  • Lovely timber lodge in beautiful rustic centre. Slightly quirky (is a converted spa facility) but had all necessary amenities and lots of charm

  • Cosy little cabin in Anne's beautiful garden with peaceful views out onto the field. Had everything we needed to cook our meals and comfy beds. Note that it is two single beds if coming as a couple which don't push together so well! But that was a minor thing in an otherwise v accomodating place. Thanks Anne for the walking tips too! Malou

The accommodation itself was a joy, it was cute and practical - had everything we could want and was a wonderful space for what we needed. Close enough to local towns but far enough removed to enjoy the peace and quiet. Anne was incredibly friendly and helpful and is a wonderful host. We highly recommend staying here, it's definitely worth it!

  • Emma went above and beyond to make our stay special. I stayed there the night before my wedding and Emma allowed us to have my hair and makeup artist join us in the morning. We were welcomed to lots of Christmas touches such as a lit up Christmas tree and mince pies! She even came round to give us a little extra present to help make my last night as a Miss more special. I would definitely stay here again. It had everything we needed.

    Maz2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn't fault our stay at Emma Jane's. Lovely accommodation with a stylish cosy country finish.. Emma's help and hospitality went way beyond our expectations and we would definitely recommend a stay here..

  • I stayed here for 5 nights with my husband and two boys (5 and 7) and we have had the most wonderful time! Emma went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and nothing was too much hassle! We were so impressed and happy with everything that we have chosen to come back for 5 weeks while we await completion date for our house move! Highly recommended!

    Alexandra2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time and the place is just so cosy and comfy that we could have spent the entire week there! Our kids were so happy as there are a lot of animals in the farm!

  • Emma was a lovely host and welcomed us warmly, showed us around and had provided snacks and breakfast which was a lovely touch. We really appreciated the recommendations for local things to do. The accomodation was beautiful and clean, a lovely place full of character! All round a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. All the guests were impressed and highly recommend this Air BnB. We would definitely return for a stay again in the future.

  • A wonderfully relaxing stay with truly thoughtful and gracious hosts. I am quite suspicious of online reviews in general, but cannot disagree with any of the numerous positive comments I saw beforehand. The SuperHost title is well earned, and so naturally my wife, my eleven year old boy are looking forward to coming back soon

    Sadiq2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Emma was a great host and made us feel very welcomed on our arrival. A beautiful location and plenty of grounds to explore, there was lots of information about local places to see and visit as well as places to eat, we used the local curry house recommended and it was lovely. We was provided with breakfast and refreshments. The whole place was clean and tidy with lots of homely comforts. A beautiful place to stay and would defiantly visit again. Greatly recommended.

Chapel Farmhouse is a listed Georgian Farmhouse with a 200 year-old cottage annex attached to the main farmhouse. We are located in a peaceful, rural setting on the outskirts of the village of Oakhanger, within the grounds of a small cattle farm. There are some wonderful walks from your front door and a lovely tearoom (The Chocolate Frog) just a minute’s walk from the house.
The cottage annex has two bedrooms (1 x king; 1 x double) with plenty of space for a toddler bed and cots if required. There is a small private bathroom with a bath and shower attachment (please note the pressure of the shower attachment is not strong). You have your own entrance and private sitting room with a TV + Netflix and breakfast station, which includes a kettle, toaster and microwave (there is no sink). You also have your own back door to a shared garden. Wifi is available. We can provide a toddler bed, 2 x cots and bedding for children. We do not have stairgates and children will need to be supervised on the staircase. Please be aware that we’re restoring the farmhouse & adjacent outbuildings, & have young children & a dog. You may hear us at times in the main farmhouse.
Oakhanger is a great base for exploring the surrounding attractions e.g. Jane Austen’s house in Chawton, Gilbert White’s Centre in Selborne, the Hangar’s Way and the wonderful walking on the South Downs. We're also within 40 minutes of the Coast, Winchester, Basingstoke and many National Trust sites along the A3, such as RHS Garden Wisley, Hatchlands Park and the Devil’s Punch Bowl.
  • Awesome! Very well appointed - didnt miss the lack of a sink! Beds comfy, sky and wifi a godsend for two pre teens, lots of space, lots of blankets and little touches. Had a great stay! Be back soon!

  • Fantastic place, hosted very well. All responses to questions and query’s given very quickly. A nice stay and a very comfy bed, even if it’s a small climb to it. Lovely clean en-suite shower and toilet and great cooking/kitchen facilities.

  • An amazing find! A truly beautiful cabin in a cute herb garden which smells fantastic. Tom was really helpful and friendly and the little touches made the stay even more lovely. A very cosy weekend and I can't wait to visit again!

    Jo2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I truly cannot recommend this beautiful cottage enough! It was sparkling clean, the check-in was flawless, and Tom was so kind and thoughtful! All of the small details were so well thought through. I’m so glad I decided to stay here.

    Kirna2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I entered through the arched wooded gate into the beautifully landscaped, east-facing garden and sensed the peace and serenity suggested by the Air BnB pictures. A wood shed and greenhouse flank either side of the rear and four privet hedged flower beds, each one adorned with an array of flowers and shrubs, sit comfortably in front of the cabin. As my feet crunched on the pebble pathway leading to the door I knew I was in for a treat. Stepping inside for the first time was a delight. Lucy and Tom have managed to achieve the impossible; a real home from home. The décor is soporific with a perfect balance of function and style, with a lavish light oak wooden floor . The kitchen is equipped with everything I needed and beautifully presented on the worksurface and single wooden shelf edged with the original bark. There’s even a tray by the door for your shoes; attention to detail is everywhere. I found 6 eggs and 6 crumpets, along with tea and ground coffee. In the fridge were milk, fresh orange and butter The lounge area has a contemporary yet cottage feel to it. A rustic table and chairs sit under the window overlooking the garden, reminding me of the pictures I’d seen of Hemmingway’s writing desk. A single reading chair stands invitingly against the rear of the cabin, covered with a sheepskin rug, and an up-cyclyed map of Asia on the wall above. The bathroom is well equipped with a corner shower, sink and toilet, all immaculately clean, with fresh towels on the chromed wall heater. A small but ample shelf over the sink is perfect for your washbag and it’s contents. On the mezzanine floor lies a comfortable matress covered in brightly coloured bedding, the duvet is feels luxurious, it’s weight engulfed me as I slept. The lighting is subtle, with switches perfectly positioned at the top of the ladder and by the bed. Behind the bed is a window that floods with natural light from the early morning sun. I have to say that this is one of, if not, the best place I’ve ever stayed in.

  • This is the sweetest little cabin! Full of thoughtful touches like juice, milk, crumpets and the bespoke map of the area. This is a self contained flat built above our garage in the building that used to be the old coach house. Set in a quiet location on the northern edge of the South Downs National Park it is well placed for walking, National Trust, Jane Austen, HMS Victory, The Mary Rose, The Watercress line, Goodwood, Haslemere, Petworth, The Devil's Punchbowl and the lovely town of Petersfield. It can accommodate 2 comfortably and 4 using the bed settee , but this can be quite a squeeze.
This property is on the edge of the village of Liss which is on the main line railway to Waterloo or Portsmouth. Trains run hourly and it is a 10 minute walk to the station. Despite being near the village centre, with a small Tesco, a Boots and a great little café, it is very peaceful and within an easy of The Sussex Border Path, The Serpent Trail and other waymarked paths. The flat is self contained with its own entrance and has access to a small garden. It is perfect for two but could take up to four with use of the bed settee which can be folded during the day. It has a kitchen with washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, cooker, fridge and is heated with storage heaters. A tumble dryer can be used on request. There is a Smart TV, which works on FreeSat, offering the usual terrestrial channels as well as internet access providing catch up, Netflix (use your own account) and other internet channels. There is a strong WIFI signal as well as the possibility of an ethernet connection. There is a DVD player and a good selection of DVDs as well as books and some games. Our family use the space when they come and love it - you will be very comfortable and made very welcome. We do ask that guests park at the bottom of the drive rather than adjacent to the property as space is limited. The space is best used by two adults, but could accommodate two more with use of the bed settee or the option of mattresses on the floor for children. Please let me know if you will need the extra bedding for more than two people or indeed two people who wish to sleep separately.
The neighbourhood has all the advantages of village living, plus proximity to a main line station, but retains a country feel. It is within easy reach of many places of interest as well as stunning countryside and South Downs waymarked paths.

  • Ruth is a very accommodating host. The space is lovely and comfortable and great as a couple retreat. The walk from Liss station is roughly 15 minutes if you’re a slow walker and there’s a Tesco express nearby too. Loved the decor and me and my Queen would recommend.

  • This a very comfortable self-contained flat with all the amenities you could wish for. The parking is on the road, about a minutes walk away, but I had no problems finding space. I was attending a course at Longmoor Barracks so had little opportunity to explore Liss and the surrounding area but it looked perfectly positioned for walks. It is an ideal base for anyone that does not want to stay on camp (or whose other half does not want to!).

    Ian2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a lovely stay here! The place was spotless and had everything you needed for a nice weekend away. Ruth and Graham were thoughtful hosts and were on hand if we needed them. There was also a good range of suggestions for places to eat and places to go while we were there. Very quiet surroundings and gorgeous countryside! We would recommend and would stay here again!

  • Ivy Cottage was the perfect base for me, my partner and 8-month old baby. There was plenty of room for us to set up the travel cot in the bedroom, and spread out in the living area. It was warm, clean and spacious, and the sunlight flooded the whole accommodation through the windows, which look out to the garden. The kitchen area was basic but had everything we needed. The shower was warm and powerful, and the bed was very comfortable. We’ll definitely be staying again!

Bijou, comfortable single room garden cabin ( 1 superking bed or twins ) with kitchenette and adjoining ensuite shower and WC, set in the middle of an SSSI within the South Downs National Park and accessed by an unmade bumpy track. Please note this is not a village location though pubs are about a 5 minute drive ( walkable with good footwear and a map ! ) A car or bicycles are favourable although we have accommodated hikers overnight.
Re-built 15 years ago, warm and light, own entrance. Looks out onto the garden, step through the gate straight onto Shortheath Common, a gem within the south downs national park. Shower and WC ensuite. Kitchenette. Breakfast table. TV.One super king bed or two single beds. The bothy is small but well set out.
Shortheath common is an SSSI and has European SAC designation with rare habitat, plants and insects. It can be accessed directly from the Bothy and keen walkers can get onto the hangers way quite near to the Alton end.
  • We had a really lovely stay at the bothy, its a great set up with everything you need and lots of thoughtful touches. Simon was very welcoming and there was some delicious carrot cake waiting for us when we arrived. Lots of great walks close by and didn't take us long to drive over from London. Would definitely recommend for a country escape. Thanks for everything Simon! Don and Tabby

  • I stayed at the Bothy for just over a month for a work trip. If is beautiful, spotless clean, cosy warm, well laid out and if you are an avid walker or just looking for a lovely little place to stay then you won’t find any better. Simon and Jos are both very helpful with everything and they are lovely approachable , friendly people.

  • This is a lovely place to stay - truly away from it all - in a peaceful and tranquil environment. (I slept better than I do at home!). The cabin has everything you need - lovely beds/duvets, cooking facilities and a compact bathroom... Open the curtains in the morning, lie in your bed, and look out on a world of wildlife/nature... It’s a true adventure staying here - my daughter and I loved it.

    Anne2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very good stay and we definitely recommend it! It is a very calm, clean, charming small house. Everything we need was there. Very nice area to walk. Simon was very kind and he suggested to pick us up by car from the closest train station.

    Charlotte2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Blossom Bothy for 12 days in October 2019. A good place to stay which is off the beaten track but still within reach of amenities and local conurbations. Very big comfortable bed. Bathroom bijou but clean with instant hot water. Kitchen facilities fine for a short stay, equivalent of what you would get in a camper van. We were welcomed with home made bread and jam and carrot cake, lovely. Lots of other goodies and staples provided. Very warm and cozy. TV and internet good. Takes some finding on a dark night but the instructions were good.

Warren Farm is 2 miles from Alton, which is famous for the Watercress Line steam railway and the home of Jane Austen. We are also on the edge of the South Downs National Park and within easy reach of Winchester and the Historic Dockyards and ferry terminals in Portsmouth. The Stables has it's own entrance from the beautiful garden room which adjoins our barn. There are country views and footpaths if you are feeling energetic! We look forward to welcoming you.
There are seating areas in the garden and the garden room which guests are free to use but these are shared with us and occasionally our grandchildren too. With only one close neighbour we are situated in the beautiful north Hampshire countryside. It is a quiet rural area but guests should be aware that, although well screened from the road, traffic can sometimes be heard but is not continuous. We have a no smoking policy both inside the Stables and in all outside areas.
Within easy reach there are good country pubs that offer excellent food and drinks. Closest is The Sun at Bentworth while the Yew Tree at Wield and the Royal Oak at Lasham are a little further. Lasham is home to one of the largest gliding centres and is only 5 minutes drive.
  • Second stay here and was just as brilliant as the last time, Suzy really goes the extra mile, the stables are super clean and homely and in the perfect location for a relaxing break. Would highly recommend

A beautiful cottage set in a picturesque, historic village yet with all the modern amenities you would want.
We hope you enjoy our warm and cosy, quintessentially English cottage. Although just off the main road, and so easily accessible, the cottage boasts a secluded feel immediately. Entering through the front conservatory, there's a small toilet and utility area with a fully usable washer/dryer. Then through to the kitchen and 3 further rooms - dining, living and conservatory. The dining room has a usable wood burner. Upstairs is a double bedroom, bathroom with separate bath and power shower, and 3 singles, all with wardrobe space. The property has central heating and double glazing throughout. In the living room there is a television and separate DVD player, and there is also free broadband. The property has some traffic noise during the day (being on a main road), which can be heard when windows & doors are open during the warm weather. But by late afternoon/evening this is minimal.
You are nestled in the beautiful village of Selborne, whose amenities include a pub serving delicious food, a coffee shop and a local convenience store. Gilbert White's house is also close by and worth a visit. This is classic Jane Austen country, with Jane's house located close by in Chawton. Chawton is another picturesque village with some lovely local amenities - be sure to check out Cassandra's Cup, a delicious tea room.
  • Great place, good location and a real bargain

  • We had a wonderful stay in this cute cottage. It’s much bigger than it looks in the photos and is very comfortable. The kitchen has lots of plates and cups which is great. The cottage was also lovely and warm and had a good selection of games and dvds. It was very useful having the use of the travel cot and high chair. Sophie was a great host who answered all my questions quickly and also left some milk and biscuits for our arrival which was lovely and thoughtful. I would definitely stay again.

    Sadie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A very comfortable cottage with great facilities . Lots of useful touches to the home - security lights in the garden (very useful for Winter - especially going out with the dogs early morning) Hooks, good lighting, decent cupboard space. House was clean & host really helpful with a few queries. Parking fine as well. Would come again

    Hannah2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • A quaint country cottage that is accessed by a quaint lane within a quaint village in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. Visiting in the depths of winter was not a problem as the cottage had great heating. We can imagine ourselves lounging in the conservatory if we had been visiting in the summer months. The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge is a cosy room with windows on three sides, so always receiving any sunshine. You will not be disappointed with the four bedrooms, perfect for our family of 5 when most accommodation only suits a family of 4. This place is ideal for an escape to the country, with beautiful country walks nearby and the almost adjoining rec grounds with playground. We will be back.

  • Thank you for the lovely stay! Really lovely and cosy cottage with plenty of nice country walks around. We stayed there for 2 nights with a toddler and a baby. The house is suitable for small children. The cottage is very well located walking distance from the local pub and tea room, as well as starting point for nice country walks. The “zig-zag walk” on a bright sunny day is beautiful. Sophie also has a folder in the house with plenty of ideas of things to do in the area.

  • This is our second stay at Marco & Nas place now. The location is beautiful, set in country roads but close to many cosy cute pubs/restaurants offering great food options. This time we simply went to chill, the Annex is private and quiet and the sofas are so comfortable. I like all the little lamps in the annex making it feel really cosy. We ate in, watched DVD’s and Marco is on hand for any questions you may have. Great hosts they left a special extra for us as we had stayed before. Take away menus and tips on area are all there. Spotlessly clean and a big space for you but feels cosy. Can’t recommend their place enough

In August 2006, Anna and Will introduced the UK's first Feather Down farm. Situated on the edge of the South Downs National Park, Manor Farm remains a tranquil oasis just an hour from London that many guests have returned to time and again for their Hampshire glamping farm holiday. Farming arable, cattle and sheep among a classic rolling landscape of copses and sunken lanes is even more of a pleasure now the family get to share it with so many happy people. You will relax in one of the extra luxurious Frills tents: either under a twinkling starscape in your own hot tub, or instead at a tent with its own en suite, depending on your booking selection. The tents are in the old farm orchard under trees or amongst hedgerows and are ideally spaced, each one offering privacy whilst also being well placed for groups. Some face into the orchard towards the lamb paddock, while others have views over Alton and the rolling countryside beyond. Each tent has its own campfire site for cooking hearty meals in the stew pot or toasting marshmallows, and there are plenty of places for foraging wood. A barbecue under the stars is not to be missed, for which the meat is often provided ' the marinated butterflied leg of lamb being a favourite. In September, the hedgerows are full of berries, guests having lots of fun foraging for food from the hedgerows & fields. Wandering off site, there are great local pubs within walking distance, including the Three Horseshoes 1 mile away in East Worldham who have always looked after our guests well. For those who love a dip, there's wild swimming at Frensham Ponds that is only 20 minutes away, or a fun paddle at West Wittering and Hayling Island on the coast, which you can reach within an hour. Please note: there is no electricity in this location

  • Lovely people and clean, comfortable room. We didn’t realise it was part of the house but it’s in a separate bit just off the lounge and we didn’t feel too much that we weren’t completely private and the room is beautiful and it’s great value. I would recommend the room and think that anyone that stays will have a comfortable and pleasant stay.

We used it as a base to travel into London, for which it was well located a short walk to the station. Overall a fabulous stay. THank you!

  • We had a lovely stay. The room was spotlessly clean with everything you could need and really comfortable bed. Ewa and Richard were great hosts!

  • Thank you so much to Martin and family who made this the best Air B and B experience we’ve had. Such a friendly, personable experience and the apartment was beautiful! 10/10 would really recommend to anyone

  • What an exceptional host both in the lead up and once we arrived. The place was spotless, modern, comfortable and well located. There were very kind personal touches in the apartment, such as fresh bread, ham, milk, juice etc. which was such a pleasant surprise. There are some wonderful long country walks you can do locally, i can't recommend this place enough. 10 out of 10.

  • Great place, great host!

  • Martin's studio is the perfect Airbnb. This cosy self contained studio has everything you need; it's warm, inviting and extremely comfortable. The thoughtful touches such as additional breakfast items and the friendly welcome lift this place to another level. Communication is excellent, friendly and prompt and lots of additional information provided by the host but also leaflets and brochures in the studio. Martin is an excellent host; his affable nature and genuine interest in his guests bubbles through and he strikes exactly the right balance between being available if anything is needed but ensuring privacy is guaranteed. The secure nature of the property makes for a relaxing stay and prioximity to the town is another tick. The bed is super comfortable and the studio really flows well so that even though it's open plan you feel the living and sleeping areas don' conflict with each other. I would highly recommend and would not hesitate to book again if I am ever back in the area. Thank you very much Martin.

A lovely double room with TV, WIFI, mini fridge and a spacious WC/shower room. Situated on the ground floor of a 17th century cottage directly opposite Jane Austen's House and next door to The Greyfriar pub and the café Cassandra's Cup where breakfast is available.
Chawton is one of the prettiest villages in Hampshire. From the cottage there is access to many country walks. It is also within easy access of several other historic villages and towns such as Selborne (Gilbert White's museum), Alton (The Watercress Line), Alresford and Winchester.
Chawton is the postcard perfect English village with its many period houses, Jane Austen's House and the magnificent Chawton House (open to the public) - not to mention the Chawton cricket pitch where cricket is played daily during summer months against a backdrop of sheep and the famous Chawton House shire horses grazing peacefully in their paddock. Being in the middle of a National Park, Chawton is surrounded by outstandingly beautiful countryside. At the same time, it is not a remote village. It is within walking distance of the market town Alton which has several shops, banks and rail links to the rest of the country, including London, less than 1 hour away by train.
  • Perfect place for any Jane Austen fan since the place is just crossing the street from the JA house museum. It's a lovely cottage! On Cassandra's cup (the restaurant nextdoor) they serve delicious English breakfast and tea. Chawton is a gorgeous town we loved it!

  • The hosts were amazing. From communication prior to my stay to hunting me down to return my passport which I left behind. Beautiful place. If you are a Jane Austen fan there is only one place to stay. My thanks to Melane and I will definitely be booking again.

    Andy2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place for fans of Jane Austen to stay. You are just steps away from her home and when you’re not visiting the Jane Austen House Museum, you can admire it from the window of your thoughtfully appointed room! I wasn’t sure from the listing if we’d be getting a room in someone’s home or a private space, but it’s completely private—a bit like a studio apartment—which was nice. And Malene was a terrific host. I would definitely stay here again.

    Colleen2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very cosy stay. It was super easy to find and get access to the cottage. We were travelling via public transport and walking and this place suited us great. Lovely touches like tea and coffee, lots of cushions, blankets and tv. Had dinner and drinks in pub and breakfast in cafe which are both right next door and are lovely places .

    Jennifer2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Neither Catherine Morland, visiting Northanger Abbey, nor Anne Elliot, visiting Lyme, could have been more pleased and delighted than we were with our visit to Cassandra's Cottage in Chawton, Hampshire, UK. Janeites of the world, you who long to see where your favorite literary heroines were born and nurtured, this review is for you! It is easy to get to Chawton from London using public transportation -- just take the Southwestern Railway from Waterloo Station to Alton. From the station in Alton you walk 1.8 miles, or take the 64 bus going toward Winchester, or take a taxi. Ask locals to point you in the right direction if you opt to walk, as we did. Malene is a gracious host, the cottage is comfy and cozy and right across the street from Jane Austen's home where you can wander about the rooms and grounds to your heart's content, taking selfies and trying your hand at writing with a quill pen. Later a lovely walk to Chawton House gives you a full sense of the sweet landscape and verdure that nourished our favorite authoress.

Our one bedroom, self catering apartment is in Alice Holt Forest, south of Farnham on the Surrey Hampshire Border. It is ideal for a weekend get away to the woods. Bring your bikes, kids and hiking shoes. It is also a great place to stay if you are going to one of the many rural wedding venues nearby. Little Willow is an annex that is attached to our family home. It has a full kitchen, bedroom with a small double bed, living room with a pull out double sofa bed and a bathroom with shower.
Stroll, ride bikes, adventure or explore - You will be staying in the middle of Alice Holt Forest, part of the South Downs National Park and one of England's loveliest National Forests. Access to its many walking and cycling paths is at your doorstep. The official visitors' centre is located across the road, a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk away. There is a courtyard garden which has a table and chairs which can be a great little sun trap. You are welcome to bring your own BBQ. A friendly country pub, The Jolly Farmer, is a ten minute walk away. They serve good food, traditional ales, and provide a warm and friendly welcome. They have a large children's play area.
We love our location, in a quiet cul de sac, in the middle of the forest, yet close to the Georgian Market Town of Farnham and the city of Guildford. Easy reach to the South Coast - Portsmouth and the sea side etc. Also for attractions such as Weyfest, the Farnborough Air Show etc.
  • The place is lovely. Clean, modern, great location near the woods. Check-in and out were efficient. Would definitely recommend.

There is plenty to see and do in the area which is located on the edge of the South Downs national Park so the countryside is beautiful with many walks/cycle/ riding routes. We are also near the town of Haslemere which has some lovely independent shops and is well worth a browse. Goodwood is 25 minutes away for horse and car racing events. Neaby Midhurst offers Polo. There are a number of good pubs in and around the village, our local being the best in our view, The Deers Hut which is just a 5 minute walk. There many excellent golf courses in this part of Hampshire/Surrey; Liphook and Hindhead are nearby, whilst Old Thorns Golf and Country Club is just around the corner, as is Champneys spa. Larger shopping areas are available in Guildford to the north and Gunwharf Quay outlet stores in Portsmouth to the south, both about half an hours drive.
  • Brilliant place to stay. Beautifully converted and decorated little barn, cosy wood burner, & tasty breakfast. Pub near-by did delicious food. Jo was very friendly & helpful. The highlight for us was lounging in the hot tub, both day and night, watching the stars and the Red Kites which hoveredso low! A wonderfully relaxing, luxuriant visit. Thanks Jo, we'll be back!

This wonderful building, started in the 60’s by Edward Barnsley, was finished more recently and remains in the family. Adjacent to the Barnsley workshops, which remain operational to this day. It stands in the grounds of The Bee House, where poet Edward Thomas wrote many of his poems. The garden falls straight into the South Downs Hangars, with direct access to fantastic woodland walks with spectacular views, whilst minimal light pollution makes the night skies perfect for star-gazing.
The Folly comprises of an open plan living and kitchen area. In the living room there is a sofa bed that can be used as a double if needed. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bedroom has a double bed. The wet room has a shower, sink and toilet.
The Folly sits in the garden of The Bee House. Surrounded by woods which are part of the South Downs. There are many great walks that can lead to many great pubs. Our closest being The Trooper followed by The Pub With No Name. Froxfield village is also known as Little Switzerland. We are the highest village in Hampshire. Some mornings you can wake up and be above the clouds! Everyone who has stayed at The Folly regardless of the weather have been mesmerised by the view.
  • Amazing place, loved it and will be returning soon

  • Sharyn's place is beautiful - we loved being able to sit and look out across the stunning landscape regardless of the weather! The breakfast had a great selection of options, there were fresh flowers in the kitchen, the communication and check-in was smooth and the kitchen was well-equipped. Definitely recommend!

  • Had a great time staying at the folly for New Years. The space is comfortable and warm and only a 10 minute walk from the local pub. The view is lovely and plenty of walks nearby to enjoy. Sharyn has thought of everything to make the folly a relaxing escape.

    Charlotte2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Spectacular views, incredible hospitality and with everything you could ever need for a magical get away. The folly is top of our list after many years of staying in some really wonderful places on Airbnb. Sharyn went over and above to make our stay special. There is some thoughtful items in every corner and it was so nice to have local produce included so we didn’t need to bring food. Also I’m not sure if she will be annoyed at us for saying this but she arranged a surprise roast dinner all ready and left in the oven for our return after a walk. She offered to do this when my other half told her it was my birthday. What a nice smell to return to and the small detail of laying out the table, supplying a menu and choosing a super bottle of wine, all at a very reasonable rate. And yes let’s not forget dessert...wow !! A message to anyone considering this fantastic piece of heaven, do it !!Thank you so much for a perfect stay.

She was full of useful tips about places to visit and made sure coffee, tea or a much needed bacon and egg sandwich was on hand when needed. Her home is beautiful and comfortable with two of the most adorable dogs ever. Highly recommend!

Alton is not far from Winchester, Guildford and historic town of Petersfield and is just over an hour by train to Waterloo Station in London.

  • My stay with Gill was absolutely lovely and far exceeded my expectations! I stayed in the single room with the platform bed - very exciting, I felt like a child again! Charmingly furnished and spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. The location was ideal with easy access to the high street, local amenities, and buses to the surrounding places of interest. Gill's hospitality and knowledge of the area made my visit all the more worthwhile!

The tub is logged fired and is completely secluded from other guests. The water heats to a very warm 38 degrees. We have secure bike storage so if you would like to bring your bike you can rest assure that it is safe. There is an outside veranda with table and chairs for you to sit and enjoy the evening sunsets. There is no WIFI or television in the pod.
  • We’ve just got back from spending 2 nights in the Bramley pod for part of our minimoon. It was so peaceful and lovely to get away from it all. I’m not a fan of camping, so the pod and hot tub felt just like a country glamping trip with a super comfy bed, lots of amenities and a brilliant host who bought us more wood for the fire just by us dropping a text. Would highly recommend for couples who want to connect and don’t miss out on sharing a glass of champagne in the hot tub under the stars. Lovely!

  • Small but perfectly formed and even at the end of October in the wind and the rain so comfy and cosy. And the wood fired hot tub was a lovely extra special feature to make a relaxing get away a little bit special.

  • Second time we have stayed here and can not fault it, communication is excellent and nothing is too much. Location is perfect and has lovely pubs nearby if you wish to venture out. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet weekend away.

  • Amazing host told us all the good places to go for food and things to do around town. The pod was beautifully presented and really cosy for a weekend away, even though it was raining the hot tub was a really good bonus, will definitely be visiting again!!

    Rio2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for some escapism

    Hannah2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was our seconds time staying at one of Lisa’s Pods. Once again we had a great stay. Hot tub was perfect, comfy bed and great amenities. Do yourselves a favour. Come and stay and leave all your technology behind and enjoy the view!

Gorgeous wood cabin, self contained space with large decking area on hill top giving delightful views over Bourne Woods.
Self contained space, with all basic necessities, including TV, fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster.
The Bourne Woods (walking distance) and nearby Frensham Ponds are used regularly as film sets, for instance Snow White, New Avengers, Gladiator and many, many more. There is a convenience store, post office, newsagents and pharmacy a couple of minutes walk away. Also The Fox Inn, our local pub, serves a wonderful range of food lunchtimes and evenings.
  • Peace and quiet with good hospitality.

  • Thank you for a lovely stay and cuddles with your lovely two little pupps! The place is nice, clean and quiet, Patricia lives on site and is an outstanding host! If you are arriving in the evening as we did, the path to the cabin is well lit. There is a nice pub just down the road and a lovely little park with a pond and stunning views just a few minutes drive away from the place. Highly recommended to stay there! Thank you again!

  • Beautiful cabin in a stunning location. The interiors are divine and the breakfast is lovely. A real find.

    Francesca2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely lovely cabin in a gorgeous location. Super close to the pub and really lovely touches in the cabin with lovely views. Would love to go back in the summer months to enjoy the amazing outside.

    Sophie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay, the cabin was really nicely decorated and very cosy. Everything we needed for a cosy night away. We had a slight issue finding it but Patricia was very helpful when we messaged her and replied almost straight away. We didn’t get to make the most of the lovely outside area due to the awful weather but I can imagine in the summer it would be lovely! Would definitely recommend :)

An apartment set in one of Hampshire's most idyllic locations in the heart of Jane Austins county, (her house is only a few miles away), over looking the Hangers Way and close to Gilbert Whites House. The apartment is part of an old Oast house dating back may centuries and is my home. The house benefits from gated access and is away from the hustle and bustle of city life. I aim to make your stay a home away from home and a rememerable break. Great for walkers and those who wish to relax.
The accommodation boasts 2 large bedrooms (one with exposed beams), luxurious bathrooms, and large open living areas, one having a piano for those who like to dabble on the keys and an open fire. With far reaching views there are plenty of nooks to retire in with comfortable sofas and chairs.
What neighbours? Within my grounds there are a very small number of houses set apart that you will not notice. There is no light pollution so those who like to views the stars are in for a treat. There are a couple of pubs a few minutes drive away, but those who wish to walk please note there is no street lighting on route.
  • Peter is an absolute gem and his home is truly stunning. The photos do not do this place justice it’s huge! And the scenery just wow - so many animals (peacocks/horses/dogs - his friendly pets). Just a lovely relaxed host. We had a fantastic weekend!

    Diluxshy2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We actually ended up staying at a beautiful cottage on the same grounds as The Oast House called Swallows Rest. The main house is beautiful but as we were staying there over Christmas the cottage provided more comprehensive cooking facilities so we opted to stay there. It is a cosy, warm and welcoming space in a stunning farm setting. The baby grand piano is a wonderful feature for anyone who likes to play. The only downside is that we found the WiFi was sketchy / not working but that might be a benefit if you are looking to get off the grid for a few days. I would thoroughly recommended the property.

    Marc2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Peter is an absolutely fantastic host who puts his guests at ease. The place is stunning and perfect for a cosy getaway. There are some cooking facilities- a small oven and two hobs, a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and a coffee machine. The photos don’t do this place justice- even though they are beautiful it is even more beautiful in real life. We stayed here the night before my wedding (with some bridesmaids) and the night of (with my husband) and it was the perfect setting to get ready in and made for some beautiful photos. Peter even helped to get my dad to us as a taxi driver had taken and left him in the wrong place so Peter organised and his lovely cleaner drove to collect him which took the stress off of myself. Truly a stunning place to stay and cannot recommend it enough. All these reviews mention how lovely Peter is and now I see why, he truly is the world most kindest and most accommodating man, a pleasure to meet!

    Kelsey2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful relaxing weekend at Peter’s beautiful house. There is plenty of space to relax and the bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely . We can recommend the Rose and Crown at Upper Farringdon - a decent walk away - but amazing food and then come back and relax on the comfy sofas in front of a roaring fire. Peter is an excellent host - providing warm croissant in the morning and some lovely homely touches including fruit and yoghurt. There is a mini oven and microwave which is useful . It would be helpful to have a bigger sink for washing up. We could imagine that this would be amazing in the summer - sitting outside in the sunshine with a beautiful view but it was pretty fabulous in late autumn !

    Gabrielle2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay! Very nicely renovated house. Extremely helpful host! Thanks For taking care of us Peter and see you next time!

  • Peter was a charming host and we loved the accommodation. Peter went above and beyond expectations during our stay and i would highly recommend to anyone.

  • This property is a beautiful country home with bags of room for a family/group to enjoy. Set in the glorious countryside with amazing views from all aspects of the home. The property had everything we needed and if something was missing Peter was happy to help out. It was the little touches that made it feel so welcoming, fresh milk in the fridge, some fruit in the basket and piping hot croissants in the morning. Don’t follow your Sat Nav, Peters direction are much more reliable.

    Gillian2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Peter is the ideal host: v hospitable, friendly, easy going and welcoming. The house is beautiful, spotlessly clean and v cosy. Second time we stayed and enjoyed it even more the second time. The setting is v tranquil - an evening on the patio with nice wine and cheese, watching the sunset with Trevor the turkey and the peacocks is bliss. Would recommend to anyone looking for a restful and fun weekend.

Beautiful, unusual and stylish 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, ( one en suite ) renovated barn. In a tranquil, yet accessible countryside setting, overlooking fields with 3 ponies and a stable yard. A comfortable and welcoming place to stay. It also stays beautifully cool, even on the hottest summer days. Numerous attractions to discover include Jane Austen’s house, Mid Hants steam railway, BirdWorld, Uppark, Weald & Downland Open Air Museum, Gilbert White's House & Hollycombe steam collection.
A wonderfully spacious old barn that has been completely renovated. There is also a double sofa bed in the living room so can sleep 5 or 6. I sometimes teach and run drawing workshops in and around the Art Barn, hence the name. Please ask if you would like to book any additional art lessons during your stay. Definitely bring your sketch pad if you're an artist, so much to inspire you! I also have a list of local mobile masseurs, beauty therapists and yoga teachers for you to contact should you wish to have any treatments during your stay. Huge SmartTV with decent wifi.
We are in Jane Austen Country and on the edge of the South Downs. The Jane Austen House Museum is only a 15 min drive away in the picturesque village of Chawton with tea rooms and pub. There are lovely long walks direct from our gate onto the bridlepath leading to Bramshott and Ludshott Commons. All the big supermarket chains are within 10-15 min drives. 25 mins to polo at Cowdray, 38 minutes to Goodwood. The beach at Chichester/West Wittering are all approx 45 mins drive as is Ascot. Farnborough is 40 mins. National Trust houses at Petworth Park and Uppark are 25 mins and so is Butser Ancient Farm. The Watts Gallery- a 'pre raphaelite' treasure trove, is only 20 mins drive and if you need a place to stay for the Jalsa Salana in August 2020 we are just 18 mins from the event. There are plenty of decent pubs in the area, all within a 10-15 min drive, inlcuding The Deers Hut, The Links Tavern and The Rising Sun in Milland. Old Thorns Country and Golf Club with Spa, Grayshott and Champneys Health Clubs are all within a ten minute drive. Should you wish to turn your stay into a bit of a retreat, I can give you the details of excellent local masseurs, reflexologists and yoga teachers who do home visits. They can treat you in the comfort of the barn !
  • Would highly recommend The Art Barn. Very clean and comfortable - we had a lovely weekend there.

  • Beautiful, stylish and well equipped place to stay in a stunning setting and with the kindest and most helpful host! You couldn't wish for a nicer place to stay!

    Laura2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very lovely place to stay. It was clean and has great showers and a comfy beds! We had everything we needed and would recommend this to any families or groups wishing to stay in this beautiful part of the country. Only one slight challenge was cooking on the double electric hob. Food did take a bit longer to cook than what we would have liked but other than that there were plenty of utensils etc. Communication with the host, Georgea, was great with very clear instructions on how to find the property. Thank you very much.

    Benjamin2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at The Art Barn when we were in the area for a wedding. The place is very nicely decorated and kitted out for small groups. It’s cosy but spotlessly clean! Thank you for having us Georgea and for your kind hospitality.
