A beautiful cottage in the mountains. It’s really clean and everything you need is there. You even have the possibility to have a warm shower after a hike in the area. There a good beds and a cozy living room where you can sit by a fire.

This is a wonderfully cozy cottage in really nice surroundings. Sleeping places are good. Everything to use in the kitchen. Fine bathing facilities. There is a small cozy creek right next to the hut. You can expect a well-equipped authentic Norwegian cottage with great location and views close to woods and water and mountains. And although it is primitive, there are good solutions for the most part: cooking, dishwashing, toilet, water, heating, bath etc.

Arne‘s cabin is just like you would imagine a perfect cabin: Everything you need is provided, beautiful nature just outside the door and inside it’s really cosy, especially when the oven is on... also the host was very kind and sympathetic :-) Thanks Arne ! We can recommend 100%

For us, this cabin was a highlight of our trip to Norway. We love the seclusion and without comfort on us alllein be. The hut is located on a lake and can be easily reached in 5 minutes through a small piece of woodland, if you have waterproof shoes (preferably rubber boots). Unfortunately, the boat was at the time of arrival in repair. Nonetheless, we had a unique time which we spontaneously extended by one day. We felt very sheltered and could find the peace and quiet we were looking for. Especially the different types of mushrooms and the wet vegetation we have never seen in this form. A special recommendation for every nature lover!

We had an amazing stay at martin's cabin, beautiful old bulding at a beautiful lake up in the mountains. The way to the cabin is a bit wet, good shoes are needed, but this is forgotten when you arrive! One of the highlights in our trip to Norway! If you're not afraid of nature you will love it!

A unique experience of norwegian hytte-liv at a very lonly lake, with no electricity in the cabine, but with everything you need to spend beautiful days with hiking/fishing/swimming/reading/doing nothing/... and Arne Martin is a great host, that helped whenever needed! Thank you!

We stayed in Arne’s little cabin with our little daughter (almost 3 years) and we liked it a lot. Much more comfort than our tent, but the same quiet, remote, beautiful nature as when you would have been hiking the whole day in the wilderness. We have been swimming in the rain, hiking and picking blueberries, crowberries and delicious cloudberries. The peaceful cabin has a lot of (family) history which creates a nice atmosphere. Don’t forget to take your mosquito net and hiking boots. It’s a good idea to store your food in a closed box or hang it on the wall, unless you want to share it with the little mouses.;-) Life should be like this cabin: simple and beautiful. If you are looking for an amazing location at a lake and experience with only basic equipment, this will suite you perfect. We had a warm welcome by our host Arne, who helped us making fire when we arrived late. We recommend this place!

We stayed at Bjørn’s place for a XC skiing trip to Gålå. The cabin is located beautifully and getting to the ski tracks was really easy (you just have to prepare for some uphill skiing). When we arrived everything was prepared for a relaxed stay. Bjørn showed us around. We liked the simple style with a lot of smart solutions to make things easy-to-use. In the evenings we enjoyed the warmth of the oven and candle light. All in all this is an Airbnb that we would definitely visit again!

This cabin is great for the outdoor environmentalists. Solar and propane gas powered including the toilet. Be prepared for an enjoyable view and camping experience.

We stayed there over a week and it was fantastic. The area is perfect for outdoor activities in the snow. ( cross country skiing, snowshoeing, alpine and tour skiing.) The hut is so cosy. It’s quiet, clean and full of smart solutions to make it comfortable. Bjørn was very nice and more than helpful. Thanks for the great norwegian experience !

The cabin is simple, but well equipped. It was very cozy and we loved it! The landscape around the cabin is wonderful. There are many possibilities to hike or bike. It is useful to come by car but it is also possible without it, like we did. Inger Johanne is a very friendly and helpful host! She did a lot for us, more than she had to!

Staying at this cabin is like an escape from the real world. First, the surroundings: in the middle of nowhere! It’s quite hard to reach without car, but we managed! Inger Johanne is an incredible host and even offered to pick us up and bring to Vinstra! But I think we’ll probably be the only ones to have come there without a vehicle...:) There are lovely hikes around the area, some shorter and some longer ones! And the view on the lake & mountain is amazing! First thing I did every morning was going outside and looking at the landscape around. Sometimes, there was snow on the mountains (early September), sometimes mist over the lake. The cabin itself is very rustic and simple, but if that’s what you are looking for (as we did), it may be the perfect space for you! There’s two fireplaces to heat the cabin and water, a “fridge” beneath the floor, and simple cooking amenities. The only thing lacking for us was a working plug socket. Once the cabin’s warm, it’s so cozy inside! Inger Johanne seriously is the best host ever! She very kindly greeted us at the cabin, showed us around, and gave us tips for exploring the local area. She and her husband have a cabin right above this one for weekend-stays (etc) and so it’s lovely when she comes around asking if everything alright. I wish we hadn’t missed her that often! Every evening we enjoyed here homemade jam and syrup! So very kind! We definitely want to come back and bring some friends next time! Thank you, Inger Johanne & Anders, for this lovely week.

A true Nordic experience! A spacious but cosy cabin with an open log fire and amazing views over a stunning lake! Easy to find and our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming, helpful, and hospitable - loved it!

The cabin is amazing! It is located in a very pretty area, with several possibilities for skiing in the winter (just by the cabin or 15min by car): good tracks for cross country skiing, mountains for fjellski or randone. Hvitfjell and Hafjell are also 01h00 a 01h30 drive from the cabin. The cabin is very comfortable and well equipped. There was no problem in accommodating 8 people. Odd was very welcoming and always helped when we needed.

Ådne's and Odd's cabin is beautifully located. All descriptions and amenities were on spot. We had a great Christmas and New Years with 2 families there and would definitely return some day. A special thanks to both, who were quick to respond, organized an outdoor event for us and even brought us new fire wood and cookies and cake:)

Thanks for the wonderful hytte! Very nice sunny terrace, beautiful cottage, warm welcome! Bedrooms are cozy, and the hytte is well equipped. We had a great week skiing in the area. While the tracks in front of the hytte were a bit steep for kids, there are two very nice starts at 10-15min by car for cross country. I warmly recommend as a family-friendly location.

Ådne's hytte is cosy, well equipped and is located in a nice environment. We have been cross country skiing in the surroundings and down-hill skiing to Gålå (~35/40min) and Hafjell (~1h20). Ådne and his father have been helpful, thanks to both of you !

Large and nice cabin, with plenty of space, good combination of amenities and cottage atmosphere. There are good skiing opportunities in the area during winter.

Very cozy and lovely cabin, perfect for two! Simple kitchen, comfy bed and sofas. Fantastic to relax :) There is no running water in the cabin and the bath (at least in winter) is a few meters away. It didn’t bother us, though. Harald and Lise are great hosts, very welcoming, super friendly and helpful! I would definitely recommend this lovely place!

We had an amazing time at this lovely cosy wooden lodge. It is on the owners estate who were just great and friendly. Fire was lit waiting for us and bed linen provided - lots of spices to cook with too! Shower and toilet short walk from lodge which is like a luxury camping experience. Not too far from Oslo too. Excellent value for money, would stay here again. 5+ stars!

House is in very beautiful place, from the terrace you can see mountains and lake. I recommande this place :)

We rented this cabin in the New Year weekend this year again - we were just as happy this time as last. See, therefore, the previous mention from me (January 2018).

We felt very comfortable in this cabin. It is well equipped, our grandson had a play floor, the terrace offers a magnificent view of nature, waterfalls rushing and birds and squirrels are visiting daily.

We rented the cabin over New Year's Eve, and it was a perfect place for two adults and two children who wanted skiing, snow and cottage cheese! We were greeted by lit torches, candles, fire in the fireplace and new-fashioned patio when we arrived. The cabin was "cottage-cool" with both indoor and outdoor toilet, power, kitchen with all the fixtures we needed, and games and comics for the kids. Own loft like the kids thought it was exciting to be on. Nice and clean. A short drive away we found great ski runs that we spent two days in! Pleasant to be on a holiday in an area that is not crowded with tourists! Arild responded quickly to our inquiries in advance and along the way, and he also contacted us to hear if everything was alright while we were there. We will be happy to return!

We love this place! It has everything a family, or a group of friends would need and more to enjoy this beautiful location. This 17th century house has all the modern amenities combined with historical beauty. The owner has done an excellent job at remodeling this home and brining in to the 21st century. This is the second time we rented this beautiful house. The first time being Christmas 2019, when we invited our family to stay with us and celebrate the holidays. We had a wonderful time and Ole Gunnar went out of his way to make our stay even more special. When we arrived we were invited to take part in the Nordli family’s traditional festivities held on their farm. Together with the local children and their families we enjoyed sleigh riding and meeting Santa. Ole Gunnar had meticulously decorated the house upon on our arrival, including a beautiful Christmas tree that welcomed us as we entered the home. He also went out of his way on Christmas Eve to find the perfect Santa that brought our children their gifts. It impressed even the oldest family member as well as the youngest. I highly recommend this rental for your next trip to Vinstra. The beds are comfortable, the home is beautiful and clean. The short distance to Gålå ski resort makes this a perfect destination for families with children looking to enjoy some great skiing. It is only 10 mins away. Until next time!

This place is an absolute gem! We have stayed here for over a week over new Years. When we arrived the place was beautifully decorated with a christmas tree and lots of lovely details and the house itself exceeded our imagination. The communication on site was very personal and friendly. Definitely recommendable!!

It was a great stay in the house on Ole's courtyard! The house was both heated and well lit upon arrival!

The cabin is centrally located and yet very quiet. We heard no traffic noises. It was wonderfully quiet. Due to its central location, ski areas and cross-country tracks can be reached quickly and easily, just like shops. The welcome was wonderful; a clean cabin, made beds, wood by the stove, large shower sheets and a welcome surprise. The cabin is well equipped with everything you need in the basics. The communication with Ole is excellent. He always responded quickly to questions. He provided extra wood for the stove and gravel was also scattered in the yard at our request, so that the cabin was safely accessible. We enjoyed the snow for a week in Gala and Fefor, about a 25-minute drive away. You can ski as well as back country skiing there. There are beautiful routes there. The routes to Vals Fjellet and also Skerell camps are recommended. Kvitfjell is a larger ski area and we have also skied Alpine for a day there. This area can be reached from the cabin in about 45 minutes. It is advisable to drive to Kvitfjell-Vest, then you are on the sunny side of the slopes all day. Ski rental and ticket sales are available there, as well as cross-country trails and a restaurant. Kvamsfjellet can also be reached in 30 minutes. Beautiful trips can be made there. We have skied to the poor summit. Fantastic view of the peaks of Rondane. In short, a week is too short, the area offers many possibilities.

Ole's place was really great! A cozy mountain lodge that has everything you need. Kitchen was well equipped, bathroom simple but clean and a great bed. Definitely recommended when you're around in the neighbourhood.

Fantastic stay in a private cabin

Homely and atmospheric cottage, decorated with taste and according to local traditions. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. The communication also worked very well. Should have been a little longer! Hope our roads cross again in the future :)

Cozy cottage, good communication with a very nice and helpful host! The cabin is suitable for 2-3 people, clean and nice inside. 10-15 minutes away from the Peer Gynt game at Gålå, so very central mtp. those who want to go there.

Lovely cottage with cozy ventilated walls, large open fireplace, very comfortable bathrooms including with a large bathtub, exceptionally well-equipped kitchen with, for example, both waffle iron and stick mixer. Right in the middle of a television with lots of channels when the storm was at its worst. And when the wind blew, it was only a stone's throw to both cross-country skiing and ski lift. 5 min to go to the grocery store. We parked the car at the cabin when we arrived and didn't need it until we were driving home again. Daily mowing up to and including the driveway. A perfect place for the whole family!

The lodge had a fantastic location! With two bathrooms and four bedrooms with good beds with long duvets, we had a wonderful stay! It was tastefully decorated and nothing was missing! There were even candles in candlesticks and flowers on the table. We had a fantastic weekend with the Peer Gynt performance and enjoyed the comfort of a great cabin! Recommended!

If you want to relax and enjoy a beautiful view from the cabin, this is the place for you. It has an open and roomy place to gather with friends or family. Solveig is a great host and she met us upon our arrival.

This cabin is amazing! It was exactly what we were looking for - a cosy log cabin in the snowy woods. The cabin is comfortable and had everything we needed. It even had games for us to enjoy by the fire when we weren't exploring the local lake and sites. Highly recommend as a place to relax and enjoy Norway.

Nice cottage in a nice location on Gålå. A few hundred meters from the Gålåvannet and Peer Gynt stage. Very nice walking area. Great to ride the Peer Gynt road and on nearby trails. Good and pleasant communication with the host. Convenient check-in and check-out with key box.

We were a family of 7 who spent a long weekend at the cabin of Kristine. The cabin was great for both downhill and downhill skiing, it was well equipped and clean and pretty! Kristine has been a great host in every way - good communication and follow-up, she is service minded and helpful. We have had a great stay - and highly recommend the cabin to Kristine - and Kristine - to the utmost. Thank you for having us!

Great cabin a little stone's throw from the Peer Gynt performance at Gålåvannet. Perfect for us who could be right home while everyone else was in a car queue. We were three children and three adults and the cabin had everything we needed. Nice turf with blueberries and friendly sheep right outside the door. Kirstine quickly answered questions along the way. We will be happy to return.

Cozy cottage with the facilities needed. The lodge is handed over to tenants in full confidence that they treat their private "home" as their own - and it is nice to come to a "living place" instead of an empty "rental-shell".

This is a great place in a beautiful area, and Per Erik is a fantastic host. We spent 3 nights here around the Christmas, and we appreciated every minute of our stay. Per Erik was always quick to respond, provided us with useful tips about the area and was very flexible about our minor changes in our schedule. The house is big and even has a small annex for large number of visitors, but we were just six and stayed in the main house. Beds were convenient and prepared. The fireplace had enough wood. The bathroom is equipped with the quality that is rare to find in mountain cottage houses. We liked the dry toilet (so called incinerating toilet) that doesn't use water and leaves no smell. There was Internet in the house with decent speed, and TV in addition to access to Norwegian channels had Google Chromecast so we could stream other content. There are both slalom and cross-country ski slopes. We brought our own skies for cross-country skiing and slopes were about 300 m away. We really enjoyed our stay at Per Erik's place and hope to come back here again. We recommend this place to anyone who wants to explore Norwegian countryside, especially during winter.

Nice and comfortable cottage, with very nice and helpful hosts. We had a baby, and we had to borrow both a cot and a trip stair chair, which we greatly appreciated. They were also very flexible regarding arrival and departure, and otherwise helpful with what we were wondering about. Good beds, and well equipped kitchen. We were here at Easter, and the cottage is excellently suited as a starting point for skiing, with groomed tracks close by. All in all, thumbs up!

This is an above average cabin in the Norwegian mountains, the interior is very nice and the placement of the cabin on top of a hill with beautiful view of the surrounding mountains is gorgeous. We would definitely stay again.

We have had a wonderful stay now at Easter and highly recommend both host and cottage. Great location, and good facilities both in the cabin and in the surrounding area. The cabin was perfect for us with three children between 1-15 years.

Gålå is terrific summer and winter. We were here in the winter, and it is fantastic for both cross country and alpine skiing. Also got a top trip with a powder ride on the Valsfjellet. The cottage is beautiful, road to the door, well equipped with everything you need for cooking etc. Would like to rent the cabin again at the next opportunity.

We had a wonderful time in winter wonderland: Inside it’s a real authentic timber cabin with fireplace, cosy sofa area and dining table, functional bedrooms, and a simple bathroom. Just as it should be! Outdoor it has stunning views to the mountains - for cross country skiing enthusiasts, we would urge you to spend the extra time going to the best slopes a bit further away (Per Gynt, Fefor).

Fantastic place, unbeatable location. We were lucky with the weather and the autumn colors around the cabin were absolutely beautiful. The cottage is super cozy and gave the good cabin feeling with fireplace in the evening. We spent the days exploring the many peaks and lakes in the area. Recommended!

The cabin was amazing and our host was very helpful and easy going, he helped us a lot :) No doubt that i would recomend staying there.... Every thing was nice and clean in and arround the cabin.

Nice cottage in the middle of nature. We had very relaxing days there. For questions was reacted quickly. The only thing we missed was a double bed. We slept in a bunk bed, with the lower part a little wider. For a couple who is used to a wider bed, it is a bit cramped. If you love nature and just want to switch off, it is in good hands.

Nice and cosy house with magnificent views, changing Colors the whole day. A lot to see and do in Environment, Björn gives you tips and there are maps in the house to discover the rest. Nice to know that nature on the ‘silent’ part of Jotunheimen is even more beautifull and for most less crowdy

Great views from the living room. Pictures can't justify this. The host communicates quickly and is hospitable. There is a lot of mosquitoes on site, we weren't prepared for that. Although the house manual describes this. Bjørn is a good host and we highly recommend the cabin.

We where the only guests that day. Nice and quiet. We had the option to check in early, but due to travel delays we did not make it as early as expected, but communication went very well. We appreciated the possibility to use the kitchen/fridge for dinner and breakfast. Room is simple but nice.

It’s a very good place to stay for a night, they’ve arranged a sauna just for us and it was brilliant! Very friendly and helpful people.

We stayed 3 days in the PerGynt Lodge and we felt us welcome. The staff is very friendly! There is also a restaurant with some fast food meus (huge pizza and burgers). We ate there twice and we really enjoyed the food! The room include a small kitchen and bathroom, everything clean and cozy. Vinstra is a great place for some hiking tours!

This is a simple, tidy little cabin with a gorgeous view of the river valley down below. Quick response time and kind hosts. Restroom and showers are a short walk away.

We were traveling through Norway and found the accommodation the same night we could check in. Everything went smoothly and well, although we happened to arrive at the accommodation later than imagined.
