open for NHS key workers only. Bright and airy garden room with a Scandinavian feel. A sunny morning terrace with table and chairs.
The studio was formerly an art studio and there are even some pictures on the walls that were painted in it. It is a good size space even with the sofa bed down in bed position. It has a little patio which get the sun in the mornings and is ideal for breakfast or lunch outdoors. The sofa bed is a standard double size, but very long. It has a mattress topper to ensure a good night's sleep. The Studio is ideal for walkers with their dogs; you can go through a gate in the garden into the National Trust field surrounding the property and walk up the Dene or go to the woods or downs. It is also perfect for cyclists as we are just off the popular National Cycle Route 45, and there is a shed to lock bikes in. It's a lovely, light space with big windows on all sides and black out curtains to keep the light out while sleeping.
The Lockeridge Dene is a conservation area. The land surrounding the property is owned by the National Trust and is of interest because the Sarcen stones lying in the field were used to make the nearby Avebury Neolithic Stone Circle. We are located on the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in this charming village with its stone and thatch cottages. There is a pub in the village which serves good food and local real ale. Just up a track by the house are the West Woods with amazing bluebells in late April/early May, they are a real treat to see and smell. The edge of the Downs are fantastic for walking with the Ridgeway and Wansdyke located about 2 miles away. There is a good riding stables in Stanton St Bernard and you can go riding out on the downs from there. The National Cycle Route 45 is on the doorstep for cycling enthusiasts. In addition there are many Neolithic site such as Avebury Stone Cirlce, Silbury Hill, West Kennet Borrow 3 miles away, and Stonehenge 20 miles away. Bath is about a 50 minute drive. It has the Roman Baths, The Holbein Museum, The Pump Rooms, the Costume Museum, and if relaxing is more your thing there is the Bath Spa with its natural thermal water.
  • Staying in Jessica's garden Chalet was a beautiful, cosy, snug experience. We used it as a perfect base to visit the Avebury sites and Marlborough and some local walks - all within 5 to 10 mins drive. Beautiful location in a valley on the edge of the village. Even the lack of mobile signal adds to the charm. We will definitely come back here for further visits. Thank you Jessica and your very beautiful sensitive loving dogs

A private studio situated above World's End Microbrewery, behind The Crown Inn Pewsey. En suite shower and toilet no bath. A light airy room with two skylights and large window. Electric heater. The room is accessed by an exterior staircase; no stair lift available. Own separate entrance. Very close to train station (mainline to Paddington). In the heart of Pewsey Vale, ideal for walking. Near Marlborough. Convenient for Stonehenge, Avebury. Sunday Roasts available at The Crown. Shops nearby.
The accommodation is detached and has its own front door so privacy is high.
Pewsey Vale is an excellent area for walking, the surrounding hills are very picturesque. There are a number of real ale pubs in the village (not least the Crown Inn with its own microbrewery). There is an excellent bakery on North Street where hot rolls and coffee can be bought, a cafe and a take away lunch venue on the High Street.
  • Second stay here, can't fault it. Great communication, perfect size for what we needed and well presented.

    Rebecca2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Helen, Iago and everyone offered such hospitality with warmth and kindness. Wonderful clean and cozy room with many windows to let light in. Quite spacious too. Heater is warm - thank you for warming up the room before our arrival! The amenities like tea set and hairdryer are very thoughtful. Be aware there is no body wash or shampoo! Love how close and accessible it is from the train station. We loved our stay here.

  • a very spacious comfortable and pricate room, only a short walk down the hill into the village.

    Michael2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • You climb a few easy stairs and find yourself in a light, airy room - blindingly white and clean. It is essentially a bedroom with attached facilities. I slept very well aided probably by the Landlord's excellent beers; I did not notice any aroma or noise from the attached microbrewery. I was walking and can't see how you can go wrong with this as a base for some beautiful and easy walking countryside. The pub itself was very friendly as were mein Hosts. I ate twice at the pub and the food was good. There is no attempt to overextend so the meals are not elaborate or fancy (or pricey). It's very close to the railway station and a little walk into the village where there are most things you would want. The local bus services go north, south, east and west but not on a Sunday!

    Michael2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fab stay at this crown in pewsey. The accommodation was perfect, clean and tidy and was exactly as advertised. A very cute family run village pub. We stayed for a wedding close by and found it was the perfect location. Pewsey is a very cute little village with a few pubs and shops to visit. We had a Sunday lunch at our accommodation which was unbelievable value and a great roast. I also dined on the Friday evening whilst waiting for my husband to arrive, the best pub lasagne I have ever had. Hosts were friendly and happy to have a chat, we felt very welcome. It’s a 20min drive to malbrough which was nice to visit, lots of shops, restaurants, pubs etc. It cost £22 in a taxi to get back to pewsey which I thought was quite good value on a Sunday evening. I would love to stay here again if I am ever in need of accommodation in the area. Many thanks Helen

An idyllic location close to Avebury and The Ridgeway. The landscape is beautiful and offers sacred sites such as the Avebury Henge, Stonehenge, Silbury Hill and wonderful walking or cycling experiences. And...crop circles. A very peaceful hamlet ideal for those who like to get away from it all. Popular towns and cities, Oxford, Bath, Salisbury, Cheltenham and Gloucester are relatively nearby. For those without transport an hourly bus service runs to nearby towns.
My home is light and airy, peaceful and relaxing. A garden at the back of the house is available for guests to enjoy. The dining room is available for use when guests wish to eat in. You are guaranteed a warm welcome. Organic breakfast of muesli, fruit, yogurt, toast, tea and coffee is available, if booked in advance, at £5.00 per head.
  • Very welcoming host , sparkling clean and in an idyllic location near the Ridgeway.

  • Lizzie is a very lovely person, the house is clean and the location is amazing! Very quiet, close to avebury and close to the street/bus station.

    Anaya Stephanie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lizzie was a lovely host, very warm, thoughtful and accommodating, and always very quick to respond. It was a pleasure to stay in her delightful cottage, which is in a stunning location, just perfect for visiting the magical Avebury site and nearby attractions. I just wish I'd had longer to explore this fascinating part of the world.

    Justine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lizzie's cozy cottage in the beautiful English countryside of Wiltshire is a truly authentic experience of what it's like living in the countryside. I absolutely recommend her place if you want to explore this area. Close to Avebury and an easy busy ride into Swindon if you need to go shopping or socializing. Also The Winterbourne country pub is a 5 minute drive away, and a nice walk if you're walking, but also catch a bus most of the way, if you prefer. At night we made a fire and I read a novel. Quaint and cosy indeed! Thanks Lizzie ;)

  • Had a lovely stay. Lizzie is a great host and the place is perfectly placed in a quiet area off the main road a few minutes from Avebury. Really comfy and clean room and all you need for a few nights away. Hope to return again in the Spring.

Pewsey is situated between Stonehenge and Avebury and we are only 7 minutes walk from the railway station amid a wealth of outstanding countryside. Shops and restaurants all within walking distance in fact a car is not at all essential to your stay. Our little artists hideaway is a unique space full of quirky artworks in a garden of sculptures. It is very comfortable, warm and private and has easy access to all the amenities of the village.
The studio is tucked away behind our house in a private wooded garden. It is warm and cosy and we have made it super comfortable with everything you need for a romantic get away or relaxing quiet time. Even though we are in the middle of a big village you can get straight out into the countryside from the door and you have your own magical wooded path that leads to your house. There is a table tennis and BBQ for your use and your own part of the garden with outside table and chairs. The kitchen has basic appliances, an electric hob and an oven/microwave. It is well equipped with cooking utensils and I also provide basic things like tea, coffee, oils , conserves, sauces and some herbs. In the summer there are fresh herbs in the garden that you are welcome to use. There are two reasonably priced restaurants nearby, an excellent Indian and a great cafe on the canal. If you want more choice Marlborough is 7 miles away and stuffed with restaurants including Rick Steines. There is a bus service that will get you to Stonehenge and Avebury, Silbury Hill and Kennet Longbarrow and also Salisbury and Marlborough so we are perfectly situated if you do not drive or have a vehicle. We are professional artists and work from home so we are mostly around if you need us but if you don't, you won't see us. You will see the chocolate boys, Twix and Wispa, two friendly jack Russell’s who will like to meet you.
Pewsey is a large village that offers a wealth of facilities. It has two supermarkets, both about 3 minutes walk. A bakery, a Boots chemist and a post office..In september 2018 our newly refurbished, £8million sports center will open. It also has an interesting local heritage center that is open in the summer months.
  • Lovely place to stay if you enjoy art. Good selection of art books to read and drawings and sculpture to enjoy. Good welcome pack provided catering for all breakfast needs, good selection of teas and coffee provided. An electric blanket on the bed. Even in February the studio was warm and cosy.

  • Lucy's place is a stylish and cosy spot perfect for a weekend getaway. Some lovely pieces of art and proved to be a great hideout during storm Dennis!

    Tom2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely quiet space is well situated in central Pewsey with bus and rail links nearby, and an ideal base for exploring the delights of Pewsey Vale and further afield. Lucy is a very friendly accommodating host. The studio is at the side of the hosts bungalow with its own pathway and entrance. The bed in the mezzanine level is so very comfortable. There are facilities to cook if required. It is rare to find accommodation that will accept dogs so we were very glad to find this and I am sure we will re-visit.

    Jac2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy’s place is an ideal location for guests to enjoy great walks and popular destinations in the area. It is very private so ideal for a single person escape or a couples retreat. Lucy left sundries such as bread, milk, eggs etc and all amenities were suitable for cooking in if desired. Perfect for taking a well behaved dog as the garden is great for exploring and completely enclosed. Lucy’s 2 little dogs are very friendly and happy to run round with a new friend. I would highly recommend Lucy’s for value and amenities and hospitality.

    Karen2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this quirky studio which is very quiet and private. It was warm and cosy; the bed was comfy and the bed linen top quality; the en suite was sparkling clean, the shower was hot and easy to control; the eggs for breakfast were top of the range, just wonderful! I was there for a short break and found the location ideal. I didn’t want to eat out in the evenings (though there are plenty of recommendations) so was pleased to find that the supermarket was not far away. Pewsey is an interesting place and the countryside around is great for walking. I don’t have a car but the station was just a short walk from the property. So all in all perfect location. Lucy is a lovely host, very friendly and welcoming.

    Glynis2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • The art studio is really comfortable, great location for pewsey itself and Stonehenge only being a short drive away. The art is beautiful, it has a very cosy feel. We stayed in October and it was quite cold outside and rained but inside the art studio it was lovely and warm with the heaters and throws. So don’t be worried about staying here when it’s cold, you’ll be fine and warm! Lucy is a great host: warm, welcoming and so helpful. She went above and beyond. I Would recommend to anyone to stay here.

    Louise2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute cozy lovely studio. Lucy was so welcoming and friendly. We loved our stay!

  • Pewsey is a lovely country base to explore Wiltshire from. The Canal walks are gorgeous and close by. This was convenient because I didn't have a car and I spent a lot of time roaming. Great bus service into Salisbury and Marlborough. Garden views out your well lit cottage are a pleasure. Highly recommended. Lorraine, Canada

  • Lovely studio apartment in the country. Very quiet and peaceful. Well furnished and very comfortable. An excellent base from which to explore the towns of Marlborough, Devizes and Salisbury, and also the many prehistoric sites in the area. We had a splendid three days here and highly recommend the property and our hosts.

  • This is exactly how I'd describe a 5 star AirBnB. Well decorated, fresh and new but traditional-feeling, it was lovely and warm on a stormy weekend. Everything was clean, there was everything we needed to cook but there were also lots of pubs and restaurants a short distance away. Check-in was easy, communication was clear and prompt, and the garden was absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend - we'll certainly be coming back.

    Andreas2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Little Langside is a wonderfully appointed studio in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside. Its perfectly located to serve as a base to explore the prehistoric landscape that takes in the renowned World Heritage Site of Avebury, Silbury Hill and West Kennet Longbarrow. The apartment is a self-contained annex and faces out onto the garden at the rear of the hosts house and the fields beyond. It is a cozy, quiet, private and exceedingly comfortable. Sheila is a fabulous host, extremely friendly and thoughtful. Her local tips and recommendations are right on the mark. We spent a lovely couple of relaxed evenings as Sheila's guests and would not hesitate to book again. Two thumbs up!

    Daniel2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in this beautiful annexe, tucked away in the countryside. Sheila was a great host and we had everything we needed. Would certainly recommend as a great place to stay for a relaxing getaway.

    Toby2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila's place is beautifully appointed, cozy and a wonderful point from which to explore the glorious countryside of Wiltshire, with multiple paths, trails, forests and hills all right on the doorstep. An incredibly gracious host Sheila kindly drove us into town on our arrival as we had come in without provisions, and the place was immaculate, with incredible views. A small asterisk would be to make sure you drive as taxis are incredibly hard to secure and there are no bus services on the weekend, but this does not detract from the perfect stay with Sheila!

    Matt2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully furnished, well equipped, cosy and sparkling clean. Very peaceful and ideally placed for walking, cycling, visiting local pubs or a trip into pretty Marlborough

    Ginny2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila’s place was a total delight to stay in - cozy, homely and stylish, it had everything we needed for a few idyllic days in the countryside. Great location too, the start of many beautiful walks were only a short drive away - very handy! Thank you Sheila for having us, hope to be back soon!

    Aishwarya2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Found this gem of place to stay at really late notice. Stayed for 2 nights and was perfect. The location is tranquil and beautiful with views across the countryside. I didn't see the friendly chickens until I was about to leave :( but this was due to the bad weather (You have now made me want chickens myself one day!) Within an hours drive of main towns it is perfect for visiting places like Swindon and Salisbury. Overall we had a brilliant time and wish it was longer! Thanks again x

  • Lori was very welcoming and amenable The room and space is fantastic value for money! Lori was really helpful in pointing out the local area and places of interest to me. Unfortunately due to ill health I had to cut my stay short but will definitely consider booking for a future stay.

    Sam2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lori's place is a beautiful, calm, creative environment and the perfect place for a relaxing break. The bedroom overlooks the countryside, the self serve breakfast hits the spot and the accommodation is within easy reach of interesting towns and ancient sites (Avebury etc). For creative folk and bookbinders Lori also runs a programme of courses in her studio with internationally recognised tutors so I will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

My place is close to great views and art and culture. You’ll love my place because of the location, the ambience, and the outdoors space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. Close to Marlborough, Stonehenge and Devizes. Pewsey Station is 2 miles away with direct trains to London Paddington. (55 mins) We also overlook the village pub which is excellent for evening meals/lunches.
Set in this rural village two miles from Pewsey Town, this pretty cottage over looks the village Green, and is close to the Local Village Pub for drinks and suppers.
  • Very friendly and comfortable place to stay. Excellent breakfast. Great location and lovely decor in the house.

  • The place is lovely in a really nice location! You will feel at home immediately when you meet Sophie and her husband. The cottage is nice and cosy and they will do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I can really recommend staying with Sophie!

    Ruben2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay at Sophie's place. The room is clean and bright, the picture does not do it justice. The bed is very comfortable. Box cottage is gorgeous. It's a picturesque traditional thatched roof cottage with beams across the ceiling and has so much character. Sophie welcomed so much that I felt like one of the family. I would recommend a stay at Sophie's place and would come back again if I'm in the area.

    Becky2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a relaxing stay at Sophie’s Box Cottage. It was lovely to be welcomed with refreshing homemade elderflower drinks and Martin’s delicious fresh homemade bread in the morning was a delight!

Newly renovated stylish accommodation with two separate bedrooms in the market town of Marlborough. Easy walking distance to the town centre. Great location for accessing Avebury, Savernake Forest, the Ridgeway, Sustrans Cycle Path and many other amenities. On-site parking (2 cars).
Recently renovated private annex. Stylish decor and open plan living. Two seperate bedrooms both with en-suites. Toddler bed available if required. Fully fitted kitchen with washer dryer, over, microwave, kettle and cooking equipment (including crockery, pans, cutlery and glassware).
The High Street in Marlborough is one of the widest in the UK and lined on both sides with characterful old buildings housing an array of high quality shops including Waitrose and a selection of great restaurants. Walkers will enjoy the nearby Ridgeway and is close to Savernake Forest, which is used by families all year round. Head here during late spring for the bluebells and in autumn for the fantastic colours. The North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty encompasses much of the countryside around Marlborough and there are ample walking and cycling routes throughout this area. This includes the Sustrans Cycle Route 482 which is only 2 minutes ride from the accommodation. Marlborough is also located very close to the Avebury World Heritage Site and Silbury Hill. Among Marlborough’s many claims to fame is the mysterious Merlin’s Mound which can be found within the grounds of Marlborough College and is the reputed burial place of the wizard Merlin. The Duchess of Cambridge also attended this famous college. A real draw is the annual Marlborough Literature Festival, an increasingly important event with something for all ages. Importantly guests can walk to the Marlborough College Summer School, which attracts lots of people every year and hosts some great activities and workshops for adults and children. Finally, another popular annual event is the Marlborough Open Studios, usually held over several weekends in July, where local artists open up their studios, both in Marlborough and the neighbouring areas.

Rob was very flexible and accommodating when our plans shifted and he had kindly left some food and essentials which were a nice touch. Really did not disappoint and a great base we would use again to explore the local area.

This 400+ year old house is practically situated in the middle of the stone circle. Use of Ethernet. No cooking and no smoking. Huge backyard. This is for one single room, with one single bed for one person with accessible shower and toilet, plus breakfast. Stays could be up to 3 days at a time. Closeby is the only pub in the village, the Red Lion and a small convenience store.
  • Great location for visiting Avebury. The room is great value and the hosts are very hospitable. There is a separate shower room for guests.

Henk is a wonderful and generous host, and knows a lot about the area which he shares if one is interested. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything was great!

A beautifully renovated, wonderfully positioned converted chapel with large private garden in one of the area's prettiest villages. Wootton Rivers is within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural beauty, with beautiful walks along the Kennet & Avon Canal, the Ridgeway and Savernake Forest. The village has a 16th century thatched pub, very close to the Chapel. We are also on the National Cycle Network route 4 and near to great restaurants such as Stein's, and Dan's in Marlborough.
Perfect for couples looking for a quiet, romantic retreat or young families with one or two small children, the master bedroom is open to the stairs (stair gates top and bottom if required) with bedroom 2 off the main bedroom. (You are welcome to book for three adults as long as you are happy that the person in bedroom 2 must access the stairs and bathroom through the main bedroom.) The kitchen is fully equipped including dish washer and washing machine. There is also a heated airer, iron and ironing board at the proeprty. The shower room has underfloor heating. There are French doors to a large, private fenced garden over looking fields that often have cows in during the spring and summer. If you're lucky you might also spot a barn owl circulating the field at dusk. There is a seating area just outside the French doors so you can enjoy the views. Perfect for those bringing a dog as the garden is securely fenced (but please remove any dog mess). For those bringing a dog we ask that you are happy they cannot go upstairs at the property (there are stargates provided for this).
A friendly village community in a picturesque village with an extensive village green and play park off just around the corner from the Chapel
  • We had the such a lovely relaxing weekend at Emily's place. The accommodation was spotless and very homely with everything we could need for a great weekend away. Plenty of recommendations of things to do in the area was a nice touch, as was the welcome pack... We would definitely recommend this place, it exceeded our expectations

    Joanne2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect just as the pictures and description described, lovely that the heating was on when we arrived on a cold rainy February day. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise and kitchen had everything we needed. The village was gorgeous with lots of thatched cottages, a bit like a chocolate box. Walking along the canal was an added bonus (even if a bit muddy at this time Feb-20). Would definitely stay here again if looking in this area.

The property is a stunning self-contained thatched barn, with a south facing aspect and beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. It has been newly refurbished with a stylish modern interior and is set in a quiet country lane in the peaceful village of West Overton, three miles from the medieval market town of Marlborough and on the doorstep of the famous Neolithic sites of Avebury, Silbury Hill and the Kennet Longbarrow.
Forming part of a thatched barn structure, The Barn at Holly Lodge is completely separate and private from our house and is situated to the right-hand side as you enter the large graveled courtyard and has it’s own private entrance. The barn has been converted into a beautifully stylish self-contained accommodation with a large open-plan kitchen/dining/living room area, one large bedroom and a shower room. The accommodation has been decorated throughout in Farrow and Ball colours which blend beautifully with the exposed beams and sarsen stones. The shaker style kitchen is fully fitted with an electric oven and hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, toaster, kettle, microwave and all you need if you fancy cooking for yourself. The dining area has beautiful views over the sunny south facing courtyard garden and surrounding fields. The living room area contains a window seat and large luxury sofa – ideal for sitting down and putting your feet up after your day out exploring the area. In the bedroom the original sarsen stone walls have been exposed to provide a large bedroom containing a stylish king-sized bed. The bathroom has a large luxury walk-in power shower enclosed within a unique tapestry of tiles, a heated towel rail and quality fittings. The Barn is kept warm and cozy with thermostatically controlled electric heaters. Outside there is a private seating area for enjoying al fresco meals or a glass of wine on warm, sunny days.
The Barn is situated in a quiet, pretty and tranquil village forming part of the historic World Heritage site of Avebury, set amongst the unique chalk down lands in the Kennet Valley. 3 miles to the east is the medieval town of Marlborough, which has an abundance of shops, cafes and restaurants, including Rick Stein which has recently opened in the High Street. It hosts an annual jazz festival in July and a literary festival in September and is also famous for Marlborough College, with it’s annual Summer School over July and August. West Overton is surrounded by rolling chalk downs with lovely beautiful walks including the beginning of the famous Ridgeway. Guest can enjoy a 5 minute walk to the local pub – The Bell at West Overton – which provides locally sourced, freshly prepared meals, with an extensive wine cellar and gorgeous local ales. Other pubs are within a short drive of West Overton. Within walking distance there are many ancient sites such as the world famous stone circles of Avebury, the ancient burial chambers of Kennet Long Barrow and Silbury Hill, the largest prehistoric man-made structure in Europe. Other areas of interest include Savernake Forest, Blue Bell Woods and the market town of Devizes which is the home to the Kennet & Avon Canal with its’ famous Caen locks. The village is also a perfect place to explore areas further afield by car such as Stonehenge (45 minutes) Bath (1 hour), Bristol (1 hour) Salisbury (1 hour and 15 minutes), Oxford (1 hour and 30 minutes). Many villages of the outstanding Cotswolds’ area are within an hour’s drive away.
  • Great place, really enjoyable stay

    Dan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel and Nick were excellent hosts and always available if necessary. The beautiful thatched barn conversion, traditional from the outside, but modern, comfortable and stylish within, was ideal. We particularly appreciated the little treats (home made brownies and flapjacks) as well as the granola and eggs for breakfast. The barn was well located for exploring Avebury, Marlborough and the lovely countryside. We really look forward to our return visit.

    Michael2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish, hi-spec annex mixing traditional country cottage style with contemporary touches. Really well equipped kitchen, ideal for anyone self catering and comfortable, cozy feel too. Lovely stay for us and our baby.

Rachel was brilliant in communicating and putting my mind at ease for all of my concerns- and I will always be greatful for the welcome :)! The Barn - is perfection, every little aspect. Beautiful newly renovated modern, thatched cottage. Very large one bedroom on the first floor and kitchen sitting room on the ground floor and brand-new contemporary bathroom on the lower floor. It’s probably one of the oldest houses in Pewsey. Right in the heart of the village. Walking distance to the local amenities of grocery stores, post office restaurants and the train station with direct trains to London. Beautiful country walks straight from the cottage.
Beautifully renovated so the cottage is as new inside but has all the features of a cosy cottage. Brand-new kitchen and bathroom and digital heating. Bedding and towels are soft and luxurious and I have tried to leave every amenity for your comfort. Teas and coffees ( Nespresso) provided.
  • I had a very cosy and comfortable night stay in Sophie’s beautiful cottage with my two-year-old. It’s such a lovely conversion with a very luxurious bathroom. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking dinner and breakfast. We were very grateful for the tea/coffee selection as we didn’t manage to make it to the shops before bedtime. The cottage is full of character, it reminded me of my family home where I grew up in Suffolk especially the beams and low ceilings! We have family in the village so it was super convenient and only a short walk to the co-op. We’ll definitely be back.

    Laura Jane2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cosy cottage makes for a wonderful stay in the gorgeous Wiltshire countryside. We stayed for Valentine’s Day and the cottage was perfect for the two of us. The cottage is well placed for countryside walks, and despite the weather the next day we explored some of the local countryside. For anyone with limited mobility, the stairs are very steep and uneven. Sophie is very considerate and the AirBnB comes complete with many little extra touches to make the stay truly 5 stars.

This idyllic location is a place to find peace, healing and connection to nature. Set just below the ancient Ridgeway, close to World Heritage sites Avebury & Stonehenge with the attractive town of Marlborough close by. Salisbury, Bath & Oxford and the attractive towns and villages of the Cotswolds are within easy distance. Superb countryside; an area of outstanding natural beauty. Situated in a quiet hamlet with fine views, it is excellent for walking and relaxing.
Light and airy space situated on strong energy lines, it lends itself to a great sense of well being.
Berwick Bassett is a hamlet, which means that there are only a few houses and no amenities (except for a post box!). There are no shops, cafes, restaurants or pubs. However, there is a community shop, a pub and daytime cafes in Avebury. The absence of the above ensures peace and tranquillity and the occasional hooting of an owl.
  • Lizzie was an excellent hostess, friendly and really helpful. I booked a double room for a day (10-4) to read and be quiet. I wasn’t sure if Lizzie would accommodate my unusual request but welcomed me unreservedly. A lovely way to spend a day just reading and sleeping.

The Byre is the perfect place to relax and explore the beautiful county of Wiltshire. On one level, it is a newly renovated, self-contained wing of an 18th century thatched cottage. The Byre is convenient for Marlborough, Bath, Salisbury, the K & A Canal, Stonehenge and Avebury. As Pewsey station is only a few minutes walk away, day trips to London (1 hr) and Bath are easy.
The Byre is a beautiful conversion of an old milking parlour and consists of a double bedroom, a small twin bedroom, a kitchen/diner/sitting room and a bathroom. It has been luxuriously fitted out with White Company and Mitre bed linen, towels, feather duvets and pillows, John Lewis beds and sofas and high quality new furniture. There is free Wi-Fi, a Smart television with Netflix, parking for one car and a small outside seating area with a table and chairs solely for guests. The accommodation is cosy and as neat as a pin. The Owners: Maggy, Barbara and Bob have been friends for over forty years and decided to buy a house in Pewsey together for their retirement. We are very proud of our beautiful home and garden and offer a very warm welcome to our guests. Maggy and Barbara are classically trained musicians so you might hear the (delightful!!) strains of music wafting around.
Pewsey has a surprising number of amenities, all within a few minutes walk of The Byre, including a swimming pool, a bakery, a butcher, several supermarkets, a Post Office, a bank, three cafes, a Heritage Centre, a library, a wool shop, several playgrounds and some excellent public houses. Within a minutes walk, there is The Scotchel Nature Reserve and some delightful walks up to the Kennet & Avon Canal and Pewsey Wharf. The Pewsey Vale is an area of outstanding beauty and the hills provide many enjoyable walks and bridle paths. There are excellent transport links with buses outside the house, north to Marlborough and south to Salisbury. Trains (4 minutes walk away) go to West Country and 60 minutes into Paddington.
  • We (four adults + two toddlers) had a lovely stay in the cottage. It's not massive, but it's beautifully laid out - for example, the kitchen packs everything you need into a small space - and really comfortable. We appreciated the loan of a cot and high chair, and really liked being so near the station and everything in the village. We would highly recommend staying here.

  • I had a very pleasant weekend here with friends from Uni. The place was spotless and had lovely extra touches like designer towels and throws, and used eco-friendly products. Maggie and Barbara couldnt have been more helpful and even suggested a local Sunday lunch for us (which was delicious!) Would definitely return again with friends or as a couple

We are located less than a mile ,a short walk away from the famous Avebury stone circle also Silbury hill and the Kennet long barrow are within easy walking distance
You are very welcome to relax in the garden and take in the lovely view of Silbury Hill
Our view of silbury hill is second to none.
  • Mrs Dixon's B&B is an excellent location for exploring Avebury and the related sites in the area. It's also close enough to Stonehenge and Salisbury, and not far from Bath. Our en-suite room was spotlessly clean and nicely furnished. The bed was comfortable, and at night the occasional passing car was the only sound. We slept well. I especially appreciated the collection of books about the area, providing insights about the prehistory and geology of the area. The breakfast table was a cornucopia of choices, and our breakfasts were well-prepared and filling. The real reason to stay here, however, is Angela's warm hospitality, attention to detail, and knowledge about the area's sites. She contacted us in advance to find out our breakfast preferences, and she responded promptly to several questions I had. I especially enjoyed our morning conversations and her insights and suggestions. I look forward to visiting the area again, and would happily stay at Angela's place again.

    Tom2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay with Angela...we were spoilt with our breakfast options...5 star genuine hospitality..

    Denny2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Well, what can I say that doesn't sound like exaggerating! Firstly it is easy to find even if you haven't read the directions properly. There is plenty of room to park too. However, it is when you get inside that the fun begins. It its a beautiful family home with lots of interesting pictures of the host's family and lives. The bedroom was beautifully decorated with lovely bedding and towels with a delightful, sparkling clean en-suite. The view from the bedroom was of Silbury Hill. We were given an excellent recommendation for somewhere to eat that evening. Warning though. Don't eat too much so you can indulge in one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! I requested beforehand if black pudding could be served with the full English which it was. Everything was beautifully cooked in front of us and the table was completely covered in all sorts of breakfast foods making it hard to choose. Finally managed that hard job though. Angela also let me take a photograph of her lovely kitchen. Avebury is close enough to walk to but if you are doing a walk around the stones factor the walk back. Ended up walking nearer nine miles than six. I can't praise Angela highly enough. I hope to come back again.

  • Angela was a charming host and the breakfast was really delicious. It was a perfect location for being close to Marlborough

  • Staying with Angela, her lovely family and her dog, Puzzle, was so wonderful. I stayed 3 nights. . It was truly the best! They were all so welcoming, open and friendly! I felt like I was part of the family. Their home is beautiful to look at and stay in, my room was so comfortable, well-furnished and the shower was excellent, it is very clean and well decorated and the breakfast and cakes were mouth-watering good. Angela gave great directions to get into the village and even walked with me one morning with her dog. I cannot say enough good things about them! When I return to Avebury, I will without a doubt stay with them again! Thank you, Angela, for the joyous time with you and your family.

This small town house in the beautiful, historic market town of Marlborough is ideal for visiting the High Street with its markets, shops, pubs and restaurants. Nearby you will find Avebury, Silbury Hill, Kennet Barrow and Stonehenge. The house has 2 bedrooms with upstairs bathroom, a lounge diner for eating and relaxing with Wifi or TV, a small conservatory and garden and your own parking space in the private car park to the rear. There are some free spaces on the road outside the house.
The house (with parking) is a short walk from the High Street which makes it ideal for a weekend away for shopping and eating out without worrying about driving home. It is also an ideal home from home if working in the area. It is the perfect base for visiting the Wiltshire countryside and sights - Avebury, Kennet Barrow, Silbury Hill, Stonehenge. The historic cities of Salisbury and Winchester are not far. The New Forest and South Coast are near enough for a day trip. It is an ordinary modern house but we hope we've made it nice for a long or short stay. The garden is small but quite private and somewhere to sit outside or for a drink before heading up to the High Street for dinner.
The house is 5 minutes walk from the High Street. It is in a residential area in a busy part of the town, not far from pubs and shops, but the main shops and restaurants are in the centre. Marlborough itself is an historic market town with a rich history, regular markets, a jazz festival, 2 Mop Fairs, shops, cafes and restaurants, including a Rick Stein's.

Built and much altered during the Neolithic period, roughly between 2850 BC and 2200 BC, the henge survives as a huge circular bank and ditch, encircling an area that includes part of Avebury village. Within the henge is the largest stone circle in Britain - originally of about 100 stones - which in turn encloses two smaller stone circles. • I highly recommended staying here! We loved staying at this beautifully remodeled thatched home. Jan & Lee's hospitality went above and beyond the average. They welcomed us warmly and upon check out, they gave us extra time in the morning to fill out postcards to mail to our friends back home. Be sure to follow the "check-in" process while you still have a good connection and preview her detailed photos the directions to her home. They live in a little village where their house doesn't show up while driving around and using GPS. There is hardly any phone reception out there, so be prepared! If possible, you will want to arrive during daylight, because to see this amazing thatched home is part of the delight of staying here. As are their two lovely cats, ducks and they shared their chickens freshly laid eggs so we had a yummy breakfast! So grateful we stayed here.

  • Honestly could not fault our stay. The house was clean with thoughtful touches. Alexandra was easy to communicate with, including some very helpful directions! Checking in and out couldn't have been easier. Would recommend.

  • The house was exactly what we needed! The kitchen was adorable and Alexandra was very accommodating. There were also movies for night time and a washing machine and dryer were available for use.

  • Lovely experience. Easy to find, a nice clean cosy cottage. Alexandra was nice enough to leave some milk, crumpets and jam for us too. Thank you.

  • Lovely house, easy to find, good communication and will definitely recommend - thank you!

  • This cottage is the perfect place to enjoy the ancient sites around Avebury & nearby Marlborough & Beckhampton. It is stylish ( shabby chic country garden feel), spotlessly clean & very cosy with comfy beds/duvets and lots of thoughtful touches including crumpets & jam on arrival, a lovely selection of teas, fluffy towels & toiletries. We would recommend this cottage to anyone wishing to explore this fascinating part of Wiltshire. Though the cottage has no garden there are open fields in front of it giving it a spacious rural feel. Horse riders regularly passed by our front room window. We loved this little cottage & definitely plan to return to it and see more of the local area.

  • Very nice place! Me and my guest enjoyed it! Also very nice area to have a walk. Accommodation looks better than on the pictures! We were surprised when we came first. Thank you

Welcome to my gorgeous, characterful and rather quirky, 1740's detached cottage. I am told it was built to accommodate English Army Officers during the construction of the adjacent canal The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful Vale of the White Horse and the Kennet and Avon, which is just a stone's throw away. The property is situated on the edge of Pewsey village, with a great pub across the road. It's about 5 miles by car to Marlborough and 15mins into the village on foot
The main bathroom in on the ground floor but there is also toilet and sink on the first floor. The largest bedroom is also downstairs, where you will find a beautiful carved wood four poster. The first floor has a double room and also a small double and the attic room has two single beds. Please note, this room is not suitable for young children as the stairs to gain access are very steep In the cottage, you will find a cosy living room, dining room (with a large table while will accommodate 7 people) garden / music room and nice sized kitchen Outside, there is a very pretty cottage garden, through which you gain access to the property. And when you go out of the back gate, if you continue up the private lane, you will find the Pewsey Wharf Boat Club and truly lovely walks through the woods and along canal
There is loads to do in the area, especially if you enjoy sightseeing. There are some great pubs and cafes in Pewsey itself, plus a large Co-Op and various other shops. You are close to Stonehenge and the wonderful cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury. The gorgeous Marlborough is just 5 miles away with it's great shops, interesting live music scene and some fantastic restaurants, including Rick Steins. I have a folder in the property with full details of what is on in the area, to make sure you don't miss out on anything
  • Wonderful stay at a beautiful quirky cottage. Loved it

  • Lovey place with very homey touches. Great for the weekend away with friends/family including dogs (cottage equipped with dog leads, dog bed and dog bowls). We felt very welcomed and we loved personalised note and dog treats on the arrival :) Good location - next to the canal with lots of options for nice countryside walks and great pub with an amazing food just a minute away from the cottage. One thing we were lacking was the dishwasher which made catering and washing for 6 adults, a child and a toddler plus two dogs a bit challenging - luckily there is a vast selection of crockery within the cottage.

Peaceful character house inside the neolithic Avebury Stone Circle, sleeping 6+ in two large bedrooms and separate reception room with sofabed; with conservatory dining area, pretty garden and superb views over the stones at front and rear. Perfectly located for exploring Avebury; Silbury Hill, West Kennett Long Barrow, Swallowhead Spring and the Ridgeway walkable from the front door. Ideal for families, couples or groups, with opportunities for walking, cycling, retreats or simple relaxation.
You will have the house to yourself – it is spacious but has a cosy cottage feeling with wood floors and a wood burner in one of the two downstairs receptions. The conservatory makes a pleasant dining space beside the well-equipped kitchen. There are two double bedrooms on the first floor: a large front master room overlooking the Cove Stones with a comfortable king size bed and TV, and a delightful rear bedroom overlooking the garden and Sun Circle and the Avenue in the distance - on request, this room can be set up with either twin beds or as a comfortable king size bed. The bathroom has a luxurious shower and large bath. The downstairs front reception room has a good quality double sofa bed and can be separated off with glazed doors. There is good internet and wifi in the house and a home cinema projector for TV. There is a second toilet downstairs. The garden is private and fully contained when the side gate is closed, with several places to sit and eat out in good weather - including a sun-trap patio and a shaded seating area. There is a very small pond and on request the cabin/office can be used for working or for relaxation and quiet contemplation. The garden even has its own mini stone circle!
Avebury is a National Trust site, within the Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site. As well as the 4,500 year old henge (a circular deep ditch and tall bank enclosing the stone circle - which you can explore freely) it has a lovely 16th century Manor house. There are museums explaining the history of the site and lunch and tea rooms, National Trust shop, The Henge Shop and Elements gift shop, an excellent community shop for provisions and a popular pub within a minute's walk. There are many good local pubs, most serving excellent food and a Rick Stein restaurant in Marlborough (details provided in the house manual). The picturesque market town of Marlborough is 10 minutes and Devizes 15 minutes drive and the Kennet and Avon Canal is nearby. Many important ancient sites (The Avebury Avenue, Silbury Hill, the West Kennet Long Barrow, the source of the Kennett, the ancient Ridgeway path, etc) are a pleasant walk or cycle or a short drive from the house. Other features of the World Heritage Site, eg, Stonehenge, Woodhenge, Durrington Walls are within 20-24 miles (40 minutes drive). Wiltshire has many attractions, including walking the Ridgeway (turn right from the front door to stroll up to the Ridgeway, with access to the Sanctuary, Barbury Castle etc for the more ambitious). The beautiful cathedral town of Salisbury and Bath (with the famous Roman Baths) are both within an hour’s drive, as is Bristol and a bit longer to Bristol airport. Slightly further afield, Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge etc are within 1.5 hours drive.
  • Cute house in a unique location, right in the heart of the Avebury stone circle. Special mention to Stephen our host, who was very accommodating when my partner fell ill. I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Rachel2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful and in a magical spot! The beds are comfy and the house has everything you might need for your trip! X

    Sarah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Stephen’s house is amazing. Waking up and looking out of the bedroom window to see the Avebury was fabulous. The house itself is homely, comfortable and peaceful with a really nice vibe. We slept in the front bedroom and the bed was really comfortable. The log burner in the lounge was great and much needed after a wet and windy walk! Thank you so much for a lovely, peaceful couple of days, Stephen!

    Kate2020-02-22T00:00:00Z

  • We had the most amazing time at Stephen’s cottage. He really thought of everything. Anything you could need and more here. The location, friendly neighbors, The Red Lion, the shops, the history...Truly magical. Can’t wait to come back!

    Julia2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location! So peaceful in the center of the stone circle, with many amazing walks right outside the front door! Stephen is knowledgeable about the area and his selection of books is fascinating and inspiring!

Emily's Cottage is a charming 16th Century thatched cottage with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a lovely secluded garden set in the heart of Manton village, just a short walk or drive from the historic market town of Marlborough with it’s shops, bars and restaurants. The cottage is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, a short drive from Avebury, Bath, Stonehenge and the Cotswolds.
Emily's Cottage is a traditional 16th century property with beamed ceilings and exposed brickwork throughout, yet modernised to a high standard with all the facilities to suit a family, business professional or group of friends. The cottage comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, large living room with open fireplace, separate dining room and a beautiful secluded garden with sunny terrace for drinks and BBQs. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes dishwasher, fridge, cooker, microwave and washing machine. The living room is spacious with plenty of comfy seating to relax and unwind. It has a large inglenook fireplace with woodburner and French doors leading onto the garden. The separate dining room has seating for 6 people. The Master bedroom has a double bed with fitted wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath. Off the hallway, there is a second shower room. The second bedroom has two single beds (with additional fold-out guest bed as required). Bedroom 3 is a lovely cosy room with a single bed. All the bedrooms have 100% cotton bed linen and fluffy towels. The terrace is surrounded by established flower beds and a BBQ is available.
Manton is a pretty Wiltshire village situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty yet just a 5 minute drive into Marlborough or an easy 20 minute walk along a quiet lane (opposite the cottage) to reach Marlborough High Street and all its amenities. Close to the cottage is a large recreation field with playground and the River Kennet running through it for a paddle! There are many wonderful walks and cycle routes straight from the front door and along the downs above Marlborough (maps and books on walks are provided at the cottage). The Wiltshire White horses (there is one in Marlborough!), Avebury stone circle, Silbury Hill, Savernake Forest and Kennet and Avon Canal and many other historic sites are all within easy reach. In spring the local Blue Bell woods (West Woods) are a particular delight. The thriving market town of Marlborough offers independent and chain boutiques and high-end fashion & beauty stores including Jigsaw, Mint Velvet, Jaeger, Space NK, Joules and Seasalt. There is a market every Wednesday and Saturday. Marlborough has a large Waitrose on the High Street and Tesco at the Marlborough Business Park off the Salisbury Road. There are also plenty of great places to eat and drink in Marlborough and surrounding areas from cafes and pubs to restaurants including Rick Steins on Marlborough High Street and Dan's at The Crown in The Parade. 'Bunces' café is a particular favourite and the small plate restaurant 'Sarsens' is also recommended. You also have a choice of great pubs including 'The Who'd a Thought It' in nearby Lockeridge, 'The Bell' in West Overton, and 'The Bell' in Ramsbury which recently won pub of the year 2017/18. Manton itself has an excellent gastro pub called The Oddfellows. They serve really good home-cooked food and It's a stone's throw from the cottage. In the summer it has a sunny terrace and a great children's play area from which you can access the recreation ground. The pub is very family friendly.
  • The cottage is in a fantastic position a 20 min walk from pretty Marlborough High Street. The layout is so good with a great size lounge, galley kitchen and separate dining room which housed our party of five easily. The cottage is clean and pretty with a lovely pub perfectly positioned right next door, who do a mean Rhubarb and Ginger gin! We had a wonderful time lounging by the open fire, playing board games and eating mountains of cheese.

  • Alison and Chris's cottage was such a cosy place for our three night get away. There was plenty of space for 5 adults and we had everything we needed. We certainly made the most of the wood burning fire. Great for drying off after wet and windy visits to Stonehenge and Avebury. We visited Oddfellows pub in the village and enjoyed some tasty food and delicious red wine. Would definitely return, maybe in the summer for a bit of sunshine. It would be nice to sit out in the lovely garden. Thanks very much Alison and Chris.

    Chloe2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Alison’s place. The cottage is beautiful, cosy and relaxing - great for lazy days but also a fab base for exploring the area. Alison’s communication was brilliant and she shared extensive information about the area - places to visit, restaurants and cafes etc. check-in also couldn’t have been easier. All in all a great experience - hope we can visit again!

    Rachel2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay in the cottage made all the more better by the excellent local information provided. The place was spotless and so cosy. We only stayed the weekend but it really felt like a home away from home. If we are in the area again we will definitely stay again

    Sophie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is perfection. Superbly equipped, warm and cosy with plenty of space. We cycled, walked, ran - straight from the house. It's a short walk into Marlborough. Some of us also took Alison up on the offer of massage and it was well worth the extra fee for such a treat. I think we'll be back.

    Mary2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

Our private annex is a perfect base from which to enjoy a quiet country escape in a rural village. Light and comfy en-suite bedroom with fantastic views, walking routes & parking. Affiliated with the Red Lion East Chisenbury, a Michelin-starred pub & guesthouse which provides some of the same amenities. Ten minutes outside of central Pewsey, close to Stonehenge/Avebury and well situated to visit Salisbury & Bath. 15 minute walk to another great village pub.
Our space is ideal for anyone looking to experience country life here in beautiful Wiltshire. The annex is located on our private property but detached from our home, giving you plenty of privacy but leaving us still accessible should you need, and ample parking. The annex has an entry hall, breakfast bar (kettle, fridge, microwave, toaster), en-suite shower room, large, light bedroom and a private deck looking out to the back garden. Splendid views of our garden and the countryside, and you may spot the chickens, ducks and horses the neighbours keep you during your stay. Everyone find the Temperpedic memory foam mattress quite comfortable. Bring your own breakfast or we can arrange a discounted hot breakfast at the Michelin-starred Red Lion pub in East Chisenbury (if booked through us on arrival) You are welcome to bring your dog- there are plenty of great walks in the area and a couple straight from the annex door. There is a map in the room for you to borrow as you like. Please know, however, if you'd like to bring your pet we collect £20 cash deposit to hold against the room cleanliness on departure.
Our village is a small rural community. You will find our little country lane and the bridalway that leads to our house absolutely charming and quintessentially English- and better yet, the property is affiliated with one of the best pubs in the country (just 10 minutes away) that you can visit to give you the full experience of Wiltshire country life. There are plenty of walking paths beginning right from the front door to explore some of the immediate countryside. A bit further afield (20 minutes) is Stonehenge or Avebury, as well as the cities of Bath and Salisbury for day trips.
  • Our stay was cut short due to car problems but we still managed to have a good time. The accommodation is very clean and very well located for walks and dinners in local pubs.

    Eric2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely small apartment in the country, perfect for two humans and, for us, two doggies. We purposely chose this property because of the absence of a kitchen - no temptation to get involved in cooking. The breakfast bar, with toaster, microwave and fridge, was perfect. The weather was pretty rough one day and we didn’t fancy going out for food, but we had back-up microwavable meals so that work out well. Lovely warm and cosy. Shower was great. Nice garden - weather didn’t suit making much use of it. Out of the way, which is what we wanted, but only a short car journey from local amenities, pub etc. Tip: take a torch because it’s really dark at night (which is great).

    Daniel2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place, we had a lovely stay. The annex is very private, the bed was comfy and the shower was great. Would definitely recommend staying here, along with a trip to the red lion restaurant as well.

  • A lovely space & location. Very nice decor, very comfortable bed, a great shower & friendly host- Highly recommended.

  • What a great place. It was so comfortable, cozy, super clean and a nice design. Completely quiet and the most comfy bed. There were fruit trees and a garden outside our window, truly a perfect English country retreat. I am so happy I found Brittany's place because it really is a situated in a magical place in the country with great pubs, resturants and historical places, the most special being Avebury. Thank you Brittany for offeingr to make reservations at the Red Lion, a Michelin Star restaurant and all. We hope to be back.

    Shannon2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • A great space, easy to find, good parking outside the property and a super comfy bed and linen. We had a great one night stay on our way back to Cornwall from a wedding. We had our dog with us (great walks just outside the annex) . A very peaceful and relaxing spot and the perfect place to unwind after a busy time. Brittany was easy to communicate with. The only note I would add is that kitchen facilities are limited to a microwave and fridge (we did not check the listing fully so it was our fault that we assumed there was more) so be prepared if the local pubs you can walk to are not open (Sunday evenings) and you are taking your own food as there is not an oven or hob and you need to wash up in the bathroom sink. Overall a great experience and space. Thank-you Brittany. We would love to visit again.

Splendid views, great location for walking if weather had been kinder. Kirsten was a great communicator and host. Very easy to come and go as we pleased. Plenty of help on area and places to visit and eat. Excellent.

  • We had a fabulous weekend at Mill House. Kirsten has thought of everything to make it a really comfortable and cosy stay. The room itself is spacious with wonderful light and views and was spotlessly clean. It was lovely to have so much for breakfast - Kirsten provided us with cereal, fruit, milk, fresh bread, butter and jams. Plus a Nespresso machine, you couldn't ask for anymore. I really loved the roll-top bath too - luxury. It is a great location for exploring the countryside and we had a good meal at Rick Stein's restaurant in Marlborough (they do a lunch deal) and had lots of walks. Highlight was West Kennett Long Barrow watching the swallows dive in and out of the entrance. Hope we can come back to Mill House again soon.
