walk, John & Kath were amazing and made us feel very welcome. The next village is only 15 minutes away and is a very easy walk and has some great pubs, in particular The Boston Arms. We will definitely be returning to the cottage.

  • Had a great time in this lovely cosy cottage. Great location for days out - we did loads of walking (in spite of the weather!) and only a mile into Leyburn. We stayed in November and it was super warm and cosy - with or without the log burner!

  • A lovely, clean and cosy place, close to local attractions and amenities. Would recommend.

    Charlotte2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Tim had a great time felt like we could have moved in quite easily !!! Unbelievable views from upstairs windows even with added castle !! Lovely village, surroundings and people. Had a lovely sunny walk up the Shawl on Monday after the rain on Sunday, didn't want to leave..finally at 4pm. Thank you so much Tim we'll spread the word with family and friends.

    Sue2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tim's cottage is fab, we found it was the right size for the 2 of us and it's in a great location. The folder that Tim put together was really helpful and included suggestions on local walks and pubs. The log burner was great and we cooked most of our meals and found the kitchen was well equipped.

  • Probably the best cottage we’ve ever stayed in (and there have been a lot). Absolutely immaculate everywhere, from someone with high standards!! Perfect for a small family - the outdoor area is fully enclosed so was an ideal little space for our 3 year old. The cottage is cosy without being cramped, comfortable beds and sofas, lots of thoughtful touches (books, games, DVDs, visitor leaflets, recommendations, supplies for dishwasher, washing machine, etc) and full instructions for everything that just makes life a little easier! Location great with shop, several pubs and chippy on the doorstep with plenty to do in various directions a short drive away. We would definitely recommend Vale cottage and are already considering staying again.

  • This is a well appointed cosy cottage. Plenty of space and a lovely log burning stove. Set in a beautiful village the cottage has lovely views at the front and a good outside space at the back (although it was a bit cold for sitting out in December). A great base for walking in the gorgeous surrounding countryside. The cottage is really clean and has plenty crockery , glassware and cutlery as well as a dishwasher which is very handy. Hosts were very helpful and quick to respond to queries, sharing some useful local tips too. We would recommend this accommodation..

Situated in open countryside one and a half miles from the market town of Masham home to the breweries of Black Sheep and Theakstons . The spacious accommodation comprises of lounge, kitchen/dining room, king sized bedroom and twin bedroom and bathroom with power shower. The Mews is 4 star gold
we also have a shepherds hut come sauna in the orchard available for your use

  • Thanks for a lovely stay, we found the Mews was spacious, comfortable, homely and extremely well equipped. We especially enjoyed the cake the hosts left for us, the table tennis and my little niece enjoyed running about outside and finding pine cones.

    Rob2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Mews was so peaceful and quiet, perfect for a little getaway and only an hour from York. Jan was great and left us a lovely cake. The house is well equipped, big, with a great kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The garden is gorgeous as well.

    Chloe2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in an idyllic location with walks right from the doorstep, but within walking distance to Masham with its pubs and amenities. (Call into the community office and pick up maps for several walks in the area). The apartment is spacious and immaculately clean and the hosts go that extra mile to make you feel welcome. They left us a home baked cake, Prosecco and milk in the fridge (as well as tea, coffee, sugar etc). But what really tops this place off, is the shepherds hut sauna in the grounds. It was just what we needed after a long day walking. We can’t thank Janet & Robert enough for their hospitality.

Demonicus is a traditional Grade 2 listed Yorkshire Dales cottage, ideally situated overlooking the interesting Market Square of the pretty village of Middleham, famous for its racing stables and Richard 111's magnificent castle. The cottage has been beautifully renovated and restored to offer supreme comfort and all modern facilities whilst keeping its original character. It's the perfect base for walkers and cyclists, and for those just wanting to relax and explore this beautiful area.
Demonicus is my much loved Grade 2 listed cottage retreat. The whole cottage has been completely and tastefully redecorated. The kitchen is well equipped with oak table, 4 chairs, oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, tea and coffee, tea towels, eco washing up liquid and dishwasher tabs. I have made a 'PromiseOnSustainability' so where possible all products are environmentally friendly. On the ground floor is the lounge with sash window overlooking the market square. It has 2 new 2 seater leather sofas, TV, a good range of videos and dvds, a radio, and electric fire. The kitchen/diner leads off this onto the south facing patio to the rear. From the lounge the staircase leads to the first floor king bedroom and family bathroom with bath and separate shower. On the second floor is the spacious twin bedroom with beautiful open beamed ceiling. Both bedrooms have lovely views over the market square and beyond. I am immensely proud of the newly decorated cottage and I hope you love it as much as my family do. Guest access To the rear of the cottage, the stable door in the south facing kitchen opens onto a secluded and peaceful shared courtyard(with the cottages on either side) that has a table and 2 chairs, ideal for sitting and relaxing. There is a shared undercover storage shed and private lockable shed in the courtyard where you can lock your bicycles. Other things to note The cottage is on three floors. Stairs with staggered landings lead off from the living room to the bathroom and main bedroom, then a flight of slightly narrower and steeper stairs lead up from that floor to the second twin bedroom with 2 velux skylights complete with blinds.
The quaint Wensleydale town of Middleham is renowned for its history and race horses many of them making their way past Demonicus to the gallops every morning. The Norman castle dominates the town, dating from 1190, it has a castle keep second in size only to the Tower of London. The pretty market square, on which Demonicus stands, is partially cobbled and offers a small range of shops, pubs and places to eat. The bustling market town of Leyburn is just a short drive away offering a variety of great shops and pubs, or why not take some time to explore The Forbidden Corner, a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and surprises set amidst 4 acres of grounds, providing a fun day out for all the family. All in all a superb base for exploring Wensleydale and all within easy driving distance of York, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales and Heritage Coast.
  • We found the cottage to be very thoughtfully and stylishly set-out. The house was completely clean on arrival and all instructions were very clear.

Hackfall Woods and the Druids Temple are just two of the nearby Victorian sites of follies; structures built for no purpose other than to build them, partly as status symbols and partly to provide employment during times of economic hardship. The area around the town is known locally as Mashamshire and is land of curious follies and historic buildings and structures just waiting to be explored… Famous For… Beer! – put simply. Two great breweries operate in this small market town and both offer tours and gifts, while the many pubs just a stone’s throw from the breweries will provide the perfect opportunity to sample the range of delicious ales lovingly crafted in the town, and you’ll find no better steak and ale pie than one made with either Riggwelter, or Old Peculiar. • Expect to be amazed by the this accommodation. It's truly a fantastic place. The best Airbnb accommodation we've ever had. As if the Old Library isn't enough to make your stay unforgettable, you have Theakstons on your doorstep! I thought I'd arrived in Valhalla.

  • Apartment was lovely - huge as you can tell from the photos! I would say it looks even nicer in real life than it does in the photos. Well located in the small town of Masham. We ate at the White Bear and the food was amazing! We had awful weather (stormy winds, lots of rain, floods and snow!) but we still had a lovely time. It was nice to know after a long, cold walk we were coming back to the Old Library. Masham is lovely but I would say if you aren't a confident driver (especially on country roads) then it wouldn't be the best location for you. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay at the Old Library - I would definitely recommend!

    Jodie2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Everything and more. The Old Library is such a beautiful place to stay. It’s our second visit and certainly not our last.

    Nick2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Library in Masham is awesome! High ceilings, great bath tub, fully equipped kitchen, surround sound TV. Had a fun few days in Masham. It rained heavily, but this was a great excuse to just chill, watch movies and do some home cooking. There are a few great pubs that served food all day, literally a two minute walk away. You’ll find all this information and more in the booklet William has provided at the property. Some great walks around the area, weather permitting. Would definitely recommend.

    Hannah2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for walks and experiencing Yorkshire. Harrogate is only 40mins drive away, and a really lovely scenic drive- however you wouldn't need to leave the village. Beautiful walks, great eating options and a wonderful base to experience it all. The flat is huge. Wonderful seating, dining and kitchen area with massive windows allowing the morning light in. Both bedrooms and bathrooms were a nice size, and the bath was very well received after a long walk. Check-in was faultless and communication prior was efficient. Would highly recommend.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Janice's place. The cottage is very well appointed with a huge kitchen, lovely lounge area and a conservatory overlooking the private garden. Janice was a fantastic host and very welcoming with lots of information about the local area provided. The location was perfect for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and we hope to return again in the future.

The Old Bank in Masham must be the most luxurious holiday let in Masham, offering 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms it sits looking down Park Square with literally every amenity on its doorstep! This Grade 2 listed building stood empty for over 10 years before been painstakingly converted by Langton Holdings Ltd of Leeds. The 5 month seven figure refurbishment even included the removal of the Old Vault from the bank! The kitchen is handmade and the bathrooms are stunning this is a must see property!
  • Williams place has a fantastic location in central Masham, with local butchers, bakers and greengrocers on your doorstep. The accommodation was spotlessly clean on our arrival. We were a party of 5 adults and 1 dog. The open plan Kitchen, dining and living space was perfect for our requirements and exceptionally spacious. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms all spacious and well fitted out. Good walks out of Masham straight from the door so we could park up for the 4 days we were there without having to move the cars ( free parking around the village as well as outside the house) Plenty of options to eat & drink and all dog friendly pubs. Communication was great and responses fast with William & Sheriden. We would highly recommend Williams place and will certainly look to visit again Andy

  • Stunning place, so stylish and dog friendly too. Beds comfy, everything immaculately clean, would definitely return and recommend. It's right next door to a really popular butchers, so if you're staying just before Christmas, bear in mind it will be very busy outside your door :)

Kitchen fully equipped and large living room for cosy nights in. Heating all controlled on one dial. Great value for money, we will definitely be back. Thanks Jennie and Justin.

  • I booked this apartment for a 30th birthday weekend with friends and could not fault it! The place was much bigger than we realised it would be and the whole space was spotless, with good amenities and a fantastic location right in the middle of Masham. The apartment had everything we needed for cooking meals and breakfasts but there is also a brilliant choice of pubs, restaurants and cafes to visit instead right on the doorstep. The whole group loved staying here and we hope to stay again some time in the future!

Beautiful cottage complete with enclosed garden which leads down to a brook. This cute cottage has beamed ceilings and a wood burning stove in the open plan living area. This makes a romantic setting ideal for couples or honeymooners. The sunny back garden is ideal for enjoying meals al fresco after a busy day exploring all that this stunning area has to offer. The popular market town of Leyburn with its Friday market, Dales pubs, quirky shops and tea rooms is less than two miles away.
We are dog friendly. There is a south facing enclosed garden, with seating. The local pub has been recently renovated and serves local beer from the area as well as good food. Perfect location for walking and biking. Dales bike centre is nearby in Reeth which hires mountain bikes and electric bikes. We do have a secure shed in the garden should you wish to bring your own bike.
Local pub servicing food, 1 minute away. Perfect for walking and biking. Garden shed for bikes to be secured in. Parking is on the village green

  • We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Rita’s house is in a great location - only a short stroll to the centre of Masham. This traditional property felt lovely and cosy and included all of the amenities you could possibly need during your stay. Our apartment opened up onto an enclosed courtyard/garden which was perfect for our dog too! Thank you for letting us stay, we can’t wait to return. Sara & Donald x

  • My wife and I stayed with our two dogs for a weekend break in this lovely apartment. It’s a great place to stay, with a well equipped kitchen good sized bedroom with a lovely comfortable bed. The bathroom has an excellent shower and the living room area is great with a sofa and armchairs and a freesat TV plus a really good wi-fi connection for the internet. A good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants are close-by in Masham and the cottage is ideally situated to connect with the countryside and footpaths to explore the local area (a walk to the Black Swan at Fearby is well recommended). A great place and we would definitely stay again if visiting the area. Thank you Mrs Rita.

    Paul2018-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very impressive old mansion in excellent location, walking distance to supermarket and village. The room was charming, a little bit tight for 4 people if you’re staying for a while as the 2 extra beds are folding in the living room, but fine for a long weekend. All in all great place to stay and will definitely come again!

  • Denise`s apartment was brilliant for our short stay in Wensleydale. Only a five minute walk into the centre of Leyburn, which has some decent pubs, shops, and a couple of really good Restaurants. Our room had a comfortable 4 poster bed, with plenty of hanging storage for our clothes. A good shower, with shampoos and shower gels, and good quality towels. Breakfast was available in the house kitchen , with cereals , and Bacon and eggs provided for you to make your own breakfast. Denise and Alex were great hosts , easily contactable, and helpful about the local area. Thanks again, and hopefully we`ll be back in the future. Craig & Pam

  • Denise's place was a super spot for us to relax and unwind following our flight and drive, being a unique stylish space with heaps of room. Having the ability to operate our Netflix account through Chromecast on the TV was an unexpected bonus, as was access to a wide variety of breakfast choices. Off-street parking was available but congested at times. All in all a lovely stay and highly recommended.
