Do you want to get away for some peace and quiet, attend a function or one of the many events in the area, visit Macedon Ranges wineries or are you undertaking business in the district? We offer comfortable and affordable accommodation. Close to conference centers, wineries and events/attractions. If we don't have any guests before or after your stay check in/out time can be extended. Thanks for looking. Colin and Trudi
Your accommodation is a self-contained unit on 13 acres of land 600m from Lancefield. It has a main bedroom with ensuite and reading area. There is a separate lounge room with TV/DVD. The separate kitchen/dining area has a microwave, gas cooktop, large fridge, toaster and coffee making facilities. It is air conditioned to keep you comfortable no matter what the season. It was originally a 2 bedroom flat so plenty of room. In some navigation systems ( 20%) you will be directed to the wrong address. It is 600m on the right from Lancefield service station traveling towards Kilmore. We will send a map when you book in.
Enjoy a walk along the wide tree lined Main St and grab a great coffee or something to eat. If you would like to get a bit of exercise have a walk around Lancefield Park or take a stroll down the walking track that runs between Lancefield and Romsey (It’s about 8km to Romsey). Alternately a 15-minute drive will take you to Hanging Rock, Woodend and the north side of Mt Macedon. The same driving time to the north will take you through the granite hills to Tooborac. To the east you will find the growing town of Kilmore. If you are not sure on directions and would like to visit any of the many attractions, we will loan you a portable navigation device to help you find your way.
  • A gem of a place, close to everything but tucked away in a peaceful and private location. The space is clean and spacious with good amenities for self catering, although the bakery and the pub at Lancefield are good eating out options. Checking in and out was easy and Trudi and Colin were very welcoming. And so were the two beautiful horses! Highly recommended, we would love to come back.

  • Just needed a night off and this place popped up and looked ideal, booked it late afternoon and communication was great, got there and everything was perfect, couldn’t have been better, the flat is fantastic, comfortable bed and pitch black bedroom at night (something I like a lot), nice kitchen, comfortable couch and the resident horses are quite friendly (take a bag of apples and make a couple of friends) I loved this place and I will be back for a longer stay soon..

    Craig2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Trudi was lovely... Enjoyed the stay

  • Clean little bungalow great location for trips to hanging rock. Trudi and Colin are awesome. Best hosts ever

    Danielle2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Well, this little gem of a place was an absolute pleasure to stay in! A quaint little jockey's quarters that has been revamped into a lovely self-contained granny flat. What's more, the hospitality provided by Colin and Trudi was exceptional. Colin went above and beyond in his hosting duties and we were so incredibly grateful. The resident horses coming to the fence for a pat was a wonderful highlight. Thank you so very much for a lovely stay! P.s - to others travelling to the area, there is really no public transport or Uber. However, the flat is within walking distance of the local pub and I can recommend their hot chips!

Built in 1857 and now a historical landmark, the old schoolhouse has been lovingly restored and tastefully decorated to be a peaceful and private escape for two. Breakfast provisions provided. https://www.rochfordschoolhouse.com/
The schoolhouse has retained many of its original features including grand fireplace, high windows and soaring vaulted ceiling. A modern, sun-filled gallery includes breakfast room and bathroom with stone walled shower and amenities.
A short 60 minute scenic drive from Melbourne, Rochford is nestled in between the towns of Lancefield, Woodend and Romsey in the heart of Macedon Ranges wine country. Nearby towns play host to local farmers’ markets.
  • We totally loved this place. It looked exactly as advertised and every little detail was taken care of, from freshly picked veggies and fresh flowers, a phone charger by the bed. The fireplace was lovely and the hosts very helpful and responsive in advance of our booking. We were sorry to leave and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a private getaway.

  • What an amazing place, full of thoughtful touches, it was better then staying at a 5* hotel. They really have thought of everything, especially with the bits provided for breakfast, with homemade bread and all the provisions to cook up whatever you want. I’ve asked for the recipe for Sophie’s chocolate slices - they were phenomenal!

    Clare2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Sophie’s school house for my parents Christmas present and they absolutely loved it! They said they had the most wonderful stay and absolutely loved the interior of the school house and all the small touches! They really enjoyed their beautiful breakfast and homemade bread! A great night away with beautiful surrounds. Thanks for having them Sophie!

  • Veronica is a great host. I highly recommend to stay in her property. She is super sweet and detail oriented. The place is beautiful, the views, the property... the nice touches in every corner of the house even the dogs are friendly. I will be back for sure.

  • Amazing getaway. Everything you need for a relaxing weekend away.

    Joel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Firstly we would like to thank Veronica for her hospitality. From the moment I had booked in she was nothing but friendly and helpful. The Airbnb itself was sparkling clean and much more than what we expected. The scenery of the farm and it's surroundings were breath taking, which made you want to never close the blinds. Veronica made sure that our stay was special and was always there if we needed help or even just a chat, however she also endeavored to provide us with privacy, which made us feel even more at home. I wish we could have stayed longer to see the rest of the farm, as well as sit and pat the 2 friendly dogs that escorted us in. We look forward to the next time we are able to stay again, only question is 'Wren' Thank you again for everything - Chris

    Chris2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is beautiful and tranquil space to relax and unwind in. Veronica is a wonderful host, her communication is fantastic and the extra touches along with her attention to detail make this space somewhere very special. I would highly recommend staying at Fellcroft Farm, it was just amazing.

    Leah2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Still can’t get over how amazing the place was and Veronica is such an amazing woman. She has done a great job perfecting the place and how she makes her guests feels like home and family. We appreciated things that she’s done for us from giving us tips where to go in macedon ranges to (most especially) giving me a birthday card and a birthday muffin. We loved her place sooooo much that we have started to plan our trip back there as soon as we got home. We shall see you soon Veronica xx

  • The absolute best from the absolute best. Just wow! I’m so grateful I stumbled across this beautiful Farm Stay. Veronica has gone above and beyond with these two amazing stays. Her hospitality and genuine care and interest for her guests is better than I’ve ever experienced. It was my partner’s birthday weekend and we were greeted with a homemade cake and birthday card. It’s intimate but not invasive. Every finishing touch in the space is well thought out. It truly looks like it’s been put together by someone who has studied interior design for years. The views are peaceful and the air is fresh. We will DEFINITELY be back. Veronica is now on speed dial for whenever we need an escape from reality. Thank you Veronica. We felt truly humble and blessed to be able to meet you and experience your beautiful Kingfisher.

    Malory2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful gem outside the hustle and bustle. Incredible views, beautifully designed and well built cabin - every single touch and detail has been thought about. An absolute peaceful sanctuary surrounded by gorgeous scenery, animals and nature. As for Veronica - what an amazing host! Veronica went above and beyond the entire time to make sure we were comfortable, relaxing, happy and at peace. Thanks for creating such a sanctuary for people, can’t wait to come back again!

Set on 50 acres of farmland, this unique property boasts 2 large lakes, acres of beautifully designed gardens, abundance of wildlife and a serene and peaceful ambience. Your hosts, Ann & Kevin live in the main house, about 100 metres from the lake-side cottage and are available if you needs us, or can be very discreet. You have free access to all of the property, with lovely walks and horses to interact with. The property is 5 min from Hanging Rock and 15 mins from Kyneton, and Woodend.
  • The cottage is absolutely idyllic, every room having it's own charm. There's honestly not a nook in this house that you don't want to spend time in. As beautifully as it presents itself in the photos, I was blown away to see it in person. It get's a lot of natural sunlight as there are many windows, making each room (bathroom included) having a beautiful view out to the lake or the stunning gardens. Ann was fantastic, so welcoming and easy to communicate with, and really went above and beyond. The space was extremely spacious, hosting and sleeping eight of us. We used the fireplace which made the cold night so beautiful and cosy. We watched the sunrise over the lake in the morning. The only thing we wished we could change was that we only stayed for one night!! Highly recommend for a group trip or a luxurious and spacey getaway with a couple of people. Would love to come back soon!!

  • My wife and I stayed at the property for a long weekend. The space was perfect for us. The bread and milk supplied were very handy, and the fresh cut flowers in the room were a thoughtful touch. Lots of kitchen amenities were provided so we were able to cook some meals which was great. And the view was lovely. Great value accommodation if you're staying in the area.

  • Peter and Linda are very friendly hosts, and like to interact. We only had a one night stay, however it suited our needs. Would recommend to others.

    Cheryl2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay. I was working in the area room was perfect. Spotless big tv warm and welcoming

    Hayden2019-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend Linda and Peter's quiet and comfortable airBNB. I didn't really know what to expect was was pleasantly surprised at the level of comfort and cleanliness. Everything you need is there to get on with everything. I stayed while my house was invaded by visitors and had to prepare for exams. I was able to study peacefully and without interruption and just around the corner from home if I needed to go and check up on them all. There were lots of creature comforts, the bed was super comfy. And whilst it is not a conventional space I found it ideal for my purposes. I wasn't disturbed, but that's not because the hosts are friendly, they are there if needed or happy to chat, but they understood I was studying and left me too it. The view out of the bedroom window is quite pretty too and it's close enough to the shops to hop in the car and grab anything you need and be back in under 5 mins. Highly recommend and will go back the next time I need to escape my wonderful but rowdy house guests during exams.

  • Jennine's place was one beautiful and stylish cottage that gave us a total luxury to enjoy the weekend away from the busy city living of Melbourne. The place was super clean and modern with amazing interior deco w lots of arty touch - even plates and cups were artist made and felt special using them;) The outside bath worked as a real treat and felt like we were in the hot spring under the stars. Bed was super comfy and everything we needed were there. The kitchen worked very well and we made a full use of it by baking yummy food all evening. And thanks Jennine for providing a full set of continental breakfast! The heater was surprisingly warm and effective for heating the whole place very quick and there was even a high tech floorheating in the bathroom! Communication with Jennine was efficient and fast. Overall, we really enjoyed the stay and was a perfect place for a special weekend away:) Thanks Jennine!

Our rustic house is set in bush and farmland with a quiet serenity. See kangaroo, wallaby, and cockatoos from the verandah and (sometimes) kookaburra, wombat and echidna if you walk quietly through the bush. Or just chat with the cows or watch the hops growing in season. Great vineyards nearby!

David was very kind in letting us book a night last minute, and was there to say hi when we arrived. We enjoyed waking up to goats clip-clipping on the veranda and the location was excellent. A lovely country getaway.

  • Dave's place was perfect for us and our dogs. The fully fenced house yard kept the dogs safely enclosed in a gorgeous country garden. House was spacious and comfortable. Great gourmet food options in nearby Kyneton was a drawcard. Loved the atmosphere and quiet of the farm.

  • Georgina and David’s place was more than we could ask for! The place was stylish with very modern amenities and absolutely sparkling clean! We really felt like we had escaped into the countryside on this amazing property. David and Georgina were very hospitable, wonderfully welcoming and were ready to help with anything we needed! Rarely ever does an Airbnb exceed my expectations, but this was an outstanding exception- they’ve set the bar high.

    Elysia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Georgina and David have put together a great experience at Goldie Views, the location is secluded and quiet providing great views and of the ranges. The land is huge providing opportunities to walk around the forest/woodland behind the barn, where you can see some wild animals if you’re lucky. The retreat is in between two towns and drivable distance of many, even providing chances for some great day trips if you have the time. Little touches put together by Georgina and David make the experience more memorable and the retreat is spacious and cosy at the same time. Would highly recommend for any couples looking to get away, especially from the city.

    Nick2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Georgina's and David's apartment is definitely the best place we stayed so far during our long years' experience of travel. It is well-thought-through, with many details such as the fireplace that looks so real, but is not and keeps the whole unit warm. The bathroom floor heating is a thing we loved in the morning as well as the two showers! The relaxing sofa, the huge TV screen, the very well equipped kitchen!!! And then there is this soooo comfortable bed (and we are really picky about beds!) and don't forget about the provided breakfast, produced by David and Georgina themselves. Two different jams, very highly recommendable muesli, the organic eggs, butter, milk, orange juice, etc. We loved it and they both take care to top up everything you need! We never met hosts that made you feel welcome in such a sweet way, thinking of each and everything. A bowl with freshly picked raspberries was waiting for us on the counter of the kitchen with a letter beside it welcoming us. Both hosts are such nice and easy-going people. David showed us how to walk around on their land and even bothered taking his time in the evening to help us meet kangaroos in the evening. The view from their balcony is breathtaking and has a huge roof to shelter you from wind and rain. This accommodation is worth staying there for more than a weekend!! The only thing we regretted: Leaving the place after five very interesting days while feeling absolutely refreshed.

    Judith2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very accommodating well thought out and elegant modern barn stay. Great views of rolling hills above the lake. Georgina and David are open to share there home grown treats from there gardens and orchard. Will not disappoint.

  • Our stay at Jackie’s place was perfect. She kindly allowed us an early check in and a late check out. Check in was very easy and she communicated well with us throughout. The house is so comfortable and very clean with everything we required for our stay. The little touches like the jigsaws, inflatables for the pool and toiletries in the shower were great. The bed was very comfortable. Would definitely recommend staying here and we will be back if we have the chance.

  • We booked for our bridal party to stay here the for the night as we wanted to be located close to the venue for our early start for wedding prep there the next morning. This place was perfect as it was 5 minutes from the venue with a laid back, country vibe that was perfect for (trying) to relax the night before the big day. Jakie was very responsive and accommodating at all times and flexible with our check in times. The house is perfect for large groups. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches, especially for the bride.

The perfect romantic getaway nestled in a valley of sweeping hills, this beautiful bluestone cottage demands relaxation. Beautiful furnishings in living space with working open fireplace, modern bathroom with shower, kitchen including kettle, toaster, stove and electric hotplates.
  • Walking in to Ellerslie Cottage, I immediately thought "oh wow, can I move in permanently?" The cottage is absolutely beautiful, with great facilities and amazing location. Taking walks amongst the expansive hills and resting in front of the open fireplace whilst sipping a large cup of tea was truly the best way to spend my week. But the best part about the experience was the small, and very considerate, touches that made the place feel like a home and not a hotel. There were fresh roses on the table, and the fire was already built. The bed was the softest and comfiest bed I have ever slept in, and was covered with an amazing wool blanket to help keep warm. There were up to date magazines around, board games, complimentary tea and coffee (and other breakfast stuff). And when my taxi didn't show up to pick me up on my last day, the owner drove me into town so I could catch my train. All in all, one of the best stays I've had at an airbnb. But, they are not joking about the no cell reception, so if you are going alone make sure to download loads of podcasts or audiobooks or whatever other entertainment you think you might need. It is, however, more than entertaining enough to sit on the porch with a glass of wine and watch the wildlife come out in the evening. Would recommend Ellerslie Cottage to anyone who asked me for a quiet place to get out of the city, and I'm guessing the other Flop House properties are gonna be just as great!

  • Lovely quiet and secluded spot, perfect for down time and relaxing. We were lucky to stay in peak daffodil season too, very romantic and beautiful grounds! Thanks for a lovely stay.

    Deborah2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in this remote little cabin was blissful. It was at first confronting to realise there was really no connection with the ‘real world’; hidden in a valley surrounded by empty farmland, no wifi, no cell coverage, no television or even speaker system. We passed time playing board games in front of the open fire, listening to the wireless radio and reading our books. A beautiful retreat in a very cute house. The bed was so comfortable and the setting was picturesque. Easy communication for checkin/ checkout. Highly recommended for an opportunity to truly disconnect and unwind.

  • This is such a lovely escape nest, truly in the country but not very far from so many destinations, large and small. We arrived in the rain and immediately felt welcome and cosy. The rooms are generously sized and offer a combination of outlook and refuge opportunities. Very comfy beds, incredible breakfast offerings and much time spent laughing around the kitchen table added up to a very special stay. Thank you Julia - you’ve created somewhere very special and true for your lucky guests.

  • Bobby’s Cottage was an absolute delight. It was such a cute little cottage which gorgeous vintage touches. The views are AMAZING! Sitting at the window bench on Sunday morning, sipping my coffee while gazing at the hay-filled hills (and spotting rabbits & water birds) made me dream of owning my own country cottage. The gorgeous sheds & out-buildings were lovely.

  • This cottage is very comfortable. We had 2 teenagers with us and they were very impressed- the wifi provision, electric blankets (it was 14 degrees on one of our days-beginning of January!) and classy bathroom were notable for them. Breakfast provisions were very welcome and we enjoyed the variety for different preferences.

  • What a gorgeous little getaway! We travelled in the middle of a heat wave and were a little nervous about how cool it would be inside but it was perfect. So full of character, it has everything you could need and more to be oh so comfy and feel at home. Clean and fresh, in a great little spot, we were planning our trip back before we had even left. We have a 20 month old and she was able to explore safely inside, had so much space to play and sleep. Really child friendly. Everything was so great! And Hanging Rock winery right around the corner, so good! Thank you, one of the most comfy trips we've taken!

Although we did have some trouble finding the place because it was pitch black when we got there so good idea to bring a torch. Waking up to seeing sheeps and cows was our favourite thing about Kerstin’s place. Would definately come back.

  • We loved our stay in Kerstin's beautiful home! We had such a restful time, and our pup, Nora, loved exploring the property. The views as the sunsets or a storm rolls in are incredible! We also loved the linen, and Kerstin's styling of the place just made for such a special time. We spent time in Kyneton (try the Squishy Minnie book shop), Trantham Falls, Blackhill Reserve, and local Farmer's Markets. A lovely weekend away! Thanks again, Kerstin.

Host Mary and husband Roy were very helpful in providing suggestions for local attractions, and very thoughtful in preparing our accommodation for our stay.

  • The Barn House at Mary's at Newham is a wonderful, mind-boggling, eclectic, interesting, quirky and slightly eccentric accommodation - but certainly has all the required comforts and modern facilities all contained in this unique, rustic old building. It was great to have two bathrooms/en-suites for the two bedrooms. It's located in a nice quiet rural setting well back off any roads. Mary is a very accommodating and helpful host. Would highly recommend, particularly for families with two or three children and/or for two couples.

They were happy to answer all my questions throughout, and it was so relaxing and lovely to be somewhere that’s dog friendly and really clean (a rare combination!). The olive grove is a really beautiful spot and the sunrise and sunset are amazing over the farm. Romsey is around 20 mins away for groceries and coffee, and the wineries are even closer. Thanks for making our city get away so relaxed. Absolutely loved it and we’ll definitely be back!

  • We have stayed in the area over two weekends per year, for sporting fixtures, and usually stay in local motels. As much as I enjoyed those stays however, they have never been better than the delightful cottage we booked at Bindley House. From its charm and character, a spotless bathroom (with spa), a pot-belly stove with lots of kindle, through to a well-appointed kitchen, we thought we had everything we needed, and that was until we delved into the fridge and found bacon and eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and bread and butter — in short, everything we needed to cook a substantial breakfast when we wanted it (something we’d never find in a motel). All of this was packaged with a beautiful bay window overlooking the pretty cottage garden. Congratulations Jenni — you have created a space that any other host that could only aspire to!

  • We had a wonderful few days at the stables. Although it was a last minute impulse trip, Mary was so quick to respond and very accommodating of us. The area is stunning and the farm property itself has had a lot of love put into the dry stone walls, sculptures and even the quirky gates which make it so interesting to wander around. The Stables accommodation was comfy for a family of 4 with everything we needed. We found the location to be central enough to be able to explore a number of towns in the ranges without having to spend too much time in the car. We’d be happy to stay here again.

  • We stayed at Mary's for a few days after Christmas. It's a beautiful place, spacious and spotlessly clean, and has everything you need. We stayed with our two young children and it was really suitable for kids. The location is great, with a stunning view of Hanging Rock from the farm, and it's an easy drive to Mt Macedon, Woodend or Kyneton. Mary was great to deal with - very pleasant and quick to respond. Would highly recommend for a few days as a family or couple.

  • A really wonderful stay with lovely hosts. The room was spotless and we loved the fresh chicken eggs in the fridge for us. We also appreciated the time you took out to show our kids the chickens and sheep. It's a beautiful place.

  • Had a great stay at Mary’s with the family. Lovely country atmosphere and a well equipped and tasteful cottage

    Nikita2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's place is wonderful. It's like going to stay in a Medieval village. The "stables" is cosy and comfortable, with a nice warm fire and a homely feel. Mary takes extra steps to ensure that your stay is comfortable and there was a basket of little goodies waiting for us on arrival which was lovely. What really sets Mary's place apart is that it is set among a labyrinth of stone walls, and other stone structures, (meticulously built over many years by Mary's husband, who is a skilled stone mason), and as you walk around the gardens' you feel as if you have been transported back to a Medieval village. Love it. This is the second time I have stayed here and I will be back again.

  • An absolutely stunning stay that you should definitely book. The grounds on which the house lives are incredible, and are home to a whole host of wildlife, which we loved observing from afar. The house itself is so beautiful, and will make for a memorable stay. Thank you so much to Emily and Tony; we had an amazing time at Alkoomi!

  • Lovely setting! A home away from home in a tranquil setting! Highly recommended!

    Sabine2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a beautiful property. Photos just don’t do it justice. Emily was extremely hospitable, and gave us plenty of instructions. Two days just wasn’t enough. Loved the surroundings, the kangaroos, the lake, the kitchen, the view. Loved waking up and having sun shining through the house. Loved everything everything. Such a special weekend.

    Basem2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house on a peaceful private land. We really enjoyed our weekend stay.

    Chen2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in this carefully made and maintained home! We came at Easter and didn’t even realise Macedon is in full Autumn festival BOOM during this time. My god, the trees! Astonishing. The lovely clean spaces, the comfy beds, thoughtful fireside nook, the blankets outside, the bread and fruit and cereal and flowers left for us, the luxe toiletries, the fast wifi, the generosity and TRUST of the pantry and teabags and so on was much appreciated. And so much focus seemed to be on sitting and enjoying the view. As it should be. We enjoyed exploring the lake and bushland with our 4yr old, and had several memorable fireside dinners with impeccable starry skies as a family. You’re around 20 mins from cafes etc at Macedon/Kyneton, but this was good impetus for us to just stay put, and not be so go-go-go. We live in a city with excellent food and cafes; out here we got to eat sausages under the Milky Way in total, magnificent peace. An A+ home, property and stay for our family of four.

    Zoe2019-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place - spectacular views from the bedrooms. Waking up to dozens of kangaroos jumping around the lake was amazing. Very clean, specious and great amenities! Would stay here again.
