Places to stay in Oare

Places to stay in Oare
A special place. Direct beach access; wonderful views; spectacular sunsets. Beautifully converted and well equipped. A perfect retreat. A stroll from the Sportsman Restaurant, Oyster Pearl Pub and near lovely Whitstable for shops and restaurants. Perfect in summer and then winter brings its own delights. Sea mists and birds, walks on the beach and marshes. Afternoons with a book in front of the fire.
The house has two double bedrooms, a luxury bathroom (with bath and walk in shower) a large open plan kitchen and living space. There is a log burning stove for cosy winter breaks. There is a lovely beach garden with a large deck, outdoor sofas and dining area. There is a record player so if you have records you want to hear again, bring them with you! The house is only really big enough for 4 people. So no additional overnight guests please.
Seasalter is a quiet beach side village. There are 2 shops in walking distance. The Michelin starred Sportsman restaurant is a 20 minute walk along the beach. The Oyster Pearl serves good home cooked food and is 5 minutes down the road. Whitstable is 3 miles away and has lots of independent shops, a fish market, harbor and many restaurants and pubs. Its famous for its oyster and seafood.
  • This is the third time we have stayed at Chris’s beautiful chalet and it was as wonderful as ever. This time we stayed with our three month old baby, and it was more than spacious for a small family. The location is amazing, and we walked into whitstable along the beach, as well as to the Sportsman for a lovely lunch. Thank you Chris!

    Joanna2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Chris’ place is set in a beautiful and scenic location and it has a cosy and stylish interior. This was our second stay and we are already talking about our next trip! A truly wonderful Airb&b stay.

    Faye2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Chris’ beach home is lovely, exactly what we needed for a long relaxing break. The place itself is very spacious, stylish and clean with fantastic views of the beach. It had everything you needed for cooking and the little touches such as coffee, tea, butter and milk. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and we will be back. Thanks again Chris.

    Gail2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place! We loved it! Very stylish, cosy, warm, great cooking facilities and a lovely wood burner to warm us after freezing sea swims. Lovely to just watch the sea and sky, and to wander down for a delicious meal at the Sportsman. Thanks again Chris.

    Jane2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! The chalet was exactly as described, really well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable and cosy. We loved the location, close enough to walk to Whitstable but far enough to feel like a real private get away. Putting the fire on and watching the stormy weather out of the huge windows made for a perfect winter weekend!

    Jo2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place, well presented, lovely and spacious, amazing view, great location and very helpful hosts. Really hope to stay there again.

    Tony2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful property on the beach, so peaceful. We absolutely loved our stay there, thank you Chris.

    Fergus2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Chris’s place is comfortable, interesting and well presented. Being actually on-the-beach is quite unusual. In the Summer it means eating by the sea and in Winter sitting by the log-burner only 20 paces from the water is very special. We hope to be back.

Welcome to my cosy little home. If you want to explore Faversham and the Kent coast and countryside, this is a good place to start. I have a single neat room to lay your head and your back pack. I'm a stones throw from the creek, country walks and a short stroll into this gorgeous historic town. Pubs galore and a diary full of summer festivals and street fairs. Log fires in the winter. I am very happy to agree a longer stay if your job brings you to the area.
As you can see from the photos, Summer and Buddy are house mates, so probably best to like dogs. They are friendly and love guests.
  • Great cosy place to stay. Susan and her dogs are excellent hosts made me feel very welcome. Highly recommended!

    Stevie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Susan, Buddy and Summer are the best hostess I’ve ever had. I spend 2 weeks in Faversham and living together was perfect. The house is beautiful and is in a quiet part of Faversham. The room is very comfortable and it feels you like at home. The only negative thing I can say that it was a shame not to be able to stay longer. It was a pleasure meeting you. See you soon!

    Beatriz2020-02-29T00:00:00Z

  • A friend recommended Faversham as a great place to stay to explore the south east but still be within easy distance to get back to Heathrow for an evening flight. We picked Swan Quay Inn purely based on the location and price. It was an absolute delight from the warm welcome on arrival and the attention to detail during our stay. The front desk manager was a genial host that went out of his way to help us, and indeed all guests. The breakfasts are a highlight too and set you up for a day of sightseeing. Our room was on the second floor and had everything we needed. The decor is gorgeous and we had a great night’s sleep each night. We’ll certainly be returning to the Swann Quay Inn when next we find ourselves in the south east.

    Wendy2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super place to stay, handy for exploring Faversham and the local area. Breakfast is wonderful!

  • Wonderful accommodation, quiet. Will definitely recommend

    Abimbola2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Rigden Room - Super value for money compared to all other offerings (Airbnb and hotels) in Faversham. In fact, after staying there, I can't believe that's all we paid! Great breakfast included in room rate - don't miss it because there are hardly any comparable cafes around for the price and spread. Location couldn't be better - just off the high street, easy 2 minute walk to Shepherd Neame, 2 minute walk to a part of the Shore Saxon route along the creek. Free parking, so you can just leave your car there the whole time during your stay and walk about to explore. Uros responds very quickly and is very helpful. Will definitely stay there again!

    Eesha2019-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay in Faversham. The room had everything we needed (including en suite bathroom) and was quiet. The bed was really comfortable. We had the continental breakfast and there was everything you could wish for - pastries, toast, juices, fresh fruit, eggs, cereals, croissants, etc etc. I was doing an art course at Creek Creative which is next door - couldn't have been better! We also went to the Sportsman for a meal (fantastic!) and the Swan made a great base for that. All together a great place to stay.

There is a pub just outside that we were a little bit worried because the loud music but actually was fine! No problem at all. We had. Lovely and very relaxing evening in Mariyan's place :). • What a lovely place! My husband and I took our dog for a weekend away at Sophie’s. We used her place as a hub, and visited Canterbury and a few of the towns nearby. The cottage is very cute, well-equipped, and very clean. Even though the weather wasn’t great in February, we had a cosy stay as both radiator and the gas fire were great! Thank you again for hosting us!

Escape the chaos of city living and find sanctuary at Harty Ferry Cottages. Situated on a bird reserve within the picturesque Oare Marshes, it is the perfect spot for keen walkers and birdwatchers. Our beautiful home is just a stones throw from the sea, yet still just over an hour from London. We are a family home with a friendly dog & slightly mad cat. The house is in walking distance to gastro pub The Three Mariners, 25 minutes walk to historic Faversham and a 15 minute drive to Whitstable.
We are surrounded by the beautiful and quiet Oare Marshes . You can choose to walk along the Creek to Oare where there are two pubs or go a little further to the Shipwrights arms which is situated on Oare Creek .
  • Beautiful peaceful location, as described, next to a bird reserve and estuary. 18 minutes walk to an excellent gastro pub.

  • We have stayed at Harty Ferry before, and I actually decided to book our most recent stay here to propose to my partner! - which is a testament to how special this location is. Absolutely beautiful scenery and wildlife, peace and tranquility. Melanie couldn't be a kinder host, and the place is filled with lovely little touches, such as bread and biscuits, to make your stay comfortable. Perfect to get away from noise and bustle, but with Faversham in easy reach. We love this peaceful beautiful place and have no doubt we will be back.

  • A wonderful, peaceful location just a short walk from Oare. We stayed in a large, comfortable double bedroom with nearby bathroom. It was perfectly quiet. Melanie and Steve were very welcoming hosts, stored our bikes in the shed and let us leave our bags in the morning while we had a walk around the nature reserve. Breakfast was provided and tea, coffee and juice. A really lovely place to stay with a great pub (the Three Mariners) in Oare for dinner.

  • This was my second stay at Ali's, the bed is comfortable and the room is warm, Ali is a friendly, kind host who wants her guests to have a good stay. Without me asking or expecting she catered for my special diet at breakfast and was flexible with my check in/key pick up and late arrival in the evening. I would recommend Ali's place!

  • Ali's home is very homely, local to the town, Ali is very friendly, polite, and makes you feel at home , 😀

    Phillip2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ali is very friendly and relaxed and wanted my stay to be as comfortable as possible even offering me a hot water bottle and herb tea and something different at breakfast as I don't eat cereals or toast. The room was warm and the bed was comfortable with extra pillows if I wanted them. This was my first stay as a guest in an Airbnb home and I'm happy it was at Ali's place. I'd recommend Ali's place!

  • Penny is a lovely, friendly and helpful host. The room is large and well appointed and the bed comfortable. The bathroom is spacious and the shower easy to use. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was yummy with fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereal, fresh bread and homemade jam and marmalade. We could park easily outside Penny’s house which has easy access to the rest of Faversham.

I live in a Victorian semi-detached house, a three-minute walk from Faversham Train Station, from which you can travel to London in just over an hour. Ashford, with Eurostar trains to Paris and Brussels, is twenty minutes away. Canterbury, with its Cathedral, rich history, and two universities, is nine minutes by train.
I have two friendly poodles, an affectionate cat and two bantams. My garden has a small vegetable patch, I have a handful of fruit trees, a greenhouse and summer house, and a piano, which piano-playing guests may play.
My Road is part of a friendly neighbourhood -- lots of families, dogs, cats, and lovely town gardens. As it's convenient to the train station, it's always full of life. There are grocery stores and other shops and a great market (Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday) just a short walk into town.
  • So good I had to return. It was just as I expected with coffee/tea tray plus sweet treats and fruit, comfortable bed, fast wi-fi , own bathroom and a wonderful breakfast each morning. Killara is a great host and her place is excellent value for money.

  • Killara's place is so stylish with wonderful antiques and art. Great space with a comfortable bed, own bathroom, good wi-fi and a tray of goodies in your room. A wonderful breakfast with Killara who is definitely a super host ! Excellent value for money and I'll return again soon.

    Godfried2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Killara is a wonderful host, who goes beyond any expectations to make you feel welcome in her beautiful home. She came to the station with the dogs, making the first encounter a friendly experience. She also has a good assortment of maps of the area and will be happy to help and provide you with her local knowledge, which is very helpful. I loved breakfast and all the special details, such as fresh milk from the glass bottle! The place is spotless, in a perfect location, and the room has a lovely antique desk, which is enough to inspire anyone to start scribbling just like any Victorian novelist would do in a rainy day. The dogs are adorable and friendly. Thank you Killara, for such a warm welcome!

    Estela2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time I have stayed and I throughly recommend Killara’s home. She is a lovely lady & the rooms are so comfortable and welcoming. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when I’m Faversham. Thank you for another lovely weekend stay.

  • What a lovely place and host. Comfortable room with charming bathroom. All along with a great breakfast too. What’s not to like. Short walk into town for a good selection of places to eat. Simply great.

Ground floor bedroom with private shower room opposite, in bungalow in a quiet cul de sac. An easy and pretty ten minute walk to the town. Faversham is a lovely market town with lots of places to eat and walk. We are close to Canterbury which can be accessed by car, bus or train (station is a 15/20 minute walk from our place). The port of Dover is 30 minutes drive. We also have an upstairs room with its own shower room, which has 2 single beds. You can book either or both.
Spacious double bedroom, kind size bed, some wardrobe and drawer space. Access to kitchen and a nautical themed garden (shared space). The shower room is opposite the bedroom and is modern with a large shower, basin and toilet. Heated towel rail.
10 minutes walk from the town with a good selection of restaurants and cafes. There is an independent cinema, a post office and most major banks. Faversham also has three swimming pools (one indoor and two outdoors) and a Theatre. It is a great place for visiting the whole of East Kent as it is central to that area. Easy access to Canterbury and only 30 minutes drive from Dover, a good stopover to and from the Ferry Port.
  • Joy is a great hoast, very thoughtful and made me feel at home at her clean and modern home. She had took the time to draw up a map of Faversham and recommended local places for me to go. I'd definitely like to stay there again if I visit Faversham again

    Matthew2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Joy is a wonderful host, very friendly and helpful. The room was extremely clean and comfortable with the added bonus of a private bathroom. Parking is easy and the location is perfect for a stroll into Faversham with all its pubs, wine bars and restaurants

  • Joy and her husband are amongst the best hosts I've had. They were very helpful with local tips, breakfast was included in the price and they even picked us up from the station on check in! Highly recommended!

  • This is really great accommodation in a good location. The hosts could not do enough to make my stay enjoyable. I was even given a lift into town because it was raining hard.

  • Joy and her family were great hosts, they are really welcoming. On the top of that the breakfast was amazing!

    Edina2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Joy, Chris (and Sunny) are exceptional hosts. Their house feels like home away from home. It’s comfortable and has everything you could possibly need but it’s their hospitality which is beyond compare. Nothing was too much trouble and they offered so much more than we thought possible. We felt as though we were staying with friends. They are truly lovely people. Faversham itself is a great place to stay with a strong sense of community, friendly people and plenty of historic interest. Everything was within easy walking distance with plenty of places to eat from casual to fine dining. We recommend Joy and Chris’s home highly.

    Shane2019-06-03T00:00:00Z

Located in Dargate between Faversham and Whitstable in Kent, we are easily reachable and just over an hour out of London by train or car, perfect for a weekend or midweek break to unwind and relax. Five acres of private grounds provide completely unspoiled views across to Blean Woods, which are accessible by the public bridleway just a few meters away...perfect for walking, off-road cycling or running! Dargate itself is a small hamlet forming part of the parish of Hernhill, and was made a conservation area in 1999. In the centre of the hamlet and a very convenient 100 metres from us is The Dove public house, a fantastic gastro pub that provides a very welcoming atmosphere and a great dining experience. We have Blean Woods immediately behind us, and just a short walk is Mount Ephraim where you can explore the wonderful gardens. There are also a couple of other local pubs in Hernhill should you need to stop for hydration, The Three Horseshoes and The Red Lion. For those looking to soak up some Kentish sights, history and culture, you have the nearby towns of Whitstable, Canterbury and Faversham to explore. If you want something more active then try some running or cycling along the trails or just stick to the country lanes....there are plenty of hills to give you that added challenge!
  • Excellent relaxing place to stay. Lovely location.

    Andy2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • For our first Air b&b trip, this has set the standard very high. The most amazing place to stay, felt like home as soon as we got there. So many little touches to the place which were just lovely! There was a lot of thought put in for guests such as the guidebook and things like dvd’s and games, we was won over time and time again. The Dove pub was perfect and so close too. Thank you so much for making one of our memories the best yet. The Cart Stable is definitely somewhere we would like to come back to.

    Katie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely few days away. Anita's place is superbly furnished and there are many thoughtful touches such as a bottle of bubbly as we arrived on Valentine's day

    Katie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully presented home, perfect for a weekend away! Many thanks Anita and Paul!

    Laura2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Anita and Paul's hospitality, friendliness and helpfulness were first class answering queries promptly, providing tips and advice on places to eat locally, and things to do in the beautiful countryside. The accommodation is really lovely and lived up to the photos and expectations. It is a wonderful abode, spotlessly clean and has all the facilities for an independent retreat away from city life. The location is absolutely ideal. We loved our walks in Blean woods and stunning views, as well as the ease of access to the coast and local towns of Whitstable and Faversham. The Cart Stable is a wonderful base for a stay with horses and chickens nearby. The chicken's eggs were extra special with our breakfast. Anita and Paul have made this is a lovely place. Highly recommended.

    Gary2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Anita for providing a lovely jumping off point for our exploration of the towns and villages in Kent. All the amenities were perfect including beautiful views of the landscape around your property. We very much look forward to asking to stay with you again when next in your part of the world! Margaret2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was a spontaneous decision to get away for the weekend and we certainly picked the right location and beautiful home. Liz was very responsive to messages and the home was as we anticipated, clean, tidy and a beautiful lounge with open fire to relax and feel warm. Great location to spend an entire day bargain hunting in the many antique establishments. Liz was extremely accommodating on our final day where storm Ciara settled in to cause our journey home an anxious one where she allowed us that little longer of a stay at no extra charge. We didn't want to leave but sadly with work commitments it wasn't an option.

    Tim2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This period house in Faversham is extremely comfortable and well located to the centre of town, Market Square and local supermarket all within walking distance. Liz (host) was extremely friendly and super quick when responding to email queries and provided special touches of flowers and chocolates on arrival. The house is beautifully appointed and well suited for self-catering, offering parking vouchers for on-street parking. We highly recommend this Faversham period house. Thank you so much Liz.

    Catherine2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Liz was quick to reply to messages, she made everything very easy and we felt very at home. The bed was really comfortable, everywhere was super clean!!!!... and the house was so cosy. We were using the house as a base to commute into London and it was ideally located for a short walk to the station and also the town. We loved it!!

    Amie2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous property that couldn't be more central, immaculately clean, very tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. Most of all, we loved the quality of the linen and towels provided by the kind hosts and THE most comfortable bed ever: I will return just to get a good night's sleep! Liz and James were also so incredibly helpful - beyond words! A gem.

The house is bijou but so well set up it really worked for our book group of women getting away together for a weekend at the Faversham Literary Festival. Despite wintery weather we even saw a kingfisher at the stream in the garden!

Welcome to my cosy little house. If you want to explore Faversham and the Kent coast and countryside, this is a good place to start. I have a comfortable room to lay your head and your back pack. I'm a stones throw from the creek, country walks and a short stroll into this gorgeous historic town, where there is a market 3 time a week, pubs galore and a diary full of summer festivals and street fairs. Temporary longer stay accommodation can be discussed if work brings you here for a short time.
there are so many places to eat out, but you are welcome to use the kitchen..including the juicer, the nutri bullet and the bread maker, if that appeals.
The town is arty, classy and quirky...and friendly.. something for everyone.
  • Nice, lovely and peaceful stay at Susan's. Very close to town center with lots of little cafes and shops around. Was given local tips for walking around the area as well as recommendations on where to visit. Also, friendly welcome from her two lovely dogs! Would definitely come back again!

The house has all you need for a warm place to return to after a day out. Especially important as we visited in January. • A really lovely little place in a great location. The house was clean and had a really cosy atmosphere, and there was some lovely touches that added to it (tea and coffee, even a pint of milk in the fridge). Esther communicated back quickly and any questions I had were answered. The location is great - a short walk from train station, shops and a nice pub that had live music, on a quiet road. Very reasonably priced too. Would definitely recommend!

  • Kitty cottage is in a very quiet street (no traffic or neighbour noise), and an easy walk to the centre of Faversham. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, nice firm mattress in double room, easy heating controls, wi-fi worked well, and good to have a bit of outside space to rear on a warm night. Loved the interior decor taste too.

  • Great location for Faversham. Comfy bed, nice little kitchen, quiet street. Everything you need for a visit to this beautiful town.

  • Kitty cottage is a joy to stay at whilst holidaying in the garden of England. It is clean, tidy and has everything you could possibly need to explore this wonderful county. Esther strives to make your stay as pleasant as possible and definitely succeeds in this. Little touches like making sure brew making facilities are available on arrival and placing a cuddly toy and book on the single bed for my daughter was very thoughtful. I couldn't recommend Kitty cottage enough and wouldn't hesitate to stop there again, thank you Esther 😀

  • Comfortable, clean and good value accommodation in a quiet location. Mix of business and a short break for me, so the dining table made a good work-desk. Prompt and clear communication from Belinda.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay staying so close to the animals. Definitely a unique experience. We were also pleasantly surprised by the sheep's nature and how they liked human interaction as haven't been close to them before. Wonderful kind animals. Would have preferred earlier check in, however late check in time was clear beforehand. Our 18 month old and us parents loved it and wish to return when out little one is older and can appreciate it a bit more Thank you for a lovely stay x

  • Cute little annex, perfect for a weekend break in the countryside. The animals at Huckleberry Farm are fantastic and the whole experience is really wholesome and fun. Much recommend!

    Caroline2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The best thing about this place is the farm attached! Belinda was a lovely host, we loved going next door to the farm and spent some deserved time in the great outdoors.

    Kat2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little annexe to spend Boxing Day in - the place has everything you need to cook, relax and enjoy the countryside. Meeting the animals was a real treat, and it was so kind of Belinda to let us see them even though the farm was closed for the bank holiday. We really appreciated it!

  • Liz was exceptionally welcoming. The beds were comfy and we all.slept well. The flat was decorated really tastefully and while we were 3 friends coming to.faversham for a friends birthday party, all of us would gladly bring our families here to stay especially because the twin room area where the children would sleep can be closed off once they were settled. The value was excellent. We meet friends for breakfast in Faversham so.didnt have breakfast there but the drinks were welcome. Liz even gave us a lift to our party when the weather was awful which she neednt have done but was very kind to. Wd highly recommend this place. Brilliantly central.

    Sam2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very comfortable with Liz's family. We stayed with two adult children. The two interconnecting room gave us enough space. In the room is complet kitchen. I am really greatful for this great hosting.

  • Liz’s place was sparkling clean and so comfy. And For us Americans it is quintessential English. Plenty of tea and Faversham is absolutely charming. Liz adds personal touches that complement the rooms. The temp in rooms can be individually controlled. Shower was wonderfully hot on these cold weather days. The rooms do require stairs if you have mobility issues. Each room had its own tv is you have travel companions. I would never hesitate a return visit-oh wait-we liked it so much we did book again.

  • We were looking for a couple of nights away from London to get some fresh air and relaxation. We picked a gem of a place with the loveliest hosts. We took a recommended walk to Faversham and there were plenty of other walking options. Nothing was too much trouble with lifts to and from the station and pub, gluten free cookies and breakfast and plenty of lovely teas and hot drinks. It is a clean and stylish yet homey space and Cosy too. We would love to return next time we need to escape the city. Highly recommended to all.

    Rachel2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Dave’s place has everything that you could want for a break in the countryside and it is spotlessly maintained. The surrounding orchards and farmland are perfect for exploring and taking in the beautiful surroundings. It’s also only a short drive to Whitstable, with an abundance of independent shops and seafood restaurants. Karen and Dave are excellent hosts, they lent us their ordnance survey map for the afternoon and provided a delicious cooked breakfast the following day before we sadly had to depart departure. We can highly recommend staying with them.

    Charlie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn’t recommend Karen and Dave’s studio more. We had such a comfortable stay, everything is so clean and cosy. Homemade cookies when we arrived (I am gluten free and there were gluten free ones specially made). It was raining so Dave gave us a lift to and from the local pub even though it was late when we finished. It is unbelievably quiet and picturesque. We were bowled over by the spread that they put on in the morning. Karen sweetly baked fresh bread, two whole loaves- one gluten and one gluten free. Full English breakfast, gluten free granola, cereals, fresh fruit, anything you could wish for was there and we ate while overlooking the orchard and church whose bells were ringing for the Sunday service. Dave gave us a lift to the station and Karen made us a little postcard with recommendations of things to do. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from London, it’s a short train to Teynham and close to the station. And plenty of things to see and do in the surrounding area. We feel very replenished and well slept...and still full from breakfast!

  • Chloe and Izzy's great reviews were spot on! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Windyridge. Perfect quiet place to rest and chill. The studio has such a calm, relaxing, modern feel to it we didn't mind staying cosy with a book one afternoon while the wind blew and rain poured down outside. Karen (and Dave!) are lovely, friendly hosts. Karen is great with her extra touches of cookies and amazing bread. Breakfast really set us up for the day. We highly recommend Windyridge Studio and will definitely be going back soon. Perfect getaway for us.

    Carol2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place is out of this world... The setting is off the beaten track so perfect for a quiet stay. Karen's hospitality was exceptional! From start to finish this was hands down the best stay we have had with Airbnb. The studio is perfect for two people who need a place to rest. The interior was lovely and very homely. Home-made cookies and a delicious breakfast topped off this beautiful stay. We couldn't recommend this enough! We will be back for another stay when we are in Kent!

    Chloe2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn't recommend Karen's place enough! It was beautifully designed, sparkling clean & with really thoughtful details like freshly baked cookies in my room. Karen is an extremely friendly host who makes you feel so comfortable and is great with communication. I slept like a log due to the quiet and clean countryside surroundings. Breakfast was amazing with Karen's homemade sourdough. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here!

We had a comfortable stay for a week with everything we needed and Tim was always on hand if we had any queries. Would definitely stay again if visiting the area in the future.

    Laura2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was a great host! He was very attentive and accommodating from the moment we arrived to the day we left. Any issues we had, we were able to get a response from him right away and was able to fix it right away. He is such a friendly and welcoming person. The only minor issue that we had was with the fridge/freezer that didn’t seem to work properly while we stayed there. Never-the-less, Tim was able to help the best he could. The place was very clean and felt homey. If we are to ever plan a trip to faversham in the future, we will definitely book with Tim again! Thanks Tim!

Our 1866 artisan's cottage is in Faversham's conservation area close to the town centre with its old market square shops, pubs and restaurants. The house is centrally heated with neutral decor. On the ground floor there is a living and dining room both with an open hearth. The kitchen with is fitted with gas cooker hob and oven fridge/freezer washing machine and microwave oven. The rear lobby, leading to the rear garden and bathroom, with electric shower also houses the dishwasher.
Upstairs there is a second washroom and WC. The house is a traditional Victorian cottage and the stairs are quite narrow. We welcome people with limited mobility but we must point out that the bedrooms are upstairs.

Spacious, light, airy, modern conversion in an historic building on a pretty street in the conservation area, between the harbour and the lovely town marketplace. This one-bedroom flat is situated on the first floor, accessed via a wide, secure lobby, with room for a bicycle (with permission). Cycle route 1 and the Saxon Shore footpath pass by our door so we would be a good stopping off place for walkers or cyclists.
Tea, coffee and sugar are provided. Tesco supermarket 2 min walk open 7am to 12 midnight.
The flat is located on a quiet cul-de-sac within the grounds of the now vanished Faversham Abbey. Some local highlights - all within a few minutes walk:- St Mary of Charity with its distinctive spire and enthusiastic bell-ringers (we enjoy their practice on Wednesday nights) is open every day and 'might' be where King Stephen is buried. Tesco supermarket in a converted brewery is accessed by a fascinating alley way that leads from opposite the flat, past the old Elizabethan school house and the Physic Community Garden, through the graveyard where ghosts are apparently often seen and past the church to the side entrance of the store carpark. Phoenix Tavern is our local pub on Court Street with award winning food, an open fireplace that often smokes, comfy sofas, weekend live music and home to the Timothy Taylor real ale appreciation society. The atmosphere is relaxed, the burgers are incomparable, and the people are friendly to everyone. Standard quay nearby has another famous pub with a large garden and cheap home-cooked food on Tuesday nights, antique shops, fresh food stores: meat, vegetables, herbs, eggs, artisan bread, a cafe with a delightful walled garden and historic boats. In the winter the Thames barges are repaired and maintained here and further down the creek at Iron Wharf. Faversham market (market days Tuesday, Friday and Saturdays) takes place in the town centre as well as a full programme of musicians, festivals, and specialist markets throughout the summer.

  • Very modern room and furnishings. Quiet. Helpful staff. Very clean. Comfy bed. Secure. Less than a 10 minute walk from Faversham station.

  • My friend and I had a wonderful stay here after a mutual friend's party at the Brewery. Our host was very friendly and gave us a warm welcome when we arrived, and was very helpful if we needed anything. The staff have put a lot of effort into caring for the hotel and it really shows! The room and bathroom were in pristine condition, with mini toiletries, plenty of towels and the coffee machine all very much appreciated! The bed was so comfortable as well and we both slept soundly through the night - this was definitely one of the most comfortable stays I've spent in a hotel. All in all this place is very reasonable for the price and I would highly recommend it to anyone, and I hope to have a chance to be back for another stay someday!

  • If we could give additional stars for several of the categories on this review we would! Blown away by the friendliness and helpfulness of our hosts, who gave a high level of professional but friendly service at every possible opportunity. We had a great night there with our 9 month old in what was our first night away as a family alone. The continental breakfast was so good I didn’t need to try the fried option (which really says something!) but I definitely would next time. We hope to be able to visit again very soon!

  • Had a little one night escape, and we really loved our stay. It is really cute, good value for money and we were well impressed with the breakfast that was included. I would always come back here.

  • This is an absolutely excellent and affordable option to stay in a great area of an incredibly picturesque kentish town. The hosts are quite literally some of the nicest people you are likely to meet in the hospitality sector - we really cannot recommend this place enough.

Our house is in the heart of beautiful medieval Faversham, a few yards from the ancient Market Place, with a regular market and a range of shops, cafes, pubs, as well as swimming pools and local walks. It is an 18th Century converted barn with a large open-plan upper storey containing a well-equipped kitchen, dining room and sitting room. Downstairs are two comfortable double bedrooms and a modern bathroom. There is a secluded garden with outdoor furniture. Access key box or host will greet.
The house is fully-equipped, including breakfast items. Despite its central location it is quiet and secluded.
Faversham is a jewel in North Kent, close to the coast at Whitstable and other seaside resorts. In summer there is a lovely heated outdoor pool close by and a very good range of independent shops, cafes and pubs. A tour of the Shepherd Neame brewery is very good.
  • What a super stay we had! The house is absolutely beautiful - full of character and so peaceful. The location is brilliant- in the centre of Faversham, which we had never visited before but would certainly return to. Nick was a fantastic host; extremely friendly and knowlegable with plenty of good tips and information on the local area. The house was beautifully presented and we had plenty for breakfast during our stay. Nick had even found some toys for our two year old which was lovely. Would definitely stay again and explore more of this beautiful area.

  • This property is in an amazing location, just behind the market square, two minutes' walk from any number of pubs, coffee shops and takeaways. It was beautifully clean, really well equipped and lovely and warm. Nick was there when we arrived and showed us what we needed to know. We expected to eat out in the evenings but we found the property so comfortable that in fact we got takeaways and spent the evenings relaxing in the property. Thank you for a lovely stay Nick.

  • Very cosy and clean room. Breakfast was very good for continental. Place to stay, worth every penny.

  • Being able to pull up and park in front of the hotel and walk to town easily made this an ideal location. The room was very comfortable but there was noise from the road. Lovely choice of breakfast options with a sunny courtyard to sit and enjoy it.

  • Great location, just a few hundred yards from my company night out. Beautifully decorated room, spotlessly clean. Bed was so comfortable that I overslept for work the next morning! The lady in the restaurant prepared a take away breakfast for me as I was running late. Nothing too much trouble. I will definitely stay again if in the area.

  • Clean quiet nothing was too much trouble for the very helpful staff

  • A lovely little hotel and I'd definitely come back if I was in the area again. An elegant old building, stylishly refurbished (I love the 'bookshelf' wallpaper - but I also loved that there were real books in the lounge!). Our room was beautiful and comfortable. It's at the front of the building so there was a bit of road noise but it got much quieter at night. The public areas were also great - we particularly liked sitting in the garden courtyard. Excellent continental breakfast with lots of choice. Felt very at home.

  • The hosts are very friendly and swift to help you with any enquires. Caslock room is on the top floor and has an amazing bathroom with a lovely tub! I’m not sure if there’s a water softener or it’s amazing water pressure but my bubble baths were foamy and luxurious like those in the movies :D The bed is comfortable enough to not want to leave it’s warm embrace in the morning...although the delicious breakfast that awaits downstairs is a strong motivator for getting up! I look forward to my next stay :)

  • The room was incredibly comfortable and came with everything needed for an overnight stay. The Christmas card and chocolates were a lovely touch as well. Would definitely recommend.

Nestled perfectly in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the Nutkin is an idyllic retreat for those wanting a spot of serenity whilst remaining close to buzzing town life in Whitstable, Faversham & Canterbury. This light & spacious apartment offers the very best of coast, country & comfort. Set in large private grounds, the Nutkin features a fully equipped kitchen, dining & sitting area with wood-burning stove, bedroom, bathroom & utility area.
The apartment is entirely self-contained and designed with the comfort of our guests in mind. With an open-plan, modern feel, this one-bedroom countryside hideaway easily sleeps two but could also, if desired, accommodate an extra child on the sofa bed. A travel cot is also available. The main living space features a fully equipped kitchen (with hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge), a dining area and sitting area complete with mod-cons (DAB stereo, TV with Freeview, DVD/Blu-Ray player and wifi connection). The bathroom has a bath and separate shower cubicle. Fresh linen and bath towels are waiting for you as well as a selection of toiletries. A utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer provides an added bonus for longer stays. In addition to the internal living space, the Nutkin benefits from a covered parking space (with additional room for bikes) and a garden for guests' exclusive use. Set in five acres of private grounds, with far-reaching views of the Kentish countryside and the sea at Whitstable, the Nutkin is in a particularly privileged spot. Being bordered by woodland, we happily share our space with roaming friends such as pheasants, squirrels, rabbits and birds to name but a few. In summer, we encourage you to enjoy an al fresco meal under the walnut tree and stroll the grounds while sampling fruit from the orchard. In the colder months, flick on the central and underfloor heating to warm your toes after a mud-stomping walk in the forest or pop another log in the wood-burning stove and curl up on the sofa with a brew and a book.
Dargate is a peaceful hamlet and designated conservation area with the Michelin listed Dove Inn at its heart. It forms part of the larger village of Hernhill, with its quintessential village green, church and the 14th century Red Lion pub. The neighbouring countryside is one of spectacular beauty. It provides a home to myriad flora and fauna and is dotted with picture-perfect fruit orchards, giving rise to the charmingly named Plumpudding Lane which links Dargate with the main road. The village is encompassed by Blean Woods, one of England's largest ancient woodlands, which can be accessed via a gate at the bottom of our garden and can link up with the famous Crab and Winkle Way. As if the delights on our immediate doorstep weren't enough, we are spoiled by being conveniently equidistant from three of Kent's most enchanting towns, each offering something different to make up a perfect holiday. In less than 15 minutes, you could be pebble skimming and oyster sampling in Whitstable, enjoying culture and retail therapy in the cathedral city of Canterbury or touring the famous Shepherd Neame brewery and spying antiques in the historic market town of Faversham.
  • I booked this gorgeous apartment for my husband's birthday to get away from work and home stresses. This is the most perfect place to stay, close by (10 min drive) to Canterbury City which I fell in love with. Thankfully, The Nutkin was so cosy and warm, we decided to spend more time in the apartment than out of it. Katie and Jonathan have gone the extra mile to make it as homely as possible with their finishing touches and small details. For example, homemade banana and pecan shortbreads (which my husband would like the recipe for haha) also frozen croissants for a nice breakfast one morning. They provided shampoo/conditioner etc and even glass jars of cotton wool/buds and plasters on the beauty table-little things like that which shows they have really put the thought into it. The log burner was an amazing feature as we were staying in very windy/cold weather. We just wanted to stay here longer! Katie was SO helpful regarding check in/check out as we couldn't get there until 10pm on the first night (wasn't a problem with Katie) and also received a message letting us know that we had the opportunity for a late check out because there wasn't an immediate guest in after us. She didn't need to tell us this but was lovely to have had the chance to stay and lounge around longer :) I messaged Katie for information and received a reply very quickly! All in all I will go as far to say that The Nutkin is now mine and my husband's favourite place to stay in the UK and will for sure be coming back (hopefully in the summer to enjoy the gardens around the apartment. Thanks so much guys, nothing but praise for you! Well done xxx

  • Really lovely space in a lovely setting. Super clean and lovely little touches to make the stay really welcoming. A very friendly couple who make fantastic hosts. 5 stars all round.

  • A great stay, sparkling clean with lots of thoughtful touches.

  • This is our second visit to the Nutkin and it will not be our last. Such a gem of a place, quiet, clean, cosy, well equipped and Katie adds many little extras, such as cake and croissants! We slept so well in the huge bed. Katie has always been so helpful with local information too. It's a great location and lots to explore locally. Thank you so much Katie, once again. We didn't want to leave!

  • We enjoyed our stay very much! The accommodation ist located in a wide, beautiful garden. As it is located in the backyard of the street, it is very quiet and peaceful with lots of birds, squirrels and rabbits. The flat is very comfortable, nicely furnished and decorated. Katie is a very caring host. We were welcomed with some basic breakfast items. We recommend this place 100%. The pub in walking distance is a must! It is an excellent position to explore Kent!

  • This Airbnb was so much better than expected! Katie was a wonderful host & had very quick responses. What you can’t see in the photos is the incredibly peaceful and beautiful location that the listing is at. Katie’s garden was incredible & the house was perfectly clean and extremely comfy. Katie left us fresh milk, croissants & shortbread (that I want the recipe for!) along with many other thoughtful touches. We have a very large dog who was so happy to be able to run around in the private garden area along with the expansive woods directly behind the house. We can’t wait to come back to the Nutkin!

    Seeley2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The Nutkin is very comfortable and very well furnished and beautifully located in the village with great places of interest within very easy access. Katie and her family are very committed to sustainable living which is wonderful.

  • Katie is an excellent host, accommodation is perfect for a countryside getaway, the woods within a couple of minutes walk were great for dog walks. Perfect base for exploring Kent. The facilities were brilliant and we loved our time at The Nutkin.
