  • One of the nicest hosts I’ve had and the Barn is even better than in pictures, would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying

  • Highly recommend for a quite getaway

  • Absolutely beautiful spacious barn conversation, pictures really don’t do it justice. Perfect for a romantic getaway

    Matty2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The most amazing view you will have at a stay in Ireland. The barn is fantastic! Jacinta had the fire going as we arrived, and we couldn't have been happier. It had everything we could've hoped for and was so cute and cozy. We regret that we only stayed for one night and kept talking about how we wish we stayed longer. Great bed, kitchen area, and fun to spend time around the fire. Everything in town is just a short walk away. Pubs, food, store, etc. Jacinta was great keeping in contact with and her two dogs are fun to give pets to. Visit the White Harte (pub) in town. Tish and Connell (owners of pub) were a blast to talk to. We stayed there for 4-5 hours into the night. Make a trip up to the lighthouse as well. Connell does bus trips from Rathmullan to the lighthouse every day.

    Stefan2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We really liked the Barn--it has an excellent vibe about it. The owners, who are very kind hosts, have clearly taken care to create a unique space filled with interesting objects. The view is astounding, and I can only imagine what it would be like in fair weather. But we were quite content to sit by the fire and listen to the wind rage outside. The Beachcomber is a welcoming place to have a pint and read the Sunday papers, and posher digs are available at Rathmullan House. We were very happy with our stay.

Ideal location for visitors to Letterkenny. Its is particularly suitable for groups or families, wedding parties and those attending functions in the area. Just 5min from the bustling town of Letterkenny and a 2 minute drive to the Golf Club and the renowned Brownes on the Green Restaurant. The property is also ideally located for touring the Wild Atlantic Way. This restored church dates from 1838. It may not be suitable for very young children or the very frail due to the steps and stairs.
Hidden away in a tranquil oasis of trees The Spires is a wonderful retreat. The property is at the disposal of the guests and is the ideal home from home. While a few quirky features reflect the age and history of the building it has present day creature comforts to most peoples satisfaction. There is ample car parking and a host of local walks.
The Spires with its long history spanning some 190 years is situated in what is arguably one of Letterkenny’s most desirable areas. While only a few minutes drive from the bustling town of Letterkenny with its pubs, clubs, theater, cinemas and fabulous restaurants it will seem a lifetime away as you enjoy life with your friends in front of a roaring open fire. Whether walker, golfer, romantic or reader you will find something while staying at The Spires to make your break special.
  • We stayed at The Spires Letterkenny for a weekend in March and it was absolutely fabulous. Ger is a true super host as he was so friendly and helpful. The house is truly unique and was so clean and comfortable. We had a birthday night out in a restaurant in Letterkenny and had no trouble getting taxis back. We loved this place!

    Johanna2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Spires is an absolutely beautiful home near Letterkenny. The place exceeding our expectations and my only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future.

    Kelly2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing home with plenty of room for a large family. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Very large kitchen and living room. Plenty of parking for multiple vehicles. The host is very knowledgeable of the area and activities. Ger had a fire started in the fireplace when we arrived. The nearby town of Letterkenny is beautiful and there is a nearby national park and outdoor activities. One of our favorite places to stay during our trip to Ireland.

  • Such a beautiful unique home...full of character. My family and I ( 6 of us) stayed here over for Christmas eve and Christmas day. It was such a beautiful place to spend the holidays. The home is stunning and very spacious. The windows are amazing especially the little circular one and the open fire is the cherry on top. So cosy and homely. All bedrooms were of a good size with comfy beds and very clean and tastefully decorated. The kitchen and the top bedroom were my favourite parts of the house although everywhere is beautiful. It is very well equipped... everything you would possibly need in the kitchen and an endless amount of fuel for the fire. I loved the beautiful blue and white crockery also. It was such a lovely touch having some nice Christmas decorations up around the house while we stayed there. Ger is an excellent host...thoughtful, knowledgable and quick to respond. We really appreciated his local tips on walks in the surrounding area and also him lighting the fire for our return while we were out for Christmas dinner. An amazing stay all round. Highly recommend.

  • The Spires is absolutely beautiful. Such a creative, comfortable space for our family of 6. Ger and Martha were very accommodating and responsive. We’d love to come back!

    Alida2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ger couldn’t have been more thoughtful or welcoming! The house was absolutely beautiful and very clean and we had everything that we needed at hand. It is conveniently located next to the golf course in Letterkenny. The views from the house are also second to none and a lot of the key features were well maintained. On our first night, Ger had fresh peat brought in for our fire that he made for us arriving which added to the overall experience. What a wonderful stay!

    Kate2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house to stay at! Ger was more than helpful

    Sheena2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ger is a phenomenal host. He's very responsive and hospitable. The place is amazing an there clearly was pride taken in the restoration. We weren't planning on staying in the area but did, to stay here. No regrets!

It possesses its very own private pathway to the beach. • Rohna was a good host. Her place is lovely and the view.. Whow!!

    Eamonn2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Rhona's space is exactly as described. The view is beautiful. We found everything clean, the shower was great and the space heating was also working perfectly. In the kitchen we found everything we needed to prepare our meal. The place offers a washing machine, but it is necessary to bring your own soap. We had an inconvenience with the wifi password (which is not written in the space is only provided on the day of check in via message), because on the day of check in, we spent all day on the road, so we had no internet to check e-mails and messages and so we are left without the wifi password. So, if you are going to be without internet on the day, I advise you to ask for the password first. Besides, everything was great.

    Michelle2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot, superb view and very comfortable. We had dinner at the Railway Tavern which was excellent. Rhona was very helpful.

    Maggie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Just home after a very relaxing stay at Rhonas place. Wakening up to the views was definitely a lovely bonus. The apartment was clean, easy to find had everything you needed and in a handy location for sight seeing! Rhona also gave us a few tips of places to to visit while staying in Donegal, would defo recommend anyone to stay here for a nice break away! A home away from home.

  • Lovely house and location

    Julian2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • The B & B of Marion and her husband is in a quiet area and the two were very helpful. The breakfast was very varied and totally delicious. I had no problems finding the place and used Google Maps. I recommend anyone who drives the WAW to spend a night here.

  • Marion and Gerry made me feel at home in their lovely house. They were friendly and helpful. Sitting room with the fire was very relaxing. And breakfast was great. Thanks for having me

  • Marion and Gerry’s Place is very welcoming especially with an open fire in the lounge. The place is spotless clean. Great cooked breakfast.

    Hazel2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Marion and Gerry were wonderful hosts. They provided local suggestions and pub advice that we took full advantage of. The food at the local Bridge Bar was some of the best we had in Ireland. A trip to the nearby Doe Castle and Fanad Head Lighthouse was fun. Gerry had a warm fire going the TV area every night when we got back. They also provided a full Irish breakfast each day which was wonderful.

    Bob2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Full breakfast, local knowledge, comfy beds and a shower to wake you up no matter how late the drink was flowing the night before. Marion runs a family home, welcomes you in and lets Gerry feed you like you've never seen food before. Have a plan for your day, because it's just too easy to sit back and look out the windows all morning.. Thank's folks, see you again next year..

The apartment is located on the top two floors of the building - maximising the views of the river and the historic quayside. Unlimited WiFi throughout the apartment
Everything in Ramelton is within walking distance - the shops, pubs, restaurants and country market. The village is a mixture of really old and modern buildings. The Bridge bar is one of the best pubs I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying a pint of Guinness in. The restaurant above the bar serves the most beautiful sea food, and for meat lovers the menu is a treat. Conway’s old thatched bar is also a little gem. Ramelton is an ideal location for touring Donegal, it is about 15 mins from Letterkenny and most of Donegal's beaches are only about 20 - 40 mins drive from Ramelton. These include Rathmullan beach, and the famous blue flag beach of Port Salon. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This small traditional townhouse was built in 1790 and has original 18th century beams, thick walls and old world charm. It's not a hotel room but is a warm artisan home, lovingly restored by the artist owner and is a perfect retreat in the heart of the heritage town of Ramelton. It is a one minute walk to the town's main street, river walk and musicially famous Bridge Bar and Restaurant. It is a perfect base to explore the Georgian town of Ramelton and the surrounding Fanad area.
The house has a kitchen and living area downstairs, a staircase and is open plan upstairs with a studio style bedroom including study desk, bookcase, leather couch and separate bathroom. It was originally built as a workers cottage and is an end of terrace, semi-detached townhouse.
The Blue Door is on the main road of the town and close to The Bridge Bar and Seafood Restaurant which has live music most weekends. There is a festival in the town twice a year-one in July and one usually in September. The Geogian town of Ramelton is steeped in history and worth exploring. The lovely river Lennon runs through the town and one can walk along the river walk to the other end of the town.

I loved the attention to detail from arrival - lit candles, fruit, fresh flowers. Without meeting Carmel, she was a helpful, thoughtful host who was keen to provide any information you needed on your trip. Enjoyed every minute of my stay in Ramelton.

  • Amazing place, pictures do not do this place justice. Very remote and was just what we were looking for....so relaxing and tranquil. Was hoping for clear skies at nite but not this time. Milford is only 5-10min drive and has all the amenities you will need, local shops, pubs and lovely food. Fanad drive and Downingsis only 20mins away, Portsalon is a must, beach unreal as is the scenic drive looking down onto the beach. Will be back again...Thanks Brian

  • An exceptional location in a stunning environment. Lots of space, clean rooms, everything available for a comfortable stay. Recommended!

    Joost2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brian was a super host!Great communication throughout our booking and replied to all my questions. The pictures on Brians site don't do this place justice as it was a fabulous, cosy, massive house with great amenties. Stylish, sparkling clean - all you need for an enjoyable stay. Even without heating on it was still warm and comfortable with a beautiful sitting room and an inviting, open fire. The bedrooms are so comfy and spacious, all you need, with ensuite bathrooms in most. Plenty of towels for bathrooms also. The kitchen is massive with a great dining area looking out to the stunning view. Kitchen has dishwasher, microwave and all the utensils you need. Tea cloths kitchen towels etc.. provided. There is also a great laundry room out the back off the kitchen with everything you need to wash your clothes with an airer/dryer. The nice little touch which I thought was lovely were the christmas decorations, and festive lights, as we were there to celebrate the new year with family and they made it more special and festive. It's very easy to get to literally - after the bunlin bridge, left turn up a lane then a quick right turn up a lovely country lane. It's quiet, scenic views are stunning over looking Mulroy Bay... We were very lucky as we had really nice sunny dry weather while there, and It's a lovely walk down the hill, about 15 mins. to the end of the road. To walk to Milford village after that, its about a half hour walk into town, or by car is 5-10 mins. There are some good pubs one at the bottom of the town the Travellers Inn serving delicous food, breakfast, lunch, dinner and great evening music at weekends. Their is also Dustys bar which has good music too and a pool table. There was great music on while we were there for our few nights. Mulroy woods hotel is just further out the road a mile and has also great food and music at the weekend. Brian had everything you needed and more during our visit. We were very impressed with the whole place and pleasantly surprised also as the wifi which was superb! We thorughly enjoyed our stay and will definatly return.

  • Lovely flat, looks exactly like the photos advertised. The place was clean and had everything needed for a short getaway. We were provided with the exact location prior to our arrival with a video showing us how to get to the flat. Can be a little trickier to find at night, but great stay nonetheless!

  • Ideal location....just a short drive into town. When I arrived, there was fresh bread, milk, tea etc there for me. A home away from home.bed is extremely comfortable as is the sofa bed. Fantastic hosts, extremely welcoming.

  • Fabian and Patricia are very nice they waited for us until late, very good communication. Small independent house where our privacy is fully respected. Fabian and Patricia even thought of making breakfast available to the hosts which is really great. There is enough to park the car in the guest garden. The accommodation is not very far from the national park 15 / 20min by car. In short we recommend the accommodation of Fabian and Patricia.

This tiny house had everything you need for a lovely stay in Beautiful Donegal. Though myself and Michael are the hosts this is my Mum Helen's tiny house. Ideally situated within a 10 minute drive to Fanad, Carrigart, Downings, Rathmullen and 15 mins to Letterkenny. Everywhere you turn is beaches! If you fancy walking Mount Errigal and Muckish are 15 mins away. Glenveigh Castle and Ards forest park and Friary also. If there's any Golf enthusiast out there, there's nowhere better.
Very private and quiet. Sleep up to 4 guests. Master suite has king size bed and living room has a very comfy double bed size sofa
We love living in Milford because it's so central to everywhere. We love the outdoors so raising a family here had been great.
  • Great value accommodation with everything you need - cooking facilities, good hot shower and spacious living room. The hosts were very helpful, responsive and kind

  • We picked the "Wee House" solely for its location so what an absolute pleasure to discover it is a true wee gem. It is handy for the town, and centrally located for exploring the beautiful county of Donegal. The property itself is clean, tidy and well laid out. It had everything we needed. The fact that the house has a ramp access and a walk in shower was an added bonus as my mum uses a walking stick. As for the hospitality it was outstanding.... We were met by Helen and shown around the property. Whenever we met Helen or her family in passing we thoroughly enjoyed our wee chats and never felt that they were encroating on our space or us on theirs. If ever I'm back in Donegal I would expect to stay in the "Wee House".

The house is in a small cul de sac.Perfectly situated for access to town and all amenities. It is very quiet and overlooks the ancient Kiltoy ringfort. As there is limited public transport in Letterkenny a car is advisable. To walk to town is approx 30-35 minutes. Taxis are available all day. Usually costing 7 euro. Airport City Of Derry Airport. Bus Eireann bus company. Local taxis and private tour operators.
Very quiet centrally located house. There is one double room which accomodates max two people. Shared bathroom. Due to lack of public transport it is important to note that it is approx 30-40 walk to town centre.
Letterkenny is the largest town in Donegal. It is a busy thriving multicultural town with a wide variety of activities both in town and surrounding areas. The local golf course is five mins drive away. Aura leisure centre is a modern facility and has great activities for adults and children. There are two town parks which are lovely spaces to spend time. There is a cinema, theatre and arts centre which provide a varied programme of events throughout the year. As a growing multicultural town this is reflected in the variety of restaurants and bars all within a shirt distance of each other. The Wild Atlantic Way is a huge part of Donegal. We have the most magnificent coastline and Winter or Summer there are just beautiful beaches to walk on. Mt Errigal is the highest point and if feeling energetic is the best way to see Donegal in all its beauty. There are fishing trips, island trips, horseriding, go karting, hiking and many more enjoyable things to do. And of course it's the people who live here who really make it special.
  • Beautiful clean and cozy room with everything I needed for a great stay. What a wonderful bed, hotel quality. Slept so well. Marian was so helpful and kind with a very welcome cup of tea on arrival. Great location too. Was able to walk into Letterkenny in 20 minutes. • The Cottage was an idyllic getaway. It was spacious throughout but with a cosy feel about it . Even with the bad weather we barely heard a sound. Whilst an old looking rustic cottage it had all the mod cons. The house always felt warm because of the underfloor heating and the recently installed WiFi was a bonus for the kids. The Library is to be found on secluded Inch Island 15 minutes drive from Derry. Take a step back in time into an atmosphere reminiscent of J.R.R Tolkien's Hobbit hole. On the ground level of a large historic property (c.1608), with modern comforts, guests are invited to rest, read and write but also to enjoy the nature the island has to offer. If you are interested please see https://lovin.ie/entertainment/features/this-lord-of-the-rings-inspired-airbnb-on-inch-island-is-our-new-dream-home
Reviews: "If you are worried that there is no way the pictures will match up to the actual property...you are in for a surprise. From the moment you set foot inside the library, you are overcome with a real sense of peace." "I think being surrounded by so many books and having the fire crackling away. Well, it makes for a unique experience. There are also lovely walks around Inch Island too. If you want a weekend away from the grind, this would be ideal."

Bill was a wonderful host, from tips on local eateries and attractions to milk left on the doorstep for the much cherished first morning coffee, he couldn't do more to ensure we were comfortable. Inishowen is a beautiful area to explore and we had a great trip. Thanks Bill 👍

We didn't get to meet Bill this time but he'd prepared the place very well for us and was very helpful and communicative during our stay.

    Chantal2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say how much I enjoyed my couple of days being well and truly looked after by Bridie (and Paul). Bridie even came and found me when my phone got me lost on the way there. The private upstairs huge bedroom and en suite at their place has panoramic views over the hillsides to the West. There is a lovely lounge and breakfast room for guest use downstairs. Watching the summer showers and listening to the rain on the roof at night was very restful, ‘though winter storms must be spectacular. The location, just outside of Letterkenny, gives easy access to much of Donegal and I can warmly recommend their place. Irish hospitality at its very best

    Peter2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • A great starting point to visit Glenveagh National Park. Bridie is a fantastic host, very polite and friendly. Her house is luxurios, beautifully decorated and very clean. The bed is huge and very comfortable. Breakfast at Bridie's is the best irish breakfast I have eaten.

  • We arrived in the evening time and the weather was awful outside, the apartment was so cosy and the lights were on ready for us. We had our 17 month old son with us and it was perfect for him with a high chair left out for us and a travel cot. There was literally nothing we were left wanting for during our stay. Thank you for the food also! Great to be able to have a cuppa when we arrived! We would love to stay again!

    Jennifer2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely clean modern 2 bed apartment with secure parking. Bridie our host was very welcoming and nothing was a bother. She had the fridge and cupboards stocked with all the basic essentials i.e breakfast cereals, tea sugar, milk, butter and best of all her homemade treacle bread. I highly recommend Bridie and Paul's place if visiting Letterkenny.

Comfortable well-equipped apartment with side garden, separate to the host’s house. An ideal 2-3 day base for the wider Fanad/Rosguill/ Sheephaven area, from which to explore the array of beaches & scenic spots, and participate in the many outdoor activities offered locally. For instance just 12mins to #1 Ballymastocker Beach; 25 mins Fanad Lighthouse; 32 mins Atlantic Drive; 31 mins Glenveagh National Park; 42 mins Errigal mountain; 43 mins Ards Forest Park.
The apartment has a kitchen/dining/living area with a sofa bed, as well as a double bedroom and a shower-room with WC. Well equipped kitchen. Washing machine & tumble dryer also. Central heating. Basics such as tea, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper and cooking oil provided. 'The Nook' accommodates 3 people, though unfortunately we don't have facilities in place for babies or toddlers.
#CoolDonegal The area is very scenic with hills and coastal inlets. You're only 10 mins from the nearest beach and there are SO many beautiful beaches in the area. This is the perfect location for hill-walking, cycling or simply enjoying leisurely strolls on the beach. Organised activities available in the locality include kayaking, dinghy-sailing, coasteering, rock-climbing, chartered fishing, golf and horse-riding. Local people are friendly, and love to see visitors coming to the area - so you'll feel very welcome! Actually look up Gareth Wray Photography online, as he takes quite a few shots in the general area - which will definitely inspire you to visit Donegal!

Big, beautifully decorated clean room, access to a shared kitchen with everything one might need and a cosy sitting room. Marcel even lit fire in the stove as we arrived all wet and cold from a torrential rain. Thanks so much Marcel! Both you and Niamh were wonderful hosts.

  • This space was better than expected. The bedroom was huge and spacious and the bed was the most comfortable bed I slept in during my 3 weeks in Ireland (I stayed exclusively at AirBnBs). It was such a private, comfortable space. I could have stayed a week and just rested there. Paul was an excellent host. He was quick to meet all my needs, warm, and friendly. Thanks Paul!

Quaint 80 year old cottage set in a beautiful, rugged landscape. This charming two bedroom cottage has been lovingly restored with a beautiful, bright colour scheme whilst retaining some vintage features. This is a perfect rural retreat for solo travellers, couples, families or small groups. The cottage is in an ideal location for those looking to try the local amenities such as fishing, hill walking, golfing, painting, photography, or for those holidaymakers who prefer a more peaceful retreat.
This is a coastal area dominated by numerous peninsulas including Fanad Head and Rosguill overlooking Sheephaven and Mulroy Bay. We are located along the Wild Atlantic Way Route, on a quiet country road just off the R245 between Milford and Carrigart. The village of Carrigart is located 5km from the cottage. Carrigart village has bars, shops, cafes, restaurants, takeaways, a post office, pharmacy, ATM, a health centre, a swimming pool, a gift shop and petrol station.

  • Great landscape, peaceful and quiet, at night you can see a lot of stars if the weather is good. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming and give you good hints what to do in the area. Even in December the place was cosy and warm with central heating, a turf oven with a lot of ready prepared turf and a chimney for wood. Would really recommend traveling there.

  • We stayed for 3 nights at the cottage and had a great time. It is a very comfortable cosy space with a well equipped kitchen and a really comfortable bed. • A very nice house with a large plot and a fantastic view over the bay. We were met directly by Olivia's husband who showed us our apartment. The apartment is equipped with everything you need. From travel brochures about corflakes and milk to a television. Thank you for the hospitality. However, there is a small criticism: The address (especially the coordinates) are not correct. It took some time to find the house. But after a brief phone call with Olivia, that was not a problem at all.

Inch Island a small island of about five square miles, lies just off the Donegal coast at Burt at the start of the Inishowen peninsula and is accessed by a causeway road. It is a quiet place with beautiful scenery: from the Burt side looking to the ancient fort of Grianan of Aileach, high on the hill above Burt, to views across the Swilly and views to the marina at Fahan and Inishowen's main town, Buncrana. The island boasts a world renown wildlife sanctuary - Inch Lake, home to swans, geese and many other species of migratory bird. There is a purpose built wildlife walking trail (4.8 mile) around the lake taking in stunning views of the wildlife and fauna with wildlife viewing huts for bird watchers and photographers. Inch Wildfowl Reserve is viewpoint along the Wild Atlantic Way. There are the ruins of an old castle on the island which was once the property of the O'Doherty Clan of Inishowen. The castle is built on a cliff edge overlooking the Swilly and dates from about the mid 15th century and although it is mostly ruins there are parts of it still in good repair. Close by is Inch Pier, suitable for sea fishing, sailing and swimming.

The place is absolutely beautiful and atypical, isolated, quiet and on an island! This is a nice house tastefully decorated. I highly recommend !

Langans cottage is a comfortable holiday home located on an elevated site on the outskirts of Kerrykeel village in north Donegal. With the imposing Knockalla mountain as a backdrop, the cottage enjoys panoramic views over Mulroy bay. The holiday home has 2 bedrooms to sleep 5 comfortably. The bright living room is comfortably furnished and enjoys lovely sea and mountain views. It features a modern fitted kitchen with adjacent dining area. There is also ample parking at the house.
  • Mary was a great host. The cottage has beautiful views over Mulroy Bay and Kerrykeel. The house was clean and well presented with a large kitchen diner perfect for entertaining. Most of our evenings were spent looking at the beautiful sunsets over the bay. For any problems Mary was on hand to help and was very helpful when our delayed flight meant the we arrived at the cottage far later than planned. The location of the cottage was excellent. Close to Milford and the Wild Atlantic Way, we could explore the beautiful countryside of Donegal. This was my partners first visit back to Donegal for 20 years, Mary’s hospitality, the location of the cottage and the wonderful views made this a trip to remember Thank you So much.

One room in our 115 year old cottage on Inch Island - nestled in the lake of shadows take time to relax and walk the beaches, or a good hike up the hill for unparalleled views of Donegal. We are 8 kilometres from the nearest shop and pub so if you enjoy rural getaways this is a good spot! We share our home with farm volunteers who help on the farm throughout the summer as well as our house cat and some pipestrelle bats in the roof!
The cottage is 115 years old this year, and was actually the first home on the island to have a slate roof! We live on the ground floor of the cottage, we have one room for Airbnb guests upstairs (with a small shower room/toilet attached to the guest bedroom) as well an extra room for volunteers when they stay (a large day bed). Our two cats roams the house (with exception to the guest bedroom!) It's worth enquiring if there's more than two of you or you need an extra bed for little ones, as we don't always have volunteers and we don't charge anything extra for use of the 2nd room - just let us know in advance! :) We also have protected bats in the roof and you can see them flying outside at dusk! The bats are small pipistrelle bats and they're a protected species so they are the newest edition to the art house and you can hear them squeaking from one of the bedrooms! If you love wildlife I'm sure they'll be another edition. The sea is just 200 metres away, with the island spanning 5 miles in diameter (Inch Island is connected to the island via a land bridge, accessible 24/7, 365 days a year). If you enjoy painting or photography there are plenty of places to sit and create. We have a library full of art/photography/fashion/design books so feel free to sit and browse. We live next to a working family farm with work dogs. The wood fired stove heats the water and radiators with the added benefit of an oil fired heater if you don't feel like stoking the fire, but with the sometimes chilly Irish weather we'll always have the heating on. Wifi & Coffee are on tap: 4G always on router and (almost) infinite supply of coffee to keep the fireside stories flowing. Oh, and plenty of fuel for the fire too!
Inch Island comes from the Irish word 'inis', which simply means 'island'. So you'll be staying on 'Island Island', situated in Loch Súilí, or 'The Lake of Shadows'. The lake is actually an inlet of the Atlantic ocean, the name derived from the waters surface continually shifting in shapes, with dolphins, seals and (on occasion!) orcas that make their way into the inlet. As the lake is protected from the wilder Atlantic waves kayaking along the shore can be a beautiful experience, and the views from the top of the island accessed via the family farm are breathtaking.
  • We do not have the words - you have to experience that yourself. Sea view, unique bathroom, great hospitality, helpful, uncomplicated, flexible, great cats and much more ....

Dominic and Hannah were exceptional hosts and chatted about their visits abroad as well. They know just what someone would need for a nice stay. Thank you so much also for the colourful organic eggs and homemade bread!

  • At Dominic & Hannah, we felt like friends, not customers. Friends who invited us to share their dinner we had arrived. The location of their charming house is ideal, surrounded by nature at the edge of the water. This leg of our trip was unique and will remain an exceptional memory of the meetings possible by AirBnb.

In this area a wide range of sporting facilities are available. We are happy to assist guests with any queries or requests.

  • Marion was a great host we parked our car at her house and she gave us a lift to the hotel where we were attending a wedding. Marion cooked a fantastic breakfast in the morning to suit our time. A great place to stay and lovely views of the countryside

  • Marion and Gerry's place is a wonderful place off the beaten track. The room is cosy, inviting and clean. The house is a short 10 minute walk from the main strip. It's a perfect place to relax and unwind. Breakfast in the morning is the best way to start the day. There is also a lovely sitting room at your disposal. I loved staying here, 10/10 would recommend!
