  • Was a beautiful stay! The cows would come up to the front porch in the morning, like an experience ive never had before. We definitely would recommend! Amazing hospitality :)

  • Great farm house on a beautiful property with views! Good for kids. Good value. Easy check in. Limited dishes and amenities (smaller size fridge, no Pyrex, no bbq) for cooking big family style meals. I would stay again!

  • The Shiner hillside guest house was a quaint little rustic farmhouse, it was peaceful and quiet and had everything we needed. I would recommend.

Relax in front of the rock fireplace on chilly nights or around the outside firepit. We are situated on a 5 acre farm. Our cattle graze beside the guests house. Our horses are also visible from the porch. The guest house has a complete kitchen and there is also a gas grill on the porch for grilling. Some guests prefer to cook on the fire pit. Because of the property lay out we rarely see or interact with guests. We are in the country. Although we have neighbors they are over an acre away from us. No public transportation. • We loved staying at Pauletta’s. The decor and wood furnishings created such a cozy cabin feeling. The bed was really comfortable and the jacuzzi bathtub was a nice bonus! Pauletta even had some delicious apple bread waiting for us when we arrived. Bring some bubble bath, wine, and a book and enjoy the peace and quiet. She allowed our Great Dane to stay as well! He had a great time playing in the fenced yard and watching the cows and horses. We can’t wait to say again!

    Ashleigh2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint cabin- perfect for a getaway from the nearby cities. We loved all of the personal touches within the cabin. We also loved that it was pet friendly with a fenced in yard for our pup!

    Andrea2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Pauletta leaves no stone unturned when it comes to staying at her (and DJ’s) place. The “barndo” hits all the high points of a country stay with modern amenities. It’s in the country and so close to Shiner that you won’t miss a thing you don’t want to miss. And she has a complete list of local small town attractions.

    Nelson2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This little house was awesome. Me and some buddies wanted to go to the Shiner brewery and enjoy a night in the country and this place was perfect! Everything you need is provided and the fire pit was an added bonus. I would suggest this place to anyone!

Our 1951 bungalow in the heart of Shiner, Texas will make you feel like a local the moment you step through the door. It has been in our family for nearly 40 years and is just steps from Welhausen Park, historic downtown Shiner, the Spoetzl Brewery and the beautiful Saint Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. We hope you will enjoy our little piece of "the cleanest little city in Texas." Welcome home.
The Barta Bungalow has two equal-sized bedrooms equipped with queen-sized beds. There is one full bathroom in the middle of the house. There is ample space for hanging clothes in the closet, as well as several shelves for folded items. Additionally, the bathroom has tons of extra storage space on empty shelves behind the door. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need to prepare your own meals. And, yes, there's a blender, a coffee grinder, coffee maker and coffee. The bathroom should have nearly everything you need: Towels, soaps, essentials, hair dryer, even make-up wipes.
The heart of Shiner is filled with pecan tree-lined streets and feels like you've been transported back in time. Walk to a nearby coffee shop, grocery store, restaurant or the brewery, and enjoy taking it slow.
  • My sister and our two young kids stayed in the bungalow. We found the house comfortable and offered everything we needed. The added touch of Shiner beer in the fridge is great. The hospitality of their local contact, Cheryl, was second to none. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Shiner.

  • This was a great find. I had everything I could hope for. This was the best Air B&B experience I have had. No on thing went wrong and everything was thought out to make it feel as if it was my place. Thanks for all the thought that went into making this a perfect stay.

    Diahn2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Chad and Kori's home was perfect for what I needed. The beer in the fridge was a nice added touch. I will def stay here again when I'm in the area!

  • Excellent location and great value. Wonderful experience.

    Robert2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Chad and Kori's house is a great place to unwind after attending fun events in Shiner and surrounding communities. Be sure and listen to the Czech music played on the local radio station (94.3 FM) M-F 10-noon and Sat-Sun noon-1. Heard it the first time playing in Parker's Building Supply store. Relax and enjoy Shiner while staying in a very comfortable home!

    Sara2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The place was well equipped and had all the amenities needed for summer in central Texas - excellent air conditioning and complimentary Shiner Bock in the refrigerator! When I return to the area in a few months I will certainly stay here again.

    Greg2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Chad and Kori's place was wonderful. I was in Shiner on business and the house had everything I needed. It even came stocked with breakfast, coffee, and beer! The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was great to cook in. I wouldn't recommend staying anywhere else in Shiner other than here.

  • What an amazing location and experience. Our hosts went above and beyond to make our experience pleasant and enjoyable. Thank you for allowing us to look into and participate in your life. We will definitely share the treasure you created with our friends. We are grateful for all the fun!

  • Very nice, modern and beautifully decorated place out in a country. Wow, we didn't expect to find a stylish and comfortable place far out from a city that has everything, it's literally a home away from home and much more. So many thoughtful and nice touches throughout the home. Great appliances, plenty of plates, cups, utensils, spice, outdoor shower and the best part, the hosts and the animals. Marty and James are such gracious and kind hosts. Very friendly and wonderful people. Their farm animals also make this place so special. The scenery is gorgeous and peaceful. A pure bliss here.

    Tw2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the Byrds Nest was a magical experience. Shiner is a small town, and the location of stay is about 2 miles outside of that so it gives you enough distance to enjoy the texas country experience. The animals at the location are a great experience, and the hosts were perfect at making us feel right at home. We felt like we were part of their family without any intrusion. Will definitely come again for another Texas Country Style getaway.

  • Such a cute little place to stay! They are very friendly and work so hard to make your stay enjoyable!

    Nathan2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely condo on a beautiful piece of land. The three dogs, farm animals, and the owners hospitality make it extra special.

    Elizabeth2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed 1 night and we enjoyed everything about our stay. The animals were fun to pet and the dogs cuddled with us next to the fire at night. The place was very well kept and clean, we plan on returning, next time for a longer stay.

    Oscar2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far my best AirBNB stay to date! The space was beautifully updated and very clean (no worries of my toddler crawling all around), and Marty's family could not have been more accommodating. They greeted us with smiles when we arrived on Christmas day, and continued to interact with us throughout our stay. We even got together in the evenings to play music around a campfire. And don't forget about the animals - dogs (my favorites), goats (including a very cute baby), turkeys, peacocks, bunnies, chickens -- it's practically a petting zoo! All very friendly and fun. And it's all within a very quiet, peaceful setting that is so remote you can see the Milky Way in the night sky. Highly recommend, we will definitely be back when we are in town to visit family again!

  • The host was fantastic! She communicated with us and gave us lots of local tips/ places to go. The house was beautiful! Sitting on the porch at night was wonderful. It’s an very nice place. The bath robes were a little better plus in the house. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back to this house again! Thank you Jess so much!

  • Expect a well taken care of, very clean, working EVERYTHING, hot water, well lit, cozy yet spacious, well stocked with extras, and quick response from hosts.

    Brenda2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We were a group of ladies from Plano’s Garden Club in town to tour the painted Churches. My experience with Jess was extraordinary, from booking, questions and recommendations. I can’t say enough about how exquisite the property is. Suffice it to say that the first 20 minutes were spent wandering the house, exclaiming how cute something was, how the host thought of everything, and that they wanted to just live there. Pictures filled a shared album! Quality antiques furnish a superb restoration. Our linens, robes and towels were top of the line. The house was also state of the art with technology! A “Nest” controlled the temperature and a programmable lock was on the door. (Huge umbrellas in case it rained!). One guest was a light sleeper and a train runs through town at night. We found earplugs for her in the cabinet! There is a very nice yard that we didn’t use. All was immaculate!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your home. Our family really felt at home away from home for Christmas. Everything was perfect and comfy. You can really feel all the love and attention to detail that you put into this home. Love the comfy beddings and pillows. We wanted for nothing. Everything we needed was there. We will definitely stay again next time visiting our parents in Schulenburg.

    Peter2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really cute house with great furnishings, you can tell the owners put a lot of thought into decorating. I was in town for a wedding in Flatonia and this house was a great base for all of the wedding activities. If I find myself in this area again, I would definitely stay there.

An inviting, comfortable, nostalgic, and unique lodging, event, and retail venue.
This home is located in a historic cotton gin house, built in the late 1800’s, just north of Hallettsville’s downtown square. The home has been in our family for decades. My husband and I purchased the home in 2010 and renovated and restored it to it’s original state.
Fabulous little neighborhood within walking distance from our downtown area and our city park.

  • Chill place in the country. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Nice place. Lots of cows. My dog had a blast. If u bring a pet, be prepared to bath them. It’s a farm and they may have fun in the stinkier side of what that entails. Also, if u let them out and suddenly you can’t find them, text the owner...they may be at the main house. Internet is intermittent, it’s the country. Washer and dryer work, though the washer shakes the house Bc it’s balance is off. Lol it’s the country. It works and the place was nice and relaxing.

  • The house and the ranch are amazing! We really loved it. We knew the small owners dog, who enjoyed walk with us :) Fortunately for us, the house have A/C and extra blankets because the weather turns cold after some sunny and warm days. David always reply the messages and the questions quickly and we met him personally.

    Viviana2019-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Do not hesitate, this place is very nice. The kolaches and fruit was a great touch to a beautiful place. David and his family have put a lot of effort with all the furnishings. We will be back the next time we plan a stay in Shiner.

  • We had a wonderful Valentines Weekend in Shiner, TX- David’s Barndominium was extremely Clean & Nice. Very peaceful & quiet. The accommodations were as stated & David went over & above to make us feel welcome & comfortable. He was great with responses & gave us wonderful ideas for restaurants & other places to visit. I can’t recommend this place enough! Karen & Larry 2/14/19

Chicken Lovers welcomed. Chick-Inn Coop offers our newly renovated country barn filled with chicks & charm!
One private bedroom w/king size bed & twin daybed, double trundle & an antique full size Murphy bed sleeping accommodations.
Long winding country roads right in the middle of a hay pasture, top of the hill with beautiful views!
  • Before arriving, go into town and get what you need, because once you arrive, you'll want to experience the peacefulness and serenity to the fullest. It was like I was 5 again on my dad's farm. The entire experience was amazing. I would meditate at the pond in the afternoon and it was exactly what we all needed during this crazy time. The animals became our friends and were a part of our daily walks. They provided plenty if things for the kids to do and even taught them new things about farm life. I have stayed at numerous airbnb locations and have always needed a pan or a kitchen gadget that wasn't available. You will never need or want for anything at this location. The Byrd's have thought of everything! I hope to make it out again very soon. Hopefully this virus will pass over sooner rather than later. God bless! 🧿

The Otto house is walking distance from downtown Schulenburg and has a cozy, quaint feel. The house has 2 bedrooms, one with a full bed and the other a queen, along with a futon in the living room. We currently do not have a TV or Wifi, but what better way to get away from the bustle of everyday life and enjoy the peace and quiet of small town life.
  • Perfect place to experience small town living. Cute, clean and quiet and the hosts recommendations were spot on for making our stay even. Ire enjoyable.

    Melissa2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here despite the lack of wifi! We picked this airbnb because of the location and the pet friendly space. Our dog loved the backyard, but since she is a curious pup we had to go out with her to make sure she didn't break out. We got married at sengelmann hall and this airbnb was within walking distance and made the weekend so much easier! Laurie was also very accommodating and friendly and I'd recommend her airbnb to everyone!

  • This place was so cute and charming. It was the perfect size for my wedding night. I wish the shower/bathroom was a tad bigger but it was perfectly fine for a short stay. The house is cutely decorated and was in walking distance to the church I was getting married at and the downtown area.

The ranch is also about 10 miles away from the historic town of Shiner, Texas, home of the Spoetzl Brewery and the infamous Shiner Beer. We are also 45 mins. from Splashway Water Park in Sheridan, TX.
  • We had the most amazing time at the bunkhouse! It was so cozy and the view was incredible! We caught lots of bass in the fishing ponds and had a great time on the canoes. The dogs were also an awesome touch to top it off, they stayed by our sides and were the best tour guides around the ranch. The crawfish boil with everyone was also a great final touch to an amazing weekend! Thanks for having us we can’t wait to come back!

  • What a great weekend. This place was everything that we wanted. Clean and quiet. 10 people and 1 bathroom yet it worked out great. A chance to unwind and connect with family and friends. Even grumpy teenagers didn’t stop smiling the whole time. We are already planning out next visit.

    Elizabeth2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Booked this for my fiance and his groomsmen the night before our wedding and they wouldn't stop talking about how wonderful it was and the scenery! I got to go by and it was so breath taking! The place was so clean and very well taken care of! The dogs are sweet as can be and I love how the housing is far from the main road! Would definitely recommend!

  • With personal touches like historical information on the building, a note of welcome, and complimentary refreshments, the Ling Cottage was a warm and memorable stay for a weekend excursion. Catherine met us in the main hotel next door and gave us an in person tour and made sure we had everything we needed. She made sure to have an early breakfast for the Shiner Beer Run participants. Relax and recharge on 200+ tranquil acres, family owned since 1871! Cows, horses, abundant wildlife, plus amazing views of the tank from wrap-around porches will make your visit unforgettable. Our renovated farmhouse is sparkling clean and sanitized, and cozy and welcoming, complete with BBQ pit & outdoor dining - perfect for family meals. For special occasions, our on-site chefs, Callisto Culinary, can prepare a delicious meal for you and your guests - everything from comfort food to gourmet!
A renovated farmhouse, originally built over 100 years ago and relocated here. With shiplap walls and ceiling, and longleaf pine floors, this vintage house had old Czech newspapers used as insulation in the attic. The house has one large bedroom on the first floor and a fun "flop room" upstairs in the finished attic, with lower ceiling, perfect for a slumber party, crash spot or kids space, with multiple beds. Great space for those who are vertically challenged! Again, note that there is no bathroom upstairs and the ceilings are lower as it is a renovated attic space. There are 1 1/2 bathrooms. The full bath in the master bedroom has a soaking tub and a separate shower. The wrap around porch (with the requisite swing!) is a great place to enjoy coffee in the morning or watch the sunset in the evening. A great couple’s get-away!! We are far from city lights, so the stars are simply incredible on a clear night. Twin Oaks Ranch also has a new refined rustic Event Center with a full commercial kitchen, hosting intimate weddings of up to 125 people, house concerts and themed dinners with heavenly dining provided by the award winning Chefs of Callisto Culinary. It’s a beautiful private space in the country with indoor and outdoor seating, large covered porches overlooking the surrounding woods, a beautiful two-way fireplace, ceremony oak arch, and a professional sound system. There is also a beer garden deck tucked under the trees, the perfect shady spot for appetizers and socializing on a hot day. The Guest House at Twin Oaks Ranch is available for the Bridal Suite and lodging for the newlyweds after the festivities conclude. If you are a foodie looking for a beautiful country location for your wedding, reception, party or reunion, this is the perfect spot! From their commercial kitchen, Chefs Michael and Emily Castillo will create an exceptional culinary experience to delight you and your guest! Services available include plated dinners, buffet and family style meals, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts (and cakes!).
We are located centrally between Houston, Austin & San Antonio - easy day trips from the Ranch. Also, the surrounding communities are wonderful and each have their own culture and charm. The local wineries (Majek Vineyard - Lynn & Randy Majek are wonderful!, Whistling Duck Winery, and Blue Mule Winery) are fun to visit, and the Painted Churches are simply beautiful. A beer joint tour is always a hoot too. The Spoetzel Brewery, home of Shiner beer, has tours and a tasting room with all things Shiner. Check their hours before you go. Bluestem is a treasure - bakery, artisianal Texas gifts, wine, grass fed beef and pork, etc! A must see! West of Shiner. Antiques, Arts and Beer is fun stop to explore. Splashway Water park is in nearby Sheridan - fun for the whole family. “Found” in Hallettsville is great for treasure hunting and Tillie’s Cafe in Schulenburg is a great spot for coffee and fresh banana bread or a yummy sandwich. Lots of small town things to do, or just simply enjoy the ranch - fish, explore the woods, play games, build a bonfire for s’mores, watch for shooting stars! - It’s a little piece of heaven out here!
  • My husband and I were looking forward to a relaxing few days out in the country. We found paradise right here in Texas! If a distinction higher than a SUPER HOST is created April will be the benchmark. Communication was easy and swift about all things. The weather report was rainy and some long awaited road work was to begin so she even gave us the option of opting out of our stay. We are so glad we did not take her up on the offer! As soon as we opened the door to this cozy ranch house we felt at home. This home is SPOTLESS and so fully equipped all we really needed to bring were our clothes. A huge wrap around porch encircles the house. Chairs, a dining table and a most enticing porch swing become your outdoor sanctuary. The master bed is very comfortable. Another couple joined us for a few days and stayed in the upstairs loft and said the same about the bed upstairs. As stated in the homes description, the upstairs loft is just that. It is extra reclaimed attic space with several beds. Perfect for children or adults that don't mind a low ceiling. Both toilets are downstairs so take that into account as well. A half bath is adjacent to the kitchen and a full bath with double sinks, tub, shower stall and commode area are ensuite to the master bedroom. The kitchen and pantry are well equipped for any culinary skills you wish to use. A propane Weber grill is available on the back porch as well. The breakfast room looks out onto the property where you can enjoy watching all the wonderful ranch life or playing a rousing game of your choice. We spent some very relaxing days and nights in this wonderful home. We not only walked the property but were given the use of April and Craigs six person Viking utility vehicle to roam the acreage as well. It is a working ranch so horses, cows and the three ranch dogs are never far away. We brought our dog as well. All the dogs had great fun with their own visiting and running around outside. There a treats for the horses if you want a more up close and personal encounter with them! As evening fell we made fires in the wood burning stove in the living room that kept us warm and toasty on a cold winters night. As the days went on the weather cleared and we enjoyed the splendor of the big and bright stars of the night, deep in the heart of Texas! If you are looking for a relaxing get away in a lovely ranch home in a small Texas town with hosts that have hearts as big as Texas you have come to the right place! Next my grandchildren will have to come and try their skills in the fishing pond as well! Thank you April and Craig ~ this is just what we needed!

    Catherine2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home on the inside, but the best part of our trip was sitting on the porch swing relaxing. Our teenagers loved the ranch dogs and watching the horses and cattle graze past. So much Texas hospitality. Thank you!

    Bridget2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had an amazing time at the ranch. The house is goals!!! The property is picturesque and relaxing. The location right off 77 between Hallettsville and Schulenburg is perfect. I can’t say enough good things. I never write Airbnb reviews but I made it a point to do one for this property.

    Brittany2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place to stay for visiting the area or just relaxing. Very attentive hosts and a perfect setting for “checking out.” Our 3 boys took over the upstairs while we enjoyed the comfort of the first floor. Sounds trivial but it made a huge difference and a great weekend getaway.

    Missy2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place was even better than what we were expecting and the hosts were extremely accommodating and helpful. We could not have hoped for a better place to stay for coming out of town for a wedding and would love to stay there again! Would recommend 100%!

    Clémence2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Relaxing time in a beautiful setting! The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. The hosts go above and beyond with providing amenities / quick & easy communication. It was as comfortable as being in your own home!

    Heidi2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Where to begin! The guest house was everything we needed and more. The hosts have simply thought of everything! The atmosphere screams relaxation and the front porch swing demands to be sat on while the ranch pups play at your feet. We enjoyed the local wineries and food joints, and especially loved the close proximity to the Spoetzl Brewery. We cannot wait to return for another visit to this slice of heaven!

  • 5 stars hands down! Serene, stunning rural Texas getaway. We loved the ambience of the pool & hot tub area - lights, sound system, etc. Every member of our family had something to do and loved the experience, from grandma to toddler. Great place to get away with family or friends. The home is truly fully furnished - we cooked a number of meals for our group of 15 and didn’t lack a thing in the kitchen. Even found cornstarch in the cabinet when I realized we forgot to bring ours. :) Andy was a great host - excellent & prompt communicator, friendly, and quick to respond. Very accommodating. Highly recommend.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle. With no lights or noise to distract the night sky was nothing short of spectacular.

  • The place was great. Lots of room inside and out. The place was clean and everyone enjoyed being there; the parents, the friends, my wife, son, myself and two dogs. Warmer weather would have seen us in the pool, but we were so happy to just hang on the patio and play Cornhole that we decided not to venture into town.

  • We had a great stay at Michael's ranch! The outdoor patio/pool area is absolutely beautiful and where we spent most of our time. He was great with communicating with me with last minute issues and questions as well.

  • This place is perfect for all types of gatherings! My daughter had her 10th birthday glamping with some girls and they had the best time! They spent most time outdoors! Such a great atmosphere! Definitely will be booking again!

  • Our family spent the Thanksgiving Holiday at The Branch. Three generations thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the place. Kids, teens, and adults loved the pool table, big screen TV, and wide open spaces to tramp around. The whole family enjoyed evenings around the firepit and great spaces for group games in the common areas. Pool and hot tub are fabulous. The kitchen provided plenty of room for prepping, cooking and serving our Thanksgiving feast. There was also lots of seating for our big group for dinner. The setting is so beautiful and peaceful. All the creative touches were fun to discover and enjoy. Such a great place for so many activities and groups. It is much bigger than it appears online. Michael was great to work with before, during and after our stay. His response time was immediate and manner was helpful. Every family member is ready to schedule a time to be there together again. We are grateful for the memories we were able to create at this special place.

  • This place is beautiful. Well decorated and an entire ranch to yourself. We wanted to get away from the city as we celebrated my mother’s birthday with the family. We had a very relaxed and pleasant experience. Michael is great in his response time and the ranch is well kept. I’d definitely come back and enjoy the stars at night next to the beautiful fire pit/pool/hot tub. The living area is huge and there are plenty of activities to do including a pool table. 10/10 recommended Thanks for sharing your getaway Michael. -Neal

  • Wonderful place. Great for events with family or friends. Have enough number of rooms/beds to accommodate a larger group. Just one thing which could have made this place even better is that the water in the house had a weird smell to it as if it was being mixed with sewage line.
