A great location for lovely walks and within walking distance to Ammanford. 10mins drive to Carreg Cennen Castle. 15mins drive to the market town Llandeilo. 30mins drive to both Swansea and Llanelli. A recently converted annex above a garage. Hour from Pembrokeshire Hour from Brecon Beacons and Pen y Fan
A recently converted annex that is modern and spacious. Fully equipped kitchen, bedroom with shower and separate room for toilet facilities. A spacious living room to enjoy and relax. A large drive for parking facilities
A friendly village with a good community spirit. Plenty of places to visit, eat and drink. A central location to many places and a short drive to the M4.
  • Catherine and Clive's place is amazing. Ample parking, very clean and spacious place. Ensured I had all the information I needed as they weren't there but there were no issues at all. Highly recommend this place.

  • Clean, cosy and an excellent price. Dog friendly and stores close by. Would highly recommend staying here. Hosts were very quick with any queries we had.

    Rhys2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Clive met us and showed us in. A beautiful place and so many little touches and really well done! The bed and pillows were great, the heating was warm and easily controlled and shower / bath supplied hot water and just what was needed. A great place to come back to, WiFi worked well, TV and comfy sofa. Tea and coffee supplied and a table and chairs in the kitchen. I’ve visited Ammanford for years as my brother lives there and discovered more cafes to have afternoon tea and breakfast than ever before. We would live to stay again next time we visit. Thank you so much.

    Sandra2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, clean space which more than catered for our stay as a couple and our 1 year old baby. There is no stargate at the top of the stairs but a travel one could be used. Would definately visit again. Easy check in process, host on hand if needed. A stack of leaflets of local places of interest and even some a further afield. Tea and coffee available if needed. 5 stars all round from us 👏👏

    Paul2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect space - everything you could need in a great locality close to the town.

    Charis2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, warm apartment above a garage at the rear or a large garden and opposite Betws park - ideal for dog owners. The location was great for us visiting family. There was no traffic noise so very peaceful. The hosts left us to ourselves, but we had a phone number if there was a problem. The apartment was well equipped, spacious and cosy. Sloping ceilings may prove problematic for taller people on the approach to the toilet, but we're both pretty short so not an issue. This was ideal for what we needed and we very much hope to use it for future visits.

    Sally2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • My parents book and use this place every time they come to visit me. Responses are always very prompt and the place is sparkling! Thank you!

Our cabin has a spacious bedroom with a double bed, a lounge and kitchenette with an induction hob, fridge freezer, microwave, egg boiler and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom again is spacious with a walk-in shower. Our place is close to outdoor activities, public transport, and pubs. You’ll love our place because of the views, the location, the ambiance, the outdoors space, and the people. The cabin is good for couples, solo adventurers, business stays, and furry friends (pets).
Our cabin has a spacious bedroom with a double bed and a spacious lounge with a desk and a sofa. There is a kitchenette with an induction hob, fridge freezer, microwave, egg boiler and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom again is spacious with a walk-in shower. The cabin has disabled facilities such as wide, step free entrances, shower chair, fixed grab bars in shower and for toilet. For potential disabled guests we do need to note that the bed is fixed and can not be moved around to create more space on the side. Around the cabin and the main house there are big gardens with fantastic views available for guests to use. At the moment we are maintaining the top level of our garden but that doesn’t effect the middle level with the garden furniture, the barbecue and the views. Our latest addition to the middle garden is a lazy spa so if you would like to enjoy the views from there, please feel free :) - Between the 1st of October and the 1st of April the hot tub is available on request as it takes quite some time to heat it. The main house is always available for guests to use the lounge and for full use of the kitchen, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Our house and the cabin are in a quiet area. Because of it’s location it feels secluded and it’s very safe to bring your dog. Only 5 minutes away is our local pub, The Raven, which serves great food. We are situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, overlooking the Black Mountains, so there are many great walks, bike possibilities and sightseeing places.
  • A perfect peaceful place, the place was beautiful and spotless, so relaxing. Simon & Neeltje were absolutely amazing, we asked regarding local, walks, they came back with, where they start finish, how long they take etc. Definitely a 10 out of 10. Only bad thing is we had to leave there, but we will definitely be back xxx

    Hayley2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful spot to explore the Brecon Beacons from. A nearby castle, waterfall country, Pen Y Fan, or the showcases. Oh, and you can’t beat access to the local pubs. (The Raven does homemade cheesecake!) Did I mention the hot tub? Finally, big kudos to Simon & Neeltje for greeting us on arrival, and seeing us off.

    Barney2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • Accommodation is in a great location and was lovely with everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Andrea and Ron are lovely hosts and I can highly recommend.

    Sally2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea and Ron's place was fantastic. We only stayed for 1 night but were warmly welcomed on our arrival by Andrea. We had a delicious breakfast using the fresh eggs and on checking out had a lovely chat with Ron about our travels and the farm. We hope to stay again one day.

    Alison2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really nice stay in the house, it was so spacious inside especially downstairs with the open plan kitchen/living area and great views out onto the land from the decking. Andrea and Ron were very welcoming and friendly and the place had everything we needed for the weekend - well kitted out kitchen. Our dog really enjoyed his stay too - liked looking out from the balcony - and there's a perfect secure area for toileting at night too.

    Laura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I’d advise this place to Everyone! Had a lovely stay in a beautiful location, middle of Nature.

Traditional cottage with beams, interior stone walls and fire place. Bedroom includes king-size memory foam mattress, wardrobe and drawers. • Alex's place is delightful, small cottage with a gorgeous lounge and fireplace. Alex kindly let us use his kitchen and lounge on the rainy Saturday which made it a very relaxing time away. Thanks Alex, we hope to be back when it's not as rainy and we can do some more exploring!

    Georgia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

The barn/craft studio is situated in a corner of a field with only a river between the property and the open moorlands of the Brecon Beacons. It's tranquil setting makes it an ideal getaway/retreat.
This space is ideal for small families with children over the age of 8yrs, the open stair case/mezzanine floor being the only obstacle for younger children.
The hamlet of Rhosamman is nestled between two villages, Cwmllynfell and Brynamman and sits right on the the Brecon Beacons with its breathtaking scenery. The vast open moorlands attracts travellers of all interests from walkers, cyclists, and motor vehicle enthusiast. The friendly Welsh speaking community is welcoming to visitors. The nearest shopping area is Ystradgynlais (10-15 mins) which is small yet characterful and has a number of pubs, cafes, independent shops and a bank.
  • 5* throughout. The space was instantly welcoming to be greeted with a warm wood burner and we fell in love with the accommodation and setting. It was unexpected that the fridge be stocked with milk and other bits, fresh bread on the counter and even access to some lovely local beers! Everything was beautifully clean, it was appreciated to have access to Wifi and to be provided with towels and other toiletries. I am sure that we will be back again in the near future.

  • It is one of our best air bnb by far! My family & I loved it very much & that Beverly's cottage has almost what we needed especially in the kitchen. Made our cooking experiences at the cottage a great one! We loved the welcome basket pack! Especially the wine & the welsh cakes! Loved the cheese & butter in the refrigerator too! The entire cottage felt like a home far away from home. Cosy and fully equipped! Though it is quite a distance but as long as travelling on car, it is worth the distance for such a lovely cottage! Great value for money! Highly recommended!

  • We arrived at this sweet little cottage late at night and in atrocious weather. We were immediately made to feel welcome with lights on to greet us and the place warm and cosy. We had a relaxing stay and I have to say that the equipment provided was first class. Our hosts had thought of everything from handy emergency rain ponchos to dog bowls and spare reading glasses! The bed was comfy and the whole place prettily decorated. There was a wonderful selection of reading books, DVD's and games .. just right for rainy days. The location is great for exploring this fascinating part of Wales and although we know the area well, it never ceases to surprise us.

  • A quaint cottage with lovely finishing touches. We didn't get a chance to try any of the local restaurants/pubs; we found we had everything we needed for a cosy night in next to the log fire. The cottage is situated in a great location for a walking holiday. Julie was very accommodating and her directions and information were superb. Overall, a fantastic experience, thank you Julie.

  • The cottage is in a beautiful location. Just as lovely on the inside also- decor is modern but homely with everything you’ll need during your stay. Perfect base for exploring local area. Julie was a brilliant host and really went above and beyond... especially when upon checking out our car battery had gone flat. Julie kindly contacted a neighbour who was able to help us jump start the car. We would stay again!

  • The cottage is exactly as described and displayed in the photographs. All facilities were working fine. The heating kept us very warm. The rooms are quaint and well equipped. The bathroom is stunning, almost palatial. The steep staircase with narrow treads could be a bit challenging for some visitors.

We stayed with our dog Rufus and could not believe how much effort is made by our host to make our stay comfortable. The extras like teas, coffee and breakfast assortment was unexpected but very much appreciated. My husband was so pleased to be able to have the log burner to play with. I cannot Recommend this place more highly or our hosts.

A luxury shepherds hut for two near the Brecon Beacons national park with delightful views over the Loughour Valley. Situated on a small working farm eight miles from Junction 49 at the western end of the M4. Enjoy the seclusion of the farm and walking opportunities in the area as well as the local attractions in East Carmarthenshire of castles, stately homes, gardens, local villages and towns. Further afield are the beaches and beauty spots of Swansea, the Gower and Pembrokeshire.
A shepherds hut that we hope will have everything that you could desire! If not ask. Studio style with integral electric shower room, toilet and hand wash basin. Main area has kitchen, Belfast sink, Induction hob, microwave, fridge and constant hot water. You have a radio but not television or Wi-fi but there is good 4G mobile coverage available. Electric heating with highly insulated walls, floors and roof should keep you comfortable whatever the weather. March 26 update: We have just started lambing from 32 ewes and this could continue until mid/end April (depends on the sheep). The shepherds hut is away from the lambing so you can sleep easily. Its always nice to see young lambs new born and then in the fields. We also have fresh eggs for purchase and there is 64acres of farm to roam over with our fields and woodland if you don't fancy driving.
You will be in the country so please be aware that at night it is dark so have a flashlight.
  • Great views, very peaceful, would recommend 👍🏻

  • A lovely place to get away, to read, write or do some walking in a farm location with stunning views, far from the madding crowd. The shepherd's hut is beautifully designed, exceptionally clean and very cosy, with all mod cons. The family are very welcoming and helpful and made our stay a real pleasure. Highly recommended.

  • Excellent communication from Andrew. The hut was spotless and had a beautiful view, quiet and super cosy. We lived staying there and will be back.

  • Andrew & Shari were great hosts - would highly recommend staying in their beautiful shepherds hut. A unique space to stay in, with great views over the rolling hills, with plenty of small birds to spy on out of the window - including a woodpecker! Great location - not too far from Ammanford where there are lots of shops, but just far away enough that you can enjoy the quiet. About 1hr's drive from the Gower, which is where i wanted to return to - a special place for me, and very close to the Brecon beacons - lots of adventuring to be had. We had fresh eggs, which we purchased from A&S's granddaughter Caitlin, which were delicious! If you're looking for an alternative stay with some exceptional hosts, this is for you...

  • A lovely house from which to explore South Wales. A lovely welcome from the hosts who couldn't be more helpful.

    Aly2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were waiting for us at the apartment to welcome us. They personally showed us the entire place which was very sweet. The apartment is lovely. It has everything you need. We were 4 adults and it was of perfect size for us. The bathroom was awesome although my parents felt it was in an odd place (far away from the bedrooms). There is a backyard and a private parking area. The accommodation is only a short drive away from Brecon Beacons. Sadly we couldn't explore the south west coast of wales (pembrokeshire area) as it was heavy rains so we just stayed in and played board games. Just a tip, if you cant get through to them on their mobile, ring the landline number as we had difficulty getting through on their mobile when we were coming down. Overall a very nice place with good hosts and I will definitely book again.

  • The property was clean and provided everything we needed for us and our 5 month old. The welsh cakes were a lovely added bonus. We were near to some lovely sandy beaches and the black mountains. The hosts were very welcoming on arrival and took us through everything we needed to know, it was a pleasure staying at Gelli House!

    Dominic2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely property, clean and host very friendly

    Duncan2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice welcome by George and Leah, accompained by typical welsh biuscuits prepared for us. Very comfortable house, spacious, clean and full of equipements (even the tumble dryer!). Car parking and a nice garden for eating outdoor or playng children. Recommended 101%!

    Luca2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We were welcomed very warmly by the hosts who had even made us some Welsh Cakes. So nice. We only had a few days and for us it was a good location to explore the Brecon Beakons aswell as the coast. The house is well equipped, especially for families with small children. Unfortunately we are used to sleeping in dark rooms and had to improvise a bit by hanging a blanket in the window. Also there were lots of dog's hair on the carpet in the living room, which wasn't so nice for our children, who like to play on the floor. To be fair, this isn't the hosts fault though, because they especially have a poster hanging in the kitchen with instructions for dog owners (e.g. clean the carpets) so obviously a former guest hadn't done a good job on that. Other than that the house was very clean and tidy. Thank you for having us.

    Kerstin2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Fab place.really clean and warm

    Stacey2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • George and Leah met us (Leighton's in-laws) and showed us around and offered us local advise. There was a bag of dog treats for our dog Poppy, which was a thoughtful touch - thank you. A lovely house, ideally placed for us to visit family and enjoy the Brecon Beacons. There is a beautiful walk up the side of the railway line and passed the trotting track, which we all enjoyed on a beautiful summers day. The garden is excellent with picnic table, relaxing chairs and umbrellas. The bathroom is downstairs, which we were unaware of so worth bearing in mind if you have dogs as you'll have to disturb them for the annoying night time wees. There are several local shops which are very handy and the Mount Bar & Grill is close by, but unfortunately is not dog friendly. I have been before though and the food was plentiful and delicious. I can highly recommend this house. Thank you for letting us stay.

A lovingly converted self-contained farmhouse annexe within Brecon Beacons National Park, this little mountainside retreat is the perfect base for hill walkers, cyclists, nature enthusiasts and outdoor explorers - or anyone seeking peace and beautiful views while being situated just 20 minutes’ drive from the M4.
Bumpers Farm was originally built in 1758. In former times it was used as a drovers’ inn and on older documents is listed as Bumpers Inn. Nowadays it is maintained as a hobby farm, with pet sheep, free range chickens, dogs and ponies. It is positioned right on the Black Mountain, with miles of walks or cycle routes accessed directly from the property. The listed annex is a converted stable, and as such the internal living space is limited, including areas of restricted headroom. The bedroom is a mezzanine floor with velux window set into the sloping ceiling. The layout downstairs is open plan, with staircase, seating area and small kitchenette sharing the space. The bathroom consists of toilet, hand basin and wetroom shower. Please note there is no bathtub. Original stonework has been left exposed where possible to maintain the character of this beautiful centuries-old stable building.
The view from the Stable is spectacular, particularly from the bedroom with an unobstructed view of Carreg Cennen castle – the partially ruined medieval fortress which dominates the local landscape from its hilltop position. It is well worth the steep hike up to the castle during your stay with us. You’re recommended to take a torch with you to explore the tunnel and the damp limestone cave beneath the castle, then follow up with a bowl of cawl or a plate of bara brith from the teashop next to the car park. Llandyfan itself is a quiet village made up mostly of scattered individual properties, with a horse riding centre, golf course and friendly pub within its borders. It is situated in between the towns of Ammanford and picturesque Llandeilo, with its renowned independent shops and restaurants, and is en route for those continuing their travels towards Pembrokeshire. The Brecon Beacons need no introduction here. Bumpers Stable is situated within 2 miles of the Beacons Way (see Day 7 of the recommended 8 day Beacons Way trek). This part of the journey is described as requiring good navigational skills as the route is is mostly along unmarked, open moorland, giving the feeling of being out in the wilds. Here you will pass two impressive Bronze Age cairns at the summit of Garreg Las. You will be unlucky not to spot the iconic Red Kite along with other birds of prey. Wheatears breed here in the summer – we have also spotted snipe, stonechats, skylarks, linnets and meadow pipits to name just a few. The Brecon Beacons is also remarkable as only the fifth destination in the world to be granted international dark sky reserve status.
  • The Stable is set in a beautiful part of the Brecon Beacons, and is the perfect escape to the Welsh countryside. The cottage is very comfortable with great kitchen facilities, and Kate was the perfect host - really helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed some stunning walks nearby, including the hike to Carreg Cennen Castle which we would definitely recommend. Thanks Kate and family (plus animals) for a lovely stay!

    Debbie2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay, the accommodation is well thought out and well presented. Everything was designed to make for a comfortable stay. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare and cook meals. There was a welcome package of wine, eggs, jam, milk, cereal plus the kitchen had olive oil for cooking. Right on the edge of the Brecons, the location is excellent for exploring the west of the Brecons. It’s a short drive to shops and supermarkets. When I saw the hosts they were friendly and welcoming. I would love to stay here again.

    Rachel2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We could not recommend Bumpers Stable more highly - it was amazing - unbelievable value for money. It is the most lovely little getaway and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The space is so cute, very tastefully done and everything you could wish for a break in the Welsh countryside - including chickens and a duck to welcome you as you drive in. It was so quiet and peaceful and the surroundings are beautiful. Kate and her husband were friendly and helpful, always quick to respond to messages. When the water went off, Kate came to let us know before we even realised, provided bottles of fresh water and got her husband to come back from work to change the water supply in the pouring rain - if that’s not dedicated hosting, I don’t know what is! When we arrived, the stable was just as it is in the photographs with the lovely addition of a care package including a bottle of wine, tea and coffee, Welsh tea cakes (delicious!) and some jams - such a lovely, welcoming touch. We spent our time doing outdoor activities nearby (walks, runs, SUP, climbing) and coming home to this lovely comfortable cottage was perfect. We will definitely be recommending Bumpers to friends and will be back ourselves too, I’m sure!

    Ruth2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to stay, couldn't ask for more. We had a lovely welcome package (eggs, wine, welshcakes, milk and breakfast cereal), and the cottage was spacious and clean with a great view of the countryside and Carreg castle. Kate was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed.

    Pippa2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • A bolt hole in the beautiful Welsh countryside. Perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle. Super hosts. Thank you for a brilliant weekend.

    Hannah2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kate and Warwick are fabulous hosts - frequent communication beforehand, detailed directions for how to get there, and a care package on arrival with milk, eggs, mini eggs (we stayed over Easter) and even mini packets of cereal! We had everything we could have wanted, the house was comfortable, clean and spacious, and Bumpers Farm is just the most relaxing, nature-filled place to be. We loved the dogs (especially Becky, what a sweetheart) and the chickens and the horses. Though it seems a little out of the way, you can get to a supermarket in 10 mins by car, and Carreg Cennen Castle (where there are spectacular walks) is also only 15 minutes away. We can’t recommend Bumpers Stable highly enough, it was brilliant! We will definitely be back.

    Madeleine2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Spotlessly clean, a great location and a very warm welcome! We really enjoyed our time here.

  • This is a beautiful cottage in South Wales. It is in a quiet spot surrounded by beautiful countryside. Although it seemed to be in the middle of nowhere it was actually really easy to get to places and towns were not that far away.

We are very friendly outgoing people looking forward to opening our home to our guests. You will experience a warm welcoming environment in our relaxing well maintained cottage. Our home is situated in a quiet village overlooking the Amman Valley and is a blend of traditional and contemporary style. Although it has a 'rural feel' we are close to town and have excellent transport links so you can go exploring. Self service breakfast is available and full access to the kitchen and dining room.
We have created a very quirky home which was originally the village forge, it was extended in 1907 then converted into our family home in the late 90's. We have kept a lot of original features and although it is a country cottage it has an airy open feeling to it. We have a mixture of carpeted, wooden and flagstone flooring with two wood burners so all rooms have a cosy feel to them but to make you feel at home don't forget to bring your slippers.
Situated between Felindre and Ammanford and Pontardulias, we have a number of excellent pubs offering good quality food including a variety of coffee shops and restaurants within a 4 mile radius. We are just down the road from White Springs and Coynant fisheries so ideal for individuals who love fishing.
  • Stop right there! look no further, you have found the best place you could possibly find. Rachel and Richard are so lovely and caring. We were also greeted by three doggies which added to the charm of the place. The home is beautifully decorated and really clean. The views are incredible, bed super comfy and a private bathroom. We were lucky enough to try the duck and chicken eggs from the garden :) Thank you both!

  • Staying here felt like visiting family or good friends. They make you feel so welcome and special. Their home is clean, cosy and beautifully decorated. Full of period charm. A special space to relax and take in the views. The duck eggs for breakfast were amazing. I would definitely recommend it and would certainly go back again.

    Debby2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel is an exemplary host who, like her home, is warm and welcoming. The old forge is cozy and stunning, exactly the place you want to be after being on the road for four hours. The dog friendliness is a huge bonus and little Coco was right at home. The house is situated near some great restaurants. Rachel gave some fantastic recommendations for dinner and cuddled Coco while we went out and ate for two hours. The whole family (Rachel, Richard and the three pups) are wonderful company. We would definitely return next time we are in the area.

    Lydia2019-12-11T00:00:00Z

  • From initial booking to final checkout, Sarah the host was absolutely amazing in giving us above and beyond service. The accommodation is gorgeous. My partner and I would love to decorate our future home in exactly this style. Location is in easy reach to Brecon Beacons. Unfortunately, storm denis hit whilst we were there, so we didn’t really do to much, but lazing around in front of the open fire was just the ticket. We definitely would stay again in the future.

From the cosy fireplace to luxurious large bathtub, massive and soft King bed and fully-stocked kitchen - this is your dream home away from home. The area is quaint and conveniently located close to Co-Op and local delis. We can't wait to visit again!

  • The Cowshed is a hidden gem. If you are lucky enough to stay in this beautiful house you will not only feel right at home but will be accommodated for anything you need! The layout is beautifully decorated as shown in the photos (we thoroughly enjoyed the bath, fireplace and comfortable double beds) and the house is a few minutes from a Co-op and small village where you can enjoy quality coffee. Sarah’s quick replies and recommendations made our stay smooth and stress-free. We would 100% stay again!

The lounge area has cosy seating with a modern log burner to relax. This is an ideal place for a getaway and relax. Breakfast is continental in style and vegetarian. WiFi is available throughout the building. Strictly no smoking
We are just 10 mins from Llandeilo where many cafes , restaurants and individual shops reside. A National Trust property and the Botanical Gardens of Wales are just down the road. Ammanford has a very large Tesco and is also just 10 mins away. There are a couple of pubs just 3 mins away.
  • Exactly what we were looking for! Had a lovely night’s stay at the Stables, in a recently renovated old stable block. Very tastefully done, nicely decked out inside, with lots of thoughtful touches. Location is in a quiet part of the Welsh countryside, the weather smiled on us and we got out for a nice walk around the local ‘Garn’, from which we got some stunning views of the valleys and the ruined castle on the hill. Phil and Veronica were wonderfully welcoming and gave us some great local tips on walks and also on where to go to get some essentials (recommended Llandeilo which was about 10 minutes drive away - a lovely little town). Only downside was that we were staying just the one night - will definitely be coming back to do some more exploring! Highly recommended!

  • This is perfect for exploring mid and south Wales by car/bike. Lovely soft bed, hot shower and gorgeous views, even in mid November. The directions I got were really accurate and even some food recommendations for local places to eat. There is a small step into the space, and another step into the shower. Loads of space for one and enough for a close couple. Hope to be back in the Summer.

  • Paul & Jacki’s place is incredible. The location, house, patio, sunset :). They were not home during our stay so we didn't have a chance to meet them. Overall, great location, would recommend. There is definitely something special about it (in a good way) :)

  • Stunning view and scenic location. Perfect for exploring this part of Wales and the local town is quaint and welcoming as well. Lovely, friendly hosts. Room is small - a bed and side table, but the view makes up for it, and in a place like this you don't want to spend much time in your room anyway

  • I’ve just returned from an overnight stay at Paul & Jacki’s incredible property, it was a very nice place to stay and even though my time there was brief, I really enjoyed it. Jacki was there to greet me and her laid back approach to having guests in her home was fantastic. I was instantly made to feel welcome and was offered a coffee while we watched the Chase on tv. I definitely recommend a stay here for anyone considering visiting this glorious part of the country.

  • Host Pen and friend Delyth is probably one of the kindest people I’ve met. Her response time is quite fast, and instructions are crystal clear. This cottage was absolutely beautiful and I loved every moment of my stay. This is definitely somewhere you want to stay, and hate when you have to leave. Thank you x

Over 200 years old apple cottage retains its old world charm while providing modern comfort. great views over the common and towards the black mountain. Large enclosed private garden. Fantastic base to explore the Brecon Beacons, Gower Coast and the West Wales coastline.
Apple cottage is a one bedroom stone cottage next door to my own home. It is fully equipped for a comfortable and stress free experience. The French door of the kitchen lead out to the garden which is of a good size and very well tended and designed. Dog owners can relax in this furnished gardenspace as their pets cannot run off as it is very private and secure.
Gwaun Cae Gurwen is an old mining village set at the foot of the Brecon Beacons. The cottage is outside of the village and is privileged with fantastic views over the common and towards the Black Mountain. There are two 24 hour Tesco either side of the cottage both 4 miles distance. There is a smaller supermarket at the end of the road which is about a 15 minute walk. We have one very good restaurant/bar which is walking distance and the traditional welsh rugby club which welcomes visitors in to watch a game or just have a drink.
  • This is a lovely cottage, in driving distance of nice walks in the Brecon Beacons. Paula was a great host - good communication with us, and we arrived to find a fire ready for us and a bottle a wine as a welcoming gift!

  • Such a lovely little cottage and very quirky. Paula was such a lovely and welcoming host. A brilliant location for doing the local our door activities and stunning scenery. I'd highly recommend Paula's place for anyone who wants easy access to the countryside and looking for somewhere a little different. We had a little bottle of wine to welcome us which I thought was such a sweet touch.

  • Apple cottage is a perfect getaway cottage in the middle of south Wales. fantastic views and location too. lots of walks. Very dog friendly, Ralph had an amazing week as did Lyn and I. The Cottage with its private garden is well kept and just right for a great break.

  • This is a great place to use as a base to explore Gower, Brecon Beacons and the castles. Paula's been an excellent host and provived us with lots of recommendations about the area. She was very friendly and surprised us with a birthday present, which made our stay even more welcome. The cottage itself was perfect for us two and our dog. The secure garden made it even better for the dog to enjoy the place without having to be on the lead. For the rainy nights, there is a great collection of DVDs but the garden is certainly a great place to enjoy the evening.

  • Authentic farmhouse, very nicely decorated in the middle of an old agricultural landscape

    Anton2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage with great amenities and a great view! The garden and deck (with garden furniture) was a lovely addition. Comfy beds and a great open-plan kitchen/dining/living space - the desk in the corner was also useful for my husband who needed to work some days. If we had stayed longer we would have liked to explore the immediate area... The owners were helpful and were quick to respond to any requests.

    Pauline2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend 100% to stay at this beautiful home. Perfect for me and my family in every way! The views from the garden are spectacular. The hosts are lovely and down to earth. Would definitely book again!
