Delightful country barn set in a quiet lane in the heart of the beautiful Hampshire village of Broughton. Vaulted ceiling living area for relaxing and dining complete with internet, smart TV (Netflix etc.) and desk. Well-equipped with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, hob, microwave. Situated between the historic cities of Salisbury and Winchester and ideal for walkers with the Clarendon Way passing behind the property. Quiet location with small enclosed garden courtyard.
The Barn is a detached quiet annex suitable for overnight, weekend or longer breaks. Its location is ideal for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat to relax or work with all modern amenities. We are also well positioned for those wishing to take in a little fly fishing on the River Test.
Broughton is conveniently situated midway between the historic cities of Salisbury and Winchester which are connected via the Clarendon Way long distance footpath. The footpath itself passes behind our property and provides a useful halfway stop-off point for weary travellers! Broughton is within easy reach of Stonehenge, Old Sarum and other ancient monument sites. It is only a few minutes drive from Mottisfont; a delightful National Trust property and, for those with very young children, Peppa Pig World is also within easy reach. Despite its easy connection to these places, Broughton itself is off the beaten track nestling under a beautiful local nature reserve, Broughton Down, which overlooks the village giving wonderful views across our Hampshire countryside. The village itself has a well-stocked shop and post office, an 11th century church and two popular and complimentary pubs; one very traditional serving excellent beers and food and the other specialising unusually in Thai cuisine.
  • I would really recommend a stay at Fiona and Graham’s place. The photos don’t do it justice and everything was perfect. Very accommodating hosts and a beautiful, clean, spacious barn with everything you could need and more, in a lovely setting.

    Florence2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona and Graham’s barn was absolutely lovely, even nicer than the pictures. Graham met us on check in and everything down to milk in the fridge was thought of! There’s a nice community shop and the tally ho pub just a few minutes walk away which was great! My partners a wheelchair user and accessibility was also great in the barn, all step free, normal and fold down grab rails in the bathroom and plenty of space - we look forward to coming back

    Charlotte2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Second time here and just as good as we remembered. Clean, warm and homely. We had not planned on Storm Dennis playing havoc with the weather and our host came to the rescue with torch and camp stove when we lost power so we could at least have hot tea and soup. They could not have done more to try and help! The skylights let in so much natural light we didn't miss the electricity and the Barn is so well equipped we never got bored - we played Scrabble and cards and built Lego models. This really is a beautiful place to relax and unwind! Thank you again Graham and Fiona for being fantastic hosts!!!

    Michael2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay, just what we wanted. The barn was spotless and we were greeted on arrival and shown everything we needed to know. Highly recommended.

  • Lovely place will definitely be staying again.

    Rebecca2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona and Graham’s place was absolutely lovely. Pure bliss and relaxation for a quiet night away. Lots of fantastic places to explore locally, and great advice from Graham regarding local pubs. Lovely place to stay, very clean, cosy and stylish. Lovely modern kitchen and bathroom, with a comfy bed. Would highly recommend!

    Olivia2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a short relaxing break and we got a wonderful time. The place is beautiful, spacious, cosy, and perfectly clean. The country and the village are lovely, and the area very quiet, with nice weather it must be very nice to take a walk through nature. We went for a lunch at the Tally Ho, a very cosy country pub in the village, which we highly reccommend. Fiona and Graham were very nice hosts, five stars!

    Gregorio2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Fiona & Graham for the perfect getaway. The barn is even better than it looks - really a fantastic place to stay, everything you need, lots of thoughtful touches, friendly and accommodating hosts, peace and quiet, nice location, could go on like this for ages and I can't recommend it enough!

  • I don’t think the pictures or description do full justice to this wonderful cottage. It was perfect for our needs (family of 4 with two children under 8 years old), and the fun board games and ample supply of firewood was an unexpected bonus. With older children, you might find dining together quite snug, but for us this wasn’t a problem. The bathroom downstairs (and in fact, the whole cottage) was meticulously clean, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable.

  • We had a great stay over Christmas, everything was absolutely perfect, we especially loved the owls calling each other and opening the curtains on a couple of roe deer staring in at you in the morning. Beautiful cottage, beautiful location. Thanks

  • We had a fab stay at the lodge. It was perfect for the 4 of us. We chose it as a half way point between Devon & London to host a family Christmas get together. All amenities were as described, we cooked a full roast and everything we needed was there! The beds were super comfy. Fantastic lounge with open fire. The bathroom was decadent and functional. Overall very impressed, it was the cosy cottage in the countryside we were hoping for. Private parking and totally left to be self sufficient with great instructions on how everything worked. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Guests are more than welcome to use the lounge area as well as the kitchen. In the summer we’re more than happy for them to make themselves at home in the garden as well. We really like people to feel welcome, comfortable and at ease. If there is anything that they would like to do or ask, we would welcome requests or enquires and would accommodate it to the best of our ability. We also have a beautiful dog.
Laundry Cottage was built in the early 1600’s and the newer part of the house attached to the cottage used to be outside Laundries that did the surrounding Manor House and cottages, laundry. This part was attached to the cottage in the 1800’s. Winchester is the first Capital of England and a wonderfully historic city boasting a beautiful Cathedral and historical ruins and buildings. We have the most fabulous coffee shops and restaurants in Winchester. There are wonderful scenic walks in and around Winchester as well. There is also a charming small cinema in town. We are a five minute walk from a wonderful Farm Stall that serves great food and coffees, called the Good Life as well a great pub five minutes walk from us called the Cart and Horses. Our guests get a 10% discount when they eat there.
  • I honestly don't know where to start. "A home away from home" would be an understatement. Even before I arrived at the beautiful house (which alone is worth a stay), the communication with Marlene was fantastic and I felt welcome before I even got there. Marlene, Kevin and their entire family are most wonderful and kind and just incredible hosts that will make you feel part of the family but also give you your space if you so desire. The house is utterly gorgeous, cozy and there is so much attention to detail and lots of nice touches. I will visit Winchester again for sure, but mainly for this very deserved Superhost! Some info on getting to Winchester town center: you can walk (about 30 minutes), drive (5-8 minutes) or take the bus (11 minutes). The bus stop is right in front of the house!

    Annika2020-01-19T00:00:00Z

  • Thus beautiful little cottage was very well appointed with really clever use of small spaces. Plenty storage, a very comfortable bed and special touches from the hosts eg milk in the fridge and chocolate biscuits. The hosts were very friendly and there to help in any way they could. Highly recommend a stay here.

  • Annette’s cottage was even lovelier than expected. Such a great area for walking and exploring (full of thatched cottages and plenty of lovely pubs in the area - we went to the Poplar farm and The Mayfly!). The cottage itself was spotless, very cosy and had lots of lovely touches; perfect for the two of us. It was also well equipped for making dinner in the cottage on the 2nd night. Had everything we needed and Annette was on hand should we have needed anything else. Would happily stay here again and recommend to anybody looking for a relaxing countryside stay!

  • My partner and I really enjoyed our weekend stay at the cottage. Annette was a great host and very welcoming. We enjoyed eggs from the chickens and also met her two little dogs. The cottage was sparkling clean and Annette had thought of everything for a self catering stay. We slept well as the area is very quiet and the bed was 5 star comfort. An all round pleasant, cosy place to stay with no complaints. Highly recommend and we will be returning!

    Jessica2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here over the Christmas Holiday. This is a very nice, clean, and efficient little cottage that was made most warm and welcoming by our host. Annette was friendly and helpful, and had even put up seasonal decorations, which was one of many nice personal touches! We had everything we needed.

  • Wonderful spacious house and in a great position for exploring Stockbridge and the surrounding area.

    Sarah2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely home right in Stockbridge. Very comfortable beds & sofa bed upstairs. My daughter said it was the best sofa bed she has ever slept on. Loads of useful things in the property like hairdryers, toiletries, tassimo machine in the kitchen, a vase, just lots of bits & bobs that make it feel homely. Julie is a great host, very welcoming and showed us where everything was. She was very relaxed and made us feel very at home. She was also great to communicate with and got back to me straight away with any queries. Would definitely recommend, this was a lovely place to stay while at a family wedding a few miles away.

    Rebecca2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing venue, upstairs space is very open and makes for a great atmosphere.

    Joe2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This house is amazing! Julie is a kind host an helped us with everything we needed. The house is best equipped for feeling at home. It’s cosy an full of light. My daughters want me to mention the wonderful thick towels :-) We made nice day trips from the spot: to Stonehenge (20 min.), Salisbury (Same) and Oxford (1 hour). The Hampshire surrounding was surprising for us, full of flowers, fields and butterflies. Not boring at all, full of wonderful spaces and views. It was relaxing to come „home“. Besides we enjoyed the Indian food from „purbani“ as a take-away - Hause a nicer place to sit than the table upstairs is hard to find. Thanks Julie and family!

  • Just came back from a superb 2 night stay here with our 4 yr old and 6 month old children. We picked this place for its easy location to Peppa Pig world, and it really was an easy short drive! Leigh is a great host, little touches around the place like breakfast, milk, butter and croissants ready for when you arrive. She also popped up a travel cot and highchair for us so we had some room saved in the boot of the car for the rest of our belongings. Lord knows when you travel with children you basically bring your whole house bar the kitchen sink so this was a blessing. We popped to a local Aldi to grab some more supplies for our stay as found the local pubs abit over our budget. The kitchen in the annex has a travel hob and microwave so you can cook up a storm without the need for an oven. Perfect for us. Beds are super soft which I loved but not for all. Water comes out of the taps really really hot. Just something to be mindful of if your little ones like to try and wash their hands themselves. We highly recommend this place for a cosy, easy night away with easy location to Paultons Park. Wel be back ! Thanks again Leigh - all the best x the Bonds

  • Very nice accommodation. Everything is thought of to make you feel good. Lots of little touches awaited us in the kitchen. It was clean and big + for those with children, there were plenty of toys and books for working English. It is ideally located for visiting Winchester, Salisbury, Southampton and the New Forest. We recommend.

  • Leigh’s place is a great spot for a couple of days away near to the New Forest with a family. There was everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The annex was very clean. Our girls really enjoyed the basketful of toys and books. The beds were comfy and we all slept well. The little kitchen had just what we needed for making dinner and breakfast and the fresh eggs were delicious! Thanks so much for a very easy stay!

  • If your looking for somewhere to stay near to Peppa Pig world this is the perfect place. We stayed with our two daughters and the little touches for those with children was great! We felt safe with the gated access and the annex was clean and equip with everything you could need. We went to the local pub and the food was excellent.

  • Leigh was super helpful and offered lots of insights to local area as well as being very attentive after I asked for her to look at a window we couldn’t lock. It was a beautiful rural setting and the annexe was quiet, clean and very nicely appointed with thoughtful little touches like a few kids books and toys that my daughter loved and some milk, eggs, bread and some chocolates. Despite Leigh being very much on hand if we needed, she was incredibly discreet and we had loads of privacy. Great stay in a lovely area.

Self contained annex - uniquely located on the Clarendon Way, the ancient Pilgrims route between the iconic cathedrals towns of Winchester and Salisbury.
Blacklake Barn is a delightful self contained annex with two bedrooms, a sitting room, shower room, and kitchen and breakfast area. Wonderfully light and spacious, the barn has original exposed beams and a rustic feel. For colder months, there is a very efficient wood burner in the sitting room as well as central heating in all of the rooms. The kitchen is fully equipped so self catering is an option. English breakfast ingredients such as bacon and eggs (all locally sourced) can also be provided (at cost) for guests to cook for themselves and cereal, bread, butter and jam and honey. Please let your host know your requirements on booking. There are two bedrooms, one double with a super king size bed and one single with a single bed and a mattress is also available. Please note this property is not suitable for children under 4.
We are located very close to the River Test, famed for its world class crystal clear waters and excellent fly fishing. Stockbridge with its excellent shops, restaurants and pubs is only 3 miles away. Stonehenge, the cathedral towns of Winchester and Salisbury are all within half an hour of the Barn.
  • We had a fabulous week staying here. The cottage was great for the 3 of us and our dog. It’s situated perfectly for long walks, mountain biking or just relaxing. An easy walk to the Boot inn for Sunday lunch and close to other great places to visit. The garden was secure so there was no worry that our dog would escape, in fact he had a great time playing with Ingrid and Charles little dog. The house is well kitted out and we were easily able to prepare meals and even wash clothes after a long muddy walk. The wood burner is an added bonus on a dark cold evening. We would happily return here.

  • We enjoyed a very relaxing, peaceful break over a long weekend. The garden is much bigger than expected and secure for our two little dogs to roam at leisure, and play with the owner’s dog, Poppy. There is also parking onsite immediately next to the property, so it was very easy to unload and reload the car. The kitchen is very well equipped, we hope to come back one day and make use of the cheese fondue kit! WiFi fast and reliable. I know some other people had commented that it was hard to find - but we found Ingrid’s directions to be very detailed and we had no issue finding the property. Thank you Charles and Ingrid for a wonderful stay. Best Sarah and Geoff (+ Russell and Tilly 🐶)

To say that they are friendly and welcoming would be an understatement, they couldn’t do more for me. The room is sparkling clean and you have full use of your own bathroom and shared kitchen. Highly recommended to anyone! Thank you both.

Our house is a pretty Victorian terrace, situated in Hyde. It is well located for visiting the town centre and many of the beautiful landmarks of Winchester. The city centre is within easy walking distance, 10 - 15 minutes, with the train station a 5 minute walk. A great stop for cyclists and walkers, there is no garage but bike's may be left inside the house overnight. There are several pubs within a stone's throw and a large number of restaurants and coffee bars all within walking distance.
Bedroom 2 is a comfortable single room beautifully decorated, overlooking the pretty courtyard garden and St.Bartholomew's church. Bedroom 2 is only available on the same booking as bedroom 1 (i.e for one family or group).
The area of Hyde is historically rich and has become a place name synonymous with King Alfred the Great, whose bones were moved to Hyde Abbey in 1110. Winnall Moors Nature Reserve is very close by and on walking through it seems difficult to believe you are right next to the centre of town!

  • I had a lovely stay with my hosts, Henny and her mother, and couldn't have been made more welcome. The accommodation was clean and warm, and provided everything I needed, and the bed was very comfortable, so I slept very well too. It is about 5 minutes walk to the centre of Winchester, and not much further to the station so very well located. I look forward to staying there again when I'm in Winchester. I would thoroughly recommend it to others.

Beautifully converted barn on working family farm on the Hampshire/Wiltshire border. The property is attached to the farm house but has its own entrance, patio and garden. Children are free to play on our play equipment in the farm yard. Beautiful views of the church from the front of the property. Located in a small, tranquil village. Short walk to train station, with trains to Romsey & Salisbury every hour. Many walks in surrounding area, including Bentley Wood.
The property is open plan downstairs, with sofas, a dining table and kitchen. There is a utility room, and down stairs loo. Upstairs there are two bedroom. One is set up as a double and the other has two single beds. Both bedrooms have en-suites. The house has underfloor heating, and a small log burner. The glass doors open up on to the south facing patio, perfect for a summers evening. There is a locked shed available for bike storage.
We are in the middle of a small, tranquil village. There is a train station a two minute walk away, with direct trains to Romsey & Salisbury. There are walks from the property to Bentley Wood. We are on the national cycle route 24. 12 miles from the famous Paultons Park- home of Peppa Pig World, 7 miles from Romsey & 9 miles from Salisbury. Stonehenge is only a 40 min drive away. Beautiful country side scenery. No street lights, so star gazing on a clear night is a must!
  • We were only there for a few days, but they were super nice. We were welcomed in a friendly manner and our hostess was usually at home to ask questions or to discuss things. The children were super net and our two were allowed to use the children's toys like trampoline. Everything in the apartment was clean and things like soap, washing-up liquid or eggs were also freely available. The area is very rural and we thought it was great. There were chickens in the yard and nearby there were horses that you could pet. This is great for small children. Just a few minutes away is a small hiking trail with a river. Totally beautiful and our children loved it. We were there with a dog and the area was also suitable for this. There is a bus and train connection, even if we didn't use both. The next bigger city is 15 minutes away and you can go shopping there. We will probably go there again. True really excited.

  • The barn was beautiful and in a perfect location. Very thoughtful touch leaving us eggs, milk and chocolate. Very easy check in, immaculate and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. We all had a lovely stay. Thank you :)

  • A great barn conversion - well equipped and with a nice “feel”. Great value.

    Rob2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely barn conversion, Hayley was a fab host and left us some fresh eggs (I couldn’t use these though as I’m pregnant), some milk in the fridge and a lovely banner up for my daughter whose birthday it was. A great base for us to travel to peppa pig world, which is about a 20 minute drive.

    Katie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful barn with lovely features and everything you’d need inside. It was lovely that our children could play outside with Hayley’s children who were happy to share their trampoline etc! We had a lovely stay. Thank you!

    Helen2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely recommend staying at Hayley’s place. It was a beautiful, clean and warm barn in a picturesque location! Hayley made some thoughtful touches to our stay too and made us very welcome.

Cosy designer chic. This beautiful cottage is situated on a private country estate consisting of 7.5 acres. You will have sole use of the cottage and private hot-tub during your stay. The cottage is perfect in both summer (with its large sunny decking, array of garden furniture and huge garden) and winter (with the wood burning stove and hot tub). 400 (and upwards) thread count bedding, top quality towels (two per person) and all the comforts you can hope for!
Extra-comfy luxury mattresses and lounge seating. The option of feather or microfibre bedding. The two large beds are super-king size for extra comfort. Bedding is very high quality for extra luxury. Each person staying will have the use of 2 bathroom towels plus a separate extra-large hot tub towel. The hot tub will be ready for you to use, there is no extra charge for the hot tub. Logs, kindling and matches all supplied at no extra cost so you can have the wood burning stove on when you please. Welcome package consisting of tea, coffee, milk, sugar, croissants, butter and jam provided for your first morning’s breakfast. We also provide a bread maker and a pack of bread mix, so if you want to come home to freshly baked bread after a day of exploring that will be easy for you to achieve! There’s also a dishwasher so you won’t need to stand at the sink washing up for ages! Please note the cottage only has one bathroom (it is large and luxury - with an extra-large double-ended 2-person bath and large walk in shower, a WC and a sink). We are aware it would be better if there was more than one bathroom but we have priced the cottage accordingly. Outside furniture includes: • rattan furniture that can seat up to 8 people; • two swivel egg chairs. Lovely to curl up in to read a book or just soak up the lovely countryside; and • table and 6 chairs for dining outside. Please note that the property is fairly near a main road. It isn’t “on” a main road, it’s down a private lane, but it’s near the main road in terms of road-noise. The double glazed doors and windows in the cottage mean you can’t hear the road noise when you’re inside the cottage. However, there is some road noise whilst sat in the garden. Guests are encouraged to bring portable speakers with them if they’d like to play music whilst in the garden/hot tub. ** From 1 June onwards any stays including a Saturday night must be for a minimum of two nights. One-night stays remain available mid-week**
The cottage is in the grounds of a beautiful old rectory built in the early 1800’s. Guests are encouraged to bring their wellies to explore the grounds! The rectory was paired with St Michaels & All Angels church, parts of which pre-date the 1200’s - it’s a beautiful church well worth a visit! There are many opportunities for keen fishermen, in Bullington itself and in the surrounding area (particularly Stockbridge!). The closest pub is the Coach and Horses. This is a popular pub with locals and serves good hearty meals. This is a one-mile walk from the cottage. For grocery essentials there is Dever Stores in the town of Sutton Scotney (one-mile away) - they have a selection of freshly baked produce which is delicious! There is also the Texaco petrol station which is half a mile away. The Swan Inn in Barton Stacey (approx 3 miles away) is well worth a visit, it has low beamed ceilings and a roaring fire in the winter. Stockbridge is one of our favourite places to visit. It has streams full of trout, beautiful water meadows which you can walk in (you’ll often find cows in there!), a lovely tea room, a wonderful butcher, a wine store, and fantastic eateries - The Greyhound is a pricey but beautiful gastropub - the food is delicious here! There is also the Mayfly, which is priced more reasonably (and wonderful on a sunny day with it’s huge pub garden!). The Bombay Sapphire Distillery is less than 4 miles away (13 minutes’ drive). They offer tours and a cocktail making experience ... a fantastic day out! Winchester is a 15 minute drive away (10 miles). This beautiful city was built in 70AD. The cathedral is phenomenal and currently has a National Lottery Heritage Funded exhibition “Kings and Scribes: The Birth of a Nation”, which explores 1,000 years of history and reveals some of the Cathedral’s greatest treasures. The city centre has a wealth of excellent restaurants, pubs, cafes and a lovely shopping centre. The Cathedral’s Christmas market has over 100 chalets to visit and is open 21 November - 22 December. The Wonston Arms (CAMRA awarded it Pub of The Year in 2018) is just two miles away. This pub dates back to the early 1800’s. Pro Driver Training in Tangley offer 4x4 driving experiences! (27 miles away). Peppa Pig World is a 30 minute drive away (26 miles) - fantastic fun for little ones and their parents! Alresford is a 20 minute drive away (16 miles). This beautiful, quaint small town is famous for growing Watercress. Here you can get on a steam train (on the Watercress Line). There are four lovely tea rooms and several great pubs. My favourite is The Globe, they have a wonderful garden looking out onto water meadows -stunning on a summers’ day! The inside of the pub is really lovely, with lots of beams and comfy furniture for those days when the weather isn’t so good! The New Forest is just 40 minutes away, you’ll find so many beautiful places for long walks and cosy pub meals in the area. You’re just over an hour’s drive from the beautiful sandy beaches of Poole and the various Chine beaches - we love a trip down there on a sunny day!
  • Rachel has thought of everything here. Just as you think of something you need, it’s right there! Extra towels for the hot tub, games, welcome basket with goodies.... I thoroughly recommend this property for any type of group. Best air bnb I’ve experienced.

The en suite bathrooms are large, light and airy and the showers very powerful! She is very warm and welcoming and bangs out an amazing breakfast!

  • Spotless B & B with a charming host in a beautiful location. What more could you wish for!

    Michele2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Honestly I never stayed here personally, I booked it for my sister and two dogs... Firstly the entrance to the B&B was beautiful, draping tree and off street parking. The house is a lovely extended double height cottage, beautifully decorated... ample space is allocated for your stay, the rooms, are vastly more stylish and homely than a hotel. I had booked a hotel that night, after seeing this B&B I was disappointed in my hotel in comparison, especially I had paid more for the standard almost clinical hotel room. Karin gave a warm welcome, even though I was running late, my two Border colliers were made welcome and I was directed to welcome and peaceful walking areas for them. Breakfast was intimate and personal. I have nothing more to say than, this has to be one of the best places for the value and cost within the local to Wiltshire area... Don’t hesitate, this is where you should stay!!! Also I don’t tend to leave reviews “Only 4 ever, across all platforms” it must prompt me to have to say some thing, as it has to be more than expected... Karin, Thank you! Mr Winning

Gorgeous coach house that sleeps 4
Lovely open barn just a few miles drive from Stockbridge and on the edge of a gorgeous test valley village.
We are in the village of Broughton which is a lovely test valley village with 2 pubs and community shop and right on the Clarendon way so masses of beautiful walks.
  • We've just had a wonderful 4 days in the coach house. Such a beautiful space with everything you could need. Beautifully decorated and in such a lovely part of the country. Amazing walks on the doorstep which our two sproodles loved! There were two pubs in the village and a lovely little community shop run by volunteers for all your essentials and some local produce. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to return! Thanks Caroline and Mike for being great hosts!

    Natalie2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • The coach house is a perfect home from home. Spotlessly clean, everything you need and two wonderful hosts in Mike and Caroline. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

  • I have just returned after a short break at the Coach House, which I used as a base for fishing expeditions within the Test valley. A great experience from start to finish, from an easy check in, great facilities in the grounds of beautiful house, set within a lovely Hampshire village, the Coach House is a gem. Caroline is a great host, with quick and concise communication. I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this wonderful home from home.

  • We had a fantastic stay at the Coach House - it had everything we needed (including a dog bed which our dog loved!). Caroline was a great host - the place was sparkling clean, luxuriously furnished and very comfortable for adults and children. Highly recommended.

  • Warm, clean, comfortable and beautifully equipped, a home from home - thank you.

  • Beautiful little getaway for any occasion. We stayed for Christmas and it was perfect. Caroline and family went out of their way to make the stay perfect. A beautiful basket of goodies left even for our little dog too. Contact with host was 100% and all amenities great. Spotless and very cosy we will definitely be staying again

  • Wonderful stay in a beautiful house. Great pub just a couple of hundred meters up the road for dinner and a superb breakfast provided in the room. All round top host!

  • The Old School House is a beautiful house in a beautiful village in North Hampshire. The welcome we received from Sophie was warm and the explanation of the facilities thorough. The guest accommodation is charming and comfortable and fully met our expectations. There were also some nice additional touches such as a fruit bowl in both bedrooms. My friend and I had a delightful 2 night stay and I would have no hesitation recommending The Old School House to future potential guests. Thank you Sophie.

    David2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great information provided to help our stay go smoothly. Sophie welcomed us warmly to the accommodation. The beds were very comfortable and we were provided with everything we needed for breakfast. An enjoyable stay.

    Elinor2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • My mum and nan had a lovely time, and a very comfortable stay at Sophie’s place. I was quite jealous! No reported issues at all. The house and surroundings were so quiet and calm, which my nan found really weird at first! Perfect for a peaceful break.

    Charlotte2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sofie's house is beautiful. We wanted a rest after traveling and although we stayed only one night it was enough to recharge our batteries. We loved the way breakfast is done in the room. Eat when you like. Sophie is a great host and although we arrived late she made everything easy for us to check in. Wonderful thank you.

    Sara2019-08-23T00:00:00Z

  • Toms place is in the perfect location only a quick stroll into the centre of Winchester and close to many restaurants, bars and shops. He couldn’t have been more helpful in his responses and recommendations. The place is easy to get to and was brilliantly decorated, clean and comfortable. Everything we could have wanted xx

    Elena2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely room, excellent location. Tom was really helpful and went the extra mile.

    Nicola2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I could not have been happier with my stay here. Tom was the most accommodating Airbnb host I have ever had. I got sick right before arriving and didn’t want to share a bed with my friend I was tracking with for fear of giving it to her. So Tom made up a beautiful second bed for us that was just as cute at the official real bed already there. This was so helpful. Really saved our trip. The room was stunning, location is perfect, and check in was smooth. Would give 6 stars if I could.

    Keren2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • My mum and dad enjoyed their stay very much. They loved the interior design and attention to details. The hosts were very quick to respond and helpful. Thank you!

  • Great location, about 5-10 minute stroll to the high street. Lovely studio apartment, couldn’t want more for a weekend break with other half!!

    Charly2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic place! Quick walk to the middle of town, all the sights, and the train station but just far enough away to be on a quiet street. Gorgeous, clean apartment. Tom was a wonderful host - flexible with the check-in and made it extremely easy to get in ourselves and let us know the best spots to get dinner. Everything about this place made our trip perfect - hope we make it back & can stay here again! :)

    Amy2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location, very close to all you need.

    Dean2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely place is cozy, clean and it got all the amenities that one might need to have a good couple of days in a lovely town such Winchester, the flat is located within 5 minutes from the centre and is very quiet, also the host Tom will replay within a few minutes any enquiries at all, no matter the simple or silly things that you have in mind. I absolutely recommend people to take advantage of this beautiful place. Luis

Wheelwright Cottage is a snug, self-contained cottage attached to 1 West Dean, right in the centre of the village of West Dean on the Hampshire/Wiltshire border, equidistant from the cathedral city of Salisbury in Wiltshire and Romsey and Stockbridge in Hampshire . There are many beautiful walks and cycle rides from the cottage. The village has it's own railway station just 5 minutes walk from the cottage. Salisbury is the next station going west and Mottisfont & Romsey going east.
The Campaign to Protect Rural England has awarded the village of West Dean the "Best Kept Small Village in Wiltshire". The cottage is located in the centre of the village, adjacent to the village green. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Salisbury Cathedral is one of the most beautiful in England and is well worth a visit. It contains one of the original copies of the Magna Carta the Great Charter of Lberties granted by King John in 1215. The Cathedral is a 10 minute walk from Salisbury station (the train journey from West Dean takes just 12 minutes). The New Forest National Park 15 minutes drive from West Dean. Other plaes of local interest include: Mottisfont Abbey and grounds, (National Trust property) with its world famous rose garden; Hilliers Aboretum, Romsey; Stonehenge (Stonehenge tour bus available from Salisbury train station); Beaulieu Motor Museum and house; Pepper Pig World; Winchester Cathedral; West Dean is on Cycle 24 route (bicycles available); Local pubs to walk or drive to include The Black Horse in West Tytherley or The King's Head, Whiteparish (mentioned in The Times top 40 pubs in the UK). Bently Wood borders the village and has many beautiful walks and has is said to be an outstanding habitat for butterflies including the famous Purple Emperor.
During this time of extra vigilance, I am taking extra time to deep clean between lets. Wheelwright is very much in the countryside with lots of fields and an abundance of fresh air; you are very welcome to use our garden. As long as you think that you will not pose a risk to others, you are very welcome to stay.
  • Patricia was really helpful while we stayed. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely comfortable bed and the room was very clean. There is a nice sized kitchen so you are able to cook meals if you don’t fancy going out. Lovely little village tucked away not far from Salisbury. We didn’t get chance to do any walks, but Patricia does have plenty of info on them. We will be booking again post Corona virus.

  • Patricia is such a wonderful host and adds extra special touches to make sure you have everything you need for an amazing stay. Her annex is cozy but has all you need to relax and enjoy!

  • Patricia is lovely. The apartment is great. I would highly recommend staying here.

    Amy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and comfy place in a nice quiet village. Underfloor heating was a welcome treat on cold evenings!

    David2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, great touches with milk, butter, croissants etc left. Clean, comfortable and nice size. Patricia and her husband are lovely and it’s in a lovely little village. Despite the weather when we were away and it almost flooding... My girlfriend and I had a great time. Went for a 4 mile walk and was just surrounded my nature.. it’s good being able to get away and being almost disconnected from the outside world!

    Charlie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wheelwright Cottage is a lovely, cosy, comfy, Country retreat, with everything needed for a short stay. Patricia provided breakfast essentials, with facilities for further cooking if not eating out at local pubs. Black Horse recommended for home cooked pub grub. Trains not obtrusive, but close by for hourly service to Salisbury/Chandler's Ford. Patricia gave us a warm welcome, and we soon felt "at home". Highly recommended, and we would not hesitate to return to explore the area further.

    Liz2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful little find this was! Everything was so smooth from the moment we booked it. Fantastic communication too! It was such a cosy room with everything we needed - absolutely spotless - and even some grocery essentials when we arrived! Thank you so much! We will be back! X

    Sophie2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Second time we've been recently which suggests we like it! It's in a quiet, countryside village with great walks. The accommodation is better than most hotel suits in the area at a fraction of the cost. You won't regret staying here.

  • Perfect place for a relaxing escape from the city. It was a bit cold outside reason why we wanted to get a house that was just an experience in itself. Lots of nice sofas, chairs and floor pillows to lounge around; the place is full of interesting items, books and even an old DVD and music collection. Wonderful views to the outside fields from any window and even better, when going out to have a cup of tea from the top balcony or porch downstairs. Debbie left us some breakfast goodies, including a delicious jam assortment, which was a very nice surprise and we really enjoyed them thanks! Great walking trails around the property if you are looking to connect with nature too.
