Places to stay in South Norfolk District
We have reduced the rate to just cover our costs to try to help anyone who needs a place to stay. Budget accommodation, we welcome families and groups from all over the world to our home in the comfortable suburbs of Norwich and just within the bounds of the Broads National Park. Full of books, toys, plants, art and instruments.
A quirky semi-detached house built in 1930. Light and airy with lots of stripped wood floors, rainbow colours and plants. It's a real home with all the things a family could need - including books and toys for children of all ages (we have 5 ourselves!). Our cosy living room has a big TV with a Full House cable package, as well as Netflix - there's a even a Nintendo Wii. There's board games, plenty of books and musical instruments to for when you don't want any screens. The back garden is a riot of colour in June and July, with a lawn for lounging (sun loungers provided) and a patio for dining (outdoor seating for up to 10 people is provided). A well stocked kitchen with everything you need for real, actual cooking (we are so fed up of blunt knives, no salt and pepper and missing cork screws when we travel).
Quiet, civilised suburban area of Norwich. The road is quiet and residential. We're only 10 minutes drive from the airport or the train station.
  • Very respectable host. Helpful for last minute booking and for well needed questions. 10/10 recommend!

  • If you visit Joe's expect a house which is more like home. It had everything you could want and more. One of our party loved the musical instruments. Breakfast is as stated basic so if you want more and fresh milk take your own. Check in was easy and Joe wa very quick to answer our one query.

Our self contained flat is bright & cosy & consists of a double bedroom, bathroom, lounge & kitchen & is within walking distance of the city centre, Carrow Rd, Aviva, The Waterfront & the bus & train stations. Our flat is above our pub The Rose & each booking includes a £5 beer voucher. Access is separate to our pub which serves ales (CAMRA GBG 2019), craft beers, & food. Our pub is not rowdy or open late! Parking can be found on nearby streets or carparks or by arrangement with a neighbour
The flat is on the first floor and accessed by stairs. There is a shared outdoor decked area. Street parking is limited but there are 2 carparks nearby which are reasonable for overnight parking. As we are so close to the City centre there can be traffic noise at rush hour.
From the flat there is easy access to the beautiful historic centre of Norwich as well as main shopping areas, the river and the football ground. Close by are several parks and the area is well served for restaurants, takeaways and cafes and only a few minutes drive to the A47 to explore the Norfolk Broads and our lovely coast. We are easily accessible from the A11 too.
  • Dawn was really friendly and quick to reply to our messages. The flat was stylish and felt spacious for the two of us. It's in a great location only a short walk into the city centre and the pub downstairs is really cool (great drinks selection with a free £5 voucher, good alternative music, and a cool business link with a local Indian restaurant that delivers to your table!). We would definitely stay again.

  • Dawn's place is spacious, stylish, and sparkling clean. It is a short walk to the city centre and located right above the fabulous Rose Inn. Highly recommend.

    Michael2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great little flat right above the pub! Perfect location. Just note the pub does get busy when Norwich are playing at home.

    George2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • A very pleasant place to stay and all went very smoothly with check in and out.

    John2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn's flat was perfect for our two-night trip to Norwich. It was clean and comfortable and although it's above the pub, you don't get a lot of noise. It's a short walk into the city centre and a great space to come back to when you've been out all day. We'd love to stay again on a future visit.

    Adrienne2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for our needs, great communication and amazing hospitality. The pub below is smart and stocks great ciders and beers from all over. Noise is not an issue for the flat. We had a car and had no problems parking right by the flat. Would definitely stay again.

    Haydonias2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn’s flat is so lovely and makes a perfect cosy weekend away. The kitchen has everything you could want and the lounge is spacious with a massive Sky TV. The bedroom is cozy with large windows to give lots of light. The bathroom is great with a very large bath. We were just 10 minutes from the city centre so could easily walk in. We had some fantastic coastal walks and saw so many seals. What a beautiful part of the country.

  • A great place to stay if you are visiting Norwich. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very quiet. It is in a great location to walk into the city either up the main road or along the river. There are lots of amazing places to eat and drink relatively nearby in the city. I would heartily recommend visiting Norwich and staying at this apartment in particular.

The accommodation is a 2 bedroom first floor flat with kitchen, cosy living area, and bathroom. Sleeps 5, but can take 6. Excellent broadband. It was the hayloft above an old carriage house, with stables either side of a courtyard. Guests use our front door, with a private door off the hall leading to the accommodation. A peaceful setting in pretty village, with a pub, a short drive to Diss. We live on the ground floor. Large garden, good parking.
The entire first floor of our house. A door off the hall leads to the staircase. There is a spacious landing, off which are 2 bedrooms, an open plan kitchen/ living room area, and a bathroom with spa bath and shower. The living room area has a large HD TV, with freeview channels, sofa, and armchairs. There is a recently installed kitchen with cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. with plenty of utensils, pots, pans and crockery/cutlery. Guests can also use our washing machine, tumble dryer, on request.
Gissing is a small village about 5 miles from the market town of Diss. There is no shop in Gissing, nor the immediate surrounding villages, but we have a lively traditional village pub ( a 5 minute stroll away) which serves typical pub food (booking is advisable) as well as real ales. In the next village, Burston, (2 miles) is a gastro pub, slightly more expensive, but the food is lovely. It also has a nice garden. Again, we would advise booking. There are various other good pubs in the surrounding villages. Diss has a variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants, and a selection of takeaways which will deliver. There is a folder in the living room with details and menus. The nearest shops/supermarkets are in Diss and Long Stratton, about 10 minutes away by car. Diss is famous for the Mere, a lake in the middle of the town with an adjacent park. There are numerous attractions further afield, from Snetterton motor racing track, Banham Zoo, Center Parcs, Newmarket, Southwold, Aldeburgh and the coast, the Norfolk Broads, and of course the historic cities of Norwich and Bury St Edmunds. It is an ideal area for walking and cycling.
  • Lovely host, very friendly and open. Great spacious, quiet comfy room. Immediately felt comfortable on arrival.

  • I just want to let you know that I needed accommodation for the month of January, and found David and Judith's place on Airbnb, which was close to my work. They were so welcoming and accommodating throughout my stay, in every way! I would recommend the Hayloft to anyone with no doubts that you will be back to stay! I hope to be back next year too! Stella

    Stella 2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • David and Judith's place was absolutely first class. We had access and our own privacy to the whole upstairs with kitchen and a very nice living room. We also had a choice of two bedrooms to stay in as well. There were board games available, homemade loaf of bread and many other kind touches that really made this place such a pleasure to stay at. My girlfriend and I cannot recommend this place highly enough! We'd give more stars if it was possible :)

    Rhys2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality from friendly, flexible hosts. We were delayed and arrived late in the evening but David kindly greeted us and showed us around. This is a great place for families and my kids enjoyed the imaginative decor in their rooms and nice touches throughout! If you have any reservations about this space being above David and Judith’s home you needn’t worry - once there you will not notice. This is a nice place in a quiet location - we would happily stay there again.

    Jason2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little family space with great facilities. David and Judith have a lovely, friendly cat and dog which our two year old loved. We arrived to find milk, bread, butter, jam, cereal and Homemade cakes which was very much appreciated - especially due to the remote location. We would definitely stay here again. X

A cosy, two story annexe with fully functional kitchen, including a washing machine for guests sole use and cosy log burner in the living room. Guests are within walking distance of a fantastic gastro pub, should you not feel like cooking. https://www.theboars.co.uk Perfect for access to Wymondham and Norwich, or as a stop off on the way to the beautiful Norfolk Broads or beaches. Guests have off street parking directly outside the annexe.
Please note that the annexe has a stone staircase between floors and also low ceilings upstairs. I advise that owing to the stone staircase, this property may not be suitable if guests have young children who are mobile, or if any guests have vision or mobility impairment. The property has a free standing bath tub, but does not have a shower. I can provide a travel cot, or an extra single mattress if needed.
Spooner Row is a quiet rural town, however is within reach of the city of Norwich, which has many great restaurants and bars. I am happy to give recommendations. I also strongly recommend the local pub, The Boars, in Spooner Row https://www.theboars.co.uk
  • Lovely little cottage just outside Norwich. Very attentive host, great communication. Highly recommended

    Matt2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Really clean, quaint, very cute little place!

    Dylan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great three nights celebrating our anniversary at Lucy’s place. Well equipped and very comfortable. Log burning tips: use hardwood <20% moisture! Net bags from the garage just don’t burn! We topped up our hardwood logs and they’re just not the same. Love staying here, great location, excellent food just a short walk away and close to lots of places to visit. Highly recommend Lucy, top host - Thank you

    Andrew2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly beautiful and relaxing place to stay, just 8 minutes from Wymondham and 25 minutes from Norwich. It was nice and warm inside the annexe and the heat rose to the bedroom so there was no need to put the bedroom heater on. Everything you needed was there - ironing board, coffee machine, netflix, wood for the fire. Great big bath! Lucy provided butter, milk, cereal, bread. Great wifi. Easy check in/entry. Cute place that we would return to without a doubt.

    Hayley2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and cosy place to stay, has everything you need to a high standard. I probably would only recommend for shorter stays though as not much space or natural light if wanting to work in the day time

    Phil2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in this cute little annexe. It is set in a beautiful location, surrounded by countryside (some really good walks). Lucy was very helpful throughout our stay and provided fast responses when required. We definitely want to stay again!

    Sam2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We recently returned from a 6 night stay over Christmas, the annex is incredibly charming and cosy. It is full of character and has lots of lovely touches. The annex is very well equipped and the kitchen has all the basics you would need for a short holiday. It is situated up up a quiet lane and is very peaceful, with lovely walks and scenery straight from the front door. It is a lovely romantic spot (In fact we got engaged during our stay!) It is well situated for exploring the local area being only a 15 minutes drive from Norwich and 10 minutes to Wymondum which is a small town with all the ammenaties you would expect. Lucy was a fantastic host, thankyou for a truly wonderful stay! Lewis & Gem

  • The bed was extraordinarily comfy and the bath was great. It's a very relaxing place. The cooking facilities are good and the living room area comfy. The host Lucy was excellent and very helpful and replied promptly whenever we asked anything.

Goose’s Place is a converted garage apartment, situated just outside the town of Bungay. It’s decorated to a very high standard with a contemporary feel and is ideal for anyone wanting a few nights away to relax in the countryside. You’ll have access to the summerhouse down by our large pond where you are welcome to fish, read a book or have a picnic and enjoy the surroundings. Along with eggs, bread and cereals for breakfast, there'll be homemade scones and cheese straws awaiting your arrival!
The living space, which has its own private entrance and parking spot right outside the front door, has a flat screen TV, access to Netflix and Amazon Prime, Google Home Mini and free Wifi. There is a modern, fully equipped kitchenette, with tea-making facilities, coffee machine and large oven and hob. You can then just relax with a large glass of wine or beer on the sofa in the lounge area or read one of the many books and magazines provided. The bedroom area has a king-size bed with luxurious bedding, and the spacious bathroom has a large walk-in shower, heated towel rail and large mirror. It’s a delightful living space for a couple or solo traveller.
The historical towns of Bungay and Beccles are just 2.4 and 5.8 miles from the apartment, and for those who want to spend the day by the coast, the beautiful seaside town of Southwold is just a 30 minute drive away. There’s a real ale pub, which serves nice pub food, a mere 500-yards down the road and less than half-a-mile away is one of the best Italian restaurants you’ll ever eat at!
  • Very well thought through accommodation. Spotless and modern with lovely little touches such as welcome pack and bathrobes. Joseph the host was very welcoming and always responded promptly before stay and I'm sure if we needed him during stay he'd be equally helpful. Definitely worth trying.

  • If there was an award for greatest Air BnB ever this would win hands down! The reviews and the pictures don’t do this place justice (even though they are both incredible). Everything has been though of to make the stay so comfortable and relaxing! Cannot put into words what a wonderful time we had! Cannot wait to visit again in the summer! Thank you so much Joseph for everything (especially the knock on the door in the evening with a bottle of Prosecco!) You really made me an my girlfriend stay so special and memorable!

We still haven't got to try the local public house out. But we did get out to Beccles and Southwold for the day. We will definitely be back, hopefully later in the year.

Easy to find but very easy to miss. Plenty of parking....thankfully as we had 4 cars!. Dishwasher was a massive bonus! Very reasonably priced

Something for everyone's taste. Please do not hesitate to ask for recommendations as we will be happy to tell you about some of our favourite places.

  • Gilly’s place is very cosy and comfortable with a nicely laid out living room, stylish dining room with a fully equipped connected culinary area. Additionally, this space offers two modern bathrooms both equipped with showers and the bedrooms have cloud like mattresses ensuring a wonderful nights sleep. Would definitely recommend a stay here with the accommodation facilitating all our needs, with easy accessibility to local food outlets ranging from Tesco to Lidl, Subway to Nando’s and local fish and chips shops to Chinese takeaways promising nobody to be left with an empty stomach. Overall, would extremely recommend this place to anyone travelling to Norwich.

Built around 1870 The Stables at Hempnall House is a luxurious two bedroom property surrounded by gardens, woods and fields yet only 20 minutes drive from central Norwich, the capital of East Anglia with a wide variety of amenities, shops and entertainment. Converted in 2018 The Stables has two bedrooms, a bathroom and separate shower room. High quality fittings have been used throughout whilst the original beams and stable doors lend a touch of authentic charm
Either the terrace, overlooking our private wood, or the sofa in front of the wood burner (unlimited logs are included), are the perfect places to relax and take in the view. The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, small oven and microwave, fridge and a full sized dishwasher. There is an abundance of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. Why not invite your friends to dinner, the dining table seats six (or eight)! Our chickens provide a point of interest and sometimes even eggs. Children are encouraged to see if there are any. There is a gas barbecue available for your use. Hosts Kate and Colin live on site but you'll be the only people in the stables. They enjoy meeting guests and sharing their country home and grounds. We have parking for two cars outside The Stables, and adequate broadband. Secure cycle storage is available
A bridle path leads directly from the property to Hempnall, about a mile away, where there is a butcher and delicatessen, a well stocked shop, newsagent and post office (open, amazingly from 6am to 9pm seven days a week) and a petrol station. An artisan baker offers a selection of loaves every Saturday, ask for details. There is a popular community bar in the Old Mill which opens every Friday and Saturday evening. The Three Horseshoes public house, ten minutes walk away, is well known for its Sunday lunchtime carvery. The local Indian restaurant delivers, minimum spend £20
  • Lovely location and accommodation.

The home was stylish, clean and comfortable stay. I’d recommend this stay for most people, whether you want a short personal break or a fun stay away with friends!

  • Spacious accommodation, in a stylishly converted barn. All the facilities are high quality, and Colin & Kate are very welcoming. The accommodation is in a rural part of Norfolk, which adds to its charms. Highly recommended.

  • This beautiful converted stables is ideal for a quiet get away. It’s very close to many attractions in the area but tucked away in a secluded private spot. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Everyone was as described and shown in the pictures. We would happily return.

    Amanda2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Stables is a very peaceful retreat in the heart of the countryside. Sit and listen to the birds singing and watch the pheasants and rabbits skip about the garden; very relaxing. We had a 2 night stay, including delicious meals at the Netherton Steak House and The Fleece Inn, Bungay. We enjoyed antique shopping in Norwich city centre during the day on Saturday and enjoyed the fire at night. A great retreat for two couples or friends.

We are in the middle of Suffolk countryside, surrounded by fields with amazing views, colourful sunrises & sunsets. There is a maze of footpath & permitted walks right on our door-step. Ideal for that quiet week-end. Spectacular thunderstorms sometimes occur as the cloud formations follow the river valleys. During these storms rain-bows appear. We've not yet found a pot of gold though! At night if the sky is cloudless you can see all the stars & spot the well-known constellations.
This is our little smallholding which we are renovating. We have a mixture of animals which include ponies, chickens, ducks & dog. You will be staying in your very own warm & cozy private space with a fully fitted & equipped kitchen, solar heated shower with plenty of hot water & upstairs bed-room with a star gazing window over the bed. There's even an upstairs loo so you don't have to go downstairs at night. There's wi-fi and a digital radio but no TV Being 'rural' we have been somewhat overlooked by BT and although it normally works well there are occasions when it is slow or non-existant! Patience is then needed as it will come back. Peak times such as directly after school children get home is one example. In the fridge there's delicious fresh eggs from our flock of free range Marans along with milk, butter, brown & white bread plus three types of cereals in the cupboard not forgetting marmalade & honey, all for a yummy breakfast! Perfect for vegetarians too. There's no lounge or sofa due to lack of space but there are two five star rated padded camp chairs (the purple & black items in the photographs). These have good reviews from past guests & can be used in many parts of the space being very portable. They work well in the porch which, although small, is a warm bright and a pleasant place to sit. The camp table complements the space. In summer time they can be used outside on the paved area to enjoy the evening plus star watching later. Being padded you won't get cold undersides.
We are in the middle of rural farmed Suffolk with far reaching views. There is little road noise. Places of interest are all within easy reach. Plenty of walks on footpaths & permissive routes. Rumburgh is a small village with its own very popular pub. There are many easy circular cycle routes suitable for everyone.
  • A cosy, beautiful place to stay which feels like a true escape. The annex is very well designed, warm, spacious and spotlessly clean. The little farm is lovely with horses, chickens and Boudicca the dog! We felt so welcome, loved the extra touches like the fresh eggs and breakfast items. Would definitely return in future!

We welcome well behaved dogs, as does our local pub. The garden has a gate so can keep all but the smallest dogs contained too.
You get two double bedrooms downstairs, a double futon upstairs in the attic conversation, and an additional double room outside in a small cosy cabin. We also have several camp beds you are welcome to use in common spaces. There are lots of books and plants throughout the house, comfortable chairs to read and tables to eat at, The kitchen is well equipped with pots and pans, crockery and utensils - even tea, coffee, lots of herbal teas and herbs and spices. It's a real home from home with plenty of character.
Lovely Norfolk village with a great pub, lots of open countryside and good walks. Near the market town of Wymondham and only 10 miles from the ancient cathedral city of Norwich.
  • Thank you so much for letting us use your gorgeous cottage. It was very clean, and actually much bigger than we expected. We loved the garden too. Lots of privacy and it had a homely feel. There was also plenty sleeping room - beds, a cabin, and camp beds. We would definitely come again.

For over a hundred years, this characterful old dairy was where the cows were milked at Hawthorn Farm. Sympathetically and luxuriously converted into a two-bedroom cottage in 2017, it is self-contained and completely detached. Inside, original walls, beams and vaulted ceilings give it a spacious, airy feel. It has its own fully-equipped kitchenette, and a bathroom with a large shower, WC and basin. The spacious 18 x 14 foot carpeted living space has two huge comfy sofas and a table and chairs.
Tharston is a small, very quiet and picturesque farming village - you can really appreciate the big Norfolk sky here. It offers lovely walks along the Tas Valley, so it's perfect for a rural getaway. If you are looking for peaceful rest, this is an ideal place. Nearest shops, all amenities and several take-aways are in Long Stratton, the nearest village, 1.5 miles away. Tharston is just off the A140, nine miles from the medieval city of Norwich, five miles to the small market towns of Bungay and Wymondham and under 30 miles from the many beautiful beaches and walks of the Norfolk coast.
  • Lovley accommodation 😊👍🏼

This is a lovely light filled and spacious room with an amazingly comfy king-sized bed! It's got an old fashioned wardrobe, nice old painted floorboards and beverage making facilities so that you can feel you are almost in your own little flat. Our house is a colourful arty sort of house, as recent guests have pointed out, and we are all friendly. I put breakfast things on the table (cereals, bread, crumpets, spreads, milk etc) so guests can help themselves if they want to.
I'm not sure what makes this place unique as I've lived here so long but quite a few people have told me that they like all the wallpaper (quite retro, apparently, according to an art school trio that filmed here!) and the cosy lounge....
This area is a favoured attractive residential area of Norwich with good access to the city centre, transport links and the hospital and University. It would be ideal for someone working temporarily at the hospital, UEA, or in the theatre or attending an interview (I ve had a few guests staying overnight for interviews the next day). Just around the corner is the popular Greengrocer's coffee shop (great for drinks and meals), a Coop store with really nice staff, an eclectic food, jewellery and brilliant organic cosmetics shop (run by the charming Francis) and there are also some delightful non-chain pubs close by. There is also a Tesco Express and another Coop store on Unthank Road. If you want a springtime stroll in the area, you'll find Heigham Park about 3 minutes from our door.

This bright, warm converted centuries-old cart shed has a glazed facade to maximise your enjoyment of Norfolk’s beautiful big sky and spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Far-reaching views make it perfect for spotting wildlife - particularly owls - from the comfort of the sofa. There are country walks directly from the gate, and a private garden overlooking open countryside where you can watch the sunset and enjoy a BBQ.
Garden Cottage is accessed by a path through the Old Farmhouse Garden. It comprises an open-plan kitchen/diner/sitting room, plus a bedroom with ensuite shower room. Situated on Wacton Common, Garden Cottage is under two miles from Long Stratton, where you will find shops, pubs, places to eat, and takeaways. A walk across Wacton Common takes you to Great Moulton, home of the Fox and Hounds pub. Garden Cottage is a peaceful retreat that is perfectly situated for exploring Norfolk and Suffolk. The historical city of Norwich is 14 miles away, as is the market town of Bungay on the edge of The Broads National Park. Wymondham is under 10 miles, and the small coastal town of Southwold and the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 30 miles.
  • We had an amazing stay at the cottage this weekend. Highly recommended if you want a quite family getaway with amazing views from the rooms. Would love go back and to enjoy a summer break soon!!

    Prakash2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is super cute with amazing views out of the window. We slept with the curtains open one night, waking up to the view of the fields. Absolute best way to wake up, no street lights just clean and clear :-) x

    Caylee2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage, very private. Gorgeous views. Lovely waking up in the morning to see the cows plodding past the cottage. Fully equipped kitchen. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits left. 2 mile walk to the pub the Fox and hounds at Great Moulton, the food was very good. It’s definitely a place we’d like to come back to.

    Clare2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s place is lovely. Floor to ceiling glass all along one wall makes it gorgeously bright, but it also feels warm and cosy with nice decor, a couple of sofas and good heating. We enjoyed the nice spacious dimensions inside up to the roof and beams. Our baby son was very happy in the space as well. Sarah was very welcoming, but you also very much have your own space and privacy which was great.

    Sebastian2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place was wonderful and immaculate. Amazing view to wake up to!

    Ben2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • A really cosy little place, tucked away in unspoilt countryside. Garden Cottage is cosy, spotlessly clean, and with its large windows, offers a beautiful view over the Norfolk countryside. It is beautifully appointed. The bed and sofas are comfortable and there is everything you need such as a washing machine and dishwasher. The garden is small but very pretty. Sarah was very efficient and replied to any query promptly. The milk and biscuits on arrival were a nice touch too. I would highly recommend the Garden Cottage for a few days away from the hustle and bustle.

    Catherine2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s place was incredibly peaceful. We had a very relaxing couple of days looking out over the fields. A perfect place to decompress

    Tom2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s cottage is a wonderful cosy haven away from all noise & distractions. It’s got everything a couple might need, or family with a little child, to properly chill out. It is clean, well appointed, with comfy beds & sofas. Nicely decorated & furnished yet homely with books, games, tea milk & biscuits, we felt we were properly on a secret escape holiday. Amazing views, it really offers value for money. Sarah is quick with communication, full of details and suggestions, so we could easily plan our stay even when we arrived much later than expected & needed urgent advice on where to get dinner! Despite getting there in the dark, Sarah’s instructions meant we had no problems finding the rural location or accessing the property. We found Sarah to be very friendly, she respected privacy whilst also making herself available to help. We will ask to book again, and will probably also consider Sarah’s other larger accommodation on site for a bigger family stay in future.

With Covid-19 causing a great deal of stress for everyone at present, I would like to reassure my guests that I am doing everything I can to minimise any risk. The apartment is quiet and clean with no adjoining neighbours and before each guest arrives all touch surfaces are disinfected. All linen is clean and fresh and hand sanitiser is available for use. I hope this helps. Grosvenor House is superbly located to enjoy city life. Located 2 minutes walk from the Train station and Riverside.
This is a modern and contemporary two bedroom apartment situated on the forth floor. The sociable living space has a superb design element providing views over the city including the cathedral. The two bedrooms which are cosy but generous in size also share these views. They both come with double beds, blackout blinds and everything you would need for a good nights sleep.
The building is ideally positioned on one of the primary routes in and out of the city centre, as well as being within close proximity of Norwich Train Station, a mere two minute walk. As the regional capital of Norfolk, Norwich is famous for its vibrant art culture. It's a thriving city with plenty to offer for all including Norwich Cathedral, a host of trendy restaurants and bars, picturesque parks and The Norfolk and Norwich Festival. Located close to the coast, Cromer, Sheringham, Great Yarmouth and Gorleston with their fantastic sandy shores are only a short drive away for those who like to stroll the promenade or relax on a beach. Or perhaps chance it at one of the casinos! Another great attraction is the beautiful Norfolk Broads where you can hire a boat for the day or relax at one of the riverside pubs. With a wealth of local amenities close by, Grosvenor House is the ideal place for a stay in the fine city of Norwich. 💛💚

We were met at the entrance where we were then shown to the apartment and given a brief tour. The apartment instantly felt cosy and inviting and we spent a good few hours settling in before heading in to Norwich. We had a great nights sleep, too. We're looking forward to booking the apartment again for when we next visit Norwich!

Charming Edwardian home in the centre of the Golden Triangle area of Norwich. A short walk from Unthank road with its cafes pubs. Frequent buses run to the station and the UEA. The city centre of this stunning cathedral city is just a 20 minute walk away.
The advertised room is a pleasant guest room in our large terraced house. There is a neighbouring bathroom which can be for exclusive guest use. We have a pretty garden with decking and a spacious kitchen and breakfast room. There is a travel cot if required .
This is delightful residential area with a friendly atmosphere home to both families and students.
  • From the moment we were greeted and shown to the room, we were impressed. The room was beautiful with everything you could want for, we enjoyed a deep bath in the stunning bathroom and a really delicious breakfast (cereals, yoghurts, spreads, fresh bread, juice, fruit- amazing!). Andy and Deborah are a lovely couple who are clearly passionate about hospitality! I am absolutely amazed at the value for money, the tea and coffee available is room was luxurious, and availability of my favourite natural branded bath goodies. The breakfast alone was amazing value. Daffodils everywhere - this place will make you feel happy!! If you’re coming from afar we can recommend The Wallow - self service wine dispensers, 25% off on Wednesdays! Too much champagne so we got a taxi back through the city for £7. Can’t write enough wonderful things about this place, and whenever we are next in need of a night away, or a night off driving, we will gladly return! Have told all our friends!!!!

"I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree", inspired the creation of this magical Arts & Crafts-style treehouse. Set in woodland in the Waveney Valley, and naturally formed around growing trees, The Treehouse offers you a truly cosy, romantic retreat which oozes charm. Inspired by stained glass & bespoke wood craft, this experienced Airbnb superhost, together with Round Craft, an acclaimed artisan build company, have created a playful hideaway with a surprise behind the wardrobe.
We have put a whole year of love into this great escape; specifically designed for the Airbnb traveller who loves luxurious and quirky spaces with a difference. There aren't many treehouses which can boast having central heating, a flushing toilet and a cascade shower. Please note, the house is solar-powered so you can charge your phone but we haven't the voltage to power a TV, iron or hairdryer! The kitchen has a four ring gas hob but NO OVEN. The sitting room area has places to lounge and talk into the night, but does not have a TV. This is a space to truly find yourselves again. Plentiful interesting books and candles help to adorn a romantic atmosphere. Set on a 40 acre hobby farm with free-range animals a stone's throw from your door, the Treehouse possesses numerous touches to inspire and make you smile. This hand-built house will bring a sense of fun and tranquility to your stay - set in it's own little private piece of woodland near the host's house. Should you be a larger group, we would recommend you check out my other listing... an authentic Mongolian yurt sited in the field next door. Great for larger families or groups of friends.
Set in the beautiful Waveney Valley, between two lovely market towns of Beccles and Bungay, you can hire a boat on the Broads, take a tour of a vineyard or hike the Angles Way- all on your doorstep.
  • A lovely nook on the countryside. A break from the mundane and a chance to relax and reflect.

  • A fantastic treehouse Located on a wonderful barn atmosphere. The interior is cosy and warm with quirky fixtures and fittings that make this place really unique. A true escape of modern life when waking up to livestock each morning. Celeste gave us a few travel tips about the local town which isn’t a far drive Also the opportunity to walk around her farm unfortunately we didn’t do this as we were pressed for getting home. Celeste cat also made an appearance when we left the door open loading some bags.

  • To celebrate our birthdays Robert and I decided to book ‘the magical tree house in Suffolk, not knowing that this was going to be the most memorable experience ever. To welcome us on our arrival was Celeste with a big smile. The tree house is set in the middle of an enchanting woodland with a variety of animals enjoying the outdoors. The place is quirky and creatively handcrafted, without a doubt the best getaway from a busy London life. Not only is the tree house pretty, like in a fairytale, but it has a flushing toilet too. Celeste’s hospitality was impeccable, on our arrival we found 4 fresh eggs from her free range hens. Rob thoroughly enjoyed the flying experience with Sergie, with the most gorgeous sunset ever. There is so much to say about this extraordinary experience, the alpaca walk is absolutely a must! A big thank you to Lucie who took us for a walk with two gorgeous alpacas. We are taking away from this experience so much more than just a beautiful treehouse!!! Their dedication to rescue the animals is admirable. I have absolutely fallen in love with Lottie the goat and Comet the kissing alpaca. We couldn’t recommend this whole experience highly enough. We are already planning to return with our children in the summer. Thank you all at Church Farm for making this experience a unique one. Paola & Robert xxxx

  • Wow! We loved the treehouse! It was amazing! What a unique and quirky find! It exceeded our expectations and we love the future terrace /gin plans that you have for it! I would highly recommend the treehouse. Celeste is a superb host! We definitely want to come back! I have taken some dark candle lit photos to show how cosy and romantic it looks at night. I am happy to send them? Thank you again Celeste xx

    Sarah2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at The Treehouse for my boyfriends birthday. Celeste kindly put up decorations I sent her and had it all beautifully ready for when we arrived. It was cozy and snug and a beautiful stay - the animals being an added bonus!! Celeste was so kind, offering lots of advice ahead of our stay too!

Lovely self-contained chalet getaway in Norwich, within walking distance of the city centre. En-suite shower room, fridge, microwave, tea and coffee-making facilities and kitchen basics.
The chalet is accessible through our driveway, meaning you'll be completely independent! It's setup with an en-suite shower room and has a microwave, fridge, kettle and kitchen basics. Tea, coffee and some milk provided. You'll also find useful information about the local area and things to do in and around Norwich.
Our street is quite and residential. There's a useful corner shop 25m away and Tesco and Lidl are about 10min walk away. 5min away you'll find the Fat Cat, a great local pub for craft beer and, just across the street from them, the Wolf and Social restaurant.
  • Nice and cosy place with everything you need inside.

A rural retreat on the edge of the Broads in the beautiful Waveney Valley. Just 30 mins drive from fabulous east coast beaches and the historic city of Norwich. This holiday location is perfect for relaxing and enjoying local walks and amazing countryside or getting "out and about" for day trips. Enjoy miles of off road footpaths across the beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk border. Local market towns of Bungay and Beccles have many attractions with Beccles being the "Gateway to the Norfolk Broads"
The accommodation is a detached self contained bungalow next door to the Hosts house. It is fenced off and totally private. It is modern and well equipped and provides spacious accommodation for two offering a separate bedroom, bathroom, utility and kitchen/living room for "home from home" comfortable living. It has its own driveway and parking spaces and has a large shingle outdoor seating area and bbq. The outdoor space is fully enclosed and therefore dog friendly. The inside is modern, stylish and well equipped. It is light and airy with open roof spaces and velux windows letting in lots of natural light. The accommodation is ideal for couples however we welcome additional infants under 2 years old if you can supply your own cot and linen. This was formally a garage and farmhouse outbuilding converted 10 years ago to an annexe to all modern insulation building regulations keeping it warm and cosy in winter.
Within the village, Broome Heath is visited by people from miles around as it is well known for it fantastic lakes and country walks. The Artichoke pub in Broome is friendly and serves great food and real ales. They are a dog friendly pub. Local towns and villages also have a wealth of country pubs and good food.
  • We had a very peaceful week exploring the area with detailed maps for dog walking supplied by the hosts. Super clean, great location, enclosed private garden, beautiful cottage with every amenity you could possibly need. David was easy to contact and very quick to respond. A lovely welcome with gifts for both us and our dog. Would definitely recommend to family & friends. Thank you so much for perfect week.😊🐾

  • A perfect cottage, hosts were very welcoming and incredibly dog friendly. Spotlessly clean with modern furnishing. Great value for money and an ideal location for relaxation, country walks and a quiet break. I would highly recommend, a definite 5 star rating!

    Laura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at David's cottage. The cottage was super clean, comfortable, and well furnished, conveniently located near a pub and dog walking area. We hugely appreciated the drinks and food that David left for us as we had had 6 hour car journey with a 5 months old baby and didn't fancy a trip to the shops for getting dinner. David has been very quick to reply to all messages and was very helpful in allowing us to have a slightly earlier check in on the day of arrival. Would certainly recommend David's cottage for anyone visiting the area.

    Elisa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely couple of days away in this beautiful cottage. It was provided with so many little extras which made the stay even better. We were amazed at the cleanliness and the amenities. David was easy to contact at all times but we also felt private and in our own little space. Thank you for such lovely hosting, we will definitely return

    Katie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z

Corona Virus: All surfaces, door nobs, switches, handles etc have been carefully disinfected for your safety. A 16c listed and part thatched cottage oozing character and history. Modern furnishings compliment revealed timbering, original beams and an inglenook fireplace with wood burner. In the heart of a friendly, quiet medieval village with 2 gastro pubs, coffee shop offering delicious homemade food and a general store closeby. Broads, seaside, walks, historic, cultural city & welcoming folk
The walls are full of original art and photography as well as quirky features around every corner. Painted in the traditional Norfolk colour pink, this is a listed building in a medieval conservation village full of historic features. The bedrooms have comfortable beds to accommodate up to 6 people as there is a spare bed that can be put up in the larger garden room ( that room would then accommodate 4 people in 1 room, a double and 2 singles). I have a cot bed for a baby. There's also a high chair, toys, books etc for children. For adults there are music and film dvd's, books and a barbecue in the garden. The owner has taken care to ensure that guests have every comfort during their stay. There are tv's in every bedroom and a large one in the living room as well as a dvd player and a music centre. The sun room provides a perfect private space to get away from it all and relax. Through the French Windows is a small veranda with seating and a herb garden. Beyond the veranda down a short but pretty pathway there is a sunny established garden where you can eat al fresco, barbecue, or just relax. The living room is colourful and cosy with a woodburning stove and comfortable contemporary seating. Behind an oak door there's a 'secret' stairway and on the back wall is the original bakers oven door. The bedrooms are individually designed to give a different feel to each space. The Poppy room with its deep red accents and Moroccan style lighting make this a warm and rich space to relax in. The Garden room is larger with a double and a single bed. This has more traditional English colouring in the furnishings with an original fireplace, a 'secret' staircase and a fabulous long window looking down onto the sun room and beyond. The bathroom has a walk in shower. If you need toiletries there’s lots in the cupboard on the landing you can use. If no one is coming after you I'm very happy for you to leave in the afternoon...maybe after lunch. Ask me if you're not sure or I'll let you know. Please be aware that the cottage is 16c therefore some areas like the landing have low ceilings. Mostly everywhere else is fine but if you’re tall you might need to be careful in a few areas in the cottage. You have sole use of the cottage. I live next door. The village is friendly and has an active community. It has its own castle ruins, a village green with a market cross building and a whipping post. There are wonderful walks all around the outskirts including the commons history can be traced back to the 12c. A number of orchids grow on the common as do huge and unusual fungi. It's also a great area for bird spotting. The village has 2 great gastro pubs (book ahead), a village general shop and a fantastic coffee shop selling home made sweets and savouries. • Quirky, old and homely. A very comfortable cottage with wood burning stove that was great in the evening while opening a bottle of something. Morning coffee in the ‘fairy room’ (as my daughter called it) was very tranquil. Thanks for a wonderful few days!

  • Our stay at Caryn’s cottage was lovely. Caryn is really friendly and welcoming. The cottage is amazing and having the log burner is nice and cosy. The beds are comfy and the living room and sun room are gorgeous. The kitchen has everything you need! We ate at the local pub (very near to the cottage) and this was good too.

CORONA UPDATE Sorry to say, but as of today 18th March 2020, we are not taking any bookings before June, and even those will be subject to events. Solidarity and Good luck. Mike & Sheila. "Like sleeping on a cloud." Perhaps an exaggeration, but this room has a very comfortable bed and a view over the neighbourhood toward the gothic tower of St. John's Cathedral. Plus a single bed.
A large, cosy attic room; way up high, overlooking the peaceful street and beyond to the nearby cathedral. With its low angular ceilings and eclectic decor, it's a perfect hideaway for a couple, or large enough for a small family. The king-sized bed has been described as like "sleeping on a cloud," and there's a single bed tucked under the sloping ceiling too. There is even enough room to inflate an air mattress in this room to accommodate a larger family - (Airbandb actually began business with an air bed). This quiet, characterful room also has a bureau desk which makes it an ideal space from which to catch up on work or study We also have two other double rooms listed on AirB&B - The Island Room and The Red Room.
Our neighbourhood is really the heart of Norwich City itself. Our house is only 10 minutes walk from the city centre with its colourful market, historic buildings, arty lanes, commanding castle and vibrant shopping heaven. Even closer to home we have Unthank Road village about 2 minutes walk down the road where you will find a Tesco Express, Adnams Beer & Gift Shop, The Blue Joanna Bistro, The charming Pear Tree Inn, the William & Florence Gourmet Pub, The Unthank Kitchen Café, Indian and Chinese takeaways, a Subway Sandwich Shop, newsagent, pharmacy, greengrocers, butchers, baker, but sadly no candlestick makers. There are also at least 8 other pubs with 5 minutes walk of our place, more beyond that. If pubs aren't your thing, there is the imposing neo-gothic Roman Catholic cathedral just down the road.
  • Mike's place was really charming with loads of personal touches. Mike was so welcoming and made us feel like we were going home to our aunt and uncles place, not a stranger's.
