  • Laura has a wonderful place and she is super thoughtful. We had five people stay, which was a lot for the space, but it was just what we were looking for. Would definitely recommend!

  • Laura's cute little guesthouse was an absolute delight to stay in. My boyfriend and I both could not stop raving about how perfect it was. Laura's hospitality far exceeded our expectations with her thoughtful touches and quick communication. We stayed for Valentine's Day and were welcomed by a cute little box of Valentine's Day chocolates and the heater already on making the place cozy upon our arrival. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the kitchen and decor were very cute. It is obvious a lot of thought went into putting the place together. If you are looking for a place to retreat, I highly recommend this gem. We will definitely be back if we are ever in the area again! Thank you, Laura!

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Don and Kathy's home. It is absolutely gorgeous, with tall ceilings, a huge backyard, tire swing, swingset, stocked with games, toys, bikes, anything a kid would need.

    Katherine2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house was amazing. Don & Kathy were excellent hosts and very inviting to me and my family who rented the house for the weekend of our wedding which was 5 minutes away. They had bottled waters and chocolates in every room including a welcome note for me and my bride to be. Don & Kathy had set up the beautiful green room for my family to have our rehearsal dinner in. The backyard was something out of a magazine and was a blast to enjoy into the evening until quiet time at 10pm . This place is perfect for a group/family to enjoy. I definitely see myself renting again with my family. Thank you Don & Kathy for everything.

  • Don and Kathy's home is amazing! I was so lucky to have found this home in the Meadow Vista area for additional lodging of family during a busy birthday weekend at another location. They have put a lot of thought into their home and property for family activities. We loved our early morning coffee sessions at the firepit before starting our day. The landscaping is so beautiful and well maintained. Unfortunately, we only went into the pool once during our stay due to our other plans. The home has a lot of interesting paintings and artifacts that we had a fun time making up a story behind many of them! Our family will definitely use this home again in the future if the opportunity arises.

  • sunrise House is a charming, clean, and relaxing little Oasis away from the hustle and bustle of city living. It has all the amenities of home and reminds me of how I want my family to feel when they come to visit. The entire home and property are set up for relaxation and family bonding. My bridesmaids and I had such a wonderful time sipping cocktails poolside and playing board games in the beautiful and cozy loving room. We had everything we needed and more. We were far enough away to feel like we were on vacation but close enough to order in and not have to worry about cooking, although if we had decided to cook or grill, we would have been more than set up to do so! Kathy were incredible hosts. We would absolutely love to come back for a family trip with the kiddos!

    Nichole2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Don and Kathy’s place was fabulous! The kitchen was well equipped and 10 of us fit comfortably in the house. The pool was amazing and a nice temperature. Our favorite spot was the green house where we ate most of our meals. Don and Kathy were very nice and responsive to any questions we had but we had total privacy. It was the perfect place for our girls weekend!

    Rachel2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay, again. Clean, beautiful, fun, perfect relaxing vacation stay for families. We’ll definitely stay again.

  • This home is beautifully furnished and decorated inside and out! Peaceful and private. So much for our grandkids to do. The best tire swing (: Like being on the country!

There is a large bedroom with beautiful queen sized double sleigh bed with new comfy mattress and new fluffy bedding along with matching furniture and a fun Beatles Motif. Also in 2020, we have just added a 2 inch memory foam topper for the bed as well as a TV with ROKU. There is also a full length mirror now on the inside of closet door. There’s also a Karaoke machine in the cottage and some CDs and directions in drawer below TV. There is also a mall on both sides of freeway in nearby Rocklin, one of which has the the Studio Movie Grill with a bar and food and alcoholic beverages that can be ordered and delivered inside your movie theater while you’re watching your movie! There’s so much to do you could stay for a week at The Property at Ravine’s Edge and not be bored! Or, just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the cottage for a business or personal retreat.
World class walking trails are five minutes in either direction: turn R on Lincoln Way, then again at Foresthill Bridge and park to right before bridge. Walk down some and get views from beneath of the famous movie shot there (think XXX when Van Diesel drives off that tall bridge). Turn L on Lincoln Way, then again on Russel Rd and drive down to parking area and adjacent trailhead. There are different trails from which to experience breath taking views of the American a River Canyon. Drive 10 minutes down the ravine to the American River Confluence, cross over first bridge and park then walk across bridge and follow to Calcutta Falls, another lovely hike. There are also two shopping centers with multiple food venues and a Raley’s if you go down Tierra from Flood Rd. There is a gas station quick mart at the bottom of Flood Rd (Shell has traveling items if you forgot something) and a liquor store on the left if you turn left and pass the stop sign. There is quaint Old town nearby with great restaurants and bars but things close up early! 😉 Club Car downtown often has live bands and Dingus McGees off Bell Road (one exit up I80) is excellent.
  • Clean, quiet, cozy, and nice views of the foothills from the back yard! We enjoyed our night here before running the Way Too Cool 50k . Mary was very responsive and thoughtful!

    Allison2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • I spent the entire month of feb 2020 in Mary's place. I did not come to AUBURN as a tourist but to find how I will spend my retirement. I ended up purchasing a property with a nursery. This place was the perfect place to get to know the area and work with the locals to get familiar with places to go and and visit the nursery every day. Thanks so much for a great stay.

    Christiaan2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Mary's cottage for a quick weekend trip to attend a birthday party and to sample craft beer at the local breweries. When we discovered the 49ers were playing the day of our check-in Mary graciously allowed us to check in 45 minutes early so we could get situated prior to kick-off. She even provided an air popper for some popcorn to snack on during the game! The cottage was ideally situated for our weekend plans - we would definitely stay here again if our plans bring us back to the Auburn area!!

    David2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's place was amazing. Already have my next stay booked! She is so thoughtful. The rental was clean and easy to find. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

    s2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was wonderfully accommodating, especially when I messed up on scheduling the needed days. Her quick responses to our communication put me at ease. Not only is the cottage at Ravine’s Edge charming, it’s so cozy as well. The icing on the cake was when Mart left a New Year’s Eve celebration “kit” that she put together for my kids. They loved it!

    Christina2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • My family had a very cozy and comfortable stay! Mary was a very responsive and helpful host!

    Tiffanie2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The home was so welcome and inviting. Mary knew we were coming to celebrate the holidays with my son who was home from the Navy and decorated the house with a tree and holiday decor. It made us feel as though we were all home for the holidays. It was a perfect location and we enjoyed our stay very much.

    Coree2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very clean and it was comfortable. Lots of kitchen extras, lots of reading material of local history, etc. We were there to relax and unwind and it was perfect for that. Old town Aubirn is just a short drive away. Thank you, Mary!

We are 1.5 miles from the local Holiday Market and there is a Mountain Mike's pizza just down from the market. Meadow Vista park is in town and offers a great walking/jogging path, tennis and pickle ball courts, basketball, soccer and baseball facilities.
  • My husband and I stayed here while we were taking a workshop in Meadow Vista. The location and apartment was perfect for our needs. The space is beautiful and Patrick was very nice and helpful. He recommended a dinner place and we were able to make a reservation and get in a good dinner for that evening. We definitely recommend! Thank you Patrick!

    Maria2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick's Treehouse is a large, comfortable 1 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and large bathroom. It is clean and well equipped. Patrick is very friendly and helpful and quick to respond to requests. I had a wonderful, relaxing stay and would be happy to return.

  • Very cute little apartment above the garage. It’s quite clean and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay.

    Jill2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The “Treehouse” is truly a lovely place. This was our second visit & we’re already planning for our next one! And Patrick is truly a Super Host who responds quickly to his messages. The “Treehouse” was just what we needed for a weekend get-a-way.

    Melissa2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent space. My husband and I needed a place for 2 nights. It was just what we hoped for. Very comfy and everything we needed was provided. The surroundings were beautiful and so peaceful. We enjoyed every minute while there.

    Lucy2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The “treehouse” is a perfect getaway. The location is JUST RIGHT. It takes a bite outta that long drive if you’re headed to the mountains, or coming back down to the bay. The space and the vibe it had was absolutely wonderful, and Their dog is awesome!!! Would definitely stay again!!!

    Ato2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Darling little getaway. Peaceful and scenic

    Brenda2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • It was hard to leave after a weekend. I wish we could have stayed an entire week or longer. The pictures do not convey what a wonderful treehouse experience awaits the traveler. Our visit was very quiet, peaceful, and full of nature's beauty. Patrick & Stephanie were amazing and truly are "Super Hosts." And getting to meet Tywin the poodle was a very special blessing for my husband and I. We would definitely stay here again & look forward to planning another trip in the future. Thank you for your hospitality!

Enjoy all the foothills have to offer within minutes of this charming 320 sq.ft. 'Master Studio' located on an acre hilltop property with Auburn views. A full kitchenette, comfy queen bed, cotton linens, and a unique bathroom highlight the space. Whether fraternizing with the pygmy goats, soaking in the salt-water pool (May-Oct.), or enjoying in-or-out-door activities, this clean, tranquil, setting is the space for you. *UPDATE: Due to Recent Events, The Studio is Sanitized Between Each Guest!
This is a 320 square foot, attached, walk-in basement, Master Studio apartment that has been freshly renovated and sits on a private acre at the top of a hill. Besides great Auburn views, enjoy cotton linens, organic extras such as tea, coffee and snacks, as well as a full kitchen with all necessities. The bathroom (nicknamed, "The Cave") has a macerating, grinding pump located behind the toilet (affectionately nicknamed 'The Beast'). Note that when full, or when flushed, the pump will run for ~10 seconds (the pump is louder than a standard toilet, so don't be startled). 😉 There is a separate, well lit parking space off the circular driveway on the far side of the house, with a paved walkway to your private entrance (look for the Goat Crossing sign). Note that the 240v EV charge cord is located on the opposite side of the house, in front of the garage (if needed, just let me know). *Studio is always carefully cleaned, but now more care is given to disinfect the doorknobs, cabinets and all surfaces to ensure a safe space for all to visit.
This quiet, safe neighborhood (cul-de-sac street) has beautiful views of Auburn and the Tahoe mountains. You are close to interstate 80 and highway 49. You can walk to a popular brewery, restaurants and much more. Beautiful Auburn trails (hiking, biking), the American river and lake Clementine (fishing, paddling) are only minutes away. The house is located at the top of a hill, in a quite neighborhood, so please drive slowly and be considerate of neighbors. :-)
  • Lovely studio, very clean and lots of special nice touches. Loved the cute pigmy goats.

    Peter2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. It's easy to run into town, super clean and nice inside, there's a beautiful spot outside, and goats!

    Lucas2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • James was incredibly accommodating and easy to talk to. Really appreciated the helpful little nuances of the place.

    Gary2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • James provided such a warm greeting and orientation to the studio. I loved having the goats so close and being able to visit and let them. They were so friendly. He was nice to keep the heat on because the space can be cold, but there are also space heaters which help. The bathroom pump is loud as he describes but it doesn’t last long and isn’t a big deal. I didn’t flush in the late evening just to avoid the sound at unnecessary times and also to save water. It was so nice to have snacks in the room and little touches like spices, bottled water, etc. He really cares about the hospitality and goes above and beyond. The shower runs out of hot water pretty quickly. I forgot to inform him in case he didn’t know. All in all, it was very nice and I’d like to stay there again when visiting family in the area.

    Nadine2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing!! What a gem. I definitely recommend this to anyone traveling through Auburn!

    Rachel2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • James was a great host! Quick responses to messages and very accommodating to any needs we had during our stay.

    Kirsten2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing experience / time here with my spouse . The location was chosen by my spouse cause she saw how amazing the view was in pictures , but you can’t beat the actual view that’s in person . James was a great host , the place was really nice , cozy and definitely a place I would use more often with my spouse when we are in this town . My spouse really liked the goats , they didn’t bother us at all and the neighborhood was beautiful and quiet . Thank you James , this place is definitely recommended .

    Penisimani2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We can't say enough good things about our stay at James's. First, the hospitality and friendliness of our host was 5 stars. The location was perfect for our needs, and the space itself was so clean and inviting! James and his family has thought of everything to provide a wonderful environment (hotel-like amenities but the comforts of home), and we really enjoyed meeting the adorable goats, Brownie and Morgana! The quirk with the water pump that is clearly stated on the listing did not bother us at all! Will definitely be back :)

It is a country style ranch home. Clipper house is clean and uncluttered, with simple accents. The whole house is furnished to relax in and enjoy a home away from home. You ll feel like your in the middle of the woods in your own private mountain lodge. Simple, cozy and rustic
This is a rural neighborhood, with friendly neighbors, but private. It is very quiet, with only the quaint sound of a random train now and then. There can be deer and Wildlife seen in the yard, which is unfenced. This is a lovely place for a retreat, romantic getaway or simoly a place to stay during your work travels.
  • The view is incredible. The house is large and spacious. Its perfect for a quiet stay. Shannon replied promptly. Its about 8 mins from Auburn center, so close to restaurants and the organic grocer. Nice hikes a few minutes away. We sleep well, the queen bed had a warm down comforter and cotton sheets. The pullout couch was firm and comfortable with cotton sheets, we left it in bed mode all 5 days, because the house is big enough and the seating enough. The fire place doesn't work and that was sad, but overall a lovely serene stay.

    Dillon2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. The place was exactly what we expected from the description on the site and it worked well for our family with 2 kids. We hope to go back again sometime.

  • Does not disappoint! Quiet and lovely!

    Donna2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place. So cozy and great touches everywhere. I personally really loved the location and found it convinient as well. And if you have a hard time finding it (I did because GPS wasn't quite right and I was driving at night)..Shannon will help you. I called her and she kindly guided me on the phone. I had a lovely retreat escape. The window itself is better than any tv I've ever had. I didn't miss the TV or wifi at all. Five full stars and I hope to come back again someday.

    Cody2019-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • The property is as advertised. Great communication, clean, and spacious. It’s a funky old Victorian, but everything works and the location is close to downtown.

    Barry2019-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay, walking distance to downtown. I stayed a little over a month and it was a great place to be comfortable. Elijah is very prompt in his responses and is very respectable. It is much like a duplex, so there will most likely be other people in the house. Would recommend staying here and would definitely come back.

  • Everything is very good. The first time was in the US. Zhili here a week, worried about the rented car, but in vain, the place is really very quiet, the neighbors are greeting ...))

This 170 sq ft hideaway is nestled among old oak trees behind our main residence. Light, bright and cheerfully appointed, the cottage offers a comfy, clean, newly renovated bedroom & adjoining bathroom.
Cozy studio with adjacent bathroom connected by the original barn door. Lovingly referred to as the "Playhouse", it was built by Jon's grandfather as a Christmas gift for his children in Christmas 1959. Fully renovated in 2017, the Queen bed has quality linens. Bathroom has showers both inside and outside (outdoor shower is semi-private, so popular in the Summer months.) While there is no kitchen, the cottage provides everything serious coffee drinkers need in the morning: a mini-fridge, electric Hario kettle, Chemex pour-over coffee pot, Peets coffee/Tazo teas, cream & sugar.
Built in the 1950's, the property was constructed before I-80 & Hwy 49 became such busy thoroughfares and feels incredibly private for such a central location.
  • This is a gem of a little cottage. Cozy, clean, quiet, and close to downtown and Auburn’s famous running trails. I highly recommend staying here when you come through!

  • Claire’s place is perfect for a getaway to Auburn. The cottage was great for me and my wife on our overnight stay. It’s clean, cute, private and centrally located. I would definitely make a return visit!

  • Wonderful, cozy spot with nice touches. The best part was the pour over coffee set up.

    Angel2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay! Close to downtown and everything Auburn has to offer. Darling decor and kid friendly. I loved all of the little details (books, coloring supplies, lollipops, bed side lights, heater, natural toiletries, mirrors, magazines, coffee and cream in a cute little fridge box, etc). Bright and cheery. I wish we could have stayed longer.

    Sutter2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little cottage for a great price! Lots of nice toiletries in case you left some at home. Bed was very comfy. Very clean and spacious bathroom. A great value!

Auburn is a small town near the Sierra Nevada Mountains, with rich gold rush history. My home is centrally located between two major highways in North Auburn. It's less than 5 minutes to Highway 49 and 10 minutes to Highway 80. We have a wide variety of restaurants, shopping, wine tasting and local farmers markets all located close by; as well as, our historic Downtown and Old town, which are about a 10 minutes drive away!
You will find that our queen size memory foam mattress will give you the perfect night of restful sleep. With warm colors on the walls, this room is sure to set a relaxing tone for your stay. Your morning cup of joe can be enjoyed in the serene setting of our front porch or a glass of wine in the evening (not provided) Our bathroom is shared and necessities are provided ( body wash, and towels)
Auburn was named "The Endurance Capital of the World" because of the beautiful trails, lakes and rivers that surround it, and a Community that supports an active outdoor lifestyle. My rental is about 5-10 minutes to several of these destinations, as well as about an hours drive to the majestic Lake Tahoe, a 25 minutes drive to the eccentric towns of Grass Valley and Nevada City. Can you tell I love where I live?? I truly enjoy hosting traveler's and sharing my Sierra Nevada home with others and hope you enjoy your stay!
  • Sean was a gracious, accommodating and friendly host. She has some very friendly pets as well.

  • Super casual, inviting space

    Kristin2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great value

    Robert2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I got the room facing north- it's superb for the quality of the memory foam - bed- superb! The cat may scratch at your door if you happened to feed it beforehand. Apparently salmon is his favorite. There is also a doggy who despite his small size doesn't go crazy yapping, but rather may smother you with love. .. Definitely Feels like home.. unlike the sterile cold of hotels. Than there's the hostess, who is not only charming but also knows a lot in a field of health nutrition. Xoxo I miss them already..

    Robert2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • I was coming into Auburn late afternoon for a trail race early the next morning. Saen was really easy to communicate with about my arrival time, and super helpful with directions. Saen is an awesome gal too. If I wasn't so exhausted from the road, I would have continued to talk her ear off! Space was exactly what I needed. Clean, comfortable, and a great value. I'd absolutely stay again the next time I come to race. Thanks Saen!

    Casey2020-01-18T00:00:00Z

Lovely Clipper Cottage is located on 5 acres with views of the Sierras. Out in the country, while only a ten-minute drive to the historic town of Auburn. Marble counter tops, in a small but fully stocked kitchen. The main bedroom has ample sunlight and a cozy queen bed, a very quiet place to come back to for rejuvenation. This is a sweet, very clean, and cozy place to stay for a private retreat after fun adventures on the area! A little small, but cozy.
Clipper cottage is cute, clean and cozy! Its small, but has everything you need. Marble countertops, new flooring, and a great bed!. Rollins and Lake Clementine 20 min drive. 10 minute drive to Colfax or Auburn. surrounded by Nature, the cottage is quiet and peaceful. Beautiful sitting room with lots light and a desk for work. Quiet, yet 5 min to I 80. Please note, the bathroom and common area are quite small. Bedrooms are normal size. We do have other tenants on the property, who you may pass coming and going. Everyone is friendly and private.
10-15 minute drive to Auburn to the west and Colfax to the east. Near Rollins Lake, American River and countless bike trails. Quaint town of Meadow Vista 10 minute drive. In the heart of the foothills!!
  • This guesthouse an excellent place to stay just outside of Auburn, while being somewhat secluded in the woods. There are two other homes on the property one being attached to this guesthouse, and the other directly across from it. It was very quiet our entire stay during the day and night. Aside from the very occasional passing train, which I found to be unique and cool benefit of a stay at either of the Clipper Gap properties. The kitchen and bathroom were amply stocked with the expected amenities like dish soap, and shampoo. In addition the hosts were communicative and helpful throughout the whole process, would definitely stay here again!

    Jessica2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed for two weeks after selling my house and it worked out great for a quiet relaxing spot but still less than 20 minutes from my job in Rocklin. I liked the convenience of the full kitchen and self check in and would recommend especially for the overall value at the time I stayed.

    Christopher2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location, only a few minutes to the freeway, 5 min to auburn. Place was clean, comfortable for our few night stay. It is a little small as stated, not much for common space, mainly 2 bedrooms to hang out and enjoy each others company. But it was perfect for our family. We enjoyed our stay, it was peaceful and quiet. I highly recommend to anyone not needing much living space, and no TV. Perfect place to unwind and get away from the hustle n bustle of the city. Yet only a few minutes to town.

    Jessica2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect little piece of heaven, to disconnect and really enjoy nature. It is a beautiful property, gorgeous scenary and truly tranquil. Super clean, lovely place, appliances and space was very clean, cozy and welcoming.

  • A quiet comfortable place that had everything we needed.

    Bonnie2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • A nice place to stay off I80, best to find it in daylight the first time. Other people live on the property in buildings nearby, but it was quiet. Check-in and parking were easy. Plenty of space for our needs :)

    Jessica2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • First night I arrived, I saw several deer outside the cottage! And there were more deer in the morning :-D Immaculately clean, exactly as pictured. Small, though in a cozy way. It has every convenience. Exactly what I was looking for in a “nature” getaway from my presently hectic life. I would definitely come back. Thank you for a great stay!

  • Andrew's place was the perfect place to stay while Mountain Biking in the area. I expected it to be nice based on other reviews and I was not disappointed!

  • I had a great stay here when I was in Meadow View for an event. The guesthouse is very clean and cute. The bed was very comfortable and Andrew was a great host who provided great communication. I’d stay here again!

  • Great spot we stayed on the way to Tahoe! Cozy and stylish

    Daniel2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • My mother and I came up from Southern California to stay at Andrew’s place because of my grandfather passed away and we went to his memorial. Staying at Andrews place made our trip a lot happier. It was one less thing we had to think about everything was taken care of for us. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It’s like your own secluded cabin in the woods. As soon as we walked in I was thinking of coming back again. ❤️

    Kelly2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and just right for two couples. Easy to spot, just right off the freeway. Very spacious with inspiring touches! Too bad we were all too sore from first time snowboarding so we just stayed in and didn’t get a chance to explore outside of our Airbnb. But the house was too cozy to leave anyway!

    Veronica2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed two nights at Andrew's place seeking a relaxing weekend before a deployment. The space was very clean, stylish and in a private/secluded area with only a short drive to Auburn and Grass Valley. We loved the stay here and I would totally live in their guesthouse full time!

    Andrew2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • It's a small but well thought through space. We cooked all the days that we were there and the one burner stove was sufficient. I had also carried my Instapot, but didn't really need to use it. Small touches made it evident the hosts take care e.g. good towels, pleasing decor, sufficient warm blankets. The host responded quickly to all questions. We ended up extending our stay here which would not have been possible had we not liked the space that much.

Hummingbird House is a tiny house decorated in a vintage style, with quality craftsmanship, making use of all recycled building materials. Tucked away on 20 acres with gardens all around, goats, hens, ducks, dogs and cats. The house is newly remodeled and has kitchen, bathroom, double bed, single bed/nook/couch, and dining area table and chairs, with modern heating and air conditioning. Coffee, herbal teas from the garden, sugar, honey, creamy goat milk and cheese are all supplied from the farm.
The house is a small studio space with a full kitchen. The house will sleep three, but is more comfortable with two. The bathroom has a tub/shower and is brightly lit with glass blocks and a sliding glass door that look out on the goats and ducks. Just out the front door is a grape arbor with a sitting area underneath. We offer an outdoor wood sauna and cold bathtub plunge for 10 dollars. This is the real country so it may be dusty or muddy on occasion, so come prepared. It is usually quiet, but we regularly have projects and work to do, which can make some noise. We are up a long dirt driveway with vintage trucks along the way, and parking is spacious and easy. We are a couple miles from Highway 80.
  • Quiet, secluded property. There's a couple of friendly animals (cats, dog) that greeted us every morning. Only 8 minutes from Weimar Institute. We would stay there again. There's space for 3 (a double bed and a single-wide day bed), plus floor space for the portable crib we brought for the baby. Very quiet neighborhood.

    Ken2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The space is lovely, comfy, charming and great! I had a wonderful time staying there with my two small kids (we threw down our own air mattress on the floor to give each kid their own bed). Jerre was very sweet and welcoming and offered to help out when I was feeling under the weather during my stay. Would definitely recommend!

    Manish2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very neat place, small cute farm

    Boaz2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • I thought the spot was charming. I loved being on a farm with animals. I stayed with my two kids and we loved it! If you pay attention, you can watch jerre milk the goats, and they sell goat cheese and milk. Loved it!

    Hollie2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little retreat on a beautiful family farm.

    Shannon2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cottage interior is delightfully panelled in nice wood. Delicious tomatoes and chard from garden, and others we didn't sample, for cooking on gas range and in toaster oven. Very friendly, gentle and quiet dog greets guests and will happily escort them around the hilly property, with one of the three cats chipping in occasionally. Four penned goats are also happy to scrutinize and sniff guests and have their heads scratched. Hosts patiently answer questions about the elaborate homesteading done here over many decades. Surprisingly decent Wifi connection for such a remote location, although little or no signal for my cell phone. Absence of a TV contributes, alongside the smell of many kinds of trees and shrubs, to the feeling of taking time off from urban life, while being only short drives away from nice restaurants and other shopping.

    Neal2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the location, the driveway is long and a bit dusty when we were there. The hummingbird house is a great space, while we were there outside we could hear a party near by, inside as quiet as can be. Definitely recommended!!!

This charming 16ft yurt sits on its own in a private pine and oak forest on our farm property. Offering quiet privacy, it is a truly rustic experience best suited to those who already have a comfort level with campground-type facilities: warm in summer, wood-heated in winter. A bathroom building is 150 ft away, with a shower house just beyond. Guests can opt into use of the farm's community kitchen for a$15/night fee. The full kitchen includes a bathroom and lounge area where wifi is accessible.
The yurt is a perfect place to relax and recharge in the country or to use as a base camp for your all-season adventures in the Sierra Nevada foothills. It's a well-placed access point to river country, hiking, biking, and South Lake Tahoe resorts. Guests are also invited to learn more about the on-site organic veggie and flower farm, and even participate if they want! Our yurt is located in one of the more private parts of our farm. Formerly a small campground, guests have access to a separate bathroom (toilet/sink) about 150 feet away as well as a shower house a bit beyond the bathroom. The shower house is roofed and partially enclosed but fully private, and has all the hot water you'll need. Towels, soap and shampoo/conditioner are provided. The yurt has two large windows that look out onto the forest. Inside you'll find a full-sized bed with comfy bedding, a dresser, bedside lamps, seating, and a wood stove. In summer the yurt can be warm during the day, but cools to ambient temperature at night. Summer highs average 85-95 degrees, with night time lows in the 60's and 70's. In cooler months, firewood, kindling, and lighting paper are all provided. The stove will be all ready to light on arrival and we are happy to help with the fire in any way. We'll count on you to add wood and to decide when you're warm enough on cold nights! Because we wish to preserve the quiet and natural atmosphere of the forest, guests are asked to drive only as far as the bathroom on arrival for unloading. A handy wheeled cart is provided for the last stretch on foot down a well marked path. After unloading, guest vehicles are parked near the shower house allowing easy coming and going with no extra gates to navigate. Wildlife abounds! Guest often hear coyotes, owls, and birds. Deer, squirrels, and hawks are frequent visitors as well. The yurt overlooks a new pond and includes deck seating, a hammock, and a picnic table. Optional kitchen/lounge access is available to guests for a fee of $15/night, requested/paid after booking via the Airbnb app. The kitchen is located about a 3-minute walk from the yurt, near the owners' house and the main growing field. Guests share the use of this community kitchen with a few on-site farm workers. It's not part of any living quarters, and guests who have opted for access are welcome to come and go as they please anytime of day or night during their stay. Quiet hours are in effect and enforced from 10pm to 6am. Outside guests are not allowed. The kitchen includes a full stove/oven, fridge, sink, dishes, cookware, and storage space. Guests will have areas of the shelves and fridge marked for their exclusive use. There is no dishwasher, and guests are expected to clean up after themselves, respecting the shared nature of the space. Also in the kitchen area guests will find a lounge area and bathroom. Wifi is accessible from the lounge. The kitchen/lounge is heated in winter months, but does not have A/C, so it can be warm during summer days.
Colfax is a charming railroad/gold rush town just off of highway 80. It has a full sized grocery store and a Starbuck's, but also boasts good eating spots and antique stores. Wood-fired pizza is definitely worth the stop at Il Pizzaiolo. For more traditional American food, try Dine 'n' Dash. Hiking and swimming at the American river is just a short drive down into the canyon, and the majestic Yuba river is only 45 min from here. We can help direct you to our favorite hiking trails and other cool sites in the area.
  • Tranquil space, cozy yurt and great location. This was a perfect short get away. Looking forward to our next visit already.!

  • Exceeded our expectations. Great space for the camping enthusiast that wants a little more comfort. Quiet and solitude in abundance, a super comfortable bed/pillows, and a wood burning stove to keep you cozy on chilly nights. This is the perfect getaway to make you feel miles away from home.

  • The yurt is such an amazing getaway for a couple! It is nothing short of a dream. Steven was extremely hospitable and gave us exceptional service. He greeting my husband and I when we arrived and gave us the run around of the property. The land runs as far as the eye can see and plenty of room to explore.. we got a chance to visit with his chickens and pigs. The night we stayed there was a little chilly but the wood burning stove kept us very warm and Steven provided plenty of wood. There is ample amount of room within the yurt and you do not feel cramped. The bed is a good size and very comfortable. The land around the yurt was so fun to explore and even equipped with a pond nearby. We brought our dog and he loved it! We will definitely be back!

  • Dave’s place was lovely and as described. On pretty property with a small creek and he allowed our dog to run around freely. The artist loft is next to the main house and the deck overlooks the main house and property. Dave was available in person for check-in and had suggestions for where to take our dog swimming (local lakes) and the nearest grocery store and restaurants. Would stay again, thanks Dave!

I highly recommend this place!

  • Dave and Kari’s studio loft was perfect for our long weekend visit to the area! Checking in(and out) was easy and Dave made sure to let us know that if we needed anything, we could easily contact them, they would be around but that we would also have privacy, which we did. Their place was easy to find and a quick couple of minutes off the freeway. Very quiet and peaceful, beautiful property! The loft was very clean which is always my number 1 concern wherever we stay! We felt very comfortable there. Plenty of room and everything you could need was available. I really can’t think of anything to suggest, it really was perfect for us! We would definitely book with Dave and Kari again, great & sweet hosts, and always quick to reply to my messages- they even kindly had a bottle of wine for us and left the outside light on when I told them we’d probably be arriving late. Thank you Dave & Kari!

My husband and I have lived in England, Spain and many places in the USA. We welcome all to our studio apt in our meadow in Eden Valley. Our studio is up stairs over the barn and has a private deck, entry and all amenities. Our house is close but separate should you need anything.
Our home is in a quiet valley 15 minutes from Interstate 80. You are surrounded with green grass and many trees, a pond and no houses in sight. The space is very private and fully self contained with a view from every window.
Welcome to our studio apt in the meadow. Enjoy a private get away, but close to everything! 45 minutes to Boreal Ski Area, 90 minutes to Tahoe, 2.5 hrs to San Francisco. PAcific Crest Trail, American and Bear rivers minutes away. A perfect home base for all activities, such as skiing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, dining or just plain relaxing. We have your home away from home. Come enjoy!
  • Always a perfect stay with Bill Merry and Moly.

  • This studio was one of my favorite Air Bnb experiences. The hosts were very kind and left thoughtful touches like a flower arrangement in the living room. The space was clean and had more amenities than we needed. This studio is located on the most beautiful property. From the porch, you can watch wild birds & hummingbirds and see the horse grazing in his stable. The studio itself was super cozy and was very comfortable. I was also impressed by the signage leading to the studio. It made finding the airbnb super easy. We visiting during the Spring, so there were daffodils and cherry blossoms blooming EVERYWHERE. I would visit this property again. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get away and relax.

  • This was a cool place. Small but very homey. Private even though hosts lived next door in separate house. Very sweet, clean and cosy. Not Ikea furnished, thank goodness! Real. Quiet. Felt just perfect. Cant say enough nice things about the experience. In lovely country side..Comfortable for two. Just perfect to relax in at the end of a long day. Beautiful big deck overlooking the meadow and property. Old horse. Wonderful welcoming hosts. Frig and kitchen with yummy organic food; eggs, milk, yoghurt, juice, butter, English muffins, condiments, spices. Fresh flowers, bouquet of fresh herbs. One of our favorite places yet.

  • Bill and Mary's studio is the ultimate Northern California getaway, and they're the best hosts you could ever ask for. Their place is tucked away off the beaten path, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Bill and Mary went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home, and we enjoyed feeding their horse, T-Bone, and playing with their adorable mini Aussie, Molly. We hope to return one day!

  • This was our first time using Airbnb and what a wonderful experience. The “apartment” was extremely clean and had everything we could possibly need. The location is great a super easy to find (especially with a little pointer from Breckken). Check in was so easy. She even provided us with a list of local venues. Very quiet. A peaceful get away. Thank you so much. We will definitely return. The husband and I had one question..... what is the large “thing” with the word Panche written on the side. We were making bets.

    Mary2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish, cozy, and private: Just what I was looking for! Tea and coffee in the kitchen. Comfy couch for chilling and watching a movie or two. The perfect location right near great restaurants and shops in Auburn. Thanks you guys! :)

  • Very comfortable with great parking space right in front of the stairs to the entrance to the guest suite. It was very private and I never heard the hosts besides when arriving or leaving in their car/s. I stayed for 7 days and saw them twice. They were happy to be as helpful as you might like and I'd be happy to stay there again.

  • This is a wonderful space. The apartment is private, very clean, and has all the amenities that we needed. Lovely views day and night. We can highly recommend this spot.

    Deborah2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Where do I even start?!!! Short version, stay here stop looking anywhere else. Longer version, this place has so much to offer. The location is perfect. Its close to town but just far enough away where you get to see lots of animals and enjoy the countryside. The sunrise and sunsets from your porch are to die for. Birds are chirping. Geese are flying by. A neighbor has a water feature on their pond so you always have a gentle soothing water noise. Its quiet. Its private. I stayed here for 3 months while working in Roseville (commute about 25 min) and worked night shift and was able to sleep like a baby during the day. Auburn is beautiful and the place is very close to all the hiking and mntn biking trails. But then the actual apartment. OMG. They have great taste and have gotten some quality materials for the inside, aka soft closing cabinets, wonderful rainfall showerhead, and even the bathroom sink has a dim blue light on the faucet so you can see at night! The kitchen is inspiring I actually was excited to learn and cook new recipes! Full size fridge that keep your water very cold and delicious. I have back problems and the bed is perfect and was very comfortable. The couch is as well and ended up being my favorite napping place. Ooo and cant forget the washer/dryer! I felt so spoiled it cleans so well and effectively and the dryer is really fast! The dishwasher is quiet I would even turn it on before bed and in the studio I could still barely hear it. Mandy and Mike are an adorable and super sweet couple. Theyre so quick to respond and are there for anything. So welcoming and accodomating. This place is very private. Ur own parking spot. My doggie loved the room to roam. Delicious fruits at your picking in the orchard. This studio has it all and I cant say enough good things about it!

  • There is no other place that you should rent in Grass Valley for a better experience and amazing views. This studio apartment on top of the mountain affords spectacular sunsets, amazing sunrises and a sense of peace and calm that anyone can appreciate. The lodging is ideal for longer stays with a fully equipped kitchen, an enormous walk-in shower, and a super comfy bed. The central living area is lovely for an evening movie or just relaxing. Wildlife abounds.. critters of all kinds are all over and I was greeted by a buck and doe one morning as I was leaving. Down the street is an alpaca llama farm with super friendly animals that love getting a quick pet. Downtown Grass Valley and Nevada City are rich with history and boutique shopping. Spend an afternoon strolling through the many shops... you won't be disappointed. The hosts are fabulous! Rick and Linda are wonderful people with a rich knowledge of the surrounding area. Make sure you get tips for the best wineries to visit just a short distance away... no need to go to Nappa or Sonoma for great wine.. this is the hidden treasure of Northern California. I look forward to my next trip to CA just so I can visit with Rick and Linda and "come home" again!

The Hideaway Auburn is a unique oasis on the edge of the American River Valley. Set on 13 acres in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, it will feel like you are deep in the woods, while having access to creature comforts within walking distance. This home was built in the 1930's & holds onto that charm, while offering the luxuries of modern day. Whether you are planning an adventure in the surrounding natural mountains and rivers or looking for rest & relaxation, let this be your home base.
The Hideaway offers views of the tractless wilderness that stretch from the foothills to the wilds of the Sierra Nevadas. Our peaceful mountaintop home is surrounded by lush landscapes nestled between native oaks, cedars and redwoods. A limited kitchenette inside the hideaway is furnished with a microwave, toaster oven (that can bake, roast, and dehydrate), mini-fridge, icemaker and coffeemaker. As the house is built in the 1930’s noise from the upstairs does travel and we’ve kept some fixtures original to keep its charm. Relax and recharge at the infinity pool with views of the American River Valley, the sunrise from the pool deck is worth the early wake up!
We are just above the confluence of the North and Middle Forks of the American River and at the doorstep of the Auburn State Recreation Area. Auburn is known as the "Endurance Capitol of the World" with events supporting this title year round. To the East are Tahoe and El Dorado National Forests and to the West are the cities of Sacramento and the Bay beyond. A large Raley's grocery store with a Peet's coffee shop and multiple restaurants are within walking distance. The Fairgrounds, Downtown and Old Town Auburn are less than a ten minute drive down the hill. Grass Valley and Nevada City are just down the historic Highway 49. The Hideaway is on the Eastern edge of the Placer Wine Trail, in the middle of the Mandarin Trail in Placer County, rafting country, and about an hour away from where the gold rush began. From our property you can be hiking, mountain biking, road biking, river rafting, kayaking, skiing and snowboarding, bird watching, fishing, 4-wheeling, and exploring within the hour. The adventure is endless.
  • This house is beautiful and the views are spectacular

    Gayle2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in both the big house and smaller studio was amazing! This property is stunning. All of the bedrooms have a bathroom off of them, making it easy to share with multiple people. The kitchen was very well stocked and the refrigerator was huge. We did rent out the lower studio, and I would suggest to rent them out together. The footstep noise when you’re down below is extremely loud. If we had been only renting that portion I would’ve been disappointed. I do think Chris & Jen should consider making the listings one rather than two. Otherwise, check in was really easy. The place is gorgeous and my family is now talking about going back for family events!

    Mandy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Simply, we had a wonderful stay. The space has a great feel, is clean and is full of nice touches and ambience. The view is stunning and general location feels private, is quiet, but affords easily access to town.

    Alex2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tucked away from life this home offers amenities and views that will blow you away! The hosts are more than responsive and accommodating . The area offers plenty to do all within a short drive. Stop into Ikedas and grab a pie!

    Brad2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We rented The Hideway in addition to The Homestead to have enough space for our group, and the setup worked perfectly. There is a door connecting the two inside the house, so when you have both it is like an extension to the Homestead, but when booking just The Hideaway you are separate. This would be perfect for a couple or 2, there is a kitchenette that would be sufficient for small meals, and the pull out bed seemed quite comfortable.

We live on an acreage on the outskirts of Auburn, California, a small town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. We have fruit trees, grape vines, a big garden and chickens. We're located on the winding, tree-lined 'Wine Trail', with dozens of wineries close by. Auburn is known for its outdoor recreation and is situated on the American River -close to lakes, forests and mountains. It's also the home of Endurance Races... for runners and equestrians.
The space we offer is a large sunny room overlooking the small orchard from the deck and with access to the back yard as well. The room has a folding table and stools, small refrigerator, microwave and plates, bowls, cutlery, wine glasses, coffee cups and coffee maker. We also provide a selection of teas and instant cocoa. Feel free to enjoy the acreage, orchard, flowers and vegetable garden. We provide wi-fi, as well as local and internet tv, with Showtime, HBO, Hulu, PBS, etc.
Auburn began as a gold mining town and has wonderful museums and a lively 'old town'. There are tons of restaurants and two movie theaters... and of course, wineries. There are local rafting and kayak rentals, bicycle routes, hiking, festivals, historic walking tours...

  • We just stayed a quick night, arrived 10pm and out before 7am. The place was clean, easy to check in, and the beds were very comfortable. Hospitality was great. Offered to have the sofa bed ready for us and the heater was on so we arrived to a cozy space to rest. They had morning snacks and coffee, as well as mini fridge and microwave but we did not use. Communication was great. We would definitely come back.

  • Celena's place is a gem. It is the best airbnb that I have stayed in with my dogs. The place is big, clean and it has fenced in yards for my dogs to run around. Will come back to visit!

My home is close to Downtown and Old-town Auburn, the movie theaters, restaurants, wineries, hiking trails, biking trails, rivers, golf courses, and more! The place is cozy, quaint, private, in a great location, and makes for a great weekend get-away. If you are a couple or even a solo adventurer then you will feel at home!
My place is around a 800sqft studio and is more than enough space for 2 people. Sit and enjoy the living room, or outside on the patio. Fenced so you have privacy from the neighbors!
My place is a 5 minute drive in either direction from everything you need whether it be the grocery store, restaurants, Old Town Auburn, Downtown Auburn and only 5 min off where Hwy 80 connects to Hwy 49.
  • Excellent host and location. Would highly recommend and would most certainly stay here again.

  • This is a gem of a home - communication was fantastic, the place was clean and well put together. The layout lends itself to having plenty of room. I owing highly recommend this home as a place to stay and highly recommend Emily and Tyler as hosts.

  • Very cute cottage located close to great breweries and hiking locations. Great value for a cozy stay. Would recommend :)

  • Stayed here for a week and commuted to work in Rocklin. Great value compared to local hotels with privacy, quiet, and a full kitchen. Thank you to the hosts for bailing me out when I accidentally locked myself out one morning! I would definitely stay here again.

    Christopher2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • I spent 2 nights and found the studio very comfortable, roomy and well appointed. It is exactly as it appears in the photos posted with a comfy sitting area between the bed and kitchen. I slept well due to the quiet locale and the comfortable bed. The hosts were attentive and helpful.

    Scott2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay over Christmas week. This place is very clean, the bed is comfortable, it's well stocked, and a lot of interesting items in the decor. And as others have mentioned, the bathroom floor is pretty cool. Would definitely recommend.

    Carl2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place is beautiful and cozy. Full kitchen if you want to cook or close to restaurants. Peaceful neighborhood. Love it.

  • We ended up having to cancel our stay due to a snowstorm that derailed our travel plans, but Tyler was very friendly and accommodating about first adjusting the planned dates of our stay and then helping us cancel. Communication was quick, changes were processed immediately, and Tyler was professional and understanding. Looking forward to rebooking next time we visit the area (hopefully not in the middle of a bomb cyclone!)

The little touches such as robes and slippers and toiletries were a huge plus. This place was toasty warm with a gas fireplace and an electric heater, so don't be afraid to stay here in the winter.

Nice touches like bathrobes, games, wi-fi, fireplace, tv, sauna, and a pool in a very quiet spa-like setting. We walked into town (8 minutes) for dinner and ice cream. The cycling is amazing in the area and close to skiing. Loved it.

  • Ingrid's guest house is a charmer! Cozy, very comfortable with every touch and overnight necessity you would need, supplied, and even a mattress warmer🤔 We returned after a previous visit 3 months earlier, vand have found out NorCal sanctuary. And as a bonus if time allows, Ingrid cooks the most delicious fruit crepe-like pancakes. She is more than a superhost, more like a favorite European relative!

    JJ -Judith2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Super host! A wonderful place! Great setting! Comfortable bed! Thoughtful touches! Will definitely book again!

    Kenneth2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ingrid welcomed us and our dog into her beautiful house, with lots of artistic details. Our en-suite room had beautiful view into the garden and separate entrance, which ensured privacy. She even prepared dried organic gala apple slices for us, which was delicious, and we hope to be back for her infamous apple pancake. It’s also conveniently located just off I-80, and highly recommended if you’re on your way to Tahoe area. We will definitely be back.

    Sophia2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ingrid's guest room was super cozy! She had turned on the mattress warmer for us and there were plenty of blankets and towels. She even had new toothbrushes in case you forgot yours (which we did so we rushed to buy one on the way, but she had already anticipated guests doing this!). Even though we were just passing through for the night, we felt really cared for.

    Cyndia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

  • Nancy’s place is exactly what Airbnb should be, an extra room in somebody’s house that’s clean and simple and perfect for a traveler, with a wonderful host who gives you your space when you need it but is there to talk to you so you feel comfortable. So many Airbnb’s now are like mini hotel rooms, it takes away the whole point of staying in an Airbnb. Her place wasn’t like that, it was very “local” , I am so happy to have found Nancy‘s place because this is why I like staying in Airbnbs. Nancy was there to greet me and then I had my own space which was clean and quiet and perfect. ( it’s how my Airbnb is, a regular house where the guests feel very welcomed). Anytime I am in the Auburn area I will definitely pick to stay at Nancy‘s place.

    Vincent2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy is great about being there for you or giving you your space if you need it. Her home is very inviting and you feel at home as she stays in a separate space of her own she created out back. She was a joy to talk with and made my stay very relaxing.

You will be staying in a 27 ft. Prowler travel trailer. It is on a 5-acre lot along with a main house (and some out-buildings) which is about 150 feet away. The nearest neighbor is about 200 feet away. You will be nestled in our wooded forest with views of the trees and meadow. Very serene and dark at night This is a pretty roomy trailer so we will accommodate two adults and a child as a third guest. Please let us know if you are bringing a child. We do charge for all guests after one.
Located in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, at about 2,250 feet elevation, you will be nearby the small and quaint towns of Auburn and Colfax. About 45 minutes from Sacramento. You have a nice front porch deck to sit and relax watching the wild turkeys and deer wander by. Listen for the crunching oak leaves and there will be an animal near by. There is a full roof built over the Prowler which keeps wind and rain noises at bay. There is an a/c to keep you cool and heat for winter to keep you warm. We have stocked the kitchen with some basic dishes, pots & pans, utensils, cooking oil, salt & pepper and coffee maker along with coffee and black teas. Plenty of towels, shampoo and body wash are provided. Within 4 miles there are two local markets and a handful of local diners as well as a few fast food places. • My stay was 5 star and even better than expected! A perfect getaway weekend in the forest - but with 5 star amenities & hospitality. Slept amazingly. Local tips were great/thoughtful. This stay was exactly what I needed.

  • Cozy, cute, and super quiet place. Host answered messages promptly, was there to greet me, and provided all kinds of helpful information. Perfect spot for a weekend getaway with quiet time and beautiful trails and mountain roads all around. P.S.: There is a train that goes by a few times a day, but it didn't bother me by the second night. It might wake up someone with very light sleep.

Sweet studio close to downtown and old town Auburn. It has Tahoe style decor and is only 1 hour from Lake Tahoe. We are in a quiet neighborhood off Auburn Ravine Road close to everything. We are 7 minutes from downtown and in between highway 49 and highway 80. There is so much to do around here, we are a few minutes from breweries and wineries. We have hiking in the canyon, around Lakes, by the River and parks. We have a list of many great restaurants near by and a great music community.
This is the mountain room studio named for the decor and it has a private entrance, sweet log mountain bed, plenty of space to move around. It has a private patio too. We are close to both old town and downtown Auburn. There is an electric heater that looks like a fireplace. A small table and chairs to enjoy “take out” at one of our many local restaurants. We provide coffee and a bowl of fruit for your morning breakfast. There is a small fridge and microwave in the room. There is a hot tub on the back deck that is shared.
Its a 7 minute drive to downtown and historic Old Town Auburn. There are about 4 breweries within a short drive from the house. Crooked Lane is the closest, 4 minutes. There are a bunch of great restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive. My house is on a coeur du sac. There are hiking trails all around us. Its only an hour from nearest ski resort. And 1 hour, 15 minutes from Tahoe City. Grass Valley and Nevada City is only 30 minutes off hwy 49. Sacramento is also only 30 minutes away.

This updated 1943 garage apartment is set in a quiet residential neighborhood steps away from the American River Canyon trails, including the Western States 100 trail, and quaint downtown Auburn. This dollhouse apartment was recently remodeled, but still retains much of its vintage charm.
An exterior iron spiral staircase leads you to the front door of this modest cozy second story small three room apartment. From the stoop and many of the windows you can see peekaboo local canyon views. The kitchen is vintage 1940s. It has three windows, a table with two chairs, a range, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. The kitchen is well stocked, and includes complimentary coffee, tea and a small assortment of spices. The bedroom, also the main room, has three windows, one on each side of the room. It is furnished with a queen sized bed as well as Pottery Barn nightstands and bench. The bathroom is very small, but serviceable. All linens are 100% cotton. The bedroom and kitchen have solid bamboo floors, and the bathroom has tile floors and shower. There is no TV in the apartment. Guests are welcome to use the outdoor barbecue and garden spaces.
The apartment is located in a quiet residential neighborhood walking distance from American River Canyon trails as well as downtown Auburn restaurants, theaters, shopping, etc. Being so close to the canyon, there is occasionally wildlife that ambles our way as well ultra runners, hikers, and cyclists. You may also hear the nostalgic sound of the train whistle during your stay.

The kitchen is great and well stocked with pots and pans so you shouldn’t need to bring anything plus Mary offers to share hers if there’s anything extra you might need. It overlooks the back stone patio which is lovely in itself. We saw many birds flying about and even some humming birds! The close location to Auburn was ideal. Two words for Mary’s Place......simply delightful! Brian & Teresa

Welcome to the Cottage on the Farm! Enjoy a private getaway, but still be close to everything! 45 minutes from Boreal Ski Resort, 90 minutes from Tahoe or the Napa Valley, and only 2 1/2 hours from San Francisco, whatever you like to do, the Cottage is a perfect home base. Whether you like skiing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, wine tasting or antique shopping, or just relaxing, you have come to the right area.
For years our friends have enjoyed visiting in the cottage, and they have encouraged us to share it with you! The cottage has been newly refurbished--with everything! Brand new deluxe queen size bed with cozy bedding, table and chairs that look out the french doors on the property. Futon that can sleep two. There's also a small desk. There is no TV, but you can stream movies or videos on your device. Kitchen area has fridge, microwave, hotplate, large toaster oven, crock-pot, electric skillet, rice cooker, blender, spices, utensils and more. We supply coffee, tea, creamer, sugar and small snacks for your convenience. If you need a special ingredient, just ask. We have a pretty well-stocked kitchen in the main house. There is also an outside cooking area, with a BBQ and 2 burner propane stove. Propane heat will keep you toasty in cold weather. There is also a swamp cooler and fans for when the weather heats up. Our property is a mini farm, so there are some things to be aware of. There is an unfenced pond on the property, so we don't recommend bringing small children. Infants are ok, but toddlers are sometimes hard to keep track of! There is a washer and dryer on the mud porch of the main house that you are welcome to use if necessary.
