Places to stay in Stirling-Rawdon
Secluded off grid cabin. Not remote but a very quiet and peaceful location beside the stream on our small hobby farm.Cabin is surrounded by woods and the stream. Built in a 2016 by local Amish craftsmen, the cabin was designed and decorated to reflect an earlier era. Suitable for one or two people, there is ample room to relax. No washroom, but a new, clean outhouse. We have a homemade outdoor kitchen with BBQ, propane griddle and 2 propane burners. We will do our best to warm up the cabin 4 U
The cabin is about 300 Sq ft plus an 80 Sq ft screened in porch. The cabin is equipped with a lovely wood cookstove, kerosene lamp and lots of antique and vintage articles. Included is paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, cookware, dishes and cutlery, hand towels, wash clothes, a jug of water, coffee press, kettle,as well as some books and boardgames. We always have farm fresh free range eggs, artisanal soaps and jam for sale, all from our farm Your well behaved dog is welcome too! The firewood is always free!
The area surrounding the cabin are forest and farm fields. Rural Stirling Rawdon is primarily a farming area. 20 minutes from Belleville and 30 minutes from Prince Edward County with it's beaches, wineries and craft breweries. There is a gravel it nearby, on weekdays you may hear noise associated with that, as well as truck traffic.
  • The cabin by the stream is beyond beautiful. We were lucky enough to have been there in a sunny cold day. It was so relaxing and unwinding! The only noise you hear is the trickle of the stream. The best city getaway. We will be back for sure

  • Great place for off the grid cabin. Its brought be back to my time as child in my uncle's cabin. Highly recommend for anyone who was to be a away from all the hustle of everyday life.

  • Wow is it ever hard to put into words just how WONDERFUL the cabin by the stream really is! My husband and I spent 3 nights and 4 days just relaxing, resting and reconnecting in the most beautiful secluded spot with our 2 fur babies. The farm fresh eggs were so yummy and the “souvenir soap” a cute touch. It’s easily one of our new favourite spots. Take the kerosene lamp onto the screened in porch and listen to the stream water as it passes by. Watch the birds, squirrels and chipmunks gather their breakfast. Walk the property and look at the rolling hills of farm land and their beautiful horses. And let’s not forget about Dixie, the cutest little “snorting” dog. The hosts are wonderfully kind people! Thanks so much for everything! 😊

  • John's cabin was a very nice experience. The wood stove was our favourite thing about this trip. The cabin was nice and clean with cool vintage decorations on the walls. We had our privacy by the stream in a little forest.

    Kevin2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Had a very cozy stay! John was very communicative and accommodating. Thank you!

    Daniel2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin by the Stream is such a lovely, peaceful location. The cabin itself is pretty and well-stocked with many things that you need during your stay. It feels like a private setting, but is still conveniently located. John is very helpful, not to mention the farm fresh eggs are delicious.

    Samantha2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had the perfect weekend getaway in the idyllic cabin by the stream. Such a rejuvenating place to connect with nature :) thanks John, we’ll be back!

Cozy yurt in a private forest area. Walking distance to the cheese factory (ice cream, lunches, snacks), produce stands, and a park. Short drive to Madoc (groceries, beer/ LCBO, parks, beach, library, bakery, restaurants, etc). Perfect area for star gazing, long walks & bike rides. This yurt is in a camping setting, with indoor bathroom, no shower (guests can use the house shower) or wifi but there is electricity, indoor camping stove, BBQ, mini fridge, all pots & pans and clean drinking water.
***** For winter stays, guests are required to supply their own wood for the indoor wood stove ( see below) if you are not comfortable using a wood stove it is not a good idea to stay in the winter as it is the ONLY source of heat****** The yurt is on the same 20 acre property as our house, but it is in its own secluded area in the forest. There is an indoor private bathroom in the yurt and for guest stays over 2 days, you are welcome to come up and use the house shower/ bath. The yurt is all setup to cook meals both inside and out with all cookware, dishes and utensils provided (including a toaster, mini fridge, kettle, coffee press, & water cooler) . We have provided an indoor stovetop for the interior and a small Weber propane bbq for the outside. The outside area of the yurt is in a secluded spot and includes a covered seating area, chairs, a fire pit and the game "cornhole". Guests are required to supply their own wood. We suggest picking some firewood up locally (we give locations upon booking)for the interior wood stove during the winter months to heat the yurt. If you are not comfortable using and running a wood stove, a winter stay may not be the best time to enjoy the yurt- this is still winter camping! We do provide detailed descriptions on how to run the wood-stove and during the winter you can heat to a comfortable 18C or more if you run it properly. There are places locally that sell bags of spilt wood for $5. In the winter months we supply 2 pairs of snowshoes- one male and one female pair! We do charge an extra fee for additional guests to cover supply costs and cleaning, but this is only applicable to additional adult guests. Families are welcome with no extra person fees. If you are looking to relax and take in nature then this is the place for you.
We live in an active farming community that has a large Mennonite and Amish population. Down every road you can find a produce stand, farm fresh eggs and other awesome organic goods. There are always tons of events happening in the small towns surrounding us and multiple farmer's markets every weekend.
  • We had a great stay at Alysia’s. The yurt had everything we needed for our stay, plus it was clean, cute and cozy. The property is lovely and woodsy, but the hosts are close by if you need anything. We will be back for sure!

  • Just Lovely !

    angela2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and cozy space to relax and explore the area. It was spacious and clean with every amenity you would need. The wood stove keeps the space toasty and the windows let in gorgeous light. Nothing better than falling asleep under the moonlight.

    Leah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Do not miss this private, magical little gem of a spot. Alysia is a wonderful host and the property is so very lovely and well cared for. Shot out to Chris for the awesome firewood. The whole trip couldn’t have been easier or more enjoyable. We will be back!

  • Very cozy stay in the yurt. Nice walking trails not too far away.

    Kate2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • 11/10 experience. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a little winter getaway. I didn’t actually even meet alysia because getting here and using everything was so easy and clear that we never needed to really ask her for anything! Will be back in the summer!

    Marissa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing getaway at Alysia's yurt. Everything was absolutely perfect. It was cozy and delightful in every way! We went snowshoeing and sat by the fire and relaxed with not a care in the world. Alysia was an outstanding host. Highly recommend! Also, highly recommend getting wood from their neighbour who will deliver if you are staying here in the winter :)

  • Wonderful home for a family weekend in the winter!

    Emily2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin at Stonehaven is the perfect place for a relaxing weekend retreat. We went for our First Annual Bookclub weekend and had the best time. The house was perfect for cooking and sharing meals, chatting about the the book by the fire, playing games, practicing yoga, snowshoeing and relaxing in the hot tub. We plan to make this an annual weekend retreat.

  • The place is just as described. Peaceful and quiet, well-maintained, rustic little cabin. Check in and getting oriented was straight forward, everything in the cabin runs tip-top. Robert was a helpful and gracious host, gave excellent detailed instructions so that I had no questions at all and didn't need to contact him 'til I was closing up to head out. But, he was easily reachable if I had needed him for anything, and super friendly and accomodating. I'll be back for sure!

  • Finding that I was sick of complaining about winter, I decided to book a last minute getaway for my partner and I, and our dog. I was looking for somewhere that would give us the opportunity to be outside more than inside. I came across Robert's cabin and was immediately interested and he was very quick to respond to my inquiry! Robert's cabin and property was exactly as promised, clean, cozy, with lots of thoughtful touches. There were skis, snowshoes, skates, etc. and tons of trails to explore! I highly recommend this booking and would absolutely consider going back again!

  • This was our second stay at Kelly's and we will definitely stay there again when we are in the area.

  • This little gem was perfect , it exceeded our expectations. I will definitely book again. Loved the pumpkin spiced muffins Kelly left for us.

    Golda2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely accommodation attached to host's home. Serene country setting. Lots of nice amenities and extras in the suite. Very comfortable bed. Kelly welcomed us warmly and was a great host.

    Gwen2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We will be back!! Always such a wonderful stay when we book Kelly's BnB! Beautiful place, clean and such thoughtful little touches, like fresh baked cookies! Very nice couple!

    Andrea2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Kelli and her husband were amazing! All the little extras made the stay even more enjoyable! The pictures and the description do not do it justice. They went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was great - even having fresh cookies available on the table when we arrived, the wide assortment of DVDs Available for the TV in the bedroom, and also taking a children’s kitchen playset out of storage so my children could play with it during our stay. It is a perfect place to spend some time relaxing and only 10 mins away from the beautiful rustic town of Stirling. One of our favourite parts of the stay was the beautiful little sunroom at the back!

    Nicole2019-09-29T00:00:00Z

    Joel And Laurie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kathleen was very quick to respond to our questions. The space was clean and beautiful. The property was lovely and there was plenty of space for our group of 8 people. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Kirsten2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and unique space that is kept very clean. We brought our two young children and they had an amazing time. One note if you are planning to bring a toddler, there is no way to block the stairs from the two Queen beds so a young child could easily fall down the stairs. If your child is prone to getting out of bed and exploring you should plan to bring something like a pack and play so that they are not able to get out of bed while you are sleeping. Our children are already asking when we will bring them back to 'the church'.

    Hannah2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The host is very helpful with all kinds of info needed. Great getaway home for family! Completely open space. A bit awkward for couples staying together but overall extraordinary experience staying at a chapel.

    Coco2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this Airbnb was 5 stars! We had a large group stay on both properties and everyone was blown away by how nice it all was. It was very clean, had all the necessities, and the outdoor space was beautiful. I can’t wait to go back!

Historic lodge building with modern amenities. The Lodge is a rustic, rural property, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Open concept downstairs with washroom on main floor. 4 small bedrooms upstairs; 3 Double beds and 1 Queen bed. Set on 30+ acres of beautiful wooded land, teeming with wildlife.
The Lodge offers a rustic, rural space for gatherings and special events, and is also cozy enough for a country getaway. It has an open concept main floor, with one washroom, and four small bedrooms upstairs. Located in the picturesque country side of Stirling-Rawdon Township, the Lodge offers a rustic retreat to our guests. Originally built in 1888, the Lodge was originally used as a community gathering place. We have restored and updated the Lodge to give it much needed modern amenities, as well as room for accomodations.
The Lodge is located in rural Ontario, on a country road, off the beaten path approximately 10 kilometres from the nearest town of Stirling. It is located on a hard-top country road. We are in the heart of an agricultural community, and there is often tractors, farm machinery and All-Terrain Vehicles travelling the road. Please use caution and slow down when approaching slow-moving vehicles. Cooke Road is inhabited by several Amish families, so horse and buggies are a common sight (and sound). Please drive carefully and slowly when approaching these vehicles and give them plenty of room, when passing.
  • Great spot, exactly as advertised.

    Jeffrey2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our family enjoyed the stay. It was a nice quiet and private location.

  • We spent our long weekend at the Tanner Lodge and everyone had a great time. Very unique building with modern touches in a rustic space. The pool table was a huge hit. We will definitely be back next time we need to relax away from the city. Thank you Ashley!

  • Ashley was super nice and very easy to communicate with. I didn’t personally stayed at her place but my out of town friends did and said they loved it and had an amazing time and would highly recommend it!

    Bertrand2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Pool table, dart board, nice big lawn, lots of parking, and central air for when its 35 degrees outside. Had lots of fun

    Talon2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley is a meticulous host, she is very responsive to the questions and messages we have sent. The place was very clean, warm and we did not miss anything, whether it was bottled water, towels or firewood. A sofa with a bigger tv corner would be a suggestion to improve the stay but the common room is very spacious and it was nice to meet there to chat and eat. The place is peaceful, it is nice to stay there, the environment is very quiet. Thank you!

    Lucie2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • So much better than what you would expect. I can’t even express how at home I felt here, very clean, basic amenities, a great place to bring people together but don’t bring any couch potatoes cause they won’t have a couch to sit on although they do provide lots of chairs. Also if you don’t appreciate a cemetery this isn’t the place for you... It looked like there was tons of property making it a great spot for summer. Overall this place is an amazing historical spot, very homey, very well kept & the hosts are very accommodating.

  • Such an incredible experience! I highly recommend staying here and it is honestly even better than the photos! The use of all of the water toys and fishing rods and little extras were amazing and Jess and Ryan’s welcoming demeanour were just the finishing touches. The outdoor shower was unreal and the camping stove/kitchen setup made for an awesome fireside dinner. Would definitely love to check it out during the winter!

  • Great little nook to get away from the city!

    Curtis2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this and will be back for sure. The rental encompasses the best parts of camping and cottage life. The tipi with it’s hardwood floor and beds made for a comfortable space, and the outdoor kitchen and shower allowed us to really enjoy the outdoors. Jessica greeted us even though it was late with a campfire already going. There were kayaks, a canoe and a paddle boat available to use. And the scenery and lake was gorgeous. Highly recommended.

  • Jessica's place is beautiful and you get a lot of privacy. She's was very accommodating to us and our pup and was a great guide to the town, which is a must to visit. You get a lot of comfort amenities but still like like you're camping. Having a an outdoor hot shower was awesome. Jessica was overall a great host, we hope to visit again soon

  • We had a fantastic stay at Andrew's cottage. The cottage had everything you need with a well stocked kitchen and ample firewood for the fireplaces. The beds were very comfy and the bathrooms were nice and large. The hot tub was a definite highlight. The view of the surrounding farms (horses and llamas included) and hikes (snowshoes were available) around the property were added bonuses. We are already making plans to come back again! Thanks again for the wonderful stay!

  • Absolutely beautiful home, everything small detail thought of & provided, even ones that weren't expected. Gorgeous view, lots of light, truly an amazing getaway experience from start to finish in every facet. Can't give a high enough rating.

Close to the Havelock jamboree and the RPM show. All paper plates, bowls, cups, knives, spoons and forks are provided as well as pots and pans for cooking. We have two 2 burner propane stove a barbecue. We have a pond for skating this February and March as long as I determine that the conditions are safe. There is a fire pit with wood provided. There is also a generator to power the toaster over, toaster, microwave and coffee maker.
Other than the trails and cabins this wilderness is untouched. You can take a Greyhound bus to the town of Marmora . And from there 6 km trip in a taxi will get to the cabin.
  • Great place! We had a big group and Rob accommodated us all. He was quick to respond to any requests. There was a lot of room around the area to set up tents as well. I highly recommend this place to families and big groups.

  • Robert's property is great if you're looking for a comfortable, relaxing weekend off the grid and away from the hectic nature of city life. A rustic setup with comfy beds, clean outhouse, eggs and meat for purchase, tons of firewood available, and all the cooking related items you may need. Our group went to check out Petroglyphs Prov. Park during our stay (about 45mins drive) but there are plenty of closer options for hikes/other outdoor attractions. Robert was easy to reach and communicate with, making our stay an enjoyable one!

    Aaron2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended. Wonderful host. The Beds were comfy. The cooking facilities were good enough, it was nice to find coffee, plates, cutlery, napkins. Everything had been thought of. The fire pit was definitely our favourite and the fire wood was reasonable priced. Nice quiet location.

    Karl2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it! It was exactly what we were looking for and was as advertised. We look forward to returning.

    Torres,2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The place is great. Wood burbing stove, fireplace, cabin. What more do you want to hear? Super cozy weekend. I’m booking regularly from now on.

    Nikolai2018-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Robert responds quickly and is v attentive

    Thea2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was way better than expected. Photos do not do justice. This is a great place to getaway for a quiet seclusion trip with close ones or significant other. Robert was more than helpful with clear instructions with how to use appliances, generator, shower etc. He also wrote out a map of exciting trails to take and easy directions on how to get there and back from the cabin. We had the opportunity to go to his farm where he allowed us to feed the pigs, chickens, and roosters. We were able to bring our dog around the trails and the animals were extremely friendly with our dog. The cabin has more than enough space with a separate kitchen, shower to feel at ease. I definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who enjoys the outdoors and the great nature that surrounds us. We look forward booking this cabin for our next getaway. THANK YOU Robert!

    Michelle2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Better than expected. Robert's Cabin is very private and tucked away, but just minutes away from the Crowe River Conservation area and Callaghan Rapids. Fun swimming. Quiet camping/glamping/cabin-ing with LOTS of room to explore. If you want a simple getaway from the city, this is it! We can't wait to get back. Thanks Robert!

  • Great weekend. Nice open concept cottage with lots of bedrooms. Very nice to have the hot tub.

    Connor2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Deanna was helpful and prompt. The cottage was fantastic, very spacious and clean. The only issue was the weak wifi. The snow was plowed on the driveway but you need a running start to get up if you don't have AWD. Will definitely stay here again.

    J2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our group had a great time at this cottage, the location was great and the place large enough to accommodate a big group. The place was clean and held comfortable beds and really nice furniture! There was easy access to the lake for ice fishing and people in the area were very friendly. There were a couple of minor issues while there but Deanna was quick to respond back to me and was very open to suggestions for future groups. I would just suggest that any other groups through should be sure to bring some essentials such as dish/hand soap and toilet paper as there wasn’t a ton provided but this isn’t a big issue. Overall I would for sure recommend this cottage to people and would love to see it myself in the summer!

    Tiffany2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Deanna was an excellent host with quick replies to any questions. She was very accommodating and friendly which improved our already great experience!

    Raman2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 8 adults stayed at Deanna’s cottage for 2 nights in December. Love the large open concept space for cooking, eating and socializing. Sleeps 10 comfortably. The two ground floor bedrooms are cooler than the main floor in winter but there are plenty of blankets. Nice to have linens and towels provided. Beautiful view of the lake and convenient location. Deanna is a responsive host. Would definitely stay there again.

    Wendy2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Deanna's cottage is stunning! Pictures do not do it justice! Deanna is very quick to reply. The location of the property is very private. The property is on a very steep hill, the driveway can be difficult to manage. The dishwasher, oven and wifi did not work during out stay, however we still managed and were still pleased with the cottage itself. Would definitely recommend!

    Kayla2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Over and beyond expectations. Loved the communication and amenities that came with the cottage. It was spacious and comfortable with a great view. Easy access to town and easier access to the lake. It was the perfect Autumn escape and my friends and I would absolutely love to come back again. Deanna is an amazing host and will surpass expectations to ensure your stay was a good one.

  • This was SUCH a perfect getaway, right in between Ottawa and Toronto & so secluded, what a phenomenal way to spend Christmas! The pictures don’t do it justice, the lake is so calm & the stars are unreal! There was more than enough space for everyone in the main house, beds were very comfy, Warren even had a Christmas tree and stockings up! The electric fireplaces were a great feature & kept us very cozy. Couldn’t be happier & we definitely would love to stay again!

    Tori2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent host, excellent location and good value all round. It was by far the best we could find for our group of 2 families, both with a 3-year old and baby/toddler, and another couple with a dog, ie 3 families. Lots of room and worked really well for a larger group due to open plan living space upstairs in the cottage (with a great view!). Highly recommend!

  • great host , very considering and kind. awesome place , next to the lake , kayak and canoe available . calm and prime place . strongly recommended

  • Had a wonderful stay at Warren’s cottage! Check in was very easy. Kitchen was full of pots, pans, plates, cups and cutlery. Large dining table inside and out! Swimming isn’t the greatest due to weeds and large drop off but the fishing off the dock was incredible; perch, small mouth bass, pike and catfish at night. We were about 3 minutes away from the Callaghan Rapids and that was such a fun time exploring. Kayak, canoe and hammock are some of the activities provided! Communication before and during the stay was quick and helpful and cottage was very clean. We had a blast, thanks again Warren!

    Ashley2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Warren was an incredible host and the cottage was beautiful. We started saying we wanted to come back every year!

    Sabrina2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous stay!! Our family had the pleasure of staying at Warren's beautiful lakefront cottage this past week. Stunning view right on the water and so peaceful. The cottage itself is very spacious, clean and decorated so lovely. You will certainly feel very comfortable staying here. This part of the lake is very quiet and an almost secluded feel to it, great for exploring by kayak. The dock was our happy place.....sunbathing, reading, jumping/diving (15ft off of the dock) and some great fishing enjoyed by all. As well as a lovely green space for badminton matches, horseshoes and some spikeball. Evenings were spent by the fire (s'mores and wieners) along with cards/board games up on the deck. The cottage is a very short drive into Marmora where you will find everything you need. Oh and you must go to The Ranch Restaurant for a meal and most importantly ice cream. Their sizing is HUGE (get it in a cup with lid to go, you will not finish it) and it's under $3.00. Other places to check out around town are the rapids and the incredible Marmora Mine that's been filled in with water (turquoise in colour).....stunning! Finally, communication with Warren was outstanding. He's there to help you in an instant with anything.....very friendly and flexible. Thank you so much Warren and Sarah for sharing your little piece of heaven.....our family will definitely be back. We had the BEST time!!

    Sarah2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I loved our stay at this Lakeside cottage. Lots of private space, friendly neighbours, and great small beach with a spacious dock. The cottage was sparkling clean and had everything we needed. There are rapids nearby that can be travelled to by kayak/pedal boat and well worth going. Marmora mine is also a great stop nearby. Warren was very accommodating, helpful and easy to reach. We would definitely come back!

Vintage little trailer on a secluded 400 acre property. Great place to get away and reconnect with nature. Watch the stars and explore our property on a nature walk on our trails. Visit the open air farm and see the pigs, chickens, ducks and turkeys. Swimming areas with rapids, waterfall and pools close by. Fishing is but a short drive to the river. This Classic trailer will sleep 3 adults and one child on the top bunk. Make a fire and roast some marshmallows and wienies. RECONNECT
  • Exactly what we expected from the listing. Robert thought of all the things we might need for our weekend away. The area is beautiful and the trailer is very private.

    Julie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were travelling in our RV and made a last-minute reservation after deciding we wanted a bit more camping space than local options. We loved the huge campsite and surrounding land, and our dogs had a great time going for walks and playing at the campsite.

    Lara2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The trailer was great as always! Read my last review for details.

    Alex2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • As expected, this quaint place is affordable and Robert quickly responded to our questions and needs. The beds were good, but being 6’ they were a bit short, but I am not complaining!

  • We are tent campers and for us having a trailer was a step up. It was a great set up, easy to find and literally had everything we needed!! Would definitely go back if we want to explore more in the area! Robert was super easy to communicate with and helpful.

    Onneka2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to hang out and have a campfire with friends! We came here to hang out at the local falls during the day and have a fire and hang out at night. Robert replied quickly and gave thorough instructions on how to get to and use the site. He also accommodated us when we made extra requests. The site was as pictured, including the bug tent, picnic table, chairs, barbeque, etc. The trailer was very clean with fresh sheets on the bed. There were plenty of supplies in the trailer: lamps, plates, cutlery, cards, first aid kit, towels, directions. I would only recommend that you check the weather and bring extra blankets if it is supposed to get cold at night. The area wasn't too buggy but we went in August so I didn't expect them to be bad. Robert also left drinking water at the site for us and there are recycling and garbage bins there for you to use. Robert only asked that we take our garbage from the site when we left. The site was very private, we only had a couple cars drive by while we were there and could only faintly hear people staying down the road late at night.

    Alex2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Robert was very informative and helpful. The spot had more stuff than what we expected. It was such a great time! Highly recommended

Beautiful 4 Bedroom cottage on Crowe lake (2 hour drive from Toronto) usually used by our family but available when we're out of town. Great for family and friends gathering for a weekdays, weekend or a full week. It has a small shared cove with our own dock. Jump right into the lake from the shoreline that is your backyard! Great fishing on the lake (small & large mouth bass, pike, pickerel, perch, sunfish, muskee). Extremely friendly and welcoming neighbours in a quaint neighbourhood.
A simple and elegant lake house on a small crystal clear fresh water lake. - Great fishing on the lake (small & large mouth bass, pike, pickerel, perch, sunfish, muskee) - Parking for at least 5 cars (can arrange for more if needed) - Neighbouring a park with a boat launch (extra fees charged by the park) - Crowe lake is known for its crystal clear water and quaint lifestyle. It is not part of a major system like the Trentway. There will still be some power boats but it is quiet compared to the big lakes. - The street is quiet and home to many full time residents
Consider visiting the following attractions (by car) nearby: - Booster Park, a private camping & trailer park grounds with boat launch (next door) - Tennis courts & Public Park in Marmora (5m drive) - The Locks @ Healey Falls (30m drive) - The Mighty Marmoraton Mine (10m drive) - Callaghan's Rapids (10m drive) - Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge (30m drive) Grocery store, Liquor store (LCBO) and Beer store are all available in the "downtown" of Marmora which is a 5m drive. There are cute diners and dives along with some family-owned international restaurants (indian, chinese, etc) within a 15 to 20 minute driving radius.
  • Great place

    Cynthiya2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nizar`s place was beautiful and pictures don't do justice to how amazing the whole experience was. My only regret is that we checked in very late on the day of arrival and wished we had been there earlier. Nizar was kind enough to give us late checkout until 11.30am even when he had another reservation coming in later that day. We will definitely visit this place again if available on our future outings.

    Omkar2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was way better than expected. The living room, kitchen and patio are all nicely connected making a very roomy place to hang out. Also, the patio faces the water during the evening sunset.

    Darren2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem of a place. Everything is as described in the listing. The cottage is sparkling clean and very well decorated. You can feel that owners take great care of their property. The lake water is very clean and perfect for swimming. The paddle boat, kayaks and water toys were available for use and we made great use of them. Everything you would need for cooking is available in the kitchen. The neighbours are also super friendly and we had a great time chatting with them. Grocery stores and other amenities are only a 5 minutes drive away. We would love to come back here and definitely recommend this place to others as well. Nizar is also great with communication and check-in was a breeze.

    Hamza2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place , has all you need , stunning deck with beautiful view. Water was very warm and plenty of fish for fishing. We will definitely try to book again.

  • Nizar and Leila’s place truly is a home. When my friends and I entered we felt very welcomed by the home itself. Their home is neat, organized, and very clean. The sunroom was our favourite spot of the house. The view, breeze, and sound of the water was very soothing. There was lots of shade by the water (thank you trees) making it a great spot to lie down (and take a nap), or have a mini-picnic. We had no issues with the water activities/equipment as well. They have a binder - actually two of them - with specific and detailed instructions which we loved. It made finding things easy and we got to enjoy the amenities. They were also very quick to respond to our questions, and made sure we had the check-in information the day before. Thank you for letting us into your home and enjoy your space!

    Tsedey2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nizar was one of the best hosts I had. He responded quickly to all my questions and provided useful tips and suggestions prior to staying. The place is simply spectacular. It actually looks a lot more beautiful than the photos; the backyard has a spectacular view of the lakefront, a perfect firepit and a private dock with all the equipment you need for summer activities. The house has clean, spacious rooms with everything for both short and long getaway trips. We visited as a group of five and enjoyed the stay at Nizar's enjoying swimming, driving a paddle boat, playing basketball, going for a morning run, lounging in the sunroom, having barbeque dinner and munching s'more while sitting around the fire at night. It also was a perfect place for star gazing. We greatly appreciated your care and attention to making the place perfect for our perfect weekend. Thank you so much!

    Andrea S.2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • One word to describe Nizar’s home, INCREDIBLE!!! The place is super clean with everything you can possibly ask for. The view is fantastic to watch the sun rise, or sun set. Cannot ask for a better place to host our trip. This place has it all!!! Will definitely be booking a future trip. Fishing was great!!!

  • This place was fantastic! The view of the lake from the master bedroom was awesome and the fireplace was lit and warm for us when we arrived (along with a welcome bottle of wine and beer). The kitchen was well stocked, and the decor was amazing! Great location! Shannon was very easy to communicate with and very friendly. Her neighbours were also great and we shared some laughs out on the ice and they brought us some moose chili for dinner. We had an awesome time! Would love to visit again!

  • My family and I stayed here for three days over the Christmas holidays and we loved it! It was the perfect winter cottage experience. The wood fire was enjoyed by all! The space is very clean and organized. It felt safe and cozy. Shannon was an excellent host and always responded quickly. The lake was frozen over (because we stayed in December), but the view was still breathtaking and relaxing. I would absolutely return for another stay and recommend this space to others as well!

We spent a lot of our time on the deck and patio - so well decorated and the sunsets from the cottage were just beautiful. Shannon was such a great host, she was very quick to respond to any messages and we had full privacy. Check in and check out was super easy and convenient for us. Thank you Shannon for hosting us again and we will definitely be revisiting.

Perfect mid-week getaway is available if you are looking to get out of the city or town and in to the country. Our cottage is perfect for a small family, or for two couples. We are located on Hwy #7 between Havelock and Marmora, about 2 hours from downtown Toronto. We are on the Crowe River at Rylstone Lake, which is a slow moving, lightly inhabited body of water that is contained on both ends and limits traffic on the lake. There is great swimming from the dock!
This is our home on the weekends and as a result, our cottage is pretty well appointed. The main floor has a fully stocked kitchen, bathroom with shower & tub, a generous dining room, kitchen, living room with a gas fireplace, a laundry room, and a large master bedroom with queen sized bed. On the second level there is another master bedroom with another queen sized bed and a sitting area with a futon. You can see our massive three level deck outside with net-enclosed sitting area. The barbecue is on the second level of the deck. Two kayaks and a canoe are provided. There is also a fire pit and fire wood provided. This waterfront cottage is situated on the waters edge on a weed-free shoreline that is perfect for swimming, especially off the dock or kayaking / canoeing down the long lake. The swimming is the highlight for us, and the small lake in our area about 6 to 15 feet deep. If you Google Callaghan's Rapids marmora, on, that is a 5 min kayak trip from our dock, and it is an amazing place to hang-out. Beyond swimming and kayaking, there is excellent hiking and biking trails nearby to take advantage of. We are situated next to a large conservation area and there are a large number of bird species for bird watchers and great fishing for muskie, bass, pickerel, and pike. There is outdoor parking for 3 cars on the property. You will have access to the whole property except the garage, You can have access to the bunky attached to the garage only if you need access to the workspace (desk, monitor, internet). This is our cottage that we live in on the weekends so it is lived in fully set up space. There is one indoor bathroom and a very clean fresh outhouse behind the house with a toilet only.
Very isolated, very quiet. There can be spotty internet and cellular service. Cambellford is the closest city, but Marmora and Havelock both have groceries stores, beer and liquor stores. Nearby attractions include Petroglyphs Provincial Park (Indian rock carvings called petroglyphs & hiking trails 5 km, 7 km & 16 km treks for exploring the area's natural environment), Golf Courses (Marvel Rapids,Oakland Greens Golf, Bellmere Winds Golf Course and more), Historical Cordova Lake Falls, Reptile Zoo, Warsaw Caves, Marmora Mines, and Antique Shops along highway #7. Chocolate factory in Campbellford. While we don't provide bikes or ATVs, there are great trails nearby also nearby horseback riding, in the winter, dog sledding, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Check out the Eastern Ontario Trails Alliance website for more information and maps. Visit the conservation area and watch out for birds and animals such as Turtle, Grouse, Wild Turkey, Blue Heron, Barred Owl, Flying Squirrel and Deer. We hear and see loons very very frequently!

This is a rural retreat, recently renovated with a gorgeous kitchen—plenty of cupboards, a dishwasher, and a gas range. This farmhouse was built by Scottish settlers in the mid-nineteenth century and has the two-foot thick walls to prove it. Two Jotul stoves—one in the main living area and one in the master bedroom make the house super cosy in the winter but if you don't feel like stoking the fires, the house has a new radiant heat system.
The house sits on a hundred acres of fields and forest to explore. There is lots to explore off the property, too. The villages of Stirling, Madoc, and Tweed are all about fifteen minutes by car. I am a writer who travels for work and pleasure. The Farmhouse is my base when in Canada. I like visual art and reading and these tastes are reflected in the decor of the farmhouse.
This is a rural area with some great destinations. Here are a few: - The Buff Stuff Store is on a farm on HWY 14: there you can find Water Buffalo meat and cheese, as well as, gelato, milk, pastries, soap. - The Apple Store on HWY 14 is a fun stop for ice cream, gifts, and kitchen supplies. - Stirling is a sweet village with several antique shops and a cafe. - Madoc is home to The Hidden Goldmine Restaurant, as well as, several charity and vintage shops.
  • The farmhouse gave us an opportunity to relax in a truly quiet and scenic area with all the creature comforts. The house was well equipped and beautifully decorated. Kathryn was quick to respond to any questions , it was such a privilege to stay at Kathryn’s home.

A very clean and thoughtfully designed place for family getaways. Within minutes of stepping into Laurie's place, we started talking about coming back in the summer. Thank you Laurie for hosting us.

  • My family loved our week at Laurie's cottage on the lake. We lived on the two decks and the dock. The adults and the children loved the kayaks and paddle boards. It's on a quiet lake with quiet, friendly neighbors. We all want to go back for another week next summer!

    Brubaker2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cottage situated on beautiful Lake Moira. The cottage is very spacious and easily accommodated our three families. We enjoyed the two tiered deck, fires by the water, swimming off the dock. While the waterfront doesn’t offer a walk-in area for children, our young children were able to adapt quickly to swimming off the dock and as a result now are comfortable swimming in deeper water. (There is also a wade in swimming area nearby). The cottage has everything and more you would want for a great experience. We really appreciated the use of the water toys & life jackets. The town also is a quick 4 min drive away and features a great park/splash pad for kids. As a host, Laurie was quick to reply to any questions we had. Thanks for a memorable week.
