Places to stay in Plaistow
A small country cottage in the beautiful village of Plaistow, West Sussex, famous for having over 30 listed properties. The cottage is annexed onto the Grade II listed main house with 9 acres of land, it has its own front door and private rose garden. The stairlift. is not in use. The fireplace is an electric stove. The bed is a superking or twin beds and kid's beds are available on request. There is parking outside your front door and the decor within is all newly refurbished and very light.
The village of Plaistow is small, rural and charming. It benefits from an amazingly well stocked village shop and cafe, should you not wish to cook breakfast yourself. We are a very short walk from the shop and very close to the church and local pub which is open at weekends and does food on a Friday evening. There is a pretty village green with a children’s play/ park area and there are plenty of walks or cycle rides around. The towns of Horsham, Guildford and Chichester are about 30 minutes drive and all have theatres and cinemas and many shops and amenities. There are countless beautiful villages with wonderful pubs and Goodwood is only 20 minutes away in the lovely town of Petworth.
  • The cottage was full of flowers and a welcome breakfast hamper was a very nice touch. Cate was great at replying quickly and offered good local pub tips. We only stayed for a night but it was a nice break from London

  • Cate was a fantastic host. She catered to our needs and her communication was particularly responsive and helpful. The cottage was lovely and very spacious. Cate provided plenty of local tips and walks along and around the area. Cate communicated often during the harsh weather to ensure we had everything we needed and felt safe and she greeted us with a warm welcome. Would happily revisit again

  • Lovely little annex on some really beautiful land, located amongst a number of cute villages with warm, cosy pubs. Kitchen features a lovely Arga, a small fridge (space for a few days of basics) and all the cookware you need to home cater. Lounge area has a tv and faux electric heater fireplace, which give enough warmth to the room. Bedroom and bathroom lovely. Would stay again!

  • This is the best little place one can find int he area if you are visiting for what ever reason, better than any hotel or travel lodge. Super clean thoughtful touches and just so easy and idyllic. What would you not stay here?

    Kathryn2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cate is a very welcoming host and many kind extra touches are left for guests. Bread and milk plus coffee and tea. The accommodation is clean and cosy. The bedroom is magnificent as are the grounds. I would highly recommend this property. Great too if you like long country dog walks.

    Nic2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. The cottage is beautiful and the welcome basket was a very thoughtful touch. Its a great option to feel like you can take a total break from the city but is only 90min from London. The hosts provided great recommendations for local restaurants and walks. Would highly recommend.

    Ashley2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay we had. If you want some rural peace and quiet then this is the place. Lovely walks on your doorstep and a charming village atmosphere. Cate is also one of the nicest hosts ive come across in the airbnb world.

We have converted the old stable into a guest accommodation and can offer a compact and modern living space right in the heart of Dunsfold. No street lamps, one pub and the village shop just about sum up the ambience. It's a beautiful springboard for country walks and our cosy and separate studio will provide a comfortable and well appointed base.
Old Stable. We think it was originally built in the 18th century and formed part of an old blacksmiths. It's also done a stint as a fire station before it was shortened and replaced by a house. In March 2019 we converted the remaining portion which forms part of our property. Our house is one of 4 cottages built during the First World War. Hence "Victory Cottages". These were built in what was the garden of the house along the front. This house dates back to the 17th century. The Old Stable will have been on the land originally and probably was used for the family nag back in the old days. It now comprises a compact living area served by a fast Wi-Fi connection, a separate shower room and a fully fitted kitchen area with fridge, freezer, all pots and pans, plates, cutlery, 2 induction hobs and a microwave oven. There is shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste and toothbrushes for those who have forgotten their own. If requested, we can rig a washing machine in the courtyard for exclusive use by guests. And a tumble drier is also available in an adjacent shed. There is an honesty tin for using the washing machine and tumble drier to cover the cost of electricity.
Dunsfold is a quiet village with historically significant interest. The church is over 800 years old with the oldest pews in the country (apparently!) The shop and pub cater for all local needs. Trains to London or to the south coast may be caught at the closest stations. There is a bus service which covers the local area and which goes into Guildford. The village is a springboard for local walks across the downs or to adjacent villages.
  • Outstanding! On the same level of a very good hotel, if not better. Janet and Anthony are well organised and the place is just perfect from every point of view. Loved my stay, would definitely book again.

  • Excellent value for money with delightful owners. Would certainly go again

  • Lovely cosy place in a charming village. Spotlessly clean, great amenities with extra thoughtful touches. We stayed during storm “Dennis” and no issues, the accommodation was warm and cosy. Lovely hosts and would definitely recommend and stay again.

    Nicky2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing overnight stay at the old stable! Thanks to clear instructions the location and entry to the property was very easy. Upon arrival the room was extremely welcoming and sparkling clean. Being Valentine’s Day, the cupcakes and chocolate was a lovely gesture. Everything you could have needed was provided, and more! We really appreciated the little touches, as well as the breakfast choices - very thoughtful! We were extremely comfortable and cosy. Janet and Anthony were very friendly and happy to accommodate any queries or requests we had. Thank you very much for a lovely stay and we would definitely come again!

    Emily2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We'd suggest staying at The Old Stable for anyone who wants to spend a weekend in the beautiful Surrey. For our trip, the hosts were extremely accommodating with the check-in (we arrived quite late from our trekking tour) and kindly heated up the place for us. They also gave us directions to nearby places to buy local foods, and let us stay beyond the check-out time. The place itself is a detached cosy house with all the essentials inside plus a kitchenette. Everything was well-kept, modern and clean. It couldn't have been better!

    Giancarlo2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully appointed little house. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We loved staying here even though it was just one night. The breakfast was great too. Hope to go back again soon. Thanks Janet!

  • Very welcoming couple who were very communicative throughout the whole process. The cottage is a very well kept and modernised space that has all you need for a few relaxing nights away in the country. We were very happy with our choice to stay there and would definitely recommend it to solo or paired travellers but would certainly advise visiting with a car.

Cottage set in rural location near Billingshurst. Suitable for one or 2 people. Well located for Kirdford, Chichester, Horsham, Arundel, Cranleigh, Petworth, Haslemere, Guildford. Excellent walking and close to places of interest to visit.
Sympathetically converted, this super barn conversion, previously the egg store of a renowned chicken farm, stands adjacent to our home, which is on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Kirdford. The cottage is beautifully furnished to a high standard and provides twin or double bed (to be confirmed on booking), fitted bathroom, fitted kitchen with open plan lounge/dining area and log burner. Logs and kindling are provided for your arrival and further supplies available for purchase when required.
Close to the South Downs National Park, this attractive holiday barn is ideal for couples wishing to stroll, cycle, fish, play golf or visit the numerous attractions within easy reach. Foxleigh Farm Barn has close access to an extensive network of footpaths, leading to the unspoilt part of the low weald, a haven for birds and wildlife. The quaint village of Petworth is 5 miles away, with its plentiful antique shops, beautiful stately home and Capability Brown designed gardens and parkland, where many functions and events can be enjoyed during the summer months. The charming small town of Midhurst, famous for polo at Cowdray Park is also a short drive, as are Billingshurst, Haslemere and Guildford. Goodwood, with its motor racing and horse racing, Fontwell races, West Dean Gardens, Parham House, The Weald, Downland Open Air Museum and the South Downs are all within easy driving distance, as is the cathedral city of Chichester with its extensive shopping and tea rooms, festival theatre and harbour tours. Alternatively, the town of Arundel with its famous castle and cathedral, plus the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust are both well worth a visit. The Witterings and other beaches are a half-hour’s drive and numerous golf courses are within easy reach. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile. Within the village of Kirdford, just a few minutes walk away, we have a lovely village shop providing local produce and a café with outside seating. Also within the village are two pubs -'The Foresters Arms' and also the well documented newly refurbished 'Half Moon'.
  • This is an excellent place to stay. We were looking for somewhere to completely relax and wind down for a couple of days as this was perfect. The communication was excellent throughout and this is definitely somewhere that we would go back to so that we could get away again.

    Donna2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • A well-designed cottage on a farm, surrounded by open countryside., with ample storage space, ensuite bathroom as well as a downstairs toilet and well-equipped kitchen. Spotlessly clean, despite being dog- friendly, comfortable and warm, the Coop was within easy driving distance of Chichester and close to Petworth.

Brand new house, contemporary decor, comfortable and relaxed. Cranleigh is a large village with many amenities (sport, arts, restaurants) set in the rural Surrey Hills - ideally located for walking, yet near to shopping in Guildford, Horsham, Dorking. Only a half hour drive to the south coast - Brighton, Hastings, Worthing - and ideal for National Trust visits. As for me - I can either be invisible or helpful, as you wish! I am a good cook (by arrangement) or you may use the kitchen.
I have a garden and seating area, but as yet not much has been planted (still in the design stage)
Cranleigh is reportedly the largest village in England, nestling in the Surrey Hills and has pretty much everything to entertain you. I love it here...
  • Always a great stay with the delightful Annie. I'm back there again for 3 days the week after next (this coming week was previously booked so couldn't snag it). SteveB

  • Annie is a great host. The private bathroom is excellant and right next to your very nice bedroom. Even the cat is very friendly.

    Steve2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Annie’s place was just what I needed for an overnight stay before a job interview in Dunsfold. She was the most welcoming hostess, providing plentiful cups of tea and local information and her cats were super friendly. She also drove me to my job interview which was really helpful and helped calm my nerves. I thoroughly recommend!

    Poppy2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for just one night but Annie was a great host, very friendly and accommodating. She has a lot of friendly cats too!

Our Shepherd's hut is set amongst 30 acres of unspoilt mixed woodland and paddocks, just on the edge of the South Downs national park and yet also moments away from Haslemere's lovely shops, restaurants and cafes. The hut is fully insulated and has central heating so is suitable for year round use. You will have privacy and your own space, and although our family home is on the same site, it is nearly 200 metres away . We are on site and will be at hand if you need anything.
Our brand new shepherds hut has recently been built to a high specification. It is a good sized hut with a kingsized bed, kitchenette and en-suite bathroom with a good sized shower. It is well insulated, with central heating, and is fully serviced so will be comfortable year round. The hut is situated out of sight of our main residence in a secluded position. Due to the bad winter weather the parking is available on the large tarmac area by our garaging & stabling, but from spring and summer it will have its own private space very close by. We have 30 acres of fields and woodland and guests are welcome to explore and we have some amazing walks nearby as are within easy reach of Black Down, Devils Punchbowl (Hindhead) We have lots of animals and you are welcome to collect fresh eggs from the chickens in the morning. Just ask and we will direct you.
The great thing about our location is that you can have the best of both worlds- peace & quiet surrounded by woodland, yet shops and restaurants are only a 10 minute walk away (3 min drive if you're feeling really lazy)
  • This was a truley wonderful little gem of a place...Vicky the host was amazing withbthe little extras she left for us of milk, bread and eggs..the hut was everything and more....could not fault it at all from the location to the actual shepards hut..cosy,romantic and warm...I would definatly come back to explore more..and I I'll be telling my freinds all about it!!

    Clare2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful and relaxing stay. Highly recommend, the hut is absolutely lovely.

    Rosie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, can't think of anything that would improve this Shepherds Hut! It had everything I could possibly need. Would definitely book again if in the area.

    Tony2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I would totally recommend this. My husband and I had a much needed night away to relax and top up on parenting tokens. This was a lovely peaceful location with stunning walks just a stones throw away. You will not be disappointed.

    Gladys2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Vicky's shepherd's hut is an absolute joy. It is equipped beautifully with everything you need - all designed so cleverly that is feels genuinely spacious inside. It might look like a shepherd's hut from the outside, but step through the door and it's a real little home from home! The location is truly private and the woodland birdsong blissful. Tip : for any vegan guests "Hemingway's" on the High Street is a revelation, the choice is phenomenal

    Angela2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic hut in the woods. We managed just fine without a car- station, supermarket & pub are all within 15 mins walk. It was comfortable & peaceful :)

Lovely village setting within easy walking distance of our traditional English local pub and well stocked village shop with it's own post office. Our house is the oldest house in the village dating back to 1251!
  • Sissy made us very comfortable and the place had everything we needed

    Ash2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything went smoothly - easy check-in and check-out, and Sissy was very helpful with our questions. I can't recommend staying here enough. We stayed here to give ourselves a break from the busyness of the Christmas period and it was perfect. The local pub is less than a stone's throw away (even with my bad throwing arm) and has good food and board games.

    David2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is right by the Common and very quiet. We enjoyed walking around Dunsfold which is an attractive Surrey village

    Marian2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Booked as extra Xmas accom for my son and girlfriend. Sissy was a great host and the annexe was perfect. We will definitely use again, thank you so much!

    Roger2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sissy’s place exceeded my expectation in every way and was so cosy and it delighted me and my partner immensely. Not only was the place clean and well equipped but her and her family are so cool and welcoming. I’m recommending anyone who enjoys historic sites and an eye for detail to stay here and the locals were just as nice. All in all a great stay.

    Lenny2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sparkling clean one bedroom cottage - perfect for two people. Kitchen well equipped and lovely croissant for breakfast! Dunsfold is such a pretty place and cottage a couple of doors from the pub!

    Marion2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy guesthouse in rural location with all you could need for a home away from home. Being next door to a pub is extremely useful if you don't fancy cooking, though the property comes very well equipped. Fantastic host, who was extremely eager to help, keeping us updated, and offering communication at a moments notice. We would definitely stay here again!

    Dan2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Cottage, comfortable , well situated in a quiet rural setting but with easy access to nearby towns. There was good communication before and throughout our stay. Sissy met us and was very welcoming and approachable - a great host. There were thoughtful touches such as croissants, milk ,butter, tea and cereals which on our arrival helped enormously . There is an excellent local shop/post office and friendly pub serving good food (and takeaway pizzas) all within 5 minute walking distance. Would certainly recommend it and hope to return one day. Thanks Sissy.

A comfortable double bedroom with the use of the kitchen and other downstairs rooms. The shared bathroom is normally only used by you. Less than a mile from Haslemere station, the house has easy access to the town and the many attractions of the South Downs national park. The room has a TV, facilities to make tea or coffee if you don't want to pop to the kitchen, and great views over our back garden with a brook running down the side. A simple "serve yourself" breakfast is included.
The bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. Guests may use the kitchen and living room downstairs for preparing and consuming drinks and meals, and relaxing in. Feel free to explore the garden and enjoy the garden room too.
Haslemere is a beautiful town with plenty of amenities and interest. The leisure centre (including a swimming pool) is a short walk from Brookside, and the town centre a little way beyond. There are nearby walks to the National Trust beauty spots of Marley Common and Black Down (with its wonderful views over the Surrey and Sussex countryside), and easy access to the Devil’s Punchbowl.
  • I had a great experience staying with Pete and Kate. They made it an easy experience and I received a warm welcome. I would stay again if needed in the future.

    Ellie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • I received a warm welcome from Pete and Kate who managed just the right balance of being both attentive and laid back hosts! The room and facilities were just what I needed whilst attending a 3 day intensive event nearby. I will definitely return if the opportunity arises :)

    Shelagh2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Pete and Kate are very welcoming, friendly and accomodating. I really enjoy staying with them.

    Sonya2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The room and house that the room is in, is absolutely wonderful! Pete and Kate are excellent hosts, very considerate and accommodating. Very knowledgeable, Pete and Kate always had insights for every need - where to go for a night out, good places to hike, etc. The room itself is wonderful and homey, with all things necessary to meet simple pleasure in life, e.g. an electric kettle for coffee/tea in bed. The proximity to great hikes and beautiful walks is an added bonus, as there are a surprising amount of redwoods in the area! For nature enthusiasts/ecologists/artists looking for inspiration, this is a great spot to see many ecological wonders and the joy of nature! Many amenities are in easy walking distance - not more than a 20 minute walk to the local Tesco, a wonderful cafe (the Lion's Den), and a few pubs. If you're looking for a rustic stay, some peace and quite from the bustle of the city, or in town for a wedding, this is the perfect spot to stay!

    James2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pete and Kate were the perfect hosts. A real home from home and they even provided cereals and toast for breakfast. Much appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

  • We’ve enjoyed our 1-night stay at Pete and Kate’s place. Everyhting from check in to check out was smoothless and it’s a grate value for money. They both are very kind and ready to help with you needs ie early check in / late check out etc.

    Mehmet2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a warm welcome at Brookside. It's a comfortable bedroom at the back of the house away from the road so is nice and quiet. The room looks out onto a lovely garden with brook..hence Brookside! I didn't stay for breakfast, though it was offered, as I'd been invited out. Pete kindly took me to the venue. A big thanks.

    Fran2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Pete and Kate's place for a weekend while attending a course. They were very warm and welcoming hosts, Pete even collected me from the train station the night I arrived! The room is exactly as pictured, bed was very comfortable and there were tea/coffee facilities and a TV in my bedroom and I was able to use the kitchen to make dinner every night. Lovely stay and would not hesitate to recommend. Thank you

  • Judy’s place is an absolute delight. It has all the amenities and furnishings for a sublime few days away from it all. The village is picture perfect - I’ve never seen so many quintessential English cottages in one place! The local pub was cosy, wine was good, I didn’t try the food so can’t attest to that. I will definitely be back in the summer if I can book in!!

    Kaye2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at the Reading Rooms and even though the weather didn't quite match our previous trip we still loved our stay. A cosy, clean, and quiet space to hideaway for a weekend or use as a base for some beautiful local walks. An additional note - we don't have a car and can thoroughly recommend Mac's local hire for taxi needs! On both trips they've gone out of their way to help us.

    Jack2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The property... The Reading Rooms make for a very pretty countryside getaway. Photos are very accurate - it is a beautiful space - beds are very comfy and there is also a lovely big bath! Check in was self-service and really easy. Nice pubs nearby too. Getting there... We actually travelled by train, getting off at Billingshurst. While I am sure it is easier to drive, rest assured you can still get to and from the property using a local cab company - it took about 15mins and cost just over £10.

The Barn is up a long private track, in a beautiful location. We feel like we are in the middle of nowhere, yet we are only a couple of miles from Haslemere. Please note that due to the ongoing pandemic we are not taking any bookings for April or May 2020 and shall be following government advice as it develops.
Whether you are getting married later on in 2020 (or indeed 2021!), are looking for great walks, visiting friends or relatives, need somewhere to stay for work, or just want to escape it all, we really hope you will love this place as much as we do. The Barn is about 20 metres from the host’s house and is accessible via a stone path from the driveway. It is serene, quiet and peaceful and completely self-contained. There is a lovely open-plan sitting room into which we have installed a kitchen, so if you don't want to go out you can prepare your own meal, then relax and enjoy the views over our pond and garden. Or just chill out in front of the TV ... There is also a DVD player and we have put together a selection of DVD's and board games which we hope you will enjoy. We use Bedroom 1 for bookings of UP TO two paying guests. It has a double bed and a newly refurbished en-suite (December 2019) with white towels and complementary toiletries. Please note: There is a supplement of £35 for bookings of two people or less who wish to make use of Bedroom 2 as well. Bedroom 2, has french doors leading onto the Barn's private garden. It is a lovely room, very spacious, with a king-size bed and its own TV. We are currently installing a second bathroom into the Barn and it will be ready very shortly. There is a mezzanine area above Bedroom 2 with 3 single beds.
The Barn has direct access to a bridleway which leads in one direction to Blackdown and the many walks and trails of the South Downs National Park. In the other direction it leads directly to Haslemere. A brisk walking pace will take you into Haslemere High Street with its wide range of cafés, shops and pubs in about 25 minutes. We are surrounded by wildlife. You may see the deer as you drive up the track. There are buzzards, owls and a red kite is often seen flying above the fields. There is also a small RSPB site next to the property which you are welcome to explore. There is an OS Map for you to use during your stay and we are very happy to recommend our favourite walks ... as well as local pubs and restaurants. We should add that although we are within walking distance of Haslemere, this is most definitely the countryside and it gets VERY muddy in the winter. If you have welly or walking boots, please bring them! If you prefer shopping, Guildford and Chichester are within a comfortable driving distance.
  • Melanie was a fantastic host. Nothing was too much of a problem for her. She left so maybe thoughtful touches to ensure we had a great stay. She was amazing at responding at messages, and was so quick with correspondence. The house is beautiful and in a beautiful location. It was so relaxing and chilled. We can’t wait to come back!!

  • I would highly recommend Melanie’s barn. It was spotlessly clean and cosy, with daffodils in each room, and in the most beautiful setting, surrounded by fields with horses and sheep. Melanie couldn’t have been more welcoming and hospitable.

  • Had such a lovely birthday night away in Mels barn, would definitely come back in the summer to enjoy the lovely scenery! I told Mel i was gluten intolerant & she went above & beyond to ensure she had the correct food stocked in the barn. It was so peaceful & tranquil and the shower was amazing!

  • What an unbelievable place! I used high barn farm for a place to stay for myself and bridesmaids before my wedding. Melanie was so accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. She helped wit organising all our wedding suppliers arrivals the day of the wedding and I couldn’t think of a better place to stay in the area. It was so serene and everyone commented on how beautiful the barn was as well as the outside space. Just an absolute pleasure to stay here and would fully recommend to anyone needing a relaxing and quiet space.

    Danielle2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I along with our friends and children have just spent New Years at Melanie’s barn. The barn itself is very spacious along with everything you need for a quiet break away. Melanie welcomed us with a bottle of Prosecco and was on hand for when we ran out of coffee and sugar. Thank you again!

  • Loxwood small is a fantastic space. Much bigger than the photos show. Decorated to a very high standard, good quality furniture and lovely little touches with candles and fresh flowers on arrival. Would definitely stay again and would recommend it to anyone who wants to escape to the country with luxury accommodation. Thanks again to Liz for a fabulous stay.

    Nathan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It looks just like the photos but bigger. I found the large space so relaxing, but at the same it all feels very cosy. The space is self contained, but as Liz describes, it is inside her house so essentially you may hear people going up and down the stairs - I didn't find it to be an issue at all. The space is beautifully furnished. Liz is a wonderful host. I would definitely come again.

This garden room has been converted from a shed in our garden. It is quiet and secluded, by a soothing stream with a lovely outlook into the garden, with space for a bed settee and a table. The garden itself provides more space in good weather. An easy walk to the main house gives access to the kitchen, cloakroom and dining room (with a TV) . The garden room does have its own TV and WiFi. A shower is available by arrangement with the hosts. Parking is possible by the room.
  • Just returned from a lovely stay with Pete and Kate in the garden room. It was me and my two young boys age 3 and 5. We are between homes so needed somewhere to stay. We stayed there 4 nights and it was a lovely warm cosy room with heating, electricity and tv plus facilities to make coffee. Pete and Kate were so welcoming and we were able to use the bathroom and shower in doors. Boys also has a great time making a den the garden!

  • The place is very clean, cozy, close to the high street of Billingshurst and around 30 minutes from the Gatwick airport. The room is well equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, cutlery, bowls, and cups. The bed makes squeezing sounds when turning around so for a light sleeper it may be better to prepare ear plugs. The bathroom is very clean with a bathtub which is what we love. The garden is beautiful and we are welcomed to use it. Peta was very quick in response and happy to provide information needed.

Lovely, single room within my friendly 3-bedroom house in Witley, Surrey. Milford station 15/20 min walk, easy travel links into London. Bus 5 minutes. Parking. A good size room, with a quality single bed. WIFI and use of kitchen, garden, lounge. I have a very small Yorkie.
Single private good size room with single bed in good countryside location. The room is clean, quite and comfortably furnished with a reading light, wardrobe, desk, shelves, mirror, blackout blinds, heating, double glazing. I live in a close rather than on a main street, so it is quiet and peaceful.
Witley village is a great and lovely countryside location ideal for long walks and running, with Witley Common, and other country walks within short walking distance. The local pubs are a short walk away and offer excellent food and the locals are very friendly. A newsagent and other general shopping facilities nearby. This is a peaceful environment, which offers good access to Milford or Witley Stations, which provide direct services to Guildford (10 mins) & London Waterloo in under an hour.

Dragonfly Lodge is a newly converted luxury self-catered apartment tucked away in beautifully quiet West Sussex countryside. This spacious self-contained flat renovated from a large double garage is a naturally light, modern space nestled in front of stunning woodland in our 7 acre garden and Alpaca field. With a river, canal, rolling fields, woods and a meca of footpaths on your doorstep, this is the perfect launchpad to explore the countryside by foot, bike or horse. It's dog walkers heaven.
Dragonfly Lodge is an entire self-contained single-storey ground floor apartment with private entrance and parking. Light, modern and airy with views across fields, woodland and the Wey & Arun canal. The lodge is attached to our family home but feels very private. Spacious parking at the front of the lodge makes it easy to unload your things. Vertical blinds let in loads of light through the two large double patio doors and give you extra privacy when desired. The lodge is extremely well-kitted out with everything you should need to cook in the fully equipped large kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer. We include a welcome box with fresh ground coffee, organic teas, sugar, fresh juice, cereals, local eggs, bread, jam and butter. There are kitchen essentials like bin bags, dishwasher tablets, cling film, foil and washing equipment for you to use. The King size bedroom has a comfy bed, quality cotton linen, luxury wool duvet to make your stay as comfortable and hotel-like as possible. There is tons of clothes storage space in the large wardrobe and chest of drawers. A patio door leads to the outside private patio and seating area with view over the woodland and our friendly Alpacas who will be grazing nearby. The living room has a huge L shaped sofa and arm chair with smart tv, netflix and wifi. Cosy sofa blankets are provided for snuggling under. In the large bathroom with walk in shower you will find soft Egyptian cotton towels warmed on the heated towel rail and a selection of hotel toiletries and plenty of storage. Well behaved dogs are very welcome to join you adhering to our house rules. We ask is that any dog mess is picked up and that dogs stay on leads in our garden so they can not roam free into our back field and scare the Alpaca. We have a very placid friendly senior french bulldog Wynny who you may see when he wakes up from one of his many lengthy naps. The enclosed patio gives you a secure outside space for children or pets or to relax with a glass of wine. There is plenty of grass for dogs to stretch their legs on at the front leading down to the many footpaths straight from our garden along the canal and to local villages and pubs. The lodge has been converted with couples in mind but you are very welcome to bring babies / children as there is space for an extra bed/cot. We have everything you would need that could be added (on request) - travel cot, highchair, books and indoor and outdoor toys. The large corner sofa bed can be made into 1 adult single or 2 child single beds or a large king size. Extra bedding can be provided for a small charge.
Stunningly beautifully and quiet West Sussex countryside. Ifold is a quiet private estate Hamlet (shop reopening in April 2020) and we are located at the very end of a long winding farm track over the river bridge and across the canal out the back of the hamlet. It is a short 10-15 minute walk along the canal to Loxwood where there is a great local shop, pub and award winning butchers. 7 minutes drive the other direction is another great local shop and tearoom at Plaistow located on a picturesque village green.
  • Sarah's place was absolutely amazing! So peaceful and beautiful and the added touches just make it above and beyond expectations. We really needed a secluded break away and that's exactly what we got. This is its own little paradise in the countryside.

    Chelsea2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic, relaxing couple of nights away. Sarah couldn’t have been more accommodating and really looked after us. The lodge is spotless and has a lovely homely feel to it. Perfect location if you’re looking for a break - especially if you have a pooch, brilliant walking and pubs nearby. Thank you Sarah and family, we will be back!

    Aaron2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to Sarah for a wonderful few days at your converted barn. A bottle of cava, orange juice and milk with bread in the bread bin, fully stocked tea and coffee made all the difference for us arriving with nothing. It is soooooo worth the drive through the country roads for a stunningly beautiful location and facilities. The giant walk in shower was luxury and the beautiful fully fitted kitchen including a washing machine and dish washer was just lovely. We were so lucky that Sarah was happy to accommodate our three small white fluffy dogs too! It was just wonderful to enjoy the drive and explore the South Downs, the coast and pretty near by towns and villages. Thank you so much Sarah!

  • From the first message to enquire, all the way through our stay, to the day we got home and messaged as we thought we'd forgotten something, Sarah's communication speed and helpfulness is the best we've had using Air BnB. The lodge is a superb standard, spotlessly clean and little touches that make the difference are thought of. Sarah and her husband even ensured our 10 month old enjoyed his stay by providing toys and a cot which were waiting in the lodge. The location allows for stunning walks and sun rises and is absolutely perfect if you want a quiet break from the 9-5. You'd never know the lodge is in the grounds of Sarah's House as privacy is completely respected although Sarah and her husband are on hand for helpful tips during your stay or to answer any questions. We certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we were in the area

  • Myself and my boyfriend stayed at Dragonfly Cottage for two nights over New Years with our 8 month old son; looking to escape the hubbub of London and get some fresh air. From start to finish communication with Sarah was fantastic - she was particularly considerate in offering options for placement of the travel cot (which she provided, as well as a high chair and some of her daughters old toys). The Cottage itself is a wonderful cosy space with plenty of room for little ones to play within sight. The surroundings are beautiful and we felt we could be in the middle of nowhere; we took a walk along the canal to Loxwood which was picturesque even on a grey day - we only wish we were able to stay another day or two so we could have explored further. Finally, we took advantage of the opportunity to feed the alpacas which our son loved - not something you get to experience with every Airbnb. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay and a pleasure to deal with such a great host as Sarah - would recommend to all!

  • Sarah is a fantastic host and the lodge a lovely place to stay in the Surrey countryside. She organised lots of nice items for breakfast which was a really nice touch as we didn’t have to worry about grabbing things from the supermarket. The lodge is exactly as you see it in the photos, very stylishly decorated and sparkling clean. There are some really nice walks to do in the area and her pub recommendations are great. We loved Noah’s Ark in Lurgashall. We had a fantastic weekend and would highly recommend Sarah’s lodge.

    Valeria2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic stay at the lodge - the location really is about as secluded as you could possibly want, facilities in the lodge are fantastic and Sarah couldn't be a more helpful host. Really appreciated the welcome pack and the overall cleanliness of the place, bed was lovely and comfy, kitchen was well-equipped... marvellous!

    Matt2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome. Sarah contacted us to check if we had any food allergies so she could provide us with a lovely welcome pack. We stayed for a few nights and we didn't really need anything and the place was extremely comfortable and private during our stay. It was very clean and spacious with a private patio looking the Alpacas, which was great! We cannot thank Sarah enough for her hospitality and we are looking forward to coming back again and soon. We would highly recommend anyone to stay.

  • Lovely apartment in a beautiful setting, clean, spacious and nicely furnished. Within easy reach of shops and restaurants. Sorry our trip didn't allow us more time to explore the area and enjoy the grounds.

  • We would come back in a heartbeat. What a beautiful, peaceful location. Bunnies and squirrels for our toddler to look out for, mature gardens and the coach house itself beautiful and well appointed. I loved the shower room, giant and sparkling. Lovely luxury feel to the whole apartment. The bed was really comfy. So much natural light, too. Thank you!

  • A charming spacious flat within an incredible setting. Myself and husband stayed for 2 nights with our 3 toddlers. The flat was perfect for our stay, the setting was woodlands and quiet and the children played on their bikes and visited the local park. We were attending a christening in Ewhurst and I would most definitely stay there again. Gaynor is a super host.

  • This is a wonderful place. We were very lucky to have the site to ourselves too. It's so peaceful to sit and watch the plants and animals, snug in your own little 'pod'. No TV and no internet helped us to forget about the outside world for 48 hours. We'd love to come again!

  • Beautiful place. Had an amazing weekend

    Peter2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second stay and it was even nicer than last time. Such a relaxing and cool space . You don't have to go outside inside out with the scenic windows as you feel like your outside but very warm and cosey. When we arrived the heating was on with egg, milk and bread ready for us and the place is immaculately clean. The correspondence is perfect and is all very straight forward. You feel nice and isolated and very private without being that far from stuff. Saw a deer hoping through the woods and a pheasant going for a walk around the cabin. The new hobs are great and we managed to whip us some great meals on them. Fridge and freezer perfect for all the supplies. Fell asleep with the moon out the circular windows. Excellent bliss. We will be back no doubt. Can't recommend it enough.

    Stevross2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing airship, super clean and cosy. Had everything you would want. Definitely needed the wellies for the woods as advised and the slippers for inside so thanks for giving us the heads up :). Loved the log fire, that made it for the evening. X

  • Great space!

    Sameer2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a wonderful two night stay in the airship. Nestled in the woods, with its large dome windows either side we really felt at one with nature. The airship was warm and cosy, in the mid of winter during a stormy night. The host was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely come back again soon!

    Kelly-Ann2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I spent a weekend outside London at the Spaceship. Coming from London, it is a great option as within 1h by car you can be out in the nature. The space is great and communication was easy. I'd definitely recommend considering this as a special stay out in the woods!

Woodstock House is a 5000 square foot Georgian country manor, calling out for refined celebrations or parties in the heartlands of bucolic Sussex. The house itself is colourful and characterful, with a carefully considered blend of antique and modern. Each room has its own feel and character, catering to diverse tastes and ages. With outlooks across lawns and countryside from almost every room, the feeling is one of being part of the landscape in classic country style. Celebrate every season. With the Aga on, the fires roaring, the food and drink flowing, you can be sure this will be a Winter Wonderland to remember. And in the warmer months, kick back by the pool, play games on the lawn, or drink pimms on the patio. The front entrance opens onto a reception hall, with doors either side leading to a study and reception room on the left, and a sitting room on the right. The study’s desk faces the sweeping lawns from a bay window. The sitting room has antiques and a grand open fireplace. Continuing down the reception hall brings you to the stairway leading up to the 1st floor. From the stairs, turn right to enter the cosy TV/Library room, with toasty colours, a fireplace, books galore and a TV with access to the latest entertainment. Turn left behind the stairs to enter the games room, with billiards/pool table, dart board and magnificent chandelier. The kitchen, dining and family rooms are full of light and perfect for entertaining. The kitchen, with its Aga and flamboyant colour scheme says everything about this house; it’s charming countrified but with a touch of rebellious spirit. The family room has deep couches and the house’s second TV. The dining room and family room contain 10 french doors that open out into the gardens. For boots, coats, dogs and all the bits, there’s both a utility room and boot room, and ground floor WC at the back of the house, with a door leading out to the courtyard. This door can serve as a handy alternate entrance (especially in wet weather). The 1st floor’s bedrooms and bathrooms all have their own style from regency master bedroom to a fairytale children’s single room, all are styled to suit a collection of ages and tastes. For extra space and beds, this house includes the adjacent and recently furbished coach house, which sleeps four, has its own lounges, kitchen and other facilities (photos coming soon). The grounds are a mixture of entertainment spaces (tennis court, pool), formal lawns and forested areas. They are perfect for after dinner constitutionals, having drinks on the patio, or enjoying a wide variety of sporting endeavours. All in all, Woodstock House should be at the top of your list for planning a rip-roaring weekend away in the country.

The Studio is a wonderful, peaceful little hideaway, the countryside views are simply stunning. Its private, clean, comfortable and quiet. A short walk from one of the best pubs in the UK (The Duke of Cumberland at Henley ***booking is advised especially at weekends****) and 2 miles from Midhurst.
The Studio at Verdley is a delightful hidden get away. Situated on top of Henley Hill it boasts stunning views and a long private driveway with electric gates to access. It stands on its own with a private entrance, accessed via a shared (with the main house and the 2 bed cottage (also for rental) car parking area. From the car parking area there are 3 brick steps and a gravel pathway leading to the private terrace. The studio doors open straight into the cute country style bedroom, where there is a standard double bed, kitchenette to one side and very small shower room with a loo the other side. There is no space for a basin in the shower room but there is a sink and mirror in the kitchenette. We furnish the kitchen with a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and all cutlery, crockery and glassware. Tea and coffee, milk, butter and jam will be provided. There is no indoor dining area, if the weather is nice the terrace has a table and four chairs. If it's not so warm there are many great eateries a short car drive away and I'd be happy to point you in the right direction! The wifi is not included as coverage isn't great on top of the hill, however if it will reach your device I'll gladly provide the code, 3g and 4g work quite well. There is a TV (with freeview) and dvd player and a selection of DVDs in the room which guests are welcome to use. If required I can provide a travel cot for a baby/toddler, there is room in the bedroom (just!) The charming little property is hidden away, very quiet and peaceful in a beautiful part of West Sussex. Ideally situated a mile and a half from Cowdray Park polo club, approx. 10 miles from Goodwood and 2 miles from Midhurst.

  • The location was beautiful! Ken was extremely helpful from first enquiry to staying at his place, with quick responses and going out of his way to make it a comfortable stay! A lovely, peaceful location, perfect for our trip!

    Benjamin2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We came and stayed here for two nights while we came down for a family wedding. We were welcomed very warmly by Kenneth who had everything ready for us and made sure our every need was attended to and all bases were covered. Our rooms were very comfortable and we loved the big sitting room with the woodburning stove. Although only really here for sleeping and breakfast in the morning we had a lovely time here and would definitely return again. The only minor issue would be the noisy boiler at 6am in the morning and the very strong smells of oil from the central heating but understandably this can’t be helped and some are more sensitive to it than others. All in all a lovely stay and we cannot thank Kenneth enough for being so attentive and welcoming us with open arms into his lovely historic home in the country side.

The Lodge was built in 2017 and has the benefit of a wealth of character features to include oak beams, vaulted ceilings and exposed brick work in the bedroom area. The property is attached to the main house, which dates back to the 1930's when it was a working dairy and part of the neighbouring estate. Since the Dairy has been converted it has won numerous awards, including the Evening Standard New Homes Awards for the Best Conversion.
  • We had a lovely, albeit short stay at Jacqueline’s beautiful accommodation. Quick responses from Jacqueline, easy to find, check-in and a relaxing space with lovely decor. Thoughtful touches with the information about local restaurants and things to do, breakfast at the Snooty Fox was excellent. Highly recommend a stay here.

  • We had a great time! Katie was a very responsive host, and gave great local recommendations. The barn is lovely, photos actually do not do it justice.

    Julian2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little country escape. We only had one night but would have happily stayed longer. Things that made it special: being tucked away in a secluded spot, views over the garden and tree line, cinema screen, gorgeous interior, lots of local info and walk recommendations. Thank you Nick & Katie! Lovely part of West Sussex - will have to come back in the summer for the polo & village green cricket!

    Kathryn2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great two night stay at Katie’s Cottage. The space inside is amazing and the pictures just don’t do it justice. Really easy instructions on how to locate the property and gain access. Quiet and secluded so you have privacy but Katie was easily contactable incase you needed something. They went out of there way to assist after my other half forgot something rather important for his evening out. We’ll laugh for a while about that . Thanks so much . We’d have no hesitation staying again.

    Michelle2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Super accomodation in a lovely remote location. The cinema screen and pub recommendation added to a great weekend.

  • This barn is the best! Super spacious, secluded and right on the trails 🥰 We heard the owls at night, went to gorgeous country pubs whilst ploughing through muddy trails in our wellies.... highly recommend this place 🥰 Katie has great recommendations and the barn caters for all your needs xxx

  • What an amazing place! The barn is incredible, so cosy and located in such a beautiful area. We had everything we could have wanted, from the beautiful grounds, to wonderful walks and friendly nearby pubs. Rebecca gave us loads of really helpful tips about places to visit, which we took advantage of, and we’ll definitely be back in the near future!

  • We had a lovely stay at Rebecca’s. The barn is very cozy, nicely decorated. It was very nice to wake up and be surrounded by nature & animals. We enjoyed a great walk and lunch at the local pub that Boris recommended. Thank you both.

  • Rebecca’s place was cosy yet stylish. It was ideal for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of London life. We arrived in the evening and Rebecca welcomed us and gave us wonderful suggestions for things to do. It was clean and a really relaxing weekend away. Thank you Rebecca - hope to come back again in the future.

  • Just wonderful. A relaxing stay in a gorgeous place with very lovely hosts.

    Katy2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Rebecca's place was just the best experience. We had come from abroad to have a break from the heat only to arrive in the middle of a heatwave (not for too long luckily). The barn was just perfect for us and the pool a very unexpected pleasure especially for our children and grandchildren who came to visit while we were there. Can def recommend the Fox and The Richard Onslow for food. Great location and very friendly hosts. Thanks so much.

    Christine2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing stay. The place was filled with personal touches that gave the place a beautiful homely and relaxing feel. My wife and I would certainly stay again and would recommend this barn. Rebecca was a fantastic host who knew when to give us our privacy but was also available whenever we had any questions. Thank you so much!

Pretty, self contained cottage with separate stable door entrance. Double bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, large shower, basin and toilet.
French windows opening directly onto landscaped garden, which overlooks Cranleigh School playing fields. Private and secure off street parking and short walk to Cranleigh village, with it's many cafes, pubs, restaurants and shopping.
There is a nearby leisure centre with recreational facilities including a swimming pool. Also in the village is Cranleigh Arts Centre offering live music, theatre and film. Both are within walking distance along with the numerous pubs and restaurants. This is a peaceful and private location.
  • Lovely little space, quiet, private and comfortable. Great to be able to take the dog too.

  • Virginia’s Pony House is an ideal place to stay. It has a kitchen with a kettle, toaster, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. The lounge/bedroom has a nice double bed and a tv. The location is good, it’s only a short walk to the main high street in the centre of Cranleigh. Virginia had left milk, tea and coffee and chocolate for me which was great! Virginia was really helpful in directing me to find her and responded straight away to my messages. Thanks so much for a lovely stay.

    Debbie2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Small but very comfortable accommodation. Enclosed secure garden and area for dogs.

    Gaynor2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This little gem of a place is on the edge of the village. Its within walking distance of several bars and restaurants. There is a supermarket nearby for the things you may need to stock up on. The property itself is well appointed and really comfortable. Virginia, the host, is a lovely warm host who will meet you on arrival. There is a lovely garden which can be used to excercise your dog, if you take it with you. One word of warning though, don't leave your dog unattended in the garden as there is a very low wall to the rear of the garden which if jumped means that they can access the grounds of the school behind (which are very extenssive).

    Marie2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Virginia’s place is a great base for anyone visiting the area. Beautiful property and all of the amenities that you could need. A great host would recommend to anyone. Thanks again Virginia!

  • We absolutely loved our stay. The place is lovely and some of the little touches left by Susan are great. Couldn’t recommend it enough. On a side note, we ate at the fox inn, not far down the road and it was amazing. Great food and home made IPA. 😋

  • The place is very well located in the town of Rudgwick. For buying any food/drinks we have Co-Op which is 10 min walk For kids there is Little Street (Its a Role Play) - they have a 60 minutes session and its quite good if you have kids and want to keep them busy Do not miss the 'Milk Churn' for breakfast which is approx 0.5 miles. Do try the Classic Cheese sandwiches which are out of the world. They make their cheese in-house.

  • Picture perfect little house in a beautiful location. Only sad I couldn't stay longer! Great hosts. Would recommend!

    Thomas2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location, comfortable beds, so many thoughtful touches, even mayonnaise and honey. Really peaceful and comfortable.

    Liza2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Summer House was a lovely base for our weekend away. It is very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The kitchen unit was perfectly adequate for self catering with two electric hobs, combination microwave and good size fridge with small freezer compartment. The weather was unkind to us but I would imagine in drier weather the patio and garden would be a delightful place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We would recommend the Chequers Inn for an excellent meal and found Rudgwick Cars to be the most reasonable taxi service.

The hut has it's own private area, private hot tub, and includes parking and outdoor seating, and there is a BBQ should you wish to dine outside or star gaze For a small additional cost of £15 we welcome well behaved dogs, but they must remain on a lead at all times around the farm, this is not only due to our livestock, but because of large machinery operating in and around the farm, and we'd like your four legged friends to stay safe. We usually just allow one but in certain circumstances this maybe flexible, please contact us to ask. No pets are to be left alone in the hut. Little Cowdray Glamping is located in the beautiful leafy village of Thursley, surrounded by miles of stunning scenery, walks, and local wildlife, it’s absolutely perfect for exploring the outdoors. Our farm backs on to the Devils Punchbowl, known for its scenic walks, wild ponies and the odd Highland cow, great if your partial to a bit of mountain biking too, though if you prefer your wheels mud free then why not explore the sweeping surrey hills doing some road cycling instead. Little Cowdray Farm is a working farm run by the family, we have cattle, mainly Herefords and Angus but we also have a small herd of Dexter’s (pint sized cattle), then there’s our resident pet pigs, Lilly-a Potbelly, Maisy, Molly and Mouse who are Kune Kune’s and love a good back scratch or belly rub. We have a small flock of sheep, free range hens and our handsome cockerell Rory!  Why not try some of our freshly laid free range eggs for breakfast?...
  • Beautiful shepherds hut and hot tub, in a very peaceful location. Lovely to sit in the hot tub and watch the pigs, chickens and goats.

    Katie2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place! Absolutely lovely to wake up & see the pig, chickens & goats outside your front door with a beautiful back drop! We went on loads of lovely walks around the devils punch bowl & our tour around the farm with Lucy absolutely made our visit! Super cosy sitting in the hot tub of an evening with a log fire afterwards. The perfect stay thank you so much!

  • Meeting Teresa, Emily and the family as well as the animals made this trip super special. Especially meeting the new born calf and giving him a cuddle. We had a wonderfully relaxing time and enjoyed hiding inside the hut, cosy and warm, while it was stormy outside. We will definitely be back.

  • My partner and I have just returned from a beautiful weekend. We could not have asked for a better weekend. The Shepherds Hut was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail was fabulous. We walked for miles through the Surrey country side and ate some wonderful food. We really miss the log burner. Thank you!

  • A beautiful stay at the Shepards Hut. Teresa couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The hut itself was clean and had everything you could need. The log burner is a great touch! Waking up to the farm animals on your doorstep is a lovely start to the day, as is a dip in the hot tub! Cant wait to come back!

  • This is without a doubt one of the best Airbnb's me and my partner have ever stayed in. The Shepherd's hut is the perfect getaway for two. The place is gorgeous, clean and tidy.
